Sadly we never heard a word after having the owner come out to our house and look around. We were told it being summer and hot in the attic no work could be done at the time and hed get us an estimate. It NEVER came still to this day we wait. No Im kidding were doing it ourselves... Saved us a lot of money though!

These guys are great! They are always quick to respond and are willing to explain anything in laymens terms. Total Comfort is a locally owned company who will respond faster than a bigger company. I use them for both my own house and my rentals. Ive referred them when my friends have needed units replaced and they have always beat the original quote they got. Truly respectable contractor in a town where finding honest guys that will show up can be difficult.

My unit stopped working in the middle of a 3 week heat wave and within 2 days Jim and his crew installed a brand new unit even though they were extremely busy. If there was higher stars than 5 Jim should have them. Had issue with heating. We spoke on the phone to discuss issue. he was kind enough to contact my tenants directly and make all the arrangements. When he called me back he educated me on situation walked through it all. It was obvious that he has had yrs of experience and very knowledgeable, this was very important to me. They were punctual. When I first moved to Wilmington, I had broken a/c which I figured I couldnt afford, so I never had it fixed. For 22 years (and many generations of floor fans). Finally, when it was time for a new heat pump, someone referred me to Jim at Total Comfort. He diagnosed a problem - a mis-sized unit for my house, put in a new heat pump, helped me with all the tax return paperwork for the energy savings replacement, and proved to me I could afford a/c. I meant to go on an annual maintenance contract, but somehow never got around to it. So after over 9 years, the heat pump he put in started to loose its cooling ability. The first problem with it in over 9 years. And thank goodness, Jim and Total Comfort were still out there. He came out and fixed the non-functioning fan and topped off the new better Freon replacement in under an hour. Im probably good for another 9+ years now, but I guess this time I will get the annual maintenance. He also cheerfully did the extra work of replacing a filter in the ceiling that I couldnt get to, sweeping the vents, sweeping up the resulting dust bunnies, and wedging my ladder back into its small space in a closet. I cannot recommend this company highly enough.

Jim and Curt came out to look at our HVAC unit that stopped running.They returned our call the same day, came out the same day, ordered the part and came out the next day to repair our unit. They called before they came and told us approx what time they would be at our home to fix our unit. They were professional and personable: answered our questions about our thermostat and our unit. I never write customer reviews but I decided to make an exception to rave about Jim at Total Comfort Services. His customer service skills are first-rate and he delivers on his promises even when his schedule is overwhelming. My unit stopped cooling before Memorial Day and, despite being swamped, Jim made a commitment to service my unit and delivered on the day he promised despite the long commute. TCS has earned my loyalty based on their excellent customer service.

I own multiple properties around town and Im not sure what I would do without these guys. Total Comfort handles all of our heating and air repairs, maintenance and new installs. Jim and Curt just installed new American Standard units in two separate homes last month and everything is working perfectly as expected. Total Comfort has always been good to our family. They replaced an old and inefficient system for us a few years ago, and it has really made a difference in our electric bill. I can not say enough good things about this company. The most outstanding customer service Ive ever experienced. Our air went out on a Sunday evening and within 20 minutes a tech was here and diagnosed the problem. Part was ordered and they promptly repaired it working around our schedule. They are knowledgable, reasonable priced and genuinely nice people. They have followed this same service every time Ive been in need of a repair.

I bought a new HVAC from them last year, because of their offering a far longer warranty for parts and labor than others, plus a good price, and friendly service. They’ve also been friendly and on-time with service appointments for tune-ups since then, with a window of just 15 minutes vs. wasting 4-8 hours for other companies I’ve dealt with. American Standard is the same quality / technology as Trane. The owner Jim, is more than a salesperson. He’s able to do the engineering and specify the ideal system for your home. Been using TCS for almost 6 years and totally satisfied. Prefer company that knows me and my HVAC system and having same persons perform semi annual checkup. They also monitor my system and receive alerts such as when power went out, they called me to ask if system was working.

Had an air handler go out at my house on Memorial Day weekend. Jim came out next day and found a burned out fan motor in the handler. Went back to his shop and brought a spare to install. Checked the outside unit and drains in the pouring rain. Total Comfort services my residential and business HVACs. No complaints and good service.
