The equipment is nice and well maintained, there’s plenty of each different type of machine so what you want is always available and the gym itself is clean. So far, every staff member I’ve dealt with has been friendly and helpful. The hydro-beds are pretty sweet too.

First time being here and man it was a boat load of equipment, which is a good thing. Definitely a 5 star gym. They have really well maintained locker rooms which include a Sauna. The bathrooms are also super clean as well as the around it. Machines are high end and well maintained. Staff was super friendly and always willing to help when needed. The gym is full of motivational people to help you out and keep you going. Didn’t feel like a “gym” environment at all which made it more willing to go to. The gym itself is fine, nothing to write home about but it gets the job done. However this last time I was there the staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. It’s like they hire the youngest people they can find, who obviously have no experience in how to interact with paying clients. They need to better train their staff on how to act professional and have basic social skills.

Amazing. Cheap, compared to other high profile gyms, has every machine imaginable. It is neat and clean, and well maintained. I fell this is better than power house gym (the gym I used ebfore this).

They won’t let you try a class before you commit to a membership.I called them this morning to see if I could try one ofthe classes (Zumba) and they told me that I had to have a membership first in order to try it. Ok... the whole reason that I would like to try a class is to see if I like it before I committing to a membership with them. Weird! I have worked out at many gyms over the years and have literally never heard of this. It is pretty much universal in the industry to allow at least a day trial or something.

Ok so first time here. Let me start off by saying my hats off to the owners for opening even though our elected governor (no I didnt vote for her) has a personal vendetta against gyms because it doesnt fit her political narrative. The gym inside is great the social distancing was in effect and every other cardio machine unavailable. Very clean place

It is a decent gym for the price but I do not like all of the hidden fees and the way they sneak charges into your billing. Spent near 400 dollars for a 10 dollar membership in only a month and a half.

This gym use to be really good until few weeks ago. Workout equipments are in gr8 shape, however restrooms are usually out of paper towels. This gym got ONE water fountain refill station, which has been out of order for 2 weeks now. Dont know how can a city let a gym operate without a single working water fountain, seems like management is getting comfy making there patrons buy water.Update 2/26: I don’t want to sound like I have something against this place, but not having toilet paper and paper towel every few days is not an hygienic condition. This is 3rd instance in a month, 2 of them early in the morning around 6 AM in the morning and one in the late evening. Wish staff checks changing room at opening and closing and reloads them. This place sometimes make planet fitness look like a Premium 5-Star spa.

THIS PLACE IS AN ABSOLUTE JOKE!!.. My account was set on auto payment for my membership. I guess for whatever reason this card was no longer being charged for my membership. With the pandemic I was not going to the gym and was not too concerned with the $24.95 per month enough to cancel. It never dawned on me to be sure I was being charged for my membership.Well, without one single phone call, email or letter asking me to pay for services, or to tell me my account is no longer being charged, they turned me into collections? One simple phone call form them could have prevented this. I would have given them additional information to set my account to auto draft. Instead, they do nothing to collect only to turn me into collections. Smart, now you will receive absolutely no money and I will never be a member of this gym again. Pretty pathetical way to run a business.

This is becoming my home away from home. I was skeptical of coming here now I cant stop coming the staff is friendly and knowledgeable I enjoy my time when Im here, it goes by so fast. Keep up the good work crunch Westland

I LOVE this gym. Great workers, great equipment and great people that attend. I just wish machines would get fixed a little faster and sometimes its hard to find a cleaning station thing that works 😅

Not recommended to any AFRICAN AMERICAN that works out with a gym bag.... Ive been coming to crunch for about 8 months now with a bag, A little over a month ago the NEW GM decides to tell me I can no longer bring my bag onto the gym floor but fails to tell the rest of the gym members.... so I kept my bag in the locker room, until i constantly had to remind the GM to do his job by snitching on people about having a bag on the floor because I felt singled out. Yesterday I was done snitching, I saw multiple members with their bags on the floor And literally watched the GM walk right over someones bag while showing a new member the gym so I brought mine out of the locker room.... Today I walk into the gym the GM tells me my MEMBERSHIPS BEEN REVOKED! I go to the gym for a release not to bring more stress into my life.... just trying to workout in peace thats it!! Ill continue to post pictures of people with their bag on the gym floor because I have friends that go here to show chrunch fitness discriminates against certain looking people!! Unacceptable!!!

I recently switched to crunch in westland after being with planet fitness for so long. Ava and Sarah at the front desk were so helpful with membership information and providing me with a tour around the facility. The gym is really clean, the womans lockeroom was fresh smelling and clean which is always a bonus. I will 100% recommend this location to everybody I know.Thanks crunch fitness!!

I like this location a lot. They have great machines, personal training, HIIT training. It can be pretty crowded so I try to go around the same time, the crowd is always cool & the trainers/ staff are great! Everytime i see paper laying on the ground I pick it up, people like to leave their stuff everywhere and not pick up. I’ve been coming to this location for two years, I like it a lot!

The actual gym itself is fine, but the billing system seems a little shady. They insist on customers providing a debit/credit card number, and have mysteriously extracted money from my account for purchases I never made. Im still waiting for an explanation and reimbursement.

I love this gym and everything about it. It is where I found myself and grew so much as an individual. I am very comfortable at this gym and promote this gym to as many people as I can. Very affordable and has everything you could possibly need. It is always clean and staff is always so friendly and welcoming. No gym compares. I have been here for almost 3 years now!

BE ADVISED: A Membership here will cost you AT LEAST $100 in Extra Fees. The Signup Fee is $50... Then 45 Days later they will Charge you another “Yearly Fee” of $50 (Even if you Cancel BEFORE the first 45 Days.) It makes me understand why they charge $4 a month to pay with a Credit or Debit Card (They don’t want people “Stopping Payment” and raises that “Basic Membership” to $20 a month.)When I asked the Manager why they didn’t just charge me upfront, she told me “This is how the owner does it, they don’t want the sticker shock”... In other words, “They don’t want you knowing what you are signing up to pay for”. So that’s an easy decision! My other Gym Membership might cost more, but it’s LEGIT, it has better facilities and isn’t located in a Strip Mall.

FRAUD ALERT! SCAM ARTISTS WITH BILLING and Advertising. BEWARE! I signed up for month to month service. I needed temporary 2 months membership. Advertised cost is $9.99 for annual and $14.99 for month to month. At sign-up, they disclose total due was over $50 which included an account creation fee / processing fee to cover their admin fee, although i entered the admin data myself using their front desk tablet. Credit Card was used to bill monthly renewal. Representatives failed to disclose that credit cards monthly bills $5 more, so the first renewal billed $19.95 instead of $14.95. Then 45 days into it, they billed Annual Membership fee, although i never opted for an annual membership, i declared it wanted month-to-month. They never disclosed this fee at sign up although i asked all the right questions. Why would a gym bill all members an annual membership if they are on a month-to-month contract? That was another near $50 charge. And to crown it all, a week before the expiration of my 2nd month, i went to the front desk to cancel my account to find out i had to notify them 10 days in advance or they would charge me an additional month. So i was charged a final month and i did not use their club one time the third month. What a racket!So the true monthly fee for two months to me was near $80 per month. If this is not fraud / scam / false advert, i do not know what is!I challenge the management of Crunch to dispute the above information, i will post pictures of my billing to this review if need be.If a manager wants to make this right for me, post your name to the response and i will call you back.

When I go to the gym I want weights and I want myself thats all you need. Everything else is extra! This place is very clean, alot of equipment, and the staff will always help you. LIFT LIKE ITS YOUR LAST DAY!

I just signed up in August. Had the free assessment, that was cool until I layer understood clearly I was stuck in a 12 week contract with trainer. No one ever gave me copies of that or my original membership agreement.. but they easily charge my card every-time.. im in this blind. When I asked for copies no one knows how to send to printer. I tried to go online to look at my account and its saying my member card number don’t exist.. I feel im being taken advantage of.. I have been very patient and its wearing thin.. this place runs business very poorly no one seems to take the customers finances or legal paper work seriously.. I will be contacting the news about this issue. I thought I was joining somewhere who was better than planet fitness. I could’ve stayed there instead had I known something so simple would be an issue

I enjoy the tanning beds, massage chairs, and the variety of exercise equipment available at Crunch Fitness. The staff is very knowledgeable and willing to share their knowledge to improve their members overall fitness.

My wife is having a very alarming & terrible experience. Her and her best friend wanted to try out this gym among others in order to decide which one would be their permanent home. After experiencing Edge Fitness they decided to leave crunch. Her friend went into the gym to cancel her membership and everything was done perfectly. My wife entered the gym in January to break the news and cancel her membership, she she followed the same procedure as her friend and was told her membership was cancelled... UNFORTUNATELY THIS IS NOT THE CASE... after repeated conversations with employees at Crunch Fitness... it is March and they are still not able to stop the auto drafts! She had to ask her bank to reject any payments associated with Crunch Fitness because for some unexplainable reason this company cannot stop pulling out of her bank account... I strongly advise anyone in this area to go with Edge Fitness or another gym if you value the control of your bank account. The unfortunate part is the gym itself is nice, the staff seemed very nice when I visited.*If they do not allow you to use a debit card that is not linked to your bank account I would not go to the gym... unless you have a separate bank account for auto draft items, that your main income is not deposited into.

I love this place. Ive worked out here in the past in California, and this is exactly what I expected to see here. Bumper weights, free weights-heavy dumbbells to 120 so i can lift. Squat racks, field turfs and bags! So much stuff for a great price

Crunch Fitness - Westland is a great place to workout, the atmosphere is phenomenal, COVID safety measures are properly in place and Star Smith is a great influence and asset to your fitness establishment!

I called to reinstate my membership after Covid and gyms were opened only to be told my account wasn’t frozen like everything online I read but was cancelled without my knowledge or me doing that cancelling. I wanted to come back but was told I would have to repay all the enrollment fees and only had the membership 2 months before things were shut down. I called, wrote and email and no one responded back or was helpful at all. Very poor business practices.

Cancelled my membership in September. Received a letter in the mail today from a collection agency saying I owe crunch Westland $250... this place is a fraud/scam and should be avoided at all costs.

Can’t go wrong with crunch. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the gym is a lot cleaner than most gyms in the area, and the equipment is well taken care of and still mostly new.

I usually go to the crunch in Ann Arbor, but this one is close to my work so I go here once a week. Easily worst gym I’ve been in for pandemic purposes since the reopening. Only about 60 percent of the people have their mask covering their face, most people wear it around your neck. While this is a representation of the people of the area, it’s also a representation of the lack of effort given by the workers. It has to be wear a mask or be kicked out. Hope management can fix this...

Ava was one of the worst associates to deal with. Kiki is so nice and welcoming. Ava, was rude, kicked us out of the gym because she was having a mood. We are paying customers and this is has definitely pushed me away as a customer. Whats worse is two other customers and I are just taking our money somewhere else. Powerhouse here I come!

Wow, I think the list of dislikes could take up the entire grid of dislikes. Douchy people, money hungry management and lets not forget how unclean this place is. No one enforced masks, nor properly wiping down equipment. Allows new members to buy bring a guest then after a few visits, they say its not allowed to bring a guest, but.... They (said guest) can sign up for a membership... But only the same or higher value package... Completely and utterly the worst gym ever

When I go to Crunch Fitness - Westland, I am inspired by all the members around me (who are seriously working out,) that I can do it too! I started my own program and Shawna, one of the fitness instructors is wonderful about making herself available to encourage and instruct on how to maximize a workout. One of my favorite classes is Yoga. Mary W. is one of the best Yoga instructors I have known. I think she wakes up at night with new ways to stretch and strengthen a muscle you didnt even know you had. Please keep up the good work!

The Crunch here in Westland is a great gym! It allows you to be versatile with your workouts with all of there equipment that is always up to par. You shouldn’t be going in doing the same thing every day as there is more than enough to workout with. The staff is amazing at keeping the place neat and clean. They’re also great people as they are inviting and kind people who you could even have a conversation with. The trainers are great and understanding and not a**holes like other trainers. They only want you to get better and will do what it takes to get you there. All in all, this is a great gym that I’ve been apart of for over a year and never had problems with!

I was anxious about working out during this time but the facilities are very clean and the staff is amazing. Matthew gave me great customer service and quickly took care an issue I had.

Still awful from a year ago. I switched to another home gym but still visit here from time to time since it is open later. The employees are nice but mask compliance is only at about 30%.

Horrible service! Went in looking for 4 memberships and unexpectedly made the front desk attendant named “Kiki” upset by wanting to open up 4 new memberships. I guess it might have been just too much work for her. Then continued to ignore me and talk to her friends while using profanity. I patiently waited for a few minutes expecting help soon and then was asked by members and Kiki the attendant “how much my jewelry cost.” Overall, probably as a matter of fact definitely the WORST service I have ever received. Your much better off going to powerhouse gym where service, staff and other members are capable of treating each other with mutual respect. Considering I do reviews for a living, I’ve never got the chance to review a gym until now and I can say with confidence in terms of horrible service this gym is hard to beat!

I have been a member since before this location opened. It is no secret that there was a rough patch the last few months. So happy to see all of the positive changes they are making!! A lot cleaner and more professional.

Im not sure what going on at this location but been having issues here. Seems paper towel dispensers are always empty or broke tanning beds have been out of bulbs over a week now. I say something to the workers and I get a response like theres nothing we can do. Like really call repairs on it. I have someone interested however they are thinking twice now. And to be honest I too am thinking of canceling my fill membership and going else were.

I’ve been going to Crunch since it’s opened and it’s the best gym I’ve ever been to! The gym is extremely clean and the front desk staff is always helpful. Kara is so friendly and up beat in the mornings which makes it easy to wake up and get the day started! I work out every morning at 5am and the gym is always opened on time allowing me to get my workout in and get to work on time without skipping a beat. Love Crunch Fitness Westland!!!

Leann a relatively new trainer was grouped up with her friend sitting and fat shaming basically, talking trash about multiple people . Will never give crunch another dime . Told the manager and nothing was done.

Ive been coming to this Crunch location for about 5 months now. Honestly, its like your average gym with locker rooms, a sauna, all types of exercise equipment, tanning, and hydro chairs. BUT, what makes this place extremely unique (and within about 10 years Ive joined about 7 gyms) is their HIIT classes. I love absolutely love these classes. They really push you and you start seeing results over time. I aim to attend these classes 2-3 times per week. Now be aware that they do have like 3 different membership prices and each membership price comes with certain benefits. The HIIT classes are obviously included in the higher price category.One thing Id like to see is for this gym to be BIGGER. To have two floors, bigger locker rooms, more ab machines, and maybe even a track would be fantastic. And now that winter is here, the foot traffic is really flowing in since its too cold to exercise outside. Fingers crossed!

This a great gym. No matter what your goals are they have the equipment and staff to help you achieve them! The personal training sessions are incredibly helpful as well. Ive had a great experience here ever since I became a member when this location first opened.

Eva the employee was super unprofessional, she called the cops on because she didnt like the way I had my face protected and covered when wanting to scan in. She refused to help me out even though my mask was double layered covering my whole face instead she showed me attitude for 30 min not checking me. When I asked her if I could speak to a manager to deescalate the situation she proceeded to lie and say she was the manager at the gym. I have full video evidence and will be contacting corporate and my lawyer.

WOW! Simply stated...WOW! Great facility and great equipment, plus friendly and knowledgeable staff. (Who knew that Fish Oil - or eating more cold water fish could help with my knee troubles? Michael did, and now I do too)At some point, a treadmill is a treadmill, so the staff and the class offerings is what brought me to WOW! As I mentioned, I have knee problems and have been struggling to find some type of aerobic activity that I could to do, other than an elliptical or stationary bike.I have tried other classes, but was always a bit self-conscious when I had to (in full view of everyone) modify my exercise. Well, the group room at Crunch is HUGE, so there was plenty of room for me to hide in the back. That didnt last too long, as I quickly noticed that there were a lot of people, of all shapes and sizes, modifying their exercises as well. so now I dont even give a thought to where I plunk myself down.Last, they have the absolute best sound systems I have ever seen in a fitness center. I know that doesnt really have anything to do with the functionality of a gym, but it sure makes it more fun!Diversity, Knowledge, Encouragement, and Entertaining. Again, I can sum the whole Crunch experience in one word... WOW!

If I could pick one thing I like most about this gym, it would probably be the amazingly friendly and outgoing staff. I have not had anything but great experiences with each and every one of them, and its clear how much effort they put in keeping the gym clean. On top of that, Crunch is all around a spacious and well-maintained gym, with a great atmosphere, that I would recommend to anybody looking for either a casual or a hardcore gym experience.

Best gym I’ve been to with a well over reasonable price! The thing that’s would be a downfall that’s they’re not a 24 hour gym yet. Other then the the employees are great, large variety of equipment and its all new, the weight have a large for people who want to lift a little heavier, great membership feature. Top of the line gym. I recommend it all.

I came in as a guest and forgot my ID when I left - I called the store after hours hoping to get an answer so I can pick up my ID to go out on this Saturday night. Maverick answered the phone when he didn’t have to after hours and was nice enough to get my ID back to me. I appreciate Maverick going above and beyond to make this happen for me; thank you Maverick!!!!!!

Just joined. My first impression is very positive. It looks super clean. It’s big with lots of equipment. I’m going to love using the sauna. The guy who enrolled me was super nice, knowledgeable and patiently answered all of my questions. I can’t wait to get my orientation on Tuesday. I mainly joined because Crunch has a good variety of group classes. Can’t wait to get started!

I really enjoyed my experience at crunch gym. I was amazed at the equipment in the gym. The staff was exceptional and bent over backwards to make sure everything went well on my first initial visit. They have a really great class selection and the weights are phenomenal. If you haven’t been you should go you really enjoy the experience.

Awesome place to work out! I can grunt, drop weights and the equipment is nice and new. Just wish they were open 24/7. I had to resign up for planet fitness because of the hours. Don’t get me wrong it’s a dope gym I just have a hard time getting up early in the morning before work to go. Definitely recommend!!!

The management team in this place is terrible. They tell you they’ll get back with you in a couple of hours, but it’ll be weeks and YOU eventually have to call back because they lied.

Crunch has everything that I look for when it comes to lifting weight and has great equipment for cardio work as well! The staff stays on top of keeping the gym clean. On top of that the staff is very respectful and nice towards everyone. I would recommend this gym for anyone that wants to get a good workout in.

My mom and I came in to check out the gym yesterday afternoon, we went on a tour with Amanda.She was amazing...not only did she take her time with us but she catered everything to us. She got us set up with a trainer next week too. We’re so happy with our choice, we can’t wait to start classes. Thanks Amanda!

Crunch is by far the best gym in the area. It’s not even close. It blows the “judgement free zone” away. The equipment, the staff, the whole attitude of Crunch is all deserving of a 5 star rating. And that’s not even mentioning what you get for the price. For only $9.95 a month you get to use a ton of free weights, dumbbells and training equipment. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. All in all, Crunch is awesome. Hope they open up more soon. And no I do not work there. I am just totally impressed.

I have been coming to Westland Crunch even before the location opened Parking lot workouts. I have purchased the Peak Plus Results package and have totally loved the Ride class, Small Group of Camp Crunch and the various group classes. The instructors will show you modification if you let them know of your issues before class, for me I have a wrist issue and some days my knees. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Have questions ... Just ask.

Pleasantly surprised by how complete of a gym this is. Between the cardio equipment, weightlifting rigs, massage chairs, bicycle room, and tanning beds, Crunch is a one stop shop for all things health and wellness.

Great gym! Cleanest gym in M.i. I would say.The staff is always smiling and in a good mood! My only issue is the benches are bolted down very close together. No room to do flys or even bench with dumbbells. Otherwise, I would go there everyday.

Crunch is a fantastic gym! There is so many options that is guaranteed to find yourself a workout style to your liking. The staff is friendly and very helpful. And of course the spa is so nice and refreshing. This is the place to be.

The last 5 visits Ive tried to tan but the manager says Its going to be a little while to get the beds cleaned or some other reason, its annoying they also cant keep soap in the dispensers in the locker room and have a sign up saying out of order, all in all this place is going downhill fast. I might as well check out the new gym down central city.

I love all of the class offerings and Hannah was amazing for my first session and Im looking so forward to her helping me in my journey forward!

Started when it first opened after about a year they slowly changed their staff and the new GM and employees hes bringing in are awful and unprofessional. Me and all my friends left this gym and wont be going back. Only reason people go here is the dirt cheap prices compared too me of the better gyms

I absolutely love this gym! I love all the classes they offer at different times so I never have an excuse not to pick up a class and work out either before work or after work. Hours are great and flexible. The staff members are wonderful and always greet you when you walk in.

Impressive gym and a great value. I LOVE the Camp Crunch classes. Instructors are knowledgeable and Darnell (PT) is a beast! Wish it was a 24hr gym but still a really good gym.

Ok so class starts at 9 why are we roping it off a hour before class? 8:20 completely roped off. It’s sends a bad message to other members. For on average of three people.I understand it’s for safety... but when class doesn’t start for a hour what’s the safety issue?

This place will change your card even after you try and cancel. Never use your bank card for auto payments. Gyms like this, who make it difficult to cancel are trash.

I love this gym! All the staff at crunch in Westland are great, especially Brenden Chan. Hes always trying to help every customer and make them feel very welcomed. (Give him a raise) but also the energy is always at 100 and it makes me workout better. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

The actual machines and facility are great, but the staff dont seem to know how their job works. I was charged a non-refundable fee for a service I didnt want. The employees only seemed to understand the charge policy rules after the fact when it could no longer be refunded. Feels good to have been mislead into giving money under false pretenses.

Dont get me wrong, this is still an awesome gym for the price, but since they opened their new locations they seem to neglect this Westland facility. The staff and management is like a revolving door. They used to have an awesome staff. Now it seems like they are just filling spots with anyone. This morning was the 4th time that the employee that was opening the gym either didnt show up, couldnt turn off the alarm, or just locked themselves out. Its getting pretty annoying.

Nice family to be a part of. If fitness is your thing than crunches for you.

Great facilities for $10 a month. There were two things, however, that I had issues with. One was that the employees didnt seem very motivated/happy and thats usually an indicator of bad ownership or management. Second was that when classes take place (usually twice a day around peak hours) they block off the entire turf area which consists of roughly 1/3 of the gym. This wouldnt annoy me too bad if they were attended regularly by members but on average theres only 2-3 people that actually partake in the sessions. Other crunch locations usually have a separate room for classes or they adjust the space they block off relative to how many people are taking the class.

Ive been coming here for almost a year. Not only do you get the most bang for your buck but the staff is incredibly helpful and encouraging. For anyone who wants to take working out seriously, this is the place to be

I travel in and around Detroit on a weekly basis for work. I have been to several of the locations; however, this location is, by far, the best. The facility is clean and safe and equipment is in good repair. The staff seems very warm, inviting, and knowledgeable. They are almost overly motivated to make sure that I have a great experience. I will keep coming back and tell others to join as well. Brendan, the general manager, knows me by name; more importantly, he knows and remembers to ask me specifics about my line of work. He also checks in with me to see how how my wife and daughters are doing back home. The Crunch Fitness in Westland feels like home. I would consider myself a regular. They make me feel like I am apart of their family and the staff’s high energy keeps me motivated to keep getting myself there and once I am there...to take advantage of all they have to offer. Crunch Westland feels like an experience to me. I look forward to going to the gym; moreover, I enjoy going to interact with Brendan and his team to feel the high energy and excitement of this venue. Keep up the good work Crunch Westland. Be sure to ask for the GM when you visit. He knows how to make you smile, feel welcome, and get you amped to work up a sweat and feel good. Now, get the other locations up to match the intensity of this one and then I won’t have to commute so far to workout when I am in on business. Thanks again to the team at Westland Crunch. Clean, sanitized and have a lot of free weights. Everything you need in a workout.

Great gym. Pretty good clientele, everyone is pretty friendly. And theres plenty of weight available to throw around. Only complaint is the lack of accessories for the equipment (carabiners regularly go missing, along with weight belts). All in all its a solid gym for any experience level.
