I was under a time constraint and paid the extra fee for them to come all the way to Pittsburgh to jet my sewer.They have someone professional answer the phone and give you the price up front. The service provider was very professional, knowledgeable, and kind.Ive used many contractors in the past personally and in my career. Id highly recommend these guys. The price was still competitive even with the extra travel fee.A lot of the larger commercialized/franchised companies wouldve probably wasted my time and wouldve said something needed fixed first to make it a larger job.Thanks guys! One year ago, McVehil installed a new heat pump system at our home. We were very [leased with the installation and the performance of the system. As part of the installation we were entitled to a free service call to inspect and tune the system and replace any consumables. Sure enough, a year later we were contacted by McVehil to schedule our follow-up inspection. I expected a 10 minute walk through, but the tech spent at least two hours going over every part of the system. Great Service!!

We had this company install a sewage line last spring and they completely ruined our paved driveway. Weve been patiently waiting for a year now for them to turn the damage over to their insurance company to fix the damages they made, but weve received no response and no follow up. We are very upset customers.

We just had McVehil out for our annual heating check up, and everything went smoothly and on time. We had also had them out within the past month for an emergency water heater repair and they did a great job. They did a lot of the work at a previous house we had built, so we have a good history with them. I highly recommend them for any plumbing or HVAC projects.

Paid over $1,000 for a hot water heater a few weeks later smelling gas called to get a technician to come and check they refuse anybody out so they was too busy turned out that the water heater that they installed was leaking had to pay another guy hundred bucks to fix it I hate this company. Just wanted to add a follow up to the story I just had Colombian gas come out to the house because there was still a smell of a leak and turned to find out once again this water heater that I paid $1,000 for one of the hoses is not connected properly which is causing a leak and they said that they should have just replaced the whole fvaule insteadof just putting on it that way so now I got to get another plumber to come and take care of this thanks Mr plumbers you do a very very poor job sad.

: 10 years ago I used McVehil Heating to install a new furnace. At the time I was a new homeowner. McVehil was contracted to install the furnace, an oil burner, and I also used them for service after that. Every time that they came to do something as simple as a maintenance check they always seemed to find some problem to the cost of around 300 to 400$ per visit. Finally this year I asked some friends for referrals to other heating companies since I was starting to suspect that McVehil was taking advantage of my ignorance regarding the operation and maintenance of a furnace. Within the last month my furnace stopped operation and I had 2 different companies come in to give me an estimate on a new furnace. Both companies made the following statements to me after examining the furnace. They said that whoever had done my prior installation had done me a disservice. I did not tell them the name of the company who had done the installation. McVehil Heating had run copper tubing from my furnace pump directly in front of a hinged door on my furnace. As a result the door could not be opened and the soot cleaned out of it. This resulted in soot buildup in the furnace which caused mineral deposits on the boiler and cracked the boiler. My furnace lasted approximately 10 years and the average lifespan for this furnace is 15 to 20 years. The 2 new companies also pointed out that the exhaust pipe had been replaced by pipe that was smaller than the original. They both told me that the exhaust pipe should have been either the same size or a size larger. In additon, they never replaced the entire exhaust pipe and as a result I have had carbon monoxide leaking into my garage. I called McVehil and shared this with them. They asked if the owner of the company could come out prior to my new installation to see what had been done. I agreed to this and set up a date and time. The owner never showed up.

I chose McVehil initially for the price, but I KEEP coming back for the service (and - importantly - all their work seems to be good - of course Im no expert there - which is why I need them ;-). Everyone at McVehil has been SOOOO helpful (even that one day when I was being a complete idiot...) LOVE these guys. Cant recommend them enough!!

I asked them to come look at an AC that was not as cool as it should be. They told me it would be $99.95. They came to check it and left me a bill for $419.65 saying it was over pressurized and they adjusted the freon charge. $419.65 just to let some pressure out? We have a lot of ACs here which could have gotten them a good amount of repeat business, but they really missed out on that opportunity. I will be going elsewhere.

Do not use this place. Told me I needed to replace my metal pipes with PVC because they were corroded, which was causing the clog. I took apart my pipes, just to realize the clog was caused by a toy my daughter dropped down the drain. The pipes werent corroded at all, but they tried to get one over on me. Never using them again.

I had a problem with my main water line which ran under the cement floors of my house. I had water running all over my finished basement floor. I called McVehils and they made sure they were there the same day to take care of me. Anthony came to my house, properly diagnosed the problem and told me exactly what I needed to do to fix it. An estimate was made and we agreed on a price. The crew at McVehils came right away, (Anthony and Charles) and ran a new water line from the curb all the way around my house into the rear of the house. They did an amazing job. They did exactly what they told me they were going to do in the time frame that they told me they were going to do it in. There were no hidden costs or anything like that .I was extremely impressed with the knowledge of Anthony and his compassion towards his customers. I was very nervous about trusting a company that I have never dealt with before but Anthony and Mcvehil plumbing have earned my trust and respect. Told me my furnace was shot and that I would need a new one.. they gave me a work proposal for a couple thousand dollars. I had another company come out for a second opinion. Turns out I just needed a new circuit board, for a little over $100.

Had them do some plumbing work that required a small bit of pipe and some labor. Job was done, but I was billed $2800. The old owner is reimbursing me for the repairs, but they wanted a detailed statement of work completed. My bill literally has $100 for miscellaneous supplies and 27 hours of labor. We called 4 times and asked Mark for a more detailed statement. EVery time we cal or stop hes not there and we never get a callback.Just before Christmas my furnace quit working. I didnt know who to call, so I gave McVehil another call. The cost was $190 for after hours diagnostics. Their tech (Josh) stated that it had to be the pressure switch since my furnace is notorious for that issue. He said he could probably get it running until they were able to get a part on Monday. Since it was Saturday and I have a 5-month-old and 2-year old I couldnt risk them getting cold, so I had him come out. He looked at the furnace for about 30-40 minutes and said the controller board was bad. He gave me a quote of $395. I checked the internet and this board was $80 online and takes 10 minutes to change. I am experienced in electronics and IT with over 20 years of experience. Its no different than changing any other board out. I ordered the board and it came Wednesday. CHanged it and nothing was fixed. I called and spoke with Mark and he said they are the professionals and they need to do the work. He said that sometimes you have to fix one problem to find the next. My BS meter was off of the charts, so I called another HVAC tech who runs a professional and honest business. He came in 5 minutes and found the problem. He was done in an hour and we had a furnace. I reinstalled the original board and to no surprise, the furnace STILL WORKS! I emailed and asked for my $190 back since their tech is either an idiot or a con artist. They never responded. These are the only 2 conclusions to draw. The part that was bad was SUPPOSED to be tested and is as simple as touching a voltmeter to it. AVOID THEM!!!!
