Excellent service and very reasonable prices. You can tell the person running it loves watches.
Amazing and quick service. The individual that helped us (didnt catch his name) was very polite and knowledgeable
Ripoff. Went in looking for replacement crystal for vintage Hamilton wrist watch. The guy wanted to take my watch and charge me $500+ and ship to Switzerland. I found replacement crystal on esslinger.com for $24.
Oh my gosh, I was so impressed with the services received from this store. Dan was pleasant and he even gave me a first time discount of 20% off. Which I extremely appreciated. They fixed my watch in 5 minutes or even less and set the exact time on my Michael Kors watch. I will definitely go back with other broken watches in the future. Definitely stop by with your needed watch repairs.
The owner, Dan, overhauled two antique family heirlooms for me, one an Omega manual wind and the second a Hamilton pocket watch, both of which had not been used in 50+ years. It took time, but I could not be happier with the result. The watches will now have second lives. Dan is more aptly a watch restorer than repairer.
I stopped by today to get a watch battery replaced. He was quick, and it was only $25. I highly recommend this place!
Awesome place to get your watch fixed. Needed a quick fix - was able to do it same day and inexpensively. Will definitely be getting more watches serviced here.
A++ Dan did fantastic service overhaul on my Tag Heuer Automatic Chronograph. It was clear from the very first minute we spoke that Dan is passionate about his craft and would service my watch at the highest level. I would highly recommend this shop for anyone needing service on their timepiece. Impeccable work at a fair price.
I cant say enough about the professionalism, expertise and genuine courtesy of Arlington Watch Works. Having been ripped off by a non-Omega Factory Authorized watch repair shop, I brought my water damaged classic 1993 Omega Seamaster to Arlington Watch Works. Dan advised me on my options and then proceeded to do a compete overhaul with genuine parts in a timely manner at an extremely reasonable price. If youre looking for a craftsman who cares about quality and is passionate about his work, Dan and Arlington Watch Works is the place for you.
I won’t be taking my watches anywhere else. The owner does a fantastic job for a fair price - and he’s quick! Highly, highly recommend giving this shop your business.
Just moved to Clarendon from New York in Feb - needed a new watch band, figured I’d have to go into the city but really happy to discover this hidden gem. Reasonably priced and the owner is a really good guy I ended up chatting with about life and the world for 20 minutes. Feels nice to support the small businesses that are still afloat!
Dan did an amazing job with my vintage Omega Seamaster. He charged a fair rate and provided me with all the pressurization and fix documentation. Its also clear he has a passion for watches and fine machinery, which comes through in the way he talks about the watch and the mechanics. If you have an Omega, hes the guy in the DC area to go to - worth every penny!
My watch stopped today, so I required a battery - showed up at 2:00 p.m. - 45 minutes later watch was ready. Great value - even asked if it needed to be water proof - which I did - goes to show the professionalism by this store. Overall great value - I highly recommend!
Dan, the owner, is the man. Hes incredibly knowledgeable about vintage watches, and Ive had him work on my 60s era Rolex before and hes done impeccable work. While Im sure hes great for getting a new battery installed in your quartz watch, thats a bit like asking a Ferrari mechanic to do an oil change on a Civic. For anyone with vintage mechanical watches in the area, Id strongly recommend him for your service needs.
Very professional. Great knowledge of watches and watch repair.
This is a great place if you want your luxury watch to be serviced or repaired. My first-time experience here is absolutely fantastic. Dan is professional and he really helps you analyze the condition of your watch. The price is reasonable. In addition, they offer a variety of high quality leather straps.
Was in and out in no time. Excellent service and price. Will be a repeat customer for sure.
Dan quickly replaced the battery in my grandfather’s Omega quartz from the 1970s. Great to have it working again! Had tried to get the right battery a couple times before with no success. Helpful and reasonable prices.
I hate, absolutely hate writing a negative review especially since I personally sought this establishment because of the great reviews. This all started last Saturday when I called ahead and inquired as to whether I can have two watches cleaned and polished. The first person I spoke to on the phone notified me that no, they do not offer that service by itself. I was told that polishing is only offered with a full watch service. I indicated that my watches worked and didnt need servicing just polishing. I was immediately handed off to someone else who told me, sure come in and they will see what they can do. I drove from Old Towne Alexandria and arrived to deliver the watches. I was greeted by an older gentlemen who immediately re-iterated to me that watch polishing is not something they can do without a full service, I repeated (again) that that was not what I needed and that I drove all the way there because I was told that they could help me. The second gentleman I spoke to on the phone immediately proceeded the first and remembered our phone call from earlier and gave me an estimate for the cleaning and polishing ($90 for one watch) and ($160 for the other), I said sure and he told me two-three days. This past Wednesday, I got an email with an estimate for a full watch service with a bill of $675. I immediately called back and told the shop that that was not what I needed nor what we agreed upon. Frustrated, I drove there immediately after work to pick up my watches. I was greeted by the same gentleman who accepted my watches and gave me the original estimate of $90/$160. I indicated to him that a full watch service was not what I requested nor what he quoted me on. He immediately remembered our agreement, highlighting that he forgot. Frustrated, I simply took my watches back. Poor customer service, poor coordination and poor communication. It was like one-hand didnt know what they other was doing. I took my watches to Belle View Jewelers in Alexandria. TOP NOTCH service, I had both watches serviced within less than an hour and I paid $110 total. Not only was the service there amazing, they didnt rip me off. Watch buyer and connoisseurs be ware.
Not bad
Solid 5 stars no doubt! Just replaced my watch battery the first time since I moved to DC! Great price+Excellent service(Didn’t even make the appointment ahead and the service was fast and great)... Highly recommended and I will definitely coming back anytime when I need anything to be done with my watch :D (PS: all the 5 stars the shop got from other customers is not for nothing or coincidence!)
Great selection of watches and really good customer service! I take my watches in for new batteries to Dan and he does a great job with them. I also recently did a trade in and found a watch I really liked in his shop. Highly recommend!
After putting some pretty deep scratches in my Omega Moon watch (Hexalite crystal face) I stopped by Arlington Watch Works after seeing their reviews. Glad I did. I was planning on replacing the watch face, which everyone said I would have to do and at a cost of a couple of hundred dollar; however, Dan, the shop’s owner and watchmaker said this might not be the case and spent several minutes buffing the scratches out. The scratches were completely gone and it is now as good as new. He also said there was no charge as it didn’t take too long. He could have easily charged me to replace the watch face and I would have never known. Aside from that, I was absolutely amazed looking around his shop. He has one of the best selection of mid- to high-end watches for sale, which he’s repaired. Some pieces go back decades and look in flawless condition. I also noticed he has a steady stream of clientele that come in, which is certainly a good indicator of the demand for his work. If you’re in the market for either a watch repair or buying an extraordinary time piece, you can’t go wrong with this shop. Highly recommend.
The watchmaker appears to be nice but got grumpy when I took a little while. Sorry for taking a little time but you dont need to ask me pay since you had no other customer in your store. I did not fix anything, but opened my watch with your tool. I know asking your was something extra. It was a great help even though I placed the battery incorrectly. Keep it cool.
Excellent service!! My watch has much sentimental value, and they restored it with great care. I highly recommend Arlington Watch Works.
Outstanding customer service and craftsmanship.
Bought a Omega Speedmaster from him. He was very professional and helpful. Also he has a very nice selection of watches will be back and would recommend anyone to him.
It’s rare to find a brick and mortar shop with vintage watches. They’ve got a decent selection and the guys were very friendly. I’ll be checking back with them every time I’m in the area.
I’ve been here a few times and generally really appreciate the service. They really know their watches and have a great selection of vintage pieces. I brought in my brand new watch to have the strap replaced - even though I have a spring bar tool at home, I was nervous I’d scratch the brand new case so I brought it in to this shop. They switched the strap, but I didn’t notice until I got home that there are two very visible scratches on the front of two of the lugs - right where a spring bar tool might have been used. It’s odd because to avoid scratches on the front of the lug, usually spring bars are removed from the back of the watch. I have detailed pictures of the watch both before the strap change and afterwards, so this is really the only place It could have occurred. I respect the expertise of this store but was very disappointed to have my brand new watch scratched, and will probably go elsewhere (or do it at home) if I need to switch straps.
Absolutely fantastic! Dan was extremely kind and enjoyable to talk to and fix my Bulova watchband spring in less than 30 seconds flat. Cannot be more thankful.
Dan greeted me warmly in this tidy hole-in-the-wall shop in Clarendon. He took my watch and said he would text (!!) or email me when my watch repair was completed. A few days later, I got an email. Dan greeted me warmly again, and I collected my watch. It was a true old-world service experience in the 21st Century. I wish everyone would give this man their business.Bravo!
Incredible work on a vintage Seiko. Would recommend.
Excellent service! Polite and very professional! Recommended!
I brought in my Omega Speedmaster Reduced because the case cover had come loose. He was able to fix it easily! I would feel comfortable bringing my watch back here anytime
Pricey
Fantastic. Professional and affordable repairs... fixed a watch that another Arlington repair place broke and couldnt fix. Gorgeous selection of high-end watches for sale too.
Brought my two watches for battery replacement. Dan did it in under 10 minutes and also pressure chekched the watches, which Ive never seen anyone doing before. Great service. Will definitely come again
I had my Rolex repaired and serviced there. It looked better than New after. The owner and staff are all fabulous. I would highly recommend to all my family and friends. Prices are very reasonable.
Ive walked past this place many times and never noticed it. I found it when I received a watch as a gift and needed the band resized. I walked in to no line and very quickly had a new band placed and links removed. Very reasonable prices and friendly professional service. Highly recommend.
One of the pins on my watchs band broke, so I walked into Arlington Watch Works that afternoon. The owner took a look at the watch, brought it to the backroom to insert a new pin and redid the band. All within a couple minutes and didnt ask for anything in return! Definitely will be back, great repair shop with some really nice watches on the wall for sale too.
Fast and excellent job. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area!
Left my watch with them to do an intricate sizing of a vintage watch. They fixed an issue with the band and sized it properly within a few hours and charged me a very reasonable price. I will return here for future work.
Replaced two watch batteries while I waited (only 10 min). Great service. Nice to have a local watch shop place close by!
I want to thank Dan for his professional, friendly and excellent service. I will highly recommend Arlington Watch Works to everyone.
Cool shop, but the guy looks like he doesnt want me to be there.
First of all, this place looks so suspicious. I could barely find the place as there is no proper signage. Ridiculous prices and very rude staff (or perhaps ownership). I stopped by here on Saturday 12/07 to get my battery replaced. The two men there quoted me $75 for the replacement. When I asked why it was so expensive, I couldn’t even finish my question without being rudely interrupted by the other staff member who said “well, that’s how much we charge.”Ended up locating another place about 10 min away called “24 Hr Watch & Clockworks.” The place was much more professional and easier to locate. I ended up replacing the battery for the same watch for $15 in less than 5 minutes.DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE. BEWARE.
Excellent customer service. The staff is very knowledgeable in repairing and servicing different types of timepieces. I am very happy with the result and the overall experience. I highly recommend Arlington Watch Works.
Been in this shop a couple times now and each time has been a pleasure. Fast and knowledgable service...and some cool vintage watches to look at while you wait. Definitely would recommend.
Great service. Dan was straightforward and explained everything very clearly. I had no hesitation trusting him to maintain a family heirloom. Will be back for all my watch needs in the future.
Quick turnaround time on my watch servicing, very nice and knowledgeable, will return in the future. Good work at a more than fair price.
I have 2 watches, one being more of an heirloom. I stopped in to have it looked at for what I thought could have been a faulty gasket, but the man at the counter quickly pointed out that there was nothing to be done other than be careful when I wear it. Very honest, will definitely be back if I need a repair!
This repair shop and owner Dan are simply wonderful to work with. I have had him repair several very challenging clocks, watches and two unique pieces of jewelry in his previous shop in Georgetown. Each experience surpassed my expectation, on quality or work and price. I would strongly recommend his services.
Great experience. Walked in to get my watch fitted correctly - Took less than 2 minutes, paid, out the door. They also have bands and new faces so Ill be back to get another watch (cracked face, worn out leather band) fixed up.
Nice guy, fast service, clearly experienced, and was even nice enough to stay open a few minutes past closing to replace my battery.
Friendly customer service, speedy service, and staff are very knowledgeable about all watch brands and types. Highly recommend for repairs on all watch types - modern and vintage. Thanks Arlington Watch Works!
Simple to have a new watchband put on and the beautiful watches on display made me not see the time go by...pun intended!
Able to do a quick battery replacement and seal check. Ill be back again for sure.
Came in to get my cheap, old war watch (so called because I wore it for two years in Iraq) fixed, and he told me honestly that I wouldnt be able to get it done because Stauer replacement parts just dont exist. I had two other repairmen waste my time and money over the last couple years fixing it, only for it to break down again after a week. This is the first guy to be honest with me and advise me to just let it be dead. Learned something about watches in the process, too! When I need a good quality watch in the future, I know where Im going.
I browse often and have only purchased a strap but they are always incredibly friendly and accommodating. I dropped a cheap vintage time piece and the back popped off, not wanting to mess up the crystal I brought it in and the fixed it for free in 30 seconds.
I have been looking for someone to fix my simple Swiss watch for months now. I just realized today that this fantastic shop is right down the street in Clarendon! The owner is super nice and installed a new battery while I waited for a few minutes. Great service! He also services and repairs very fancy watches (ie Rolex, Breitling, Van Cleef & Arpels) from all the world. There are so few shops around these with true craftsmen; this is one of them!
Excellent service! Just stop by to change my Garmin band which I unable to change by myself. He help me without any charges. Thats a kind of him!
Dan, the watchmaker/jeweler is knowledgeable and honest. Very interesting vintage watch selection.
Excellent and efficient service of my watch. Highly recommend!
One of the best around
Nice shop, great location. I got my watches fixed in 4 minutes.
Less than ten minutes to replace my watch battery and reasonable prices! Will be back again. Thank you!
Was in and out in about six minutes. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed my watch. Quick and easy.
Dan is incredibly professional, pleasant, anf helpful. I was referred to him by a local jeweler, and he was kind enough to help me even though he doesnt do jewelery repair. If I ever have a need for watch repair, hell be the first person I go to.
Friendly staff and honestGreat customer serviceSupport local business !!
Not sure how they have 5 stars. Went in this morning because my watch had fallen face down on a flat floor, and the back had popped out. I went in to simply have them press it back on. The man behind the counter wasnt very friendly to begin with, and when I gave him the watch he went behind the counter, and came back saying he couldnt fix it because I had crushed the back trying to press it back on. Taking him at his word, I left the shop. I then went home, got a flat piece of wood, and applied even pressure to the back of the watch (with a piece of newspaper underneath the watch face). It popped right back in. So either this man doesnt know how to apply even pressure, or Im a watch-fixing savant. Either way, I wont be going back here.
They are very nice, prices reasonable and its actually something they are good at. . Thank you for your service .
Excellent service. Tried to get my watch band resized at a Macys and they spent more time telling me why they couldnt than it took for my watched to be resized at this establishment. Will repeat for my other watches!
Professional and prompt service even on a busy day.
Great, honest service that was very much appreciated!
Changed my watch battery in less than 3 minutes. Very nice
Courteous, quick, high quality. Highly recommend.
Good place to fix a watch or clock
Truly excellent for service, purchases, and sales of fine watches. Try this place first and last.
Efficient, speedy and pleasant service. Absolutely recommend for any kind of watch repair!
