I live just down the street and I only discovered this gem of a service station when I stopped by as I was walking down Wisconsin and saw a bunch of European cars in the lot. I’ve been bringing my car here ever since for everything. The people are awesome and competent, they get things done right the first time! My car is a big fan!
Since I have been coming here I have been getting...-my car in quickly-great customer service-fair pricesCouldnt be a happier customer! Just brought my car in for a that doesnt sound good check up and it was fixed up and ready to go in a few hours. The manager Elizabeth was so kind and honest about the repairs my car needed and has never ripped me off or recommended unnecessary parts or repairs.
First time customer here at Georgetown Shell. The service manager Elizabeth is incredibly helpful and took the time to explain my repair. She answered all my questions and was completely transparent on all costs for repairs. Her team did an amazing job and it feels more like a family working on my car than a repair shop. Definitely recommend anyone in the Georgetown area to check out the shop. You won’t be disappointed!
Very unprofessional. Total waste of time. Ask me to come between 6 and 8 am. I came at 7 and waited for an hour as they opened until 8. I was told to leave the car, so they could get me an estimate. They called in 2 hours to say they cannot do it because they are very busy and asked me to pick up my car asap as they do not have space
I brought my car here after receiving a really high estimate from the dealer (to be expected, but still it was excessive) and the staff here, especially Elizabeth, went above and beyond researching the problem and recommending more cost-effective solutions. Elizabeth also stayed in contact with me and gave me regular updates. I appreciate the due diligence and trust metro motor when it comes to my car for maintenance and/or repairs.
Amazing customer service! Took the time to explain the work I needed and the cost. Never feel like I’m being taken advantage of. I recommend this shop to everyone I know!
Amazing, competent staff. Very understanding and fair. They diagnosed my problem, gave me a honest evaluation and fixed it back to brand new! Will be only using their services from now on!
Honest and ethical work. Rob is a great guy and an even better tech. Elizabeth is helpful in breaking down repair information and upfront about the cost. Overall its a great repair facility in Georgetown.
Had an issue with my passenger side window, texted the business, and within the hour it was solved. I cant recommend Metro Motor Georgetown enough. Rob and Elizabeth helped me out and were a pleasure to work with. Came for an oil change last month as well, they had it completed quickly! Top-notch service in this area.
Rob went the extra mile to help me out by reattaching my front license plate with a socket wrench and a washer for no extra charge. Tire rotation was relatively quick.
They are always very honest with me about what I need for my car and get the work done quickly!
Thieves and dishonest parasites.Their only intent is to fleece you dry. They charge $400 just to change a light bulb and to check what a check engine light means. (which is just connecting to the OBD and reading the code). Please, run away! The worst and most greedy broad-daylight-robbery car repair place.
Went for a regular scheduled oil change. As soon as I left my oil change light came back on. Took my car back for the owner to take a look. Now, my oil pressure light will not stop coming on. Poor work, I would not recommend.
I moved into DC about a year ago. My car lost its brakes and there were a couple of other small things I needed to be done. These guys were great to work with. They didnt do anything I didnt want them to do and offered options. I could tell they werent looking to just make a profit. they were looking for a life long customer. They were very reasonably priced and were very cordial when responding to my million phone calls and questions. I highly recommend and they now have a new life long customer.
Ive always been pleased with the service and advice Ive received here. Not only do Jack, Rob, and the very talented guys in the garage know their stuff, do quality work, and are quite considerate of my schedule and dependency on my vehicle, they help me prioritize repairs and stay on top of my regular maintenance while being mindful about my budget. My baby is on the older side, so costs on her immediate and long-term care are always a concern. So far, Ive found pricing to be reasonable for the level of work and attention needed. I also appreciate their honest answers to my many questions and education on how I may take better care of her myself. I find great comfort in knowing shes always in great hands and getting what she really needs.
I’ve been going here for years and it Was ok. But the new management is a BIG IMPROVEMENT.Jimmy is great - helpful, fair, and understanding. Thanks so much!
Im a regular customer for both fuel and to service my vehicle at Metro Motor Georgetown Shell on Wisconsin Ave. Jack and his team have always provided excellent and timely service with an added convenience of an early drop off and late pickup of my vehicle to keep me on schedule. In the past two years they have provided regular oil changes and tune ups, new brakes, new tires, aligned, rotated, and replaced a sensor on the tires, along with several smaller repairs to keep my vehicle in top shape. I they also gave me a break on service cost and prevented a major problem down the road when they discovered that a rear axle seal was installed incorrectly. Very knowledgeable group, quick turnaround on quotes and services. I highly recommend as no problem is too large or small.
Took my car here for the first time because it’s an approved shop to use with my extended warranty through Repairpal. My check engine light was on and there was a consistent gas smell that another shop was unable to diagnose. Jimmy was incredibly helpful - he got my car in quickly, sent me frequent text updates and made the time to answer several questions I had about the warranty, necessary services and costs. I checked the quote with a mechanic I know before approving the repair and the price was totally fair. He even offered to send me a Lyft to pick up the car. Excellent customer service, transparency and fair prices for DC.
Very useful garage in the gas station. They will help you with anything. Filled up my tires every time. Im grateful.
Got me to pay $700 for parts that did not remotely fix the problem and took days to get back to me. Then they wanted another $1100 to fix the same problem and had the car towed 50 MILES AWAY without telling me when I refused.
I can depend on them to do the right thing the first time - with the personal touch that I appreciate.
Very happy with the service from Bobby and the team. My car showed a diagnostic error following a service and Bobby took care of it, even taking it to the Mazda dealership to get a part replaced under warranty for me, all free of charge. Will definitely return.
Great service and amazing people. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants a honest job and price.
Overpriced and rude customer service. Brought my car in to investigate an odd sound - turns out it was just the battery and they wanted $330 for a new battery, I said no thanks as this is super overpriced. Went to pick it up to take it to another mechanic for a battery, and they charged me $80 for just checking the battery. The man working the counter raised his voice at me unprovoked when I asked for clarification on the price. Really negative experience.
The people were awesome and they did a great job. I was really amazed.
Im young but, i got an old soul, i say that to say, people dont do business like they use to. Now days everyone is looking to get over on another person. Its sad but true. My short advice take the time to do your research and be involved.Summary:1. needed new radiator- AAA Towed car to AAA approved Georgetown Shell- They Diagnosed the car, and came up with $1,096- I nicely asked for price break down (just to see what cost what)- I think his name was Jack.. Speeds through the breakdown (claims hes busy) I ask to repeat.- labor cost and fees that were inflated by $200%- Radiator it self was priced at $490, advanced auto parts had the same radiator for $180.- he refused to put part in my car, then he went back on that statement- at this time, i was convinced that my cars well being was not their interest.- I left the establishment not before they charged me $65 for my diagnosis, which the refused my AAA discount.- I reported them to AAA.I ending up towing my care from this location to another to have my care repaired for a total of $300.I will be reporting them to the BBB as well..
They charged me $700 per Job service and didnt fixe my car. They asked me to call my insurance because want to me pay extra $2500. I just say no. And few days later I realized that the noise was coming from the steering wheel. After I adjust the height the noise totally disappeared. I got so disappointed.
Was happy with them for over a year, but after an extremely high estimate (more than $700 more than other DC mechanic) Ive decided never to use them again. Too bad b/c they have good customer service and location for where I live, but when I pressed for other possinbilities in price/issue with car, they stood firm. It cost $100 to fix up the road. Definitely shop around before you land with Metro Motor for issues. I previously fixed something with them to the tune of $500 and now fear I just gave my money away.
I was towed to Metro Motor on advice of triple A. It turned out my battery was run down and needed a boost; I was pretty happy and feeling lucky. This is an easy, basic fix - free from most garages, roadside assistance, or even a stranger with booster cables. But the bill for services (no parts are needed for a boost) came to $150 after a discount. If they had charged their nominal hourly charge, about $50, to cover their time and effort (about 10 to 15 minutes hands-on time at most) I might have considered it somewhat excessive. At $150 for a boost, I decided to complain. I was immediately met with a defensive reaction from the apparently annoyed manager, Jack Parzow, who explained - loudly - that my battery was charged slowly rather than boosted, and that new batteries cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Of course, I checked Amazon to find that a brand new battery for my car costs about $40 more than he charged. Despite not being handy at all, I have changed a car battery before (by noting which lead was hooked up to which part), and as I recall it took about 5 minutes for a beginner, with essentially no tools, to do. The hardest part was finding a way to safely dispose of the dead battery. When I was told that my battery was low, I probably should have asked for them to park it on the street. However, I believe that they would have demanded $125 for a diagnostic. Sadly, I have had worse experiences with a garage over the many years. But on a per minute basis, considering the routine nature of the fix, this takes the cake. Think filling a paper dixie cup with water from a water cooler, turning to leave, and being asked for $79.99 with a straight face. I wont be returning to this or any other Metro Motor location, and though its too late to save my money: save yourself.
I can honestly say that I have NEVER had an auto maintenance shop clean and vacuum my car after an oil change and lube, until discovering Georgetown Shell! Wow, impressive. Details like this make a world of difference. Ill be back and Ill tell my friends, too!
Very rude gentleman simply was explaing and started to raise his voice. No thank you terrible customer service skills when I am trying to spend my hard earned money with your business.
Very disappointed with this mechanic. Booking an appointment was very easy and Bobby was very personable. However, while under their care, they damaged the car! Not only that, they refused to pay for the damage they had caused in full. You would think that would be a fair common courtesy, but not here.I am never returning here again.
Jack, the service manager, was nice and, more importantly, got me in and out quickly when I had car problems on my way to work. It wasnt cheap, but nothing in DC is, so 5 stars for the service.
I took my car to Shell because the battery was dead. They wanted $1,000 to replace the battery and do some additional electrical work. They told me I also needed to change the timing belt and replace the gasket covers for another $2,500. When I asked for more details they tried to bully me, so I had it towed to a Honda dealer and they replaced the battery and electrical work for $ 600. Typically, dealerships are more expensive so that tells you something right there. Later, when I got my car back to my regular local auto service (after driving another 500 miles), they said there was nothing wrong with the timing belt or gasket covers. These guys are completely dishonest and basically try to intimidate people by lying and making up fake problems. Stay far away from them!
This is the best mechanic at a gas station i have ever experienced. Theyre friendly, responsive and available. The owner Bobby is a GREAT guy.
This place and the brothers place across the street have a monopoly on auto service in Georgetown. They have horrible customer service and their rip people off and overcharge. I live down the street and all my neighbors agree. We all drive out of our way to go to a better mechanic father away. Do not give this place any business
Crazy Expensive, dishonest, and bully. I dont recommend the place. I took my car there for a check up and they came up with 1200$ cost, which later after great bargaining lowered it to 1050$, for a service which the sister company accross the street charge 900$. The owner of the shop was yeilling on everyone in his proximity. When I decided to take the car to accross the street sister company he yield at me that I have to pay an additional 75$ for inspection, a price that he never talked about in the beginning and we never agreed to pay it before inspection. Additionally their hourly labor rate is very high around 140$ while everywhere else is 80$/ hour.
Is it weird if I compare an auto shop to the Ritz-Carlton
Weve had great service and reasonable rates with 2 cars. Have shopped around their pricing and is very comparable to other mechanics
I needed my front brake pads replaced and was later called with them telling me my calipers were rusted on and would also need a flush. This ended up costing me 1050. I later returned home to Michigan and got my rear pads replaced. My calipers were not rusted on in the back and replacing my pads cost 300. Completely scammed!
Decent work. But the customer service needs help in the most basic of ways.
Very kind and efficient gentleman named Pedro plugged my tire and had me out the door in less time than it took me to pay for it. Woohoo! Ten stars
Car was towed in for repair. Quick response, great communication and honest.
Removed a nail from my tire and patched it in about 10 minutes
Warning: be sure to do your research and get multiple shop estimates before agreeing to Georgetown Shells estimate, especially on labor. The service I had performed was double the labor hours quoted at a national chain and multiple local auto shops.
Great customer service!
Horrible customer service. Apparently making an appointment doesn’t actually guarantee you service. Instead, “sorry we can’t fit you in today.”
