This gym is a lot better than where I originally worked out, the staff wants to see you succeed and the people here aren’t you’re typical judge mental gym type, everyone here genuinely wants to see each other improveIn using the training program over the probably last month I’ve seen overall form change and the staff gives both good workout and diet advice to see improvement. Abraham runs a really good program and is always pushing me and I see the results in my form and strength. In my opinion it’s a gym worth joining.
Excellent trainers! Very friendly employees who make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in! Very clean, all the weights are in the right place, overall great environment. Best gym I have ever been a part of.
Stayed inside during the whole pandemic and then I decided to venture out to the gym as I had gained about 20lbs over the last year.Unfortunately, I got the virus. Not blaming the gym as it was my choice to go workout, however, I ended up in The hospital with permanent lung damage.Called the gym to cancel they said come in. I said I couldn’t (C19 virus). They said send a letter to the home office in Cali. Okay, I did that.2 weeks later, still never heard back. Finally felt better and doc said I was no longer contagious so went into cancel or confirm if my letter was received. They said it wasn’t but I could cancel with them. I said okay, whatever and canceled then. Never received email confirmation, but was told it was cancelled.I just got billed again.People warned me to not go here but it was close and convenient.I encourage you to find ANY other gym in the area, no matter the price or distance. I guarantee you’ll have a better experience.Hope this saves you a terrible experience.(And Wish I had listened to the people who left negative reviews on here)
I would like to personally thank Abraham, Omar and the amazing team at LA Fitness, for the amazing job they have done. When I first started my weight was 345lbs. With Abraham teaching me how to eat correctly and Omar training me, I am below 300lbs for the 1st time in over 10years. They never gave up on me and motivated me in and out the gym. Abraham pays attention to details, he really cares about you reaching your fitness goals. I recommend, if you do join see Abraham.
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR PRIVATE TRAINERI signed up for personal trainer. The Trainer made me to sign all agreement without letting me to read contact. When I was going to cancel it after a week they told me the contact was for a year .Anyway I accepted they charging me every month 200$ WITHOUT ANY PROVIDING A TRAINER.Any time I ask they say nonsense and referred me to the manager that she is never there when I come to the gym.I’m waiting to see how long they gonna take my money with out a trainer to lawsuit them…But I like the gym.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE of any place I’ve ever been to.Any time you ask a question it’s like you’ve ruined their day.Plus the Equipment is run down. Seats are ripped. etcThere’s definitely better options in Winter Park…such as literally ANYWHERE ELSE.
I’m very happy with this LA fitness. In particular I’m happy with the support, training and guidance from Abraham and Omar. They provide stellar support and are super focused to help you meet your fitness goals. Abraham is dedicated and really pays attention to what you need individually. Omar makes you feel as if you are in circuit training for a football league. I’m really happy I found these guys.
This LA Fitness is decent... average...BUT.....they DO NOT maintain the cleanliness here!!! I come here every week and there is ALWAYS scraps of balled up paper around various workout machines...and the floors in the mens locker room is VERY, VERY dirty!!!It is sooo noticeable...it is a mystery why anyone could be satisfied with having nasty, dirty floors, especially in a public locker room area where there are showers, bathrooms, etc where germs are especially present?!!! And it takes A VERY LONG TIME (several weeks!) when a piece of equipment needs repair...for it to be repaired! This is so typical if greedy corporations in this country.I just went to the gym this past weekend (7-31 & 8-1)...and the floors in the mens locker room, bathrooms, etc are STILL noticeably nasty dirty!!!!Additionally....if someone were to take just 2-3 swabs of the floors in the mens locker room and have a lab analyze it for germs, viruses, etc...OMG! Think about it...seriously.Inexcusable! Please...anyone and everyone....hit the thumbs up if you go here and notice this too and care about having a CLEAN gym to workout in!
Clean facility. Have a lot of equipment to work with. Have classes that I would be interested in trying. The facility is huge enough for me in wheelchair. Lots of different equipment to work out on.
Poor quality customer service. I have only been a member at La Fitness on and off since 2007. After being fully vaccinated, I wanted to get a weeks pass to try out this location since I have moved further away but have three other gyms nearby within a 5 minute radius. I preferred this location because it has been recently updated and has towel service. The first desk person said they now take debit/credit cards and can only offer me a day pass for $15/day and no longer offer weekly passes for previous members. This is only offered new members. I can easily take my business to another gym that does not charge a newly added $49/per year annual fee and has lower monthly installments if my loyalty is not worth any value to this company. I was a guaranteed customer coming back but now Im forced to leave my comfort zone and join another location. The company should rethink this policy.
Olivia and the team is amazing! She is the Operations Manager and helped me out tremendously on switching to a cost effective Nationwide plan. If you need to register for a membership, she is your girl. Thanks Olivia!
I love this gym, my husband and I have seen great progress in this gym. I love the family vibe the gym has with the trainers, I always feel welcomed by the staff, and I am encouraged by the trainers and I always look forward to sharing my progress. Abraham is my favorite he is always motivating me to push myself, he is always so inviting and encouraging. If you are serious about getting your body in shape, feeling good about yourself and getting healthy you need Abraham as a trainer.
This gym was spotless and the management is excellent. I would definitely join this gym.
LA Fitness is a great place to learn and improve your fitness. I like them because of the welcome clean environment. The coaches are professional, encouraging, and fun.
I didnt appreciate the front desk ladies laughing as I came in . I dont know whats so funny..... But besides that its a pretty location. Everything overall is clean and I love the way its set up.
Very seldom do I get to enjoy working out, so when I go and am greeted and encouraged by the staff it’s very motivating. Especially the trainer Abraham. Got back into personal fitness after a rough surgery and he helped push my mental state to where it needed to be!
When are they ever going to open the pool for Aqua Fit classes? It has been years since they had them and its certainly was great for the over 60 crowd with joint issues.
They have much of the equipments and a variety of fitness classes.
The gym is okay but do not sign up for any extras like HIT or personal training. I was coerced into personal training by the director. He was signing me up paying for me and I would pay him back so unprofessional and tacky. I signed up for 6 months and cancelling after that is a horrible experience. This company doesn’t care about their members just how much money they can get out of people.
Too loud..HIIT room constantly leaves door open with instructor screaming over a microphone while the P.A. system plays different music overlapping the other room...no headphones in the world can block this chaos. Stuff uses bleach to clean mats during workout hours...should be done after hours. Several hand towel machines are broken.
I have been with the gym for 4 months. I am going to cancel. I was told that it was clean and they do not mandate mask use. I see members NEVER clean equipment after use. On top of that, I was told it wasnt very busy but it is always crowded (i have tried going at different points of the day and its hard to get on equipment). There isnt enough room to socially distance from people due to the crowded gym. I am going back to the Gym Downtown where I was before. Recommend getting a membership there opposed to this commercial sham.
Great location and staff. Clean and lots of equipment
Much smaller and not as big and spacious as I would expect from an LA fitness. However I do appreciate the variety in workout materials to target specific muscle groups. The cx service could definitely be better from the people sitting at front desk.
This gym doesnt have any standards, the equipment is very dirty, it never gets cleaned properly, they dont limit the number of people during a pandemic, its completely packed to the point where you cant find any machine to use, they dont care about safety, they use workout rooms to have meetings sometimes not allowing others to use it. This gym charges you $40-$50 a month for a mediocre service, not worth it.
Nice clean pool and Gym.patrick coleman Very nice. front Desk staff ok but need to be nicer to people on the phone and smile when u are at a front desk.
Based on a new story in todays NYT, gyms in New York and Hawaii were a significant source of covid spread. One of the reasons was that these facilities allowed patrons to be maskless while working out, even though masking was required otherwise.THIS IS THE LA FITNESS POLICY. Masked when entering, but mask-optional when actually working out, the time when a person would expel the most air (and, potentially, aerosole covid molecules). While working out there, I saw MANY people walking around without masks and no attempt was made to enforce even the basic rule (masked when changing equipment, mask-optional when using equipment).I got the virus at the end of December. I dont know if I picked it up at LA Fitness or not, but I was working out there at the time. I havent been back since. If they are not enforcing masking rules and making masks required, not optional, at any time when inside, they are part of the ongoing problem of spread of the virus and its ability to mutate into variants.
Firstly, this is a nice gym with decent equipment for any level of fitness. HOWEVER... beware of Abraham. Not only will this man harass you when you try to come in and work out, but he will also call and text and harass you about doing a personal session with him.. think you can say no? Well, then you will be called and called and pressured into giving the class a chance anyways. If you still say no, he will approach you in the gym and get way too close and try to pressure you again. Had to cancel to end the harassment. Which brings me to canceling. They only allow you to cancel in person, not on the app which would be far more convenient. Oh, and only M-F 9-5, so if you have idk... a JOB, you cant cancel. If you go in on a Saturday, they say sorry, only thing i can do it send you a link, you have to go to your email, find the link, go to your account, get a bar code, print that bar code out, then mail it from the post office to cancel. Im sorry... what?! Why, in this day and age and with a company that has an app, would anyone make you jump thru so many hoops and use snail mail to cancel...? Its ridiculous and others should know before getting this membership that while you can cancel anytime you really cant, and youll be harassed until you give up and jump through the hoops just to get away.
Great location .. excellent equipment
This new winter park location is my home gym. Less than a year old its in great condition and the staff does an excellent job keeping it clean. Patrick the GM and his team are friendly and hard working, he runs a tight ship. The cautions they have put in place during Covid have been extensive and noticed in keeping members safe.
I like it cause its a good clean healthy sanitized environment. Not to crowded as well. Everyone is respectable as far as wearing mask.
This is the BEST gym I have ever been to! Their HIIT classes are amazing, well organized, and so much fun! The staff is super friendly and always go the extra mile. Couldnt recommend this gym more.
I love this gym. The staff is always helpful and very friendly. The cardio machines are brand new and this gym has a futuristic feel to it. They have taken all the precautions to maintain the safety of their members during the pandemic. I love the HIIT studio and their classes. Although you have to pay an extra fee, it’s almost like getting personal training for much less. Don’t get me wrong you have to put the work on these classes but they’re great. Tim the director is extremely helpful and coach Jennifer and coach Ashley are the best.
I love this gym. The negative comments surprise me, but none of them reflect anything about the actual gym itself. The equipment is brand new and they work to keep it in great condition! The classes always appear to be full and for those who take classes, they’ve always raved about them. I live closer to another LA Fitness (which has also just been redone) and I wouldn’t take my dog there, let alone my family. This is the first gym I have truly fallen in love with since I’ve moved to Orlando. It’s definitely not the most impressive LA Fitness that I’ve been to, but it’s a wonderful, quaint facility. The gym is always clean, the staff is always very friendly, the equipment is always in perfect working order. This is definitely my Go-To gym! And for the mothers who worry about Kid Care,.. this is the only facility I have been comfortable bringing my kids to! It’s nice that I can finally get my workouts back in, when I don’t have childcare at home.I personally feel you’d be hard pressed to find a better gym in the downtown Orlando to Winter Park area. Anything better is in Dr Phillips and that’s a tad far to drive for a workout. You won’t be disappointed at this gym!
My trainer Sage is one of the best Ive ever had! She is well rounded and talented from strength training to stretching and I see and feel much stronger and am in less pain (lower back) after just 3 sessions. Abraham the manager for personal training area is so helpful and very skilled too! His energy and attitude makes you want to keep coming back! He makes everyone feel comfortable and makes it so fun! HIIT class is just like Orange Theory except its inside the club...Im all in. Thanks LAF Winter Park!
Great facility and staff, but their class schedule is super sparse. The amount of space dedicated to classes for how few classes they have doesn’t make any sense. Been going here for 4 years but can barely make classes. There is only 1 class in total on Saturday????? It should be one per room per hour on the weekend.
Clean and seems well run
Nice gym. Still getting use to wearing masks. As you move through the gym you are required to wear a mask, not as you are doing reps.
Olivia, the manager at this location, is wonderful! She was able to help us with a specific issue without any hassle. Great customer service!
First time back since they remodeled it (like 2 years ago). Super nice facility! Went in at 4:30p today and it was not crowded at all! Front desk could be a little more attentive though, like by greeting people in some fashion.
Great clean gym! Friendly staff! They are doing everything right! Love the hiit classes offered here! Jennifer is fantastic!
Absolute friendliest staff. Wonderful atmosphere. People here make you feel like family instantly. No egos here, just a bunch of really good peeps who love working out and helping each other.
LA Fitness at Winter Park Village is a pleasure to attend. I sincerely hope they continue with the social distancing. My only wish is that they would mandate facial masks on all patrons and staff.I would like to recognize Caitlyn, Operations Manager and Tim Long, HIIT Membership Director, both at the Winter Park Village location for a job very well done. Please keep up the good work.
Had issues with patrons walking around with no masks.People at desk seemed to not care.
This is my home LA Fitness and I love coming here. I worked out here before and after the remodel and I must say they did a great job! I enjoy coming here because its always so clean. My only complaint is the parking, sometimes it can be hard to find a spot during rush hour. But its Winter park so this issue will be everywhere.
This Gym is the best I’ve been to yet. Super clean and tidy. Machines are good brands and well maintained. Gym floor is clean and there’s no napkins lying around. Locker rooms are clean modern and have glass doors and shampoo and conditioner which is a big deal for me. This is my favorite la fitness ive been to so far!
Great upgrade and remodel. This gym is in great shape, clean and organized. Nice staff.
Equipment is new, friendly staff, I’ve been doing HIIT classes for a year they’ve helped me stay consistent when I usually back slide.
The management REFUSES to return phone calls. Christian refuses to put my call through to the manager! My credit card has been billed since june 1st NINE TIMES!! This is unacceptable snd no one will help!! There billing all diffrent amounts it nakes no sence!!!
After 3 phone calls fro 7:00AM - 7:05AM, i finally answered. on the other side of the phone, Very rude woman from LA fitness that demanding payment for months the gym was closed. asked to speak to a manager and the respond was you are going to collection and the call was cut. During this very difficult finacial times, LA Fitness idea of helping is distroying my credit over $47. my next stops are social media and the news. Thank you LA Fitness.
Very nice. Seems very recently redone
Abraham is great I recommend!!
The Winter Park LA fitness is good. However, I see no reason for it to be a Signature Club. The only different thing they do is to offer you towels. Otherwise, non-signature LA clubs offer similar infrastructure (courts, pool, etc).
All around great place to be! Started out by trying a spin class and immediately got hooked! With such a variety of equipment this facility is accommodating to anyone looking to reach their fitness goals . The best part about this la fitness is the staff. The front desk is warm and welcoming and the gentlemen who helped me get started was Diego, he was just so informative and appreciative that I stopped by . If anyone is thinking about checking it out you wont regret it. Diego the general manager was so polite and professional I would I recommend anyone to go see him . Amazing facility and amazing staff !
Very first gym and zero social distancing, always smells bad.
The new remodeled facility is awesome!! The only reason i took off a star is cause i love the sauna and their new sauna really sucks compared to the other la fitnesses! It is bright as hell, and you have to sit directly where the designated heaters are in order for the heat to work, otherwise youre sitting in a mild warm room which is stupid. The person up front told me that Im suppose to shower prior to entering the sauna which is hilarious and then you have to take off your shoes 😂 yeah cause thats exactly what i want...a warm room full of stinky sweaty feet. Other than the sauna this place is looking great and the locker room is really nice!!
Newly Remodeled! Beautiful inside! (Winter Park location) They have everything imaginable that would be needed for a good workout- including gentle workout classes for seniors. Friendly and helpful staff. I am a member.
The equipment is updated and clean and the staff is mostly friendly and helpful. This is a much nicer and better laid out gym than before the renovation.
New equipment but dirty overall. Not impressed.....
I have been going to this gym for a couple of years before the renovation to a signature club. When it reopened I was told that I needed to upgrade my membership if I wanted to come to this gym. Ended up upgrading for an extra $25 a month. The gym is clean and the equipment is new, but its also missing equipment and machines that other non signature clubs have.A couple weeks of working out here I ran into a few people that said they didnt have to upgrade their gym membership to workout here. I asked the front desk about this and they gave me a run around. They told me this wasnt my home gym and I told them to look up my friend who did not register at the Winter Park location and still doesnt have to pay extra. They said corporate would have to figure this out. Waited for corporate to contact me, they never did, so I ended up just canceling my membership here. Dont get scammed into this mess.
Clean! Infrared sauna! Waiting for better classes. They said their going to have Pilates, still waiting.
Since I live about a mile away and am new to the area, I decided to try out the newly remodeled club. I went online, filled out the form for a guest pass, and waited for it to be emailed, as stated. However, instead of getting the guest pass in my email (I checked all my folders), I get a phone call from an Adam from this club. I was instructed to just come in and hed take care of me. After arriving I was allowed to just go in and take the class I was there for, and instructed to see Adam afterward. When I came out and we sat at a desk, he asked me how the class was and for my feedback on the instructor (since I mentioned to him that I am also a fitness professional). The instructor (Kelly) was at the desk right behind us and I thought it was odd that he would ask for my feedback about her right in her presence. I was very uncomfortable with that. (Of course I simply said that I and the participants liked her class). I was told that I would get a free 5 day pass via email. Again, I never did get the pass, got busy, and hadnt gone back. After a couple of weeks, yesterday I decided to go back, and I brought my daughter. I explained to the front desk clerk that I never got my pass and that I was back to see Adam about it, and take a class. The clerk told us to go in and take the class and see Adam afterwards. After class we came out to see Adam and he had us sit at a desk where our class instructor (Mikki) was already sitting at the computer to clock out. In the presence the instructor he AGAIN asks me for feedback on the class and the instructor, as if she wasnt even there. It was awkward and I said class was good and she had great energy. Then after she left and he sat down, I explained the pass situation to him. He kept repeating himself, saying to check my spam/junk folder which I had already told him I did check, even while I was sitting there. He started getting upset and with a condescending tone, acted like I wasnt being honest, spoke to me basically like a (bad) parent to a child, or like I was someone off the streets trying to get something free. I can only guess that maybe he was thinking that I was trying to get something over on him (?). There was absolutely NO basis for this treatment toward me. I was willing to follow whatever their protocol was, but instead, he apparently assumed otherwise right off. I was shocked that he talked to me, a potential customer, with such a lack of dignity and respect. My daughter sat there with me and witnessed the whole thing. We were both surprised, and that experience just left us feeling bad. It wasnt even about getting their free pass. It was about being treated professionally and respectfully. We will NOT be back. There are plenty of other gyms/clubs to go to and be treated respectfully and professionally.
Clean friendly..
The location has some really nice new equipment and theres enough of it that Im never waiting to use something. The place is clean and they offer new amenities for those who sign up since the re-opening. Thats where the problem lies. I was grandfathered in. Ive been a member of LA Fitness for over 10 years. This place was my home gym before the renovation. Before the re-opening my wife and I sat down with one of the managers who talked up all the new features we could use, including towel service. It sounded great. I came to find out, however, that while I was allowed to use the gym, I couldnt use the new services unless I agreed to a $15 per month bump up. That seemed like a cheap shot. And let me tell you, they make it clear that you dont get a towel unless you pay extra!I tried speaking with the managers about this and expressed my frustration that NONE of this was made clear when I was signing my wife up. They didnt care. No one cared and no one could do anything about it. All we got was sorry, those are the rules. The service has been consistently unhelpful, and theyve done a great job of making me feel NOT welcome there. So were done. Weve cancelled our accounts and will go somewhere else because LA Fitness seems to no longer care about their customers. The place is nice, the machines are nice, its close to our house, but the service was bad enough that the rest doesnt make up for it.So long LA. Its really a shame I cant speak better of you!
To all current members beware! This gym is no longer a signature club but they are still charging all their members signature prices ( a service they no longer provide). If you go in to try to decrease your bill to the normal price, they will try to charge you $150 fee just because their gym downgraded!! My advice is to cancel and go somewhere else. So unethical!
Customer service is so friendly here. They’re amazing. But the location is so bad. Looks very dated. The equipment is mixed with new and old. The stair master is super old and rusted. No windows. Also there’s carpet in the locker rooms, doesn’t make sense to be wet on top of carpet.
Definitely one of the nicer LA fitnesses in the area. It’s always clean and equipment is new. I just started doing the HIIT class & I’m so obsessed. The music is great and the workout is great. Tim, who over sees the HIIT classes was so helpful and patient in signing me up. It’s been awhile since I’ve been in the gym so I was a little hesitant but he kept me motivated and stayed on me. I super appreciate it!
Abraham is the best
Spicial thanks for Abraham
What?? No got tub! This is supposed to be a signature club, but it lacks all the amenities. They do have towels that they dole out upon request. Beware if you need more than one. What am I paying extra for??
I love the staff at this gym. They are very professional and always available to answer questions. Everything is clean inside. Its not as fancy as some of the newer built ones around town, but I know that I can find what I need here. It isnt crowded, and if you can get around the random person wearing too much perfume/cologne, you will be in great shape in no time!
After several months on their HIIT program I love it! Not to mention the staff are so knowledgeable and always helping you achieve your goals.
Great location with updated equipment. Parking is always a challenge though.
I tried to suggest an edit to change the hours but decided to just submit one as permanently closed, maybe they’ll be smart enough to figure it out. Anyway, it’s ridiculous they didn’t update their hours to reflect the remodeling on Google Maps as well as all other popular map applications (I haven’t checked any others), get it together.
The atmosphere always seems negative because the workers look like they either want to go home or just look lost in their own world. No one ever says bye when you leave which I find rude and the hours open are not long enough. When you compare LA fitness to other gyms LA is cost the most and closes the earliest. I feel the Winter Park location has room for improvement.
I previously had made an unfavorable review due to poor customer service. I decided to go a second round and I have to say that Im glad thas t I did. Customer service was top notch, Adam helped me out and turned a bad experience into a proud moment.
Man I love this gym!!! The people working there are pretty cool, the people working out there are pretty cool too. A wonderful place to work out. I plan on being a member for a long time. The best 70 bucks I have spent my money on in a long time was when I started at the gym. Like my second home.:-)
I attend Silver Sneakers classes I really enjoy the instructor Mary and my classmates
I worked out here before the remodel. After opening back up they changed it to a Signature Club, so they wanted to charge me almost double what I was paying before for the new amenities. Towels.....towels were the new amenities. This location literally has less equipment than it had before. I’ve been a member over 4 years and they didn’t even attempt to work with me. Im canceling my membership and will never give this company my money again. Terrible business practices.
So much better than the east colonial La where I gave 1 Star. All newer equipment here. Not over crowded. Weights are where they should be. I’ll stay here at this one.
Great workout in clean, & well-equipped, environment!
Why is there a man cleaning the women’s locker room without notice being given to the women inside (some were naked/changing)?I spoke to the manager about my surprise at not receiving a warning that a male was entering while I changed in the women’s locker room. He informed me it is corporate policy to allow any gender to clean the locker rooms and the janitor places a sign on the outside of the locker room. I told him a warning should be given to the women inside the room before a male janitor enters. He said there was nothing he could do and there was no point telling his supervisors because it was a common complaint that corporate never resolves. What kind of answer is that? This is a poorly managed gym. I won’t be returning to LA Fitness again.
I recently called this club to clarify if I could visit them. I’ve had a multi club membership since last year, which I froze while they were closed for renovations and wanted to know if my membership would apply to their “Signature Club” status. The gentleman on the phone pulled up my account and kept repeating that I had a freeze on my account. I asked I could visit their gym again, I was told that I would have to pay 45.99 to work out there. I asked if it was possible to upgrade my membership and if there are any additional fees. He began having an unrelated conversation with someone in the background, then came back and said “thanks for calling sir bye bye” before hanging up on me.I was upset that I maintained my membership for 3 months with the intention to visit this gym, only to learn that it is now a “Signature” club, but I was willing to pay the difference to check it out. After the poor customer service, I will be canceling my membership and joining a local gym that has better business practices.
Signature club members only, thatll be another $25 a month sir Well whats the difference? Free Towels new equipment, $25 more a month. Thats a no for me, and of course it doesnt say its a signature location on the building or online. So thank you LAF for 1. Letting me know that there is a such thing as signature locations 2. That I really CANT go to any location with the extra money I paid you, 3. And for wasting my time and taking away my afternoon workout. Time to switch, and find a place thatll actually allow me into all the locations, and is open all night, instead of 8pm on these days 9pm on these days and 10 on Saturday; and totally different at other locations. -_-
Now a signature club after remodel. Appealing layout thats very clean with an infusion of some new machines and expanded cardio area. Im still adjusting as the free weight area feels somewhat smaller and doesnt feel like a traditional gym/weightroom
Great location, awesome people, tons of equipment, but its extremely dirty. The cleaning girl I see is always working hard and does a fantastic job, but this dirt is from too many years without replacing used equipment, carpet, etc. The carpet in the locker rooms smells so bad its hard to be in there, and the permanent sweat stains on the cardio equipment is absolutely disgusting. Dont look up either because there is about an inch or more of caked dust and dirt on every ledge and ceiling fan. Yuck!!
Undergoing renovation is fine but if you are going to be closed for 6 months, please update your Google Hours of Service - it takes less than 5mins!
After a frustrating year we are leaving due to the poor cleanliness and lack of equipment maintenance. Ive used dozens of gyms and have remained physically fit for 30+ years (military) and recently retired. This gym is one of the more poorly cared for Ive seen. Instead of focusing on fitness, this facility is focus on making money. We are moving to a competitor that is twice the driving distance but worth it in comparison. One last note...when you think youve paid your last payment, surprise! they will stick you with the last month owed. Its all about the contract not about your fitness. Avoid.
Wish I could give zero stars review. I walked in to get a tour of this new facility and was asked by Ross how I heard about the gym. The moment I mentioned active and fit through my hospital job I was treated like I didnt exsit. The sales manager Ross gave me the laziest tour ever didnt even show me the entire facility...didnt make small talk at all!! How awkward. Ross also didnt even know if the cardio equipment had USB slots for charging phones when I asked him his answer literally was I dont know rather than ask someone else at the gym or go find out for me..I literally had to walk to the machine and show it to him to educate his lack of knowledge. I asked the general manager on site if they accepted active and fit and immediately turned me down to the response of NO. Interesting enough, they actually ARE a part of Active and fit. Somehow, these people dont care nor did the manager himself make any difference in this information. The GM was just as bad. Then Oddly enough, I found they are under that plan and explained their facility was listed on the active and fit website. All of a sudden they were like .oh yeah well we wouldnt know that anyways. These people are liars and will straight up tell you lies if they arent making a sale or commission off you. Very unprofessional. Be careful on the information they provide. If you arent going to out down $60 a month they wont treat you well.
Often there is equipment broken. The exercise rope is in shambles, the floor mats are torn, the weight/slam balls are broken and the Sauna has not worked for 3 days. This club is an old LifeStyle Family Fitness so it was not LA Fitness built. But the things wrong with the club have nothing to do with age. It is just upkeep and maintenance that is lacking. The gentleman that cleans the club in the early morning stays bust and works hard. There are several (about a third) of the lights out in the entrance. The lights that do work are filled with spider webs.**** Update... the lights in the front of the building have been replaced and working. The exercise rope has been replaced too.
Great place and super nice people work there. Rick T
Its just meh. Equipment is old, most of it is broken half of the time. Very limited equipment, too many of the same and no mixing of other machines. You want to do a leg day? oh boy we got squat racks and leg presses. One calve machine and one quad machine. No hamstrings machine.Positive note, I see the housekeeper more than other places, not to many LIFT MAN!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!
This gym went from the best in town to the WORSE!The cardio equipment was moved to the entrance and faces walls. Not motivational at all. It used to face the workout area so you can watch others and get motivated. The weight room used to feel like a REAL gym but now has lost that appeal and feels more like a cookie cutter layout.Theres still no hot tub. EVERY other LA Fitness has a hot tub except for this Signature Club which is more expensive. They kept saying the Signature Club includes towel service. Well, guess what? It doesnt. You have to pay extra to go to the Signature Club and then you have to pay extra for towel service.Who was the IDIOT that remodeled this gym?Ive been an LA Fitness member for 14 years and its sad to say I will not be renewing on my 15th year anniversary.I was so depressed on my first visit, I left after 10 minutes on the treadmill.Extremely disappointed and DO NOT Recommend.I plan on going back to Planet Fitness right down the road for only $10/mo. I worked out here while this location was closed for remodeling and now I like it much better than this places new $4M makeover.
Great gym. Patrick is the best
Feels different than other LA Fitness. Not much to look at from the outside. Not as crowded as other LA Fitness. I like it!Suggestion. Add wifi and make it nicer on the outside
Steven is awesome-super professional and friendly. We’ve been going to this gym for years and had some bad experiences. He’s brought it up a notch!
New digs, everything is new, which is expected. Showers are nicely renovated (towel service is ridiculous, tiny towels). Machines are a little cramped but big open room. The staff is useless and unfriendly. There are a couple salesmen who are cordial as sales people should be. Front desk persons dont know how to greet people, but hey, I dont spend time with them so doesnt really bother me.Like that it is still on one floor level (in comparison to other WP club which has a hot, under air conditioned 2nd floor and too many steps)I joined at this location so I dont have to pay extra for the signature club which as far as i can see would not be worth paying extra for since everything is a la carte.
Nice gym. Not over crowded. still the same set up when it was Lifestyle.
Janitor is nice, but there should really be a female janitor for womans restroom, or atleast announce it when the male janitor is present. He is often present while females are changing or naked. Also, this location Should definitely be renovated asap!
Love the renovations to this gym! The Hoist equipment is fantastic!
