I have a Deck Boat with a 115 Yamaha motor. I have taken to three other boat repair shops in the last 2 years complaining about how the boat would lose power. Also it would always run great at ideal with out fail. As time went buy it keep getting worse and no one could find anything wrong. I took it to D & M and they said it runs great in the shop. I explained that the problem only comes up when its under power running in the water. (I did explain these to the other place before hand as well.) D & M took it to the river and found the problem. The High pressure fuel pump had gone bad. Now I have our boat back and it runs better than it ever did. These guys or great to work with........ James

I would give no stars if I could after my experience this week....was told multiple times a service I really needed could not happen that same day...got that service done...did not know it was done until after I go to pick up my car...called to asked that service not be done...disputed this with the advisor who miraculously doesnt remember our entire conversation the next day...he claims the parts were delivered 2 min prior to my call asking the services not to be done...no one remembers this call...this advisor, Patrick, continued to argue & interrupt me instead of actually giving good customer service & listening to my issues & concerns or even acknowledging them...he was supposed to have his supervisor call me back & did I still have not received a callWouldnt advise leaving your car there for anything. I prefer taking my car to the dealership, but I wont be going back to Modern Auto
We have purchased several vehicles at Modern, but we saw the best yet this summer when our daughter and son-in-law bought a used truck. It was making some noises that they thought may have been in the muffler system. Unfortunately, it ended up needing a transmission. Since they purchased the truck under the supposition of needing minor work, Modern replaced it free of charge. Now thats what I call taking care of the customer. These young people will be back to buy new vehicles, and so will we.

I was a little nervous about buying a used car sight unseen from a dealership 5 1/2 hours away. As it turned out, I had no reason to be. Brought my Cadillac here recently due to the check engine light coming on. Modern Auto said it was the transmission and I would need a brand new one to fix the issues my car was having. They quoted me over $7500 for a new transmission. Brought car to a transmission shop and found out the transmission wasn’t causing my issues at all, as it was in good shape, just a few things needing to be fixed with the engine at 1/10 of the cost Modern Auto quoted me. Be very careful having any service done here as well as buying from here, as I would have been out over $7500 for something that wasn’t causing my problems. Buyer beware.

My Enclave was making a roaring sound which I thought was an exhaust issue but the team at Modern correctly diagnosed the issue as wheel bearings and had it repaired promptly. Modern also came up with an affordable solution for a door panel issue. Highly recommend the experienced team at Modern Auto.
1) Drivers door sill and adjoining plastic trim were damaged while replacing drivers seat bottom. I dont know if I am going to risk further damage to my car by taking it back.2) Engine temperature continues to run low, yet not as low as before thermostat replacement.3) Seatbelt guides and cold engine stutter continue, which is unacceptable.

I know that this survey says my service was on 1/11/20, but it was actually completed late afternoon on January 7. We picked it up after work on Friday, January 8th. They made me aware that in the process of replacing the radio that a piece of trim was damaged and was on order but would not be in for a few days. After picking it up, I noticed (after the dealership was closed) that the buttons on the physical radio take you to the wrong place. For instance, the home button changes the radio station. I called first thing the next morning, 3 times, trying to get in touch with Dale who had been my service rep I was working with only to leave a message on Dans (service manager) voicemail for Dale since they could only send me to that voicemail. I never received a call back, nor did I ever receive a call about the replacement trim piece being in. In the meantime, I noticed a few things. Not only is the trim damaged and the buttons not programmed correctly, but the initial issue with the radio reception is worse. I had to produce a video last time for the problem to be addressed because they could not duplicate the issue in the shop. I now have even more video evidence of the radio going in and out. The volume even changes when you go from FM to my SXM which never happened before. To make matters worse, the screen no longer dims when it is dark outside so it is blinding while you are driving. I nearly have to turn my instrument cluster off for the radio display to be bearable at night. To back up, you have to completely turn your head around and look outside the car because using the mirrors is nearly impossible with the brightness of the screen shining in your face. I called on January 20th and spoke to Dan. He denied ever getting a voicemail. I told him of the issues Im having with the reception and the screen brightness. He said he would have to research the screen brightness and would have to call me when they had a loaner car to correct the damaged trim and programming but that my trim piece was in fact in (again - no one ever called to notify me). It is now February 1st and I have yet to hear from Dan or anyone at Modern Auto about any of my issues so I am still driving around with a glaring screen, buttons that dont work, and a damaged trim piece almost a month later.My remote start still is intermittent (again, they could not duplicate the concern, but I now too have that on video). The sad thing is, my remote start has been giving me issues since I purchased my Yukon brand new - so sad. I believe it is the radio antenna amplifier that has been replaced twice to address the issue. I asked them to replace it again, but no - they replaced the radio instead and now I have even more issues.In addition: My (stock) tires are still making a rubbing noise when I turn left - but they say that is a normal sound to hear. When the rubbing sound was happening when I turned right, the inner liner was replaced by another GM dealer and the issue was resolved. I have asked Modern Auto to address this issue now twice, and nothing - still rubbing. It is definitely not normal.I am disappointed with GM as a brand new Yukon should not have so many issues. I am disappointed by my experiences with now 2 GM dealers and their service departments. I want to love my Yukon and continue to be a GM customer, but this makes me think twice.*Potential buyers: If you like to remote start your vehicle, the Yukon may not a good choice. I have now researched and it seems this is a common problem. GM wants you to pay extra to be able to remote start from their app, but my nephew just bought a new Ford and he can even schedule his remote starts IN ADVANCE FOR FREE - just another option. These vehicles cost too much money to not work as they are supposed to.*Wanted: A GM dealership whose service department is committed to making the features of my Yukon that is still under full factory warranty work as they are supposed to.

John looked at my car as soon as I pulled up (cause the issue was happening then) and he had it looked at that afternoon, found the issue, called me to tell me the problem and that they would have to order the part; would take a couple days. Brought car back to be fixed and was fixed that morning and picked up the car at lunch time. No issues - No Hassles.
I am well pleased with Modern Autos service along with the fact they evaluate the situation of concern, tell me the problem of if/how it can be addressed. I appreciate that honesty and the reliable service. Also must compliment on the cleanliness of the place.

I recently bought my car from Jim Trenary and had my first oil change. A week later my car was having issues with starting. They couldnt get me in so I called Modern Auto. They found 2.5-3 extra quarts of oil in my car. Extremely happy they found the issues before major problems happened. Very professional with service and will go back!

My GMC Sierra has less than 30,000 miles and a fuel injector went out. Based on the timing, the warranty was one month out. I asked for help since the mileage was so low. It would have helped to have split the expense - or that I would have paid parts and the dealership took care of the labor. I find it terrible that this truck had this kind of trouble with such low mileage. I am done with Chevrolet/GMC. I have had two Suburbans back to back before switching to a pick up. Both Suburbans had major problems. I will not be back.

I got my second car through Modern Auto, I understand that purchasing a car is a long process, but while we were here the person we were having help us with the paperwork would leave and wouldn’t come back for several minutes and it just felt like it was a way to avoid us.Secondly when I came here when I started having mechanical issues with my vehicle about 2 years down the road I brought it to Modern Auto, they told me it needed a new Catalytic Convertor and a power steering pump, I took their word for it with it costing me about a grand. I received a call a day later saying my rear strut in my back tire was bad and needed replaced that alone cost me $400, feeling like I had no other option I said okay. Total in price was approx $1200. When we came to pick up my car we asked for my parts that they just took off and they wouldn’t give it me because they said I have to ask for that in advance..? Seems shady if you ask me.Regardless once leaving, my tire censor goes off and every single one of my tires is at a different air pressure. I take it back in and made them air them back up CORRECTLY!Needless to say I will not be returning, I just purchased my brand new car from Toyota in Washington MO and it was the best experience I ever had!

Although I have never purchased a car from here I have brought in several different cars for front and rear alignments. One of the cars was highly modified to be a lemons racecar and they aligned it and set the camber to our specs like it was no big deal. And they have allowed us to have our area younglife car wash at their facility for the last 7 years so I am very grateful for that. I highly recommend them!

I hear so many negative stories about car dealerships and their salesmen, but my experience with Modern Auto was completely the opposite. I couldnt have picked a better place to go. Doug was so nice, helpful and able to answer any and all questions. He was not pushy at all. He gave us plenty of time and space, while trying to make a decision. He was helpful in every way. Great place to buy a car. Seriously no pressure sales team. Our salesman was super awesome, and so was the finance manager. Super easy to deal with and actually this is the third car my family has bought from them. My moms neighbors has bought both their newest vehicles from Modern Auto as well.

Service department is great, they have accommodated my schedule many times, even offering me a vehicle to drive, or pick up/drop off service. Prices are in line with other certified mechanic shops.

I am mostly skeptical when taking my car in to have service work done. I feel confident and trust the people at Modern Auto. If something doesnt need to be done they will be honest and tell you. I took my car in on 5/20/2016 they did some work, I took it on a long trip and noticed something just wasnt right. I called them when I returned from my trip and they said bring it in. They fixed the problem. I really do recommend modern auto service department for and make of car. I have even taken my Dodge Journey in as I dont trust the service department from where I bought it which is right down the road.
