My wife and I have been members for several years and COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! Ive been around boats my whole life, owned several, my brother has owned boats, weve rented boats and this is the best deal.The cost and headaches are so much less than owning a boat. No maintenance, storage fees, insurance, etc, etc. The list goes on. And much more convenient. Show up, get on the boat and youre off for a day on the water. Return, replace the fuel you used, get off the boat and go home. No swabbing the decks! The dock staff has always been super helpful and friendly.The best story I have to demonstrate all this is we were planning a cruise across the bay on a boat we had never used but were keen on trying. This was a nice, comfy cabin cruiser. We arrived, the dock staff helped with our stuff, untied us from the dock and we were off. We got about 15 feet from the dock when an electrical short stopped the engine. Bummer! Day is done, right? Wrong! The dock guys tossed us a line, pulled us back to the dock, helped us off, put us on another boat and we were off for our day on the water!If that was my own boat? It might have to be pulled from the water, schedule a mechanic and the boat could have been laid up for days. For sure that day would have been ruined. But, being in this club we got to go out anyway and not worry about the inconvenience and cost for repairs.There are multiple locations and a variety of boats. If you own a boat its just that one boat. No variety. Want to cruise different waters? Then it will need to be trailer-able. That means a smaller boat, adds wear and tear on your car, added expense for trailer maintenance and state registration, etc.The club has grown quite a lot since we joined (what does that tell you?) so we cannot always get a boat every weekend like when we first joined. But, with a little planning and flexibility we can get one just about every other weekend.It may not be for everyone (some people actually do like to work on their boats) but it works very, very well for us and we will be renewing our membership!

Have the experience of owning a boat without really owning it. Take a boat from a float of about 10 of them and enjoy cruising the Potomac. Then no worries about cleaning or maintaining or paying for a boat slip.
