I honestly have loved going here for the longest time. My pedicures have always been amazing and the women there are super nice and friendly! But after one bad experience after another I will not be returning, my nails were torn up and hurt in the process. The application was sloppy and VERY rushed. The length is different on all my nails and the shape was supposed to be almond even though some look different then others. It’s honestly a hit or a miss with this place and it’s up to you pedicures are AMAZING but manicures …not so much 👎🏻

I went in yesterday to get a full set of acrylic nails and an eyebrow wax. Not happy. The nails are not all the same shape and don’t go all the way to the edge of my nail or my cuticle. They look grown out after less than 24 hours. Next, the man doing my manicure was not very kind. I’d ask him to shape a nail to match the other one or make one nail a bit shorter and he’d scoff and drop his shoulders. He made me feel bad for wanting to like what I was paying for. Also, the design on my nails is crooked and there are bubbles in the gel polish on top of the acrylics. I’ve been doing my nails by myself since the beginning of the pandemic and the sets I do are better than this. Moving on to the waxing, I tried to tell the lady that did my brows the way I wanted them but instead of listening she pushed my head back and started applying the wax. My left eyebrow is very obviously thinner than my right eyebrow and she waxed off the tail of the brow as well. Overall displeased with how I spent over $100 of my own money including tip and would honestly like a refund. ):

The nail experience was amazing I got exactly what I asked for except they just stuck me to get my nails dry n didnt tell me how long to sit there and so after 15 or 20 minutes I left n messed up a few nails right wen I got to my car lol. Ill definitely go back they got the shape perfect.

Went here for a fill and shellac. Had to go back in three days for the to redo my shellac because it was peeling off. I did appreciate their willingness to fix the issue. However, just three days after they fixed it, my new shellac started peeling as well. I get my nails done regularly and have NEVER dealt withy shellac peeling. Not even after two weeks. Its frustrating to spend $50 on nails, and a $10 tip only to have chipped paint days after them being done. I dont do anything strenuous with my hands so, it doesnt make any sense. Not sure what to think honestly.Edit: After just one week, my fill was useless. My nails started popping off and I had to remove the remainder of them myself. And I feel like its important to not the shellac on my toes from over a month ago is still intact... From a different salon. I was going to call and complain but at this point it isnt worth it. Do not recommend.

My daughter and I went to Top Nails for pedicures. We both requested the 45 minute pedicure. Her nail technician started before mine. I had some sparkle polish on my toes and rather than take the time to remove it, she got her electric sander out and buffed it off. Her work was fast and sloppy. My pedicure ended after only 30 minutes. She brought the card with her name, Diane, and my fee of $45. I sat for another 15 minutes and waited for my daughters pedicure to be finished.Getting a pedicure is supposed to be a treat. A pamper. And when the technicians goal is to hurry up and get it over with rather than to provide the pamper service that a customer pays for, that is just plain poor service. I will take my business to a place who will give me the service that I pay for.

Ive gone to this company before but its been years and not in that location. The women that did my nails and my friends nails were very very nice and polite. Every worker there was very professional.

Went and asked for painted stars on my nails, my nail tech proceeded to put stickers on them that turned out bumpy and didn’t really stick on. i was very disappointed but asked them to fix it and they took the stars off for me right away. wont be back, but i’m glad they fixed them for me.

So far the best I have been to. Still not somewhere I want to keep going back to. You ca. See my pinky is scuffed, but it is dip so I would have had to redo them. Two are like this and others have random flacks... it took almost 1 hour and 30 to do them. Didnt have time to stay to have them fixed. Plus the amount on my skin on my fingertips is unreal

This is my go to place for pedicures. Will not go any where else. Ive never had to wait for very long. And my nail polish always seems to last longer coming here.

We have been here quite a few times and I have always made an appointment usually we aren’t seeing till about an hour after our appointment… A couple of days ago we had an appointment at five and by 6 o’clock we were still waiting around we ask that they at least take off our dipped nail polish which then they did it in a hurry and still charged us $10 each and we left with glue all over our nails and they shaped them pretty terribly… Never will go back even if you make an appointment they always let walk-ins go in front of you

This is my favorite place for a pedicure. Little to no wait for walk ins. If you dont want to talk then they dont bother you. If youre feeling chatty, theyll chat.

We waited almost 20 minutes to get our nails done when the place was not busy at all, and the ladies doing our pedicures were very rude and made my daughter feel very uncomfortable.

Great price point, but I didnt feel like the nail techs really cared about how good of a job they were doing and were just trying to get through all of the customers. They had a great selection of colors and the way they had the gel and dip samples displayed in books made it easier to choose those colors. Nails look fine, but not as good as they could have been.

I wish I could give them 0 stars. I requested square/oval dipped nails, and specifically showed a photo of exactly what I wanted. My nail tech acknowledged the photo. She proceeded to start my nails. She cut them to my desired length and then clipped the sides. In that moment I showed her the photo again, and said I do not want coffin nails, it was essentially what she was giving me. Another lady takes her spot and her aura is completely off. She grabs my hand and rushes the process completely! I kindly tell her this is not what I wanted. She then tells me if I wants the square/oval nails I had to have get a longer length. I find this absurd because Ive seen many dipped nails with the length and shape I wanted. At the end my nails were not neat, not the shape I wanted and I had product on my skin. Even though I did not appreciate the work I STILL tipped. Why? Because someone put in work. So I would not recommend this place what so ever. Its a waste of time.

I went and got may nails done in Sunday one nail was crooked and she kept telling me it was my finger. Also while getting my toes done the lady had a dress on and that should not happen due to she kept flashing me not on purpose but maybe dont let them wear dresses. I did call they told me they where going to redo them and today when I got there here they didnt fixedo them they only fixed the one and i have 2 that are not same shape and 3 dont have paint on the top never again will i go back... lessened learned. I would also give a 0 star. The place is clean and I have been there before and have done a pretty good job but not again. Sorry lost this one...he

LOVE this nail salon! They get me in right away and help me pick out a color. They start working on me right away. The last time I was there, I got Kathy and she did an amazing job! And the prices are so affordable. They even gave me a Christmas gift of lotion when I left. 😊❤️

Always a great experience here. Bonus you get a nice little massage when youre waiting for your nails to dry. Its not long, but was a very nice surprise the first time I went.

Best experience Ive had getting a pedicure and manicure. Kay helped me and she did a great job with my nails, plus she took the extra time to massage my legs and arms really well. It was much needed and very appreciated!

I have tried other places around the Des Moines area and places to closer to my home, and keep coming back to Top Nail and Spa because of the service. Literally the best experience Ive ever had. I typically go to Brenda, but Anna is also amazing!

There are a lot of stations so even if you dont have an appointment you still wont have to wait long. They did a wonderful job on my nails. I took my 2 year old and she got a mani/pedi combo with quick drying gel polish for $20. She was adorable and loved the attention. She also showed off her nails as much as possible.

I love Top Nails! I have been going there for 10 years and the few times Ive tried somewhere a little closer to home, Ive always been extremely disappointed. Thats what happens when youre used to great service! No one does better work then they do! Pleasant staff, great service! I wont go anywhere else. I always schedule an appointment with Andy! I love this place. I go about every three weeks and have never had a bad experience. The salon is clean and the techs do a great job. Yes, there are some better than others, but even the bad ones are good. I think a lot of people dont speak up when they dont like something, so its important to let them know. Also, if you want to engage in conversation, I have heard some really interesting stories.

Ive gotten a gel manicure here twice and both times I loved it. Sometimes it can be busy during certain hours so make an appointment and even then know that you might need to wait a few minutes while they finish up with someone else. But its still well worth it.

Mostly good. But, such inconsistencies between workers. Some are great and some mediocre to horrible. It depends so much on who you get. And my pedicure seemed pretty good until I got home and realized not such a great job on my heels. A group of us had gone, and all had different results. Will likely go back, but think I need to keep a list of who I like and dont like.💅

Very relaxing. The workers accents can be hard to understand sometimes, but they are very nice. Also, when I accidentally messed up my nail, they painted over it! I would highly recommend.

I felt really rushed. I have never gotten a manicure that took 5 minutes from start finish! I like their set up. The place was very clean but moves in a faster pace in which Im not use too!

Typically I love this place to get my nails done! They do great pedicures and my nails always look beautiful when I leave. But today!! Was not like that. I have all my natural nails except for one that broke. I asked for a tip and acrylic to be put on that one and then acrylic overlay to be put on the rest of my nails keep them strong and prevent them from breaking. I mentioned several times during this service but thats what I wanted! Yet that is not what I got. I dont know if she didnt quite understand what I was asking for! But I did ask several times for that to be done. She put the polish on my nails and one hand at a time put them under the UV light. Where my broken nail was I had to point out that I wanted a tip on that with acrylic. And that I again wanted acrylic over all of my nails. This was not done. My nails are very sloppily polished, there are gaps between the side of my nail and the Polish that you can clearly see comma it was just not the service that I asked for!

Where to begin on how weird the experience was. Charged 15.00 to put on a shine coat. Didn’t massage my legs at all but gave me a neck rub. They gal kept running to the other room. My friend and I could not believe how the salon could still be in business.

Have been twice and both experiences have been wonderful. The staff is friendly and extremely professional. All of the products are top notch and many products are handmade, like the scrubs & soaps.

Absolutely the worst experience. Nails not painted all the way, I asked for square my nails are completely round. Every time I brought up dissatisfaction they acted like my expectations were too high. Went to dry my polish and noticed a couple of nails had bubbles in the polish all over. Called over Kelly the lady that did my nails. Showed her and asked her to fix them. She patted down the bubbles with her finger and slapped on some topcoat. Didn’t clean from the underneath of the nail. Just looks gross, cheap, trashy and definitely not worth the price I paid. Will not Be going here again

The two stars is for the pedicure I got. Ive had a pedicure there 1 time and it was due to it being closer to my final destination that night. That went great and I got what I wanted although it felt really rushed. Today I came to get an acrylic full set and asked for almond shaped. Not oval. Almond. My nail salon I usually go to does this every time no problem. No matter how many times I told her almond shaped Molly refused to do it saying she couldnt do it. So I got oval. On top of that, tons of super glue all over my hands, nail polish outside of my cuticle line, and air bubbles galore. Im going to my nail salon tomorrow to have them removed and done correctly. Absolute waste of time and money!

My friend and I waited to be helped, and they took me back before her. I asked for her to be seated next to me as we came together and the service providers acted like that was a huge inconvenience. While doing our nails one of them said to us “Well talk! You wanted to sit to each other so talk!” Then proceeded to tell my friend she needs to get her hair colored because her roots are grown out. Meanwhile I am her stylist 🙄

They try to sell you more services than you want. I kept telling them just basic pedi. Then she was nicely chatting during my pedicure and I didnt understand her and pretty soon shes doing hot stones and all kinds of things that arent in a basic pedi. All after I told them twice I only wanted the basic.

First time I went was fantastic. The second time I went the lady who did my toes cut them crooked and then didnt shaped them. A six-year-old probably couldve painted them better than she did. Been going here to get the dip powder manicure done every 3-4 weeks for a few months now. Awesome & friendly service! Nail techs Kathy, Shayla, Cindy, and Tammy have been great! They take appts and walk ins - even with a walk-in on busy weekends, Ive only had to wait a few minutes. Glad Ive found an awesome place in Urbandale!

My daughter and I decided to treat ourselves on Mothers Day to mani Pedis. The lady that did my daughters nails was rude and did a terrible job painting them.. When my daughter asked for the paint to be fixed, another lady just put another coat of paint on top of the terrible paint job already done. The paint was so thick it wouldnt dry. My daughter ended up just taking the paint off when she got home. Total waist of money. We will not return. I also agree with the women who said its like a factory. They get you in and out as fast as possible without caring about how your nails look or good customer service.

When today with my 3 yr old daughter. Up front before picking out a color he told me if would be $10 shellac on her toes. (No pedicure, just painted) Going to pay, he said it was $20!! Also during my pedicure the lady scraped a chunk of skin of the side of my foot, I bled. All she said was sorry. Didnt show any concern & kept going about the pedicure. I will never go back here. Horrible experience.

Ive been getting gel on my nails for years now... first time I ever had them peel off snd it happened within 24 hrs. Returned to get them redone and they blamed it on old polish. Which was still on the shelf when I left. Never go there again. Its a factory... bring people in and run them through as quickly as possible.

I like going to Top Nails and Spa because they usually get me in for a pedicure quickly and do a good job. I took off a star because the service is somewhat inconsistent depending on who you get.

We have had a good experience here before but our second time visiting was the worst pedicures we have ever gotten. We had to ask both of the gals doing our feet to actually use tools again because they barely did any work on pure toes/feet. His pedicure would have been done in 15 minutes had he not asked for work to be done. Both of our feet are in the same shape they were when we got there. Were told our feet were too hard to do anything with. My pedicure would have been 25 minutes had she noticed me looking at the bottom of my feet. Basically paid $70 to get my toenails painted...paid for an upgraded pedicure and Im not even sure what was done to either of our feet/toes.

I got acrylic dips and l left top nails in pain. The lady ripped skin off around every single one of my nails. All of my fingers are now infected and stinging with pain. Definitely wouldn’t suggest going there. They suck and clearly don’t know what they’re doing and don’t care about the customers.

My girlfriend recently got her nails done there. I couldnt believe the work they did. Her toe nails were cut so poorly and the coloring was subpar. I thought this was some kind of early Halloween costume test. Then I found out she actually paid to get them done there! Wow, couldnt believe it.

I just had my worst nail experience ever in my life 10 mins ago. I walked in Top nail and spa for a manicure. The greeting lady was nice and friendly, and she almost made me start going there instead of the place I have been going for 3 years. However, after my nail lady started working on my nails, the nightmare started.She was in such a big hurry and could not even file my nail smooth and flat. My manicure took less than 10 mins so you can figure what kind of job was done. I first tried to tell her what I wanted by words and apparently she could not do it right. Then I asked for a file to set her an example and she said HURRY, HURRY, I told her if you are in a hurry, please get me someone else, I am not in a hurry. Then she changed her attitude a little bit and said sorry for couple times.I ended up having lopsided shapes and uneven color. I was gonna give up and just leave; she insisted asking to fix for me. I showed her my pinky and told her the shape is not symmetric and the color is missing on the side. She started her fix and caused me a bleeding skin. Then I was super done and just wanted to get out of there. I spend almost $50 there and came home with terrible nails and a bleeding finger. I do not understand how someone can mess up so much and have no patience to do things right. I definitely will NOT go back even though the place is only one block away from my house.Ladies, hope you do not have the same person working on your nails when you go. What a horrible experience.
