First, I want to say how friendly and professional Steve and Angel are. However, we will not use Wilmington Tire & Auto again. On Friday we spent over $1200 to get new brakes and a few other things done for our car. We picked the car up Friday night only to find you had to push all the way to the floor to get the car to stop. Unfortunately, they arent open on Saturdays. We work Monday through Friday 8-5, so its a bit difficult to get our cars in during that time. Being concerned for our safety and not wanting to miss work, we brought the car to a different shop on Saturday. After a quick inspection and testing the brakes, it was obvious there was air in the brake line. Thankfully, the other shop fixed the issue. I understand mistakes happen, but this is the second time Wilmington Tire & Auto messed up our brakes. Im very disappointed, I have always like going here but at this point I cant trust the work that is done for our cars.

I trailered my boat from Charlotte to spend the weekend at the beach. Upon arrival I realized my driver side tire was very loose. I put my boat in the water and dropped my trailer off at Wilmington tire and auto.David an outstanding customer service hero was able to quickly locate a new axle for me. He and his coworker Zack, the mechanic from heaven, were able to fix the trailer on a Friday evening and get me back up and running so I wasn’t stranded in the water.When I picked up the trailer after hours Zack even took his personal time to show me what had happened with my axle and give me advice to avoid issues in the future.Thank you Wilmington tire and auto! We discovered a screw in our tire before we had our 4 hour road trip home. We called them and they put us on the list. We went and in less than an hours time they had us repaired and on the road for the amazing price of only $31. They were friendly and professional and super accommodating.

Wilmington Tire & Auto Saved the Day!When I had a tire blow out on my 66 Corvette because the New tires I bought elsewhere turned out to be 15 Years Old, Steve, Justin and the team at Wilmington Tire & Auto literally saved the day.Not only did they have the right tires to fit my 54 year old classic Corvette, The knew all about the Knock-Off wheels and how to correctly, and safely mount new tires.They even stayed a bit late on a Saturday afternoon to be sure i had 4, safe, actually New tires, properly mounted and installed on my Corvette.Theyre now my Go-To shop in Wilmington!

Had a screw in a tire - without an appointment they repaired the tire in about 30 minutes but left some marks on the wheel from the tire separator machine - the amazing part of the visit was the fact they brought this up and then scheduled a repair with a portable wheel repair company the next day - customer service was amazing and the experience went from routine to exceptional - highly recommended for their work and professionalism!

Do not go anywhere else for tire/brake work. I had an issue about 4 months after some extensive work was done and these guys went above and beyond to ensure the issue was taken care of the same day. World class customer service and understanding people.

My 4th time using wilmington tire and auto. They are always spot on. Went to Firestone and there was a 4 hour wait for a simple rotate and balance. Drove 10 minutes up the road here and they had me in and out. Amazing service and the guys there are genuine.

Was told by another company 2 tires were spreading. They looked at them is replacing one tire because it had a bump would have been $800.00 or more price now is maybe $200.00. Will not be going back to the other guys. Happy my son told me about these guys. Yeah!

Sadly, I am writing a negative review. My daughter just moved to Wilmington from Arizona. She had a tire issue and took it to Wilmington Tire and Auto. The tire service was in line with the positive reviews but other issues were a definite issue.They did an alignment on her car and she purchased two new tire in preparation for a trip to Virginia. On her travels to Virginia she noticed her car was pulling to the left which it wasnt doing before being aligned. She called and they were nice and told her to bring it back in to be checked when she returned to NC. I also drove the car to check how it drove and was very surprised that they let her leave with the noticeable pull to the left.Upon putting it into the shop, she was now told that the frame was bent and that alignment was within specs. It would cost her $98 to TRY to fix the frame with no guarantee. This was an immediate RED FLAG to me. If she wasnt having issues before getting two new tires and an alignment which wasnt correctly done, how could a new issue not have been identified when they did the other work?She also had a check engine light come on when she was returning to NC. So, asked for them to determine the cause while re-doing the alignment. The cost for a diagnostic test was $98.98 but she did not receive any paperwork showing the diagnostic test results. Now, we had a water pump leak, valve cover gaskets, along with the bent frame. $1200 plus was the estimate not including the diagnostic tests cost.Needless to say, we picked up the car and took it to another shop. She paid for another diagnostic test, another alignment (which did not require fixing a bent frame). They stated that it was not aligned properly which we believe since there is no pulling now. Also, we were informed that the water pump and valve/gaskets are still under warranty which needed to be serviced at a dealership so, the car is now at the dealership to be checked.So, tires...yes but other services...get a very poor rating. The person on the phone was not friendly when we questioned him about the services. He was rather short and unhappy with our questioning of his diagnosis. My daughter went in and he was nicer in person but we were happy to be trying another shop in Wilmington and we will not recommend nor use their services again.

I cant say enough about the level of service Wilmington Tire and Auto provided me when i was in a desperate situation. I was days away from driving from Wilmington, NC to Marathon, Florida with my Son and Father to spend a week in the Keys on vacation. THe trip had been planned for months and we would be trailering my boat down there with us. I knew I probably needed new tires on my boat trailer to make the long trip but in trying to remove the wheels, the lug nuts were corroded on the stems so bad that the stems were breaking off when trying to loosen the lug nuts. I also realized for the first time that one of my springs was shot and would never make the 13 hour trip to Marathon. I went to several boat dealerships in the area for help but all of their service departments were so busy and backed up that none of them had time to repair my trailer within the three days I had left before leaving for Marathon and I was beginning to think that it would be near impossible to get the trailer repaired in time. The trip would have been ruined if I couldnt make the necessary repairs to my boat trailer and panic began to set in. Out of desperation, I took my boat trailer to Wilmington Tire and Auto, who I knew did not deal in boat trailer repairs. But I explained my dire situation to one of their service writers, Josh Harvey. I had already bought all of the replacement parts for the trailer (tires, rims, springs, hubs, u-bolts and nuts). Josh told me to leave the trailer and all of the parts with him and he would see what he could do. He called me three hours later to let me know that he got two of his technicians on the job with a torch to cut off all of the old bolts to the tires, hubs and springs and had all of the replacement parts installed and the trailer was ready to be picked up. He literally saved my vacation. I cant thank him and Wilmington Tire and Auto enough for their service and ability to recognize my sense of urgency, especially since this was for a boat trailer which is out of their typical scope of service they provide. Blew a tire on 40 coming from Raleigh. Called these guys on the way in to town, 30 min out. They were very busy when we arrived but they managed to get us 4 tires mounted and back on the road in 45 min, minimizing the impact. They could have easily told us they couldn’t get to it but they took care of us! Awesome operation, nice staff and reasonable pricing.

I know there are a lot of good tire shops here, but here is another one, Wilmington Tires and Auto on oleander dr…..Steve at the front counter helped me out getting a new tire for my vehicle. i had a crazy screw puncture in my tire that went in at a 45 degree angle and horse shoed back out. it wasn’t repairable and Steve explained throughly why.anyway……great prices, professionalism, and most importantly they did NOT scratch my rim….thanks steve

I live In Maryland, have a student in Wilmington. First visit was for a flat tire that they patched when easily could have sold us a tire. We have been back for anything needed since, and they always have taken good care of us. Most recently, on Sunday before Thanksgiving, car was smoking and we took it to them first thing Monday morning. They called me and let me know it was the radiator that was cracked. They promised it would be ready by noon on Tuesday. It was ready at 10:00 and it was driven 6 hours home to Maryland that day with zero issues. I would 100% recommend them for anything. Came here to check out my car because it had stopped being able to steer, and then when they checked that we asked to replace the brakes, but to tell us what was wrong FIRST.The guy calls us, lets us know he had done the brakes and that we could come get the car, that everything has been fixed.So we show up, start talking to the guy. $500 for the brakes.Oh and yeah the reason why my car was undrivable is because there was a hole in the rack and pinion and that would be another $1,300 to fix if we wanted.TLDR; Guy knew my car was worth less than the repair needed to make it operable, went ahead and did the brakes, then told us the pricing to actually fix the car.

BEST car/truck maintenance center in the area!!! I would not take my car anywhere else!! Not only are they honest, reliable and tell you the TRUTH on what is needed to repair your car...they will also tell you future things to keep a eye on and approximate cost so you have time to make arrangements or save $$. Its very rare to be able to say I never question a service repair person...but I can honestly say they have been always 100% accurate and my car has been running and been reliable with no problems. I drive a 2008 yes 11 years old Honda CRV with over 205000 miles on it and it runs like brand new! LOVE this place and especially the folks at the front desk area and managers!!

Called in to check on tire size, scheduled appointment next day. I arrived for appointment. Lobby was nicely designed with coffee station, work desk and spaced out for covid-19. I was on the road in an hour with a new set of Michelin. I liked that they were not affiliated to Goodyear. They also offer other services as well. Ill be back in the future for routine services.

I have been looking for a quality car shop I can trust for over 20 yrs. On multiple occasions I have thought I needed something fixed or replaced and they have told me it wasn’t necessary to do so. If you make an appointment the guys are on top of it and will get you in and out quickly. I tell my friends and family to check them out and so should you.

I went to Wilmington tire after I was in a accident, while there on vacation. I damaged wheel and multiple front end parts. Mr. Richard the owner advised me to a body shop for free estimate for body and front end. He also sent me to a salvage yard for factory wheel, that was required to properly align my truck. Got estimate and wheel and decided to let Wilmington tire do front end repairs. They had accident damage done next morning. He called informing of ball joint non accident related on other side and 4x4 part damaged in accident his mechanic discovered. Told him to fix it and glad I did. Had truck over 10 years, never drove so good since I had it.The service I received from the owner and the mechanic, reminded of the good old days when local shops really care and provide genuine customer service. Very refreshing these days when big box chains feel you have to use them, you dont in Wilmington. Hell of a front end man. Had truck aligned several times and recent. Had play in ball joint for a while. Guess its the difference in getting something done and getting it done rightOzzie

Traveling from NJ I had a blow out and needed 4 new tires. They recommended a set of Bridgestone for my minivan and had them installed under 1 hour with an oil change. Very professional. Would recommend to anyone. 5 stars all around.

The employees at Wilmington Tire and Auto were kind and friendly to me. I got four new tires and wheel alignment for a reasonable price, and they also did my annual inspection. However, I am giving them 3 stars instead of 5 for not enforcing the statewide mask mandate.I am a scientist and public health enthusiast, so COVID-19 safety is an issue I deeply care about. If you are like me and are actively trying to keep yourself and your community as safe as possible during the COVID-19 era, avoid this business.All three employees who work behind the counter were not wearing a mask both times I visited the store (today, January 11th and Saturday, January 9th). Granted, they did have shields set up between them and the customer. I was still upset with their lack of masks, though, especially considering they had a sign on the door declaring cloth masks are required. The risk of viral spread is reduced with the shields, but the air particles the employees exhale are still able to circulate freely throughout the room.As I was waiting in the lobby on Saturday for my car inspection, a customer entered the store without wearing a mask. I didnt expect the employees to ask her to wear a mask because they of course were not wearing one themselves. The customer proceeded to sit in the waiting area amongst the other four or five customers (who were all wearing masks). The chairs are rather spread out, which is better than nothing, but I still believe all people inside the area need to follow the mask mandate in addition to social distancing to keep everyone safe.Then, today, at least four customers entered the building without masks on, making me extremely uncomfortable. An elderly gentleman brought in some breakfast and coffee, so he asked the employees if he could take his mask off. One of the employees said, It is completely up to you. Its a free country. I understand that the employees dont care about being exposed to the virus, but I was upset that they didnt stand up for the other customers in the store, myself included, and allowed us to be exposed.Because of the lack of care for the safety of their customers, I will not be returning to Wilmington Tire and Auto. Thank you for helping me with my car and for your kindness, but the public health risk is not worth it for me to ever return.

I should know better than going to a place that specializes in break inspection... They did check my brakes for free, but they found a whole bunch of other stuff that I didnt need so I was told it was going to be $737 I took my estimate and I declined service

I have an old 1994 Nissan D21 pickup. Uses P195/75R14 tires. Kind of a hard tire to find, most sold now are 15 inch or larger. Josh from WTA took the challenge and found Uniroyal Tigerpaws. Great tires. I was worried because of the limited availability that the date of manufacture might be old. Not a problem, the manufacture date is less than a year from installation. Thanks to Josh, Tom, and installer Jeff for a job well done and a genuinely good experience. Certainly I will return, embarrassed to say I have been in Wilmington 20 years and didn’t know of their existence.

Twice I have needEd tire service for both of my vehicles, and twice I have treated with the most polite, friendly service people. There were no “stories” after they quoted me the price and time when my car would me ready. Their place of business is kept very clean, as their prices are very fair and competitive!!

Went in to fix a broken sway bar. They kept to the price they quoted me and it was $60 cheaper then my first quote. Had the car back to me in just a few hours. I will be using them again.
