My fiancé and I moved here towards the end of July, and couldn’t be happier with the decision to move here. The office staff, and maintenance have been fantastic to deal with. The amenities are great here so we take full advantage of them. The community here are so nice and welcoming as well. Overall I would recommend Mill Creek to my friends and family if they needed a place to live.

Been a resident since Aug 2020. Been very satisfied with my experience here so far. Its quiet and have not run into any issues (so far) with any of the neighbors. If I have any issues with the apartment, maintenance is very quick to take care of the issue no matter how big or small. Best part is the location. Its literally in the middle of town so its not far to drive almost anywhere you want to go. Would recommend 👍🏽

I have been a resident since Oct 2019. I love my little porch which gets the morning sun. Mill Creek and the residents is very dog friendly. I love the trees and all the birds and squirrels that come with it, something which most complexes do not offer. The maintenance guys ROCK!! They have been quick to fix any issues even on the weekend!!!

Just recently moved to the mountains after living here for about two years with my cat and my partner, who lived here about two years before I moved in.For being right by UNCW, and surrounded by student living, pricing of rent during our time here was pretty good. We had a 2 bed 1.5 bath that was around $1,100-$1,200 for the full apartment after adding on other fees like water, maintenance, and pet coverage, although I know rent has gone up recently. Compared to student living being cheapest around $700 per room/person before other fees, I believe it was a good deal.Maintenance was quick to complete requests for work done on the apartment and did great jobs, normally in and out. The staff at the office were very nice, and answered questions we had if we ever called or stopped by. They also recently implemented a new mail package room to help keep large packages too big for the mailboxes organized and reduce the amount of contact needed in the pickup process. They had some good amenities like the tennis court, pool, and small gym and laundry rooms located under the main office. They also held fun little community events (with proper procedures for COVID as said in their emails), and during storm season they would keep the community updated through regular emails about the radar and proper procedures for safety, which was definitely appreciated. The neighborhood itself was lovely, especially living back in the first phase apartments, which are the older buildings toward the back of the community. My partner originally lived in the most recent phase of apartments, which were a bit more pricey but the specific build had a bit more room and a full second bath rather than a jack-and-jill style. There werent really many issues living here except for our specific building, which from our knowledge was a reconstruct with the original structure after a fire happened a year before we moved in. The building itself was fine, just some issues with the appliances/hardware and the paint job was a bit funky (I think it was sprayed on paint that left a strange texture and a powdery feel, but Im not sure), but other than that it was a good place for my partner, cat and myself. All in all, a nice community and apartment to live in, not just for students but for families and couples as well.

The apartment size is nice ! They keep up the place alway down to the parking lot. Love the enforced parking. It’s nice to always have a spot to park in front of my apartment. Makes me feel safer coming home at night. The pool is a great place to hang out on the warmer days, and even enjoy the volleyball court . Only real down size is I ended up with the apartment the furthest from the dumpsters. But that’s all made up for by being so close to everything else. Can walk or bike to anywhere. Since moving in here I ride my bike more because of how convenient everything is to here!!!!

Great location, conveniently near shopping and business that we frequent. Leasing staff made doing business with them easy and are all friendly and professional. We choose a place in the newer section which was not close to the pool and volleyball court but very quiet wooded area. They are pet friendly and offer plenty of places to walk our dog, with comfort stations for clean up. Great place for us while we shop for our first home at the beach!

About a month ago, my boyfriend and I moved into Mill Creek all the way from Pennsylvania. The apartment application process can be stressful, but the employees at Mill Creek (especially Joe!) made the experience enjoyable. Joe was attentive and answered all the questions we had (& there were a lot). The apartment is beautiful. Noise is very minimal as the community is quite. We love going to the gym or walking to the pond. Great location... super close to UNCW! After living here a month, I can confidently say we made the right choice with Mill Creek.

I lived here for almost 3 years, starting just after hurricane florence, and it was only alright. Maintenance was always amazing, very responsive and friendly. I did have several issues with the office and the way things are handled. Triple check that they have your renters insurance info, because they will absolutely charge you for it and claim that they are unable to refund the charge despite it being unnecessary. This happened to me on three different occasions before the issue was finally resolved, and only one charge was refunded so I lost some money due to another persons mistake. Communicating with the office staff was often painful and inefficient. The apartment itself was fine, we moved into an unrenovated unit, which I dont personally care too much about. We did have some issues with appliances failing as well as the countertop crumbling and disconnecting from the wall due to age, but maintenance was quick to fix things for us. We never experienced any insect problems or ceiling leaks. While I recognize the need for enforced parking, the lot monitors are not friendly and are often a little sketchy. They do not wear marked clothing, and they walk around the parking lot at night with flashlights. Its concerning, especially because there is no way to identify them as attendants from afar. The phone operator is also incredibly rude, and if you have even the slightest tone to your voice he will raise the cost of taking the boot off of your car. Tread lightly. One important thing to note is that Randall pkwy is VERY loud at night, so if you live in phase 2 be prepared to deal with that. People love to drag race up and down randall all night long.

I lived there for 2 years and had roaches and mold the whole time. The “pest control services” they advertise do little to actually take care of the problem. They spray around the baseboards in your house and then stop showing up. Their lease renewal incentives will not happen. And after recieving an approval on our move out inspection by THEIR employee we were still charged for BS maintenance charges. I would not recommend mill creek to anyone I know.

Literally only doing this again for the giveaway theyre doing...Dont let their we ❤ our residents signs along the road, fool you because the only thing they love is how much they over charge you for what little they provide. They will try to charge you extra money at every turn for anything insignificant. What you can read in most of the other 1 star reviews is what also applies here. Floors/walls falling apart, ac barely works, stairs have needed repairs since we moved in over 3 years ago. They force you to renew your lease (at a slightly raised rent price) 5 months early or you can wait and renew at a significantly higher rate. If there is a storm, they will provide ZERO assistance or any kind of help to protect your apartment and will even FORBID you from putting anything up to protect your windows. The maintenance team is the only respectable part of this entire place.Long story short, you should basically only move here if you absolutely have to and then probably start looking for a new place after you do. 🙂

I lived in Mill Creek Apartments for two years. The first day we moved in we had roaches. After multiple attempts to have the front office make a single real attempts at big control, we were forced to take action by ourselves. After our one year lease renewal, we were offered the choice of having an access wall painted or a carpet cleaning. We choose the carpet cleaning but the front office never sent a carpet cleaner for a full year. We rented a DIY carpet cleaner to clean it ourselves and they still tried to charge us for a carpet cleaning charge after we moved out. I’ve now been notified of a $6 fee for stove top liner replacement. The moral of this story is that Mill Creek will treat you like trash while you’re a tenant then ring you out for every penny they can after you decide to leave the filth ridden complex.

I lived in mill creek originally when I moved to Wilmington 6 1/2 years ago. I’ll be honest the apartment I loved!!! The neighborhood 6 years ago did not make me feel safe...especially being a single lady. I heard a lot of “pops” from down the street and car alarms. It is for that reason that I moved out after living there one year.I’m an honest person. I give honest reviews. I have no reason not to....and my honest opinion TODAY of Mill Creek Apartments is that I love it...I love where I live. My apartment is spacious, well taken care of, if I’ve seen a roach (which was like twice...welcome to NC by the way 🤣) I’ve called the leasing office and they immediately had an exterminator in my apartment to spray. No questions asked. As far as the reason of me leaving before because of the neighborhood, it has gotten ALOT BETTER! A lot of campus living complexes have been built off both kerr and Randall pkwy so that’s made it a ton better just as far as people walking around. I feel more comfortable. Im a single woman and don’t think there’s a place in this crazy world we live in that I might feel safe walking to or from my car at night in a complex....but that’s just me and it is my responsibility to take precautions. I moved back two years ago and have been happy with everything INCLUDING the price of rent. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and informative and there’s not enough stars ⭐️ for the maintenance staff...they rock!!!So before leasing ask yourself if you like to be happy and content....and if the answer is yes then I’d rent from Mill Creek Apartments! 😊

By far the WORST place I have ever lived. I would give zero stars if I could. We couldnt even bare to last the year lease we signed. Like other comments, we also dealt with roach issues so there is by far an issue within the whole complex. Also its a dangerous neighborhood. I had an 8 week old baby when we moved here and within the year- there was a bomb squad who shut down our whole parking lot, people walking around who are clearly on drugs due to there suspicious behavior (peaking into cars, circulating the parking lots, and pooping in the pool... yes pooping in the pool multiple times). Even the office was rude. I have never felt so belittled befote but it was by the staff. There is literally 10 more things to write that were issues but Ive said enough. From the looks of the leasing office, a visitor would think its a fine place to live, think otherwise. I lived there in 2018, and let me just tell you, they have issues with roaches, poor insulation, etc. The biggest problem that I had with living there were the amount of times I had to put in a work order due to bugs. There are many other places in Wilmington to lease that will better appease anyone that wants to live in a clean, quiet apartment. This is not a great apartment complex. Its definitely slightly better than some of the real sleazy, sketchy places in town, but thats not a very high bar. The office people and the maintenance staff are nice enough, and the complex is very conveniently located. But they obviously have a much higher opinion of their apartments than the tenets do, especially when you look at the cost to live here. After Florence, it took them over 6 months to put a wall in our apartment. They did not give us any consideration or credit considering we had to dump heat out of a giant gaping hole in our living room and our electric bill tripled. They just kept saying well, you know, insurance blah, blah, blah. Waiting on an insurance payout is not a reason to leave us with a giant hole on our apartment. Also, every time we do have to request maintenance, while they are pleasant and polite, they dont do a good job. I dont think they have ever fixed a single problem the first time, but they are real quick to leave a little hey I fixed it! note next to the still broken thing. If you are looking for an overpriced apartment, conveniently located in the middle of town, that frequently has poop in the pool and broken down equipment or apartments, this is probably worth looking at. Otherwise, there are plenty of overpriced options very very close by that are substantially higher quality. You should definitely look there first.

I have a had a very positive experience at Mill Creek. Joe Ciolino is a pro as far as lease agents go. The maintenance crew are discreet and polite, and to me, that is a big deal. Most importantly, the entire staff really care about their tenants! I highly recommend this complex.

In moving to Wilmington NC from San Diego, I was looking to rent an apartment sight unseen. Mill Creek seemed to have all the features and amenities I wanted and I was not disappointed. Luke could not have been more supportive and helpful. The staff and maintenance crew are friendly and on top of everything. The complex is close to everything I need. I would recommend Mill Creek to anyone looking in this area.

A lot of people have had bad things to say about living here, probably cuz most people tend to write reviews when theyre angry from 1 experience.I personally never had a bad experience here. Management and all the maintenance people were always 100% helpful and kind, and always went out of their way to do what they could to help me when I needed it. Anytime I had any minor issues with my apartment, Id submit a maintenance request and it would be fixed the next day, sometimes even the day of.I lived in phase II, which is important to note because there is a difference between phase I and phase II. I would definitely recommend this complex to friends. Ive never had an issue with anyone living here. Its pretty quiet, of course with the occasional exceptions, which is to be expected when living in an apartment complex. Super convenient location, as well and the amenities are always well kept. The office hosts a ton of events to get the community involved. I never attended any of the events, but they really go out of their way to do fun things for everyone: families, singles, couples, young, old.It is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for and the cost of living is going up in Wilmington, so Im not that surprised at the price. Again, youre gonna get what you pay for so I could have chosen to live somewhere else but from what I have heard from friends in other apartment complexes, you definitely get your moneys worth.

If you’re a college student looking at signing a lease with Mill Creek Apartments, don’t. The staff, particularly the management, is not there to help you. They are there to put people in apartments and get their money. That is it. They are not going to explain to you what kind of arrangement you are getting into. The main manager will not give you a copy of your lease. “You have to ask for it.” So, ask for it, but better yet, don’t get an apartment with them. You will get screwed over if you end up with an incompatible roommate, even if they know their track record of turning in rent late. They will not explain to you the extent of the lease; “that is between you and your roommate.” When you do ask questions, they will be condescending and may or may not give you beneficial information. They fail to take their responsibility in notifying you of 90% of the legal matters you sign on for. So, if you do choose to sign a lease with Mill Creek Apartments, make sure you have a lawyer with you so you don’t wind up stuck in a lease with a company that doesn’t care about you or your personal safety.

I lived at Mill Creek for a year. I don’t think there is enough space here to adequately explain why I think someone should live anywhere else but there. They fail to communicate or explain anything in their leases. They will change numbers and dates (even if it was written) at every turn and call it policy or as per corporate. They don’t do general maintenance and upkeep like they should. I moved into a different unit when my lease was up and I started getting ridiculous power bills for a 1br 1ba and couldn’t figure out why. I had my AC friend look because no matter what I did I couldn’t keep the unit cool. They looked and the filter hadn’t been changed for a very long time even though that’s something they claimed to do before I moved in. I have multiple other instances where things like this happened but I’ll spare you the novel. They charge way too much in rent for what they offer. If they kept the apartments up properly, had staff that were knowledgeable and accurate, and didn’t change what they say every time it might be a decent place to live. Overall I would give them a 0/5 if I could.

Do not even bother trying to call them. I was on hold for an hour and 45 minutes, the only way to get your questions answered is to go there in person. Every leasing agent will give you a different answer, and the guy who woks there, dont remember his name, he is nice but a complete idiot!

The new office staff has no idea what they are doing it took them over a month to process my renewal application even with me going in there and calling which is pretty much the only way to get things done. It took them a week to replace the burned out lights on my stairwell even with me emailing and calling every single day. They dont fully explain anything about what your signing or going to have to pay and then they forget you paid for any of it when you ask why it hasnt been processed. They also lose mail and half the time I try to go in there I cant because theyre out on tours and have nobody in the office. Its pretty much just a circle of leasing consultants blaming whatever issue you have on the previous leasing consultant you spoke too.

There were a lot of bumps in picking and settling into my new apartment from my old in Wilmington. I researched about 14 places before deciding on Mill Creek. The management team handled all the issues that arose quickly and went above and beyond to make sure I had a good move-in experience (fantastic response time and shout out to Joseph). My nest is lovely and well-built and the amenities are top notch for the area. I highly recommend checking Mill Creek out for yourself before judging based on reviews. Unhappy people always give more feedback. Im giving a voice to a happy camper! Ive also met several of the other staff members (maintenance and they have new security) and everyone is friendly and quick to help.
