My first year at Duval Court was great. The management team was polite and quick to respond to any problems or concerns via phone and email. My second (and last) year was pretty horrible. Getting the management team to respond to emails was a chore, and maintenance requests took multiple prods and reminders before they were filled (or they weren’t solved at all, as was the case for a broken dryer that was broken for least eight months). A dryer broke during the winter storm and the entire complex was left with one serviceable dryer for over a month, and after repairing a pipe in the North laundry unit (again during the storm), residents weren’t emailed that that laundry room was for use again. I had to email and ask three months later, only to find that it was indeed open, even though a flyer remained on the door stating that it was closed due to repairs. And then, in June, something happened with the gas line, and a resident smelled gas in their apartment. That led to a nightmarish week. Repairs took four days (so four days without hot water because the gas line had to be turned off for repairs) and maintenance teams were constantly knocking on the door, coming in and out, without wearing masks and without the patience to allow for a minute before knocking again––even though they were knocking at multiple times throughout the workday when people were working from home because of the pandemic. It also took them two weeks to have carbon monoxide detectors installed in each apartment, as they had not been available previously, even though the complex has gas furnaces. And now, it has been more than a month since I moved out, and it has been radio silence concerning my security deposit. Management has turned over again, and no one is responding to my emails.Under current management, I would not recommend Miller Properties in the slightest.
The staff is always kind, prompt, and above board. The few maintenance issues we had were all taken care of promptly. Recently the A/C wasnt working. They installed a temporary unit the same day and within two DAYS they promptly replaced it. I lived in a miller prop place years ago as well and had no complaints.obviously YMMV depending on which property of theirs youre renting at.
This place uses deception when I lived At mover properties I had a cornucopia of problems with the office workers they were obstinate arrogant After living there for 4 years total 3 and a 1/2 years worse smoking was allowed inside the apartments then they change that to no smoking and began a harassment program when I moved out they tried to charge me thousands of dollars to have the AC vents Cleaned due to smoking this is probably one of the most overrated undersized apartments I have ever lived in I had extreamly badd cockroach problem that they never took Kara I told them not to spray chemicals in my apartment and they did it anyway which caused me to have respiratory breathing difficulties I woke up during the night gagging and choking the maintenance is OK although they go through a lot of people cant seem to keep quality people on their maintenance team and the people that they do have are always talking about how overworked they are when you move into a complex is over 50 years old you would expect that the house of problems you would also expect the management team to take care of those issues as they work to arise all they care about is getting as much profit from rent is a possible again I would not recommend renting from never properties as they are Not a very ethical or renter friendly management team
Ive heard various horror stories from my friends who rent from other companies in the area (roaches, A/C broken for a month in June, general disrepair), but our experience has been great. Sure, its mostly grad students in our complex and therefore certainly not luxury living, but the staff is always kind, prompt, and above board. The few maintenance issues we had were all taken care of promptly. When we first moved in, the A/C wasnt working. They installed a temporary unit the next day and within two weeks had completely replaced our A/C system with a new one.
The previous management made a mistake on my lease, but since some new office management took over in the summer of 2016, things have been great. The staff are very responsive to requests, both maintenance and otherwise. I was in Pecan Square. The location is fantastic (Hyde Park and close to both regular and Express bus stops) and the rent price was reasonable for the apartment size and age. Saw zero roaches the entire year in my third floor apartment. Never had an issue with neighbor noise. A good option if you dont need a lot of space. Really enjoyed the balcony view of Guadalupe. They have made a number of exterior upgrades in the past few months, too. Great overall value for an apartment in Hyde Park.
Just rent a place from them, I have left several messages. And I havent received no response to property and how to retrieving our keys. Why isnt anyone checking message or emails, they are being contacted on there office hours, unless changes have been made and not mentioned to their tenants.
When my A/C went out, I had a temp unit within hours and mine was fixed by the next day. When a pipe burst in my wall this past winter, the maintenance crew did ALL the work (and had my unit looking even better) in less than a week. Im not one to review things online, but after all the incredible service Ive received from Miller prop, I felt the recognition was more than warranted. Staff is super friendly, rates are reasonable (for Austin), and Paul and the maintenance team are super heroes in my book.
I have lived here at Duval Courts since October 2017. Both the staff at the leasing office and the maintenance staff are very friendly and helpful. Every time I need anything administrative done regarding my unit, the leasing staff is very accommodating, and always remembers me (by first name) every time I go in to the office for anything. Maintenance staff always very friendly with a smile and a wave when I see them, and any time that something physical needs to be done regarding my unit it is done promptly and effectively. Great location(s) and amazing staff to match.
For university housing it is fine. The big thing is, they respond very quickly to any sort of maintenance request. Paul and his team are great in that respect. I am older, but have had no problems with the students being noisy. I actually know some of my neighbors!I did not give it five stars because for the rent, it is not the best although they have updated what they can with nice faucets and upgrading the electrical outlets. They do have a crazy 90 day policy for saying you are leaving. That seems a bit silly. But it is Austin...
My experience with Miller Properties was amazing! My old property manager would take forever to respond to emails and repair requests, and even took two weeks to repair my air conditioner in the summer! The Texas summer! I couldnt believe it. Miller properties is the complete opposite. They are always very kind and friendly in emails, and repair requests have always been filled on the next day for me. They also have an online system that makes thing very simple and easy!Im moving out because my living situation changed, but I would definitely come back if that werent the case! Oh, I lived in Pecan Square btw. Very cool apartment complex, and my apartment even had a small backyard! Very unique for an apartment.
The team at Miller Properties took great care of me as a tennant for the year I spent with them! Any service order was handled promptly and the staff always went above and beyond. Will definitely rent from them in the future if I find myself back in Austin.
The management for Miller is outstanding - they actually try to make this a good place for their tenants to live every day. They dont just pocket your money and sit back to let you live out your lease in a dilapidated apartment. During my time here they installed new benches and umbrellas, washers/dryers, re-paved the parking lot, re-painted the entire property, and put up safety lights. They take noise complaints seriously and actually try to do something about people making excessive noise at unreasonable hours. The only reason Im moving is b/c my gf and I are moving in together and Miller doesnt have any 1 BRs available at the moment. This place is awesome and its because of the management - specific shout out to Samantha for always going the extra mile.
The maintence manager does a fantastic job at coming out or sending a team memeber to the apartment right away to address the issue at hand!!In addition Carlos is my favorite maintence guy. All around great personality. He brings cheer to your home when he is a round and gets the job done. And my puppy loves him.
My roommate and I are renting an apartment from Miller Properties for the coming year. We explicitly said that we needed a new place as close to July 1 as possible and they initially said theyd have one July 15. Then they said theyd only have one August 5 (they told us this two days before were supposed to move out of our current place). The delay is annoying, sure, but what makes me angry is that they lied about it. Like, just be straight with me. I like the leasing agent that I worked with and he seemed genuinely interested in helping us find something in the meantime but I would have preferred it if he had been honest with me from the beginning. Or at least to understand if something had happened that would have necessitated this change. I hope that this kind of behavior does not continue when we actually live at Miller, but Im prepared if it does.

Not a bad little place. Right off 38th street. Close enough to down town. Short cab ride to 6th street.
Still waiting on my deposit check. It was suppose to be returned on the 1st, its now the 10th. The apartment smells and has roaches. Not worth the money. Too bad Austin has a crappy rental market or maybe I could have looked at this place before I rented it! Total sham, the apartment and the city.
The worst office workers ever!!!!
