I am going to GSU. The room was supposed to be ready for move-in on Wednesday 8/18 and was told it was not ready. I went to Westmar on Thursday 8/19 and was surprised by the condition of the apartment and my room. I attached the video that was taken today.Obviously I have not stayed in Westmar yet (the room is not ready nor being cleaned yet), so I talked to leasing members that I cant stay in Westmar because the place is not ready per stipulated move in date (8/18), and the room condition made me very uncomfortable to live there.However the leasing members were unwilling to provide full refund. Wish they were more willing to work things out.As a student, now am I stuck. Again, I have not move in and I am looking for full refund.
I tried to move into this complex 2 different times one on move in day and then again the day after. The staff refused to give me my keys both times stating that my apartment when in terrible condition and need to be clean eventhough I had arrived days after my lease started. The staff there is rude and incompetent. Throughout the whole process of me trying to move in, they only gave me excuses and blank stares when I asked them questions. No one here knows what they are doing and the entire complex is in a state of disaster. The only reason this complex has a high rating is cause they pay people to give them good ratings. BEWARE THIS IS NOT A PLACE YOU WANT TO MOVE INTO.
We had a tour of the property on 5/5/21 and I’m beyond impressed. Our daughter & I met with Devon, who I had talked to via phone months prior. He was very personable, professional and knowledgeable and made sure we enjoyed the tour. He was eager to answer all questions, made sure we got to see every aspect of the building & all of the amenities she’ll have available to her. We were so thrilled with the look, security, and care the employees had and as parents we felt great about our decision. Our daughter is over the moon happy. Thank you Westmar and Devon we truly appreciate your kindness, assistance & courtesy.
LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS!! GO ELSEWHERE!For Westmar Student Lofts to be catered towards the student population, one can very clearly see that is not the case for this complex. From not being able to break leases, to threatening tanking young adults credit scores with collection accounts, to the many hidden fees, the parking fees and boots, the broken elevators, the loud hallways, the unclean community areas, the horrible roommate pairing system, etc. It is very well-known that this is NOT a place that I personally would recommend to anyone; ESPECIALLY students who need accommodations and an understanding staff when trying times arise--like a global pandemic.It really is a shame. The amenities are not what theyre cracked up to be. Dont pay for any upgrades to the rooms, theyre all horrible I promise it is NOT worth the extra money.ALSO, the rent is just ridiculously expensive for what you get. Its also very loud--theres a train nearby. The vending machines, including the pharmacy machine, are EXTREMELY overpriced. Another thing, DO NOT think youll be able to move out without paying any fees. Theyre going to get you for something. Whether its something broken in the apartment that was ALREADY broken before you moved in, or you moved out one second late, or your keys werent turned in by 12pm, it will be something and the fee will be $250 plus more. I wouldnt be surprised if they charged you another months rent. It is just not worth it.At the end of the day, it is very clear that this is a business first. They do not care who they are robbing at the end of the day. It just really sucks that most students already are stressed, dont have much in the finance department, and have a million and one other things on their plate and Westmar adds to it. CONSTANTLY.
Chara from the leasing office is amazing! Honestly, this place is not ideal for me. It is my first apartment in Atlanta, so it’s decent enough for a first try. But the staff is honestly so so nice! Security, leasing office, maintenance. Everyone is just super nice and helpful so that made the experience a lot better.Especially Chara! This is a very big community and it’s easy to be just another tenant, so it’s nice that Chara really cares and establishes a personal connection.Thank you Chara. You’re making my life easier.
Chara is hands down the best employee here. After nearly 2 years I’ve had nothing but head aches between the parking to the locks never working to an infestation. Chara really saved my lively hood and treated me like a human being. She went above and beyond to look out for me. Thank you 🙏🏾
I honestly wish I could give 0 stars. Do yourself a favor and not rent here. My room wasnt even cleaned for move in day and now Im being charged for things that werent even my fault. Not to mention I put in so many maintenance requests for our dryer and they kept brushing them off and closed out one request saying the resident was instructed on how to properly dry clothes. This place is a joke. After 9 months of complaining we finally got a new dryer. I would never live here again or recommend it to my friends.
Westmar student loft apartments supplies food occasionally which is super thoughtful and Taylor, one of the employees was able to supply me with some copy paper for the printer!
Lani was amazing. Lani was very professional and most importantly during these unfortunate times, he was very detailed in explaining why it was best that the tour would be done online virtually & made us feel just as if we were there (ten points for Lani)! Lani had much knowledge of the amenities, parking, and answered all questions i had. I felt very welcomed and i wasn’t even there for myself! I accompanied my little sister who is new to the area and in her first year of undergrad! We were very pleased! Great job Lani!
Hello,I recently experienced a lockout (from my room) as I was preparing for work and left my keys inside. I called the front desk and was asked to bring my I.D. to confirm my living space. UNPROFESSIONAL!! Staff came in to clean the empty bedrooms within my unit and threw away ALL of my living room decorations... Am I being heard or accommodated for their mistake? Of course not. There was a clear sign saying I still lived in the unit so nothing in the living room should have been touched PERIOD. From this, to being charged for insurance that I already provided and paid for, to packages being held in the package room for WEEKS (but claim to be lost) to terrible staff (moesha to be specific) it’s a decent first apartment.. comes with a lot of headaches though..
This is beautiful property. I toured with Lani and all of my questions were answered. I always appreciate a knowledgeable leasing agent. The elite floor plans are beautiful and there are a lot of amenities!

Never sleep without your clothes on.Whether you are male or female, the staff would enter your bedroom anytime. The would knock, okay, but in the third seconds they would already have opened your bedroom door to see you just woke up from dream and naked. Even if you have already locked the door and make a do not enter sticker on the door. If you have other choice, run!!! I hate westmar since the first day when I moved in.
I stayed there for 2 years just because I was lazy to move to another place. But listen to me, this is not a good place to live, if you are a clean person, who does not smoke. The Management is really bad, most of the managers have attitude when you go seek for help. Once you move in all they want is rent on time, if you need something else they will make you run on circles. After staying there for two years they are asking me to pay for the walls because they are damaged, the paint is not the same as I found them, which sounds crazy to me.listen to me, go to university house or other places but this one I do not recommend
CURRENT LIVING CONDITIONS.. this has been going on for almost 2 weeks and NO ONE has YET to help me…sent NUMEROUS maintenance requests NUMEROUS phone calls… my air conditioning randomly gave out and everyone’s giving me the ABSOLUTE RUN AROUND atp it’s frustrating.. my unit hasn’t went under 80 degrees in 2 weeks !!.. & i’m paying rent every month for utilities? unacceptable!! i’m not about to play with westmar and their run around i’m not one of the “regular tenants” .. only one person has helped me i forgot his name he gave the maintenance a call and they told him “no update” ??? ARE YOU SERIOUS?? if i don’t get a solution even as little as a window air conditioner i will IMMEDIATELY take legal actions regarding the landlord for not abying by the lease .. either i will get reimbursed for buying my own air conditioning unit or it needs to be provided to me ASAP. this is RIDICULOUS

I spoke with Devon via telephone when inquiring at Westmar lofts and I must say he is thus far the best leasing agent Ive spoken to in my search. He was very understanding when accommodating my needs for my future home. I definitely think that hes a major asset to the team there. Sadly, I did not end up leasing due to the community style but it was a tough decision because of Devons stellar customer service skills and quality phone etiquette! Nice job, Devon! :)
Called in today about leasing questions and I can say it was a pleasant experience on the account of leasing agent Devon. He was so informative on the process and how to help get my child in a unit on time. Ive called previously on many occasions and he seems to have been the BEST agent to assist me. Stellar training with Devon, WESTMAR.
Try not to move here if possible. Has one of the most disorganized management office ran by students and they will take days to reply to serious issues. Issues involving the police is also not taken seriously.They will barge into your living spaces sometimes without knocking saying they have the rights to do so and wilk argue in their defense, sometimes very impolitely.Also if you old roomate made a mess and left, it is on you to clean up his mess as well.Not recommended.Highly not recommended.

Not only did they not pro-rate my rent but I was told they dont even know if they’ll prorate for next month either.. which is illegal btw. ANY STUDENTS WHO MOVED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MONTH JUST SO YOU KNOW IT IS ILLEGAL FOR THEM NOT TO PRORATE YOUR RENT!! I have sent emails to everyone.. including management for weeks and no response. I called over 50 times and left voicemails. They say the phone line is down but answered the phone right in my face. They’re ignoring me hoping that i dont know my rights. Im gonna make so much money off of ya’ll. My next email will me frpm my lawyer. Cc’d to all of ya’ll!
Westmar has improved quite a bit from over the years. I visited a friend that lived there before I made my full move to Atlanta back in 2018 and it was complete trash. I think someone new took over and completely cleaned things up. I visited the property recently and Lani the leasing agent was really my selling point. He was kind, personable, and really made me feel like he cared about my concerns. Im seriously considering leasing here.

- Where Do I Start !!Listen upppp, if you sign this just know you hurt your own pockets . Don’t be fooled by ( FALSE ADVERTISEMENT). We gotta live here nobody does . The only thing that looks nice is the office area but come upstairs ( stop looking at show rooms ) come up ! Come see dusty floors, roaches and cement .Be ready for fire alarms to go off on school days ( If yours work ). Be ready for random emails at 3Pm saying they have approve to check units . Oh .. be ready for the eviction letters to start or the ten $ late fees . When you use residential portal it takes a minute to update apparently so their book keeper will claim you owe more after paying the balance it says .. ( you wanna move here still ?)The promised you all these amenities, the pool is green and apparently gets cleaned Monday’s . Security guards let everyone and anyone in apparently the office does also . It says student lofts but we have elders here . ( that makes sense )? Why are we 21 with 51 year old people in our apartment . The cvs machine is never restocked . The mail room is a check if your stuff goes missing lol ( oh well) . This place is a joke .Lastly, They have the nerve to make you pay before seeing your actual apartment( scam ) because it’s not clean which is funny because they swear they cleaned due to covid ! But come our day you have all these cleaning fees and paint job fees . Where was this energy moving in ? It’s a cheap paint Job they give you, I bet your dishwasher is full off roaches . Place is a joke, management needs to sell this place and let someone else take it over . A bunch of money hungry people trying to take our money.
I am a resident here but I got booted and fined $75 for parking in the parking lot, despite I already had valid temporary parking permits. This apartment is cooperating with a scam booting company Advanced Booting Services. How can an apartment fine their residents and guests like this? Never live here or park here.
Today I called inquiring about these lofts and had the most pleasant conversation with Devon. He was very knowledgeable and extremely kind. He answered every question I threw at him, full of confidence. He explained all the amenities and I was thoroughly impressed. He was someone I would love to live next too as my neighbor. Unfortunately the community doesnt exactly fit my style and what I was looking for.. As my search continues I hope to run into more Devons along the way to further excite my search..
Alright soo where do I start .. it’s important that you keep in mind that westmar is a hit or miss . Cheap rent equals problems “ it’s too good to be true”. Yea it’s also false advertisement “ it’s not just for students please understand ! The ceilings and floors are nasty cement . The painting job is cheap but your 4th month the walls won’t even be white anymore . You have these big poles in your room with a panic button that don’t even work ! Yes you have your own bathroom and own door lock . Yes you gotta deal with drama, random roommates, fire alarms and nasty smells in the halls . You will get fined for any and everything please be aware, Before you sign the lease keep in mind “ UNLESS YOU FIND COVERAGE YOU WILL BE PAYING”. The office will tell you anything that sounds good because it’s their job but it’s up to you to do the research . If you don’t live living on a campus this is one step up . Oh the pool will never be cleaned .. I personally would never recommend this to place but if you need something last minute definitely book westmar. !

Worked with Lani and he was nothing but GREAT!!! GREAT Customer Service, GREAT sales experience, etc! He made sure everything was A-1 prior to my move-in. I recommend him 100%.
I lived here for a year before moving out. First, the good part. The maintenance is quick to fix problems. The price is decent, considering the free parking. The amenities, especially the shuttle bus, are great.But none of that can salvage just how horrible the apartment itself is. The paint is bad, the lighting is bad, the bed and mattress are bad. The hallways are smelly and the building layout is bad (I had to walk 5 minutes just to get to the front door.) It is basically a $500 level dingy room attached to a building with otherwise decent amenities.
If I didnt have to give a star, I would give 0 stars. This place is absolutely a scam. The room they show you is nothing compared to what you actually move into. Working with the leasing office is such a pain. Everyone is rude and no one communicates properly. I moved in and the construction wasnt even done. There were nails everywhere and the paint was unfinished. The experience moving in was horrible. They have no carts for you to use. The hallways always smell like marijuana. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE. Save your money and time and go somewhere else.

I was inquiring about a 2 bedroom apartment for the Fall 2021 semester & spoke with Devon. He was very knowledgeable about the property and very personable! He explained all the amenities & the resident shuttle. He also expressed that there’s a rooftop track & I fell in love! I didn’t move because I didn’t care for individual leasing! Other than that I had great experience with Devon!
I am first time apartment hunting and a friend of mine told me to check out Westmar Lofts. I spoke with D’Lani who was very polite and patient with me and all my questions and concerns as a soon to be first time leaser. He had an answer for every question and ultimately helped me decide that Westmar Lofts would be a perfect fit for me. The rest of the staff were nice as well and the property is great for the location/price.
I recently decided to stay off campus next semester. I was unsure whether or not to stay at Westmar so inquired about the 3 bedroom and was able to speak with Lani, he is so great and helpful I had to actually leave a review. He’s knowledgeable about the property and all the amenities, so much so he convinced me to look into the two bedroom unit instead the three. I can definitely see myself at Westmar.
I recently just moved to Atlanta and I attend Clark Atlanta. A friend recommended me to Westmar students lofts - I called to get more information on pricing, available move in date, roommates, etc. I spoke with D’Laani Hodge. He provided great customer service and assured me that I’ll be in the center of everything. He said that the apartments were industrial modern with high ceilings ( literally what I’m looking for ) !!! Thank again i can’t wait to move in

I must give Devon a 5 star rating due to his spectacular customer service. Devon answered all of my questions, all while never hesitating to provide a smile. I honestly wish this was the apartment for me because everything that Devon showed to me & explained was perfect. However, I am looking for a one bedroom with no roommates.
Westmar has a really nice postal service staff. They’re always ready to help when they’re not on break. In my opinion, the rest of the building / staff could use some work, but for the most part it’s not a bad place to live and I would recommend it for anyone new to ATL who’s looking to get on their feet.
My son is interested in staying at Westmar, so we called to inquire about the lofts. I was well informed about the property, amenities and price . After all of that, a virtual tour was offered. Thanks Westmar for a great experience.

Been living here since November, and I can only say positive things about my experience. The rooms themselves are fairly spacious, well maintained, and have great views of the city. Management is friendly and timely at helping with concerns. It is amazing value for the price of rent.

I currently live at Westmar and let me start off by saying this is the worst student housing ever. Wait...its not really student housing because they allow NONSTUDENTS to live here. When I first moved in they failed to tell me that there was somebody already living in the 4th bed room and also the kitchen wasnt cleaned. There is mold everywhere, gnats, roaches, stink bugs, and ants. And I was right by the trash shoot and it always over flowed into the hall way and made the whole hall way stink. And the fire alarm goes off every night. Please if you are reading this, do not stay here all the bad reviews are true.
My experience at Westmar has be great. Kassidy in the package room is always so helpful! Anytime I have a question, she always has the answer.

As a perspective resident, I am very pleased with the staff at Westmar. Devon conducted my tour of the apartment and was very well spoken and knowledgeable of the different aspects of the apartment. Every question I asked, Devon was able to answer and give me great detail. As a resident, Devon was also able to give his own experiences living in Westmar which was very helpful in answering the questions that I had and making my decision to become a resident. I am really excited about moving forward with Westmar as my future home.
I called to inquire about a one bedroom for the fall 2021 semester and This place has everything that I can dream of as far as the amenities are concerned. Not to mention the staff in the leasing office are so helpful and knowledgeable. I believe I spoke with a young man by the name of Delani, he is a sweetheart and very helpful.
I delivered groceries today and the security staff was extremely rude. I’m not a resident, however, the resident I was delivering to stated he had Covid and needed the items to be delivered directly to him. However, the security team wouldn’t allow me up (which was fine). The issue began when they started to disrespect the resident rudely telling him he doesn’t even sound sick and that he needed to come downstairs to get his groceries. When he explained he can’t even walk and asked if they could escort me up; they again rudely told him oh well you need to come and get your groceries and if you sick make sure you wear your mask.Once it was established I wasn’t delivering to him, I asked them where I could place the items. They rudely stated I don’t care where you leave them. Just don’t leave them on my desk. Their rudeness and hostility was unnecessary and if I was a resident, I’d have an issue with them.If they are the first people future residents experience upon entering the building, I’d consider speaking with them about their attitude and poor people/communication skills.

I am currently a resident at Westmar Student Lofts. My roommates and I pay for a luxury apartment unit and have to endure an infestation of gnats, no air conditioning, outdated/unhealthy air filters, and an absurd amount of mold. I have personally requested air conditioning for going on a week now. I have put in the necessary work orders and I have also made numerous trips to the front office to address the issue. I was helped by an office worker, but there hasnt been any accommodations nor any help with issue what so ever.
It was my first virtual tour and I must say, it was great! I was able to a great feel of the property from my own home! The leasing agent, D’lani, was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. He made me feel welcomed and didn’t seem at all phased by my dozens of questions. I’m definitely looking forward to considering Westmar as my future home

Called in to inquire about openings for this upcoming semester and connected with D’Lani and was informed of the availability as well as offered the opportunity to tour. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the property. Communicated all of the necessary info needed and was always readily available to speak with. I’m very happy with my place and anytime I need help, I go straight to D’Lani and it’s taken care of.
Westmar is a great community for students, very impressed with the amenities and location. I was impressed with the staff as well, D’Lani Hodge was extremely helpful, knowledgeable about the apartment and the area surrounding the community. D’Lani provided excellent customer service by answering all of our questions in detail with a positive attitude and smile. I look forward to my little brother living here.

Im disgusted I even have to give a whole star for this review... I just moved out of this place at the end of June; I couldnt stay through the end of my lease term because of all the renovations happening. I wouldve been long gone earlier but when I had signed my lease I was informed that there were no more 10-month leases available. Why not renovate the apartments that people shouldve been moved out of two months earlier instead of the one I was living in for no reason?? Half of the lease they make you sign doesnt even apply apparently because they dont even follow their own procedures listed in it. This was just ONE of my grievances, apart from my bike being confiscated without my notification, people entering my apartment without my knowledge, an ant infestation I had notified management of multiple times to no avail, smelly hallways, clogged bathtub and sink before I had even moved in, an unsynchronized W/D system, expired elevator permits and constant breakdowns, apart from many others. I cant believe how terrible this place was, I had to get an emotional support animal just to bear through every inconvenient occurrence while in the midst of continuing my education. I just wish I had had more time to chose a better living environment because they make you pay a non-refundable deferral fee that has nothing to do with anything if youre using financial aid to pay for your apartment. Smh.

He was a very friendly leasing specialist and answered every one of my questions while catering to my needs! 😁

This team has really turned itself around over the past year. Their front office workers are always eager to help with superb customer service and their maintenance team is always quick. Tiffany is the main reason why I signed here - she is amazing and has such a contagious energy. Makes me want to hang in the office all day. Great job team!

If you are a student moving to the Atlanta area you should definitely check out Westmar Student Lofts. The renovations look great, prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly.Unfortunately they are not pet friendly 😢. Thanks Lani for answering all my questions.
This place has its lows, but when staff members like Kassidy are on shift I know that any problem I have will be solved swiftly and with a positive attitude.
Ive never seen student apartments quite like Westmar. They have such a modern, rustic look that I fell in love with + there is a 24-hour convenience store (we can barely be outside right now so this is perfect for me)! For me, the staff was my deciding factor. The office staff is highly responsive, professional and attentive to its residents. Maintenance is great about making quick repairs which is a HUGE win. I strongly recommend you schedule a tour and see this beauty yourself!
