If I could give 0 stars, I would. The leasing office was horrible to me. I had an appointment to lease a unit, and when I was heading out the door for the appointment the leasing agent called me and told me someone had already leased the apartment already and when I asked her why they didn’t inform me that morning she kept saying that it’s first come first serve and that they don’t allow multiple applicants which just doesn’t make sense. She later said that she wanted to wait until the other applicants credit was approved before telling me when she could’ve told me that morning instead of wasting my time like this.. She was rude to me and made me feel like this was my fault when they lied to me because it takes 24 hours for a credit check so her excuses did not add up. When I tried calling back for clarification she kept refusing my calls. I had called the office 8 times. I had someone else call the office from another phone number and she picked up right away. She was deliberately ignoring a prospective renters calls which is completely unprofessional. Beware of the leasing agents here. They’re rude and don’t care about their clients at all. She wouldn’t even help me when I told her I’m interested in a 2 bedroom instead of a 1 bedroom since they were unavailable. She told me she can’t help me with anything and everything has to be done online which is ridiculous.. I felt completely discriminated by this person and hopefully they get fired for this. Which I doubt because they don’t care about anyone but saving themselves when they need to.

Angelo came over a few weeks ago to help fix our broken garbage disposal under the kitchen sink, which was causing the sink to clog. He fixed the disposal which solved our clogging issue. He was nice enough to ask what else we needed help with and he helped fix an issue with the tank in our toilet, and also fixed the weak water pressure in the shower. Angelo was efficient, he know how to fix the problems, and was pleasant to deal with. Thank you Angelo for your help.

Dropping a quick word to tout Farrah Colemans awesomeness over in the Sales office — my wife and I have been residents for over 3 years and Farrahs always a pleasure to chat with and ultra-ready to assist with any asks Ive had. Shes always got a knowing smile and a friendly wave even when shes busy touring new residents around the property, and often shouts hello before I even know shes there. Its more than likely that without Farrah (or Kelvin, or James) we wouldve bought our own place by now but shes made our time here so easy that we just havent been in a rush to go. Thanks Farrah!

I had a leak in the kitchen sink twice in the last month and put in urgent service requests. Angelo showed up both times in less than an hour and fixed the issue perfectly. Shout out to him for being so efficient and considerate - always puts the residents concerns first. Thanks Angelo!

My boyfriend and I looked a few places before choosing Avalon Union City as our home. When we went in for the contact-free tour, we knew that this is where we wanted to live. I wanted to give a huge shoutout to Matt for helping us fix the floor in our bathroom, as well as telling us which outlet connected to which light. The maintenance team here is friendly, quick, and very helpful.Edit - Minus 1 star for the trash compactor that comes around 6 or 7am in the morning. Its just not ideal if you want to sleep in.

My husband and I have lived here for 2 years and are very happy here. Maintenance issues are resolved in a timely manner. I wanted to give a special shout out to Farrah Coleman for always helping and answering our questions and concerns. She is always polite and courteous and attentive to our needs which makes it easy for us to stay. Nothing but positive experience.

Ive lived at Avalon UC for more than 8 years, the maintenance here has been consistently very good. All work-orders are completed promptly, better than expectation... [Florence]

We had a couple of issues with the sink and the AC of the apartment. A big shoutout to Angelo, he was very thorough with the inspection and problem identification and ensured all the problems were fixed to their root. Thanks for your awesome work Angelo.

I had a clogged sink and a faucet that wasnt working well and called in to request an urgent service since the sink was unusable. To my surprise, Angelo showed up less than 30 minutes after I made the call and fixed both issues thoroughly. Really appreciate the fast, friendly and efficient service. Thanks Angelo!

Eduardo from the maintenance staff was a great help when i got locked out after losing my keys.

I had the opportunity to meet with one of the new members of the maintenance team Matthew and it was definitely a 5 star experience. I was attempting to take some larger items to the dumpster and Matt was kind enough to help with getting the dumpster open as well as with getting the items to the dumpster.I did not open a service ticket to request his assistance; so I really think that this is a great example of the awesome customer service of the team here at Avalon. Ive been really impressed with all of my recent interactions with maintenance including Eduardo whos completed the last few services requests that Ive had. My personal experience is that the maintenance team here does high quality work and are really pleasant to interact with.

Recently moved in into Avalon Union City, really good experience moving in. Apartment is very well maintained. Manali Patel was always there to answer all the questions we had. Overall 5/5 :) !!

4/30/21 update: This issue has been resolved. Thank you to James, Community Manager, for addressing this and checking in along the way. It also looks like many of the community amenities are being upgraded and re-opened just in time for summer, so we are really looking forward to that.Weve been living here for a little over a month now. While we generally like it overall, we have one complaint. However, it is a big complaint.Our neighbor, along with other residents, smoke cigarettes on their balcony multiple times a day despite it being a non-smoking building. Smoke has seeped into our unit every day since weve moved in, at all hours.We sent an email to building management to help take care of the situation. Apparently we werent they only ones experiencing this issue. Shortly after we reached out, they sent out an email to all residents noting that they received numerous feedback from residents that people are smoking in and around the building. They reminded everyone of the non-smoking policy, however, that email was ignored.The smoking persisted so we called management to complain. They told us that they would call the resident (we gave them the specific unit # of the offender) and they also told me that he/she was moving out in 10 days. After 2 weeks, the resident is still here and I called again. They then told me that he/she is moving out in 4 days (?). This was over a week and a half ago and they are STILL here, and are still smoking. We even took matters into our own hands and put a respectful note on our neighbors door to request that they stop smoking, but nothing changed. Clearly they dont care about their neighbors or the building rules and there are no any repercussions. We dont know what to do at this point.

Farrah Coleman, the Sales and Service Supervisor, at the complex is most available to help when I have a concern or a problem and it is usually solved immediately. The maintenance staff takes great care of the grounds and repairs are made within a 24 hour period. I like living here. -Virginia

5 stars for Avalon Union City, and why I have called it home for the last 12 years! I love living here! The office team and maintenance team continue to go above and beyond. During this last crazy year full of challenges while in a pandemic, they have changed the security company, added more cameras throughout the community and parking, and are currently remodeling the gym and common areas. Things are looking so nice for when everything can open back up. While everything has been closed due to the pandemic, Farrah has been really creative in what they are offering our community. She has scheduled different food trucks to come weekly (which has been so nice to be able to try different foods every week and not cook), and offered online classes for fitness, art, cooking, games, etc. She has different events for the community every week and has really made them social distant friendly. My son loves to stop by on each holiday because she always has special treats for the residents! We are very appreciative for Farrah and the rest of the Avalon team for always thinking of our community and truly caring!

I just had some maintenance work done by EDUARDO and all I can sayis that he is so professional, caring and a job well done H really madeour day. This is another reason we love living in AVALON UNIION CITY.Their staff overall are just marvelous. Thank you.

The maintenance crew is very on top of it! On a Sunday I submitted a service order to get my dishwasher repaired and Angelo came in under 30 mins and got it fixed! Shoutout to Angelo, he was so friendly, followed covid protocol and got my dishwasher fixed in no time! Not to mention he was so personable as well! Would recommend the maintenance crew at Avalon! So far, a great experience with them!

Ive been living here for more than 1.5 yrs now. I lived in a different apartment community across the street for 2+ yrs before. Given a choice, I would choose Avalon again over others in this Union City neighborhood.Firstly, this is a modern (built, I believe, in 2009) multi-level apartment building with space-efficient floor plans. No more wasted space for fireplaces, which not only do people of this region not use in this day and age, but also they are a nightmare to childproof. The units are also wired for Cat 5e Ethernet. So, you can put your internet modem in the closet and out of sight.Second, Avalon has elevators (it even has a big freight elevator). Having lived in an apartment which did not have one, I can vouch for its utility. Carrying check-in bags, water bottles, groceries, babies, strollers and car seats up and down four flights of stairs is no joke!Third, the management and the maintenance teams are very friendly and efficient. This is not unique to Avalon. But, the way they get to issues reported by residents (there are 450+ units) within the promised 24-48 hrs is truly commendable. Additionally, the common areas and amenities are well maintained.Fourth, admittedly, there have been instances of car break-ins at Avalon in the last year (being located so close to Bart and other commercial activities has its own share of disadvantages), but the management was quick to take feedback and install CCTV cameras in the garages. Im not noticing as many incidents in 2021 as I did in 2020.Update 1: Taking a star off for planned water shutoffs. A day ago, we were informed of a planned event for hot water for up to two hours. It got changed to hot & cold for two to five hours all of a sudden without any notice. Secondly, there have been instances in the past where we would be notified of a event a few days in advance, but after waiting and planning for it, the event moves to the next day. Since the water mains are likely to be same for the entire building which has hundreds of units, many people are inconvenienced for no fault of theirs

Excellent apartments and Super friendly staff in the leasing office. Kudos to Manali for helping me out with the move. I would definitely recommend it to anybody looking for a nice place to stay in Union City.

This is my favorite apartment complex in Union City. We have been here since the start and are raising 2 young children after swiftly moving to the Bay Area. While COVID lockdown imposed additional limitations to our quality of life, Avalon staff (esp Matt A) have made sure we got what we needed to make our needs met. We especially enjoy the warm smiles and extra work, such as organizing Friday food trucks and community events, to keep everyone sane (and connected) in this taxing time. Thank you, the Avalon team!

Five stars is not enough to show how happy I am with Avalon Union City, especially in regards to the Leasing Consultant Matt Andar. I originally was interested in Avalon because they have many locations to relocate to, but that is not exactly why I chose to live here. Matt made us feel at home, even though I am on the other side of the country! Matt has always been a great help and youll be in great hands if you work with him. The spotlight needs to be shined on him.

The staff at Avalon Union City continues to provide excellent service. I wish to thank Brian Sniders group for the maintenance recently completed in my apartment. Eduardos professional manner and proficient work was much appreciated and another good example of the quality Ive received from Brians staff.

I have been living here for just over a year now so that I feel I can leave an honest review of this place. There are some businesses that are just impossible to get high ratings like car dealer shops and apartment communities since you cannot please everyone. However, I can say for sure that the staffs at Avalon Union City do their very best to satisfy everyone.I moved here just before the pandemic and shortly after, i started working from home. Yes, the pandemic cost us not to use gyms and pools, but the staff tries their best to accommodate our needs by providing other activities including food truck Friday, online excercise classes, bingo nights via Zoom, etc.The apartment is clean and safe. The staff is always out to clean the area. They just updated the security and installed bunch of additional surveillance cameras to make sure we are safe from rising crime around the neighborhood (well, it seems crimes have gone up everywhere).The maintenance team is very responsive so you get things fixed in your apartment within a day or two once you submit the work order through the tenant portal.Office staffs are the main reason that I am giving a 5 star review. All of them are very kind and they treat you sincerely. Especially, PJ Yann is the main person you probably get in touch with once you end up living here, and he is by far the best manager that I had from different communities. He remembers you and always look out for you. You are treated like a friend, not just a random customer. Someone should give him a raise.After all, my family originally planned to move out to a bigger place after our one year lease, but we extended the lease for one more year and decided to move to a bigger apartment within the building just because we have been very happy living here at this apartment complex.

I submitted an inquiry to this apartment complex to ask a specific question because I was interested in it, however I am not looking to move somewhere until the new year. A Leasing Assistant by the name of Sidney responded to my inquiry trying to get me to book an appointment to learn more about the community, tour, etc. but when I told her I wasnt ready for that and only wanted information on the one item I was asking about (utilities-related), Sidney disappeared and has not responded to any follow up since. Not a good first impression......

Cons:1. Not safe2. A lot of car break ins3. No good response from the staff even after multiple complaints by residentsPros:1. Residents are very helpful2. Nice apartments3. Bart, grocery stores are close

Apparently, they are available on Tuesday (they say our office is closed on Tuesday) to print and put patio evacuation or pet related notices on your door, but they are not available to work on your maintenance requests.

Pros:- close to bart- close to nearby markets- apartments are spaciousCons:- Avalon staff is not really helpful after you have signed your lease (it takes a while to even get them to respond)- thin walls- Car break-ins- 1 car parking even for 2 bedroom apartments- No improvements in security even after multiple complaintsNow that remote work is becoming more common, there isnt any need to live near the BART station. I would only consider this community if you were to take BART everyday.

My family and I lived at Avalon for just about two years, and though we absolutely hated living in the East Bay, the staff at Avalon made our time at least bearable. James and Farrah specifically are dynamite, and whatever they are being paid, they deserve a raise because these are the kinds of people you are lucky to have working for you. Hear that, Avalon Corporate overlords? Any time we had any sort of issue, the office staff were responsive and provided prompt service with kindness and a genuineness you dont find most places, especially in the Bay Area. Farrah always went out of her way to say hello to my son, chat with my husband and myself for a few moments and ask us how we were doing. She is such a nice person. James runs the place well from what I can tell and they take security and safety in the complex very seriously. I saw James once personally confront a shady tailgater who was trying to follow me in to the parking garage while James just happened to be there, and he chased the guy off. It was awesome. So if you have to live in the Bay, this is the place to be. I can say the apartments are spacious, the grounds are kept up well, and the location is good (right next to BART and Safeway) but its the people who make the place. James, Farrah and the awesome maintenance staff (cant remember names, sorry!)

I am updating my review that was posted several months ago. The initial review was written after a series of break-ins, car thefts, and other security issues that had many residents here on edge. While the problem hasn’t gone away, I’m happy to report that it’s gotten better.The new Amazon HUB lockers are fantastic. No more stolen packages! They’ve cleaned the hallways and sprayed the outdoor stairways clean. They’ve taken a stronger stand against residents smoking in the community. And they’ve even started conducting audits on those who keep garbage on their balconies. James also held a community meeting to discuss security concerns with local police and the security team. While it didn’t solve the community’s issues it did get us talking. All of this has helped make the community feel safer, cleaner, and overall a more comfortable environment for everyone.I appreciate the owner and management taking our initial concerns into consideration and have overall been very happy with the recent changes here. Thank you!

And yes there are a lot of issues with the community in general - being by the bart where homeless people sometimes get in, or solicitors tailgating and disturbing residents are a common occurrence. But these are not issues the leasing office can fully control - especially after-hours. Both James and Farrah have been tirelessly driving to better the community and we as residents have been positive changes over the last few years. We have seen James and Farrah tour the community and get things cleaned up personally. And Farrah totally inspires me by being always so friendly and helpful even after working the number of hours she does and the problems that keep coming up here.We would have loved to stay more and hope that we can in future find a home here. I could always go to her if the dishwasher did not function properly or if there was a noise issue or something and she would ensure things got fixed right away. We hope the next residents of our apartment feel as much warmth as we did during our stay. And thank you Farrah for making Avalon a home for us :)

Am a resident who lives here for two years.I love how convenient the location is and Avalon has excellent service on a fast response in every meaning.BUT.Read your lease.I do not feel it is really welcome pet lovers.For example, there is a little park inside of the apartment, but it is not for your pet.I received the email from the manager it indicates:I wanted to send another reminder out for all of our dog owners in the community. When walking your dog please take them to the exterior of the community to do their business. Once they finish their business it is your responsibility to clean up after them. Residents that can not follow these simple guidelines will be asked to remove their pets from the community.I have following response for that1. Most dog owners DO pick up after their dog. I have two dogs, And I carry waste bag all the time.2. I have moved in here with dogs and the leasing office did not tell me there is an area where I could not bring my dogs.3. Instead of telling what residents should not do, the leasing office has a lot to do, for example, set up a supervision camera, and check the record, it is easy to identify irresponsible dog owners and also increase the safety inside of the apartment.4. Set up more lighting in the park area. It is easier to see in the night so dog owner could SEE their pet waste.5. We also pay rent and these little areas do not only belong to people who live closer in there.SO PLEASE LET THE RESIDENT TAKE OFF THEIR SIGN.(Leasing office has noticed we do not suppose put anything in the balcony but they feel OK about it has a sign about no welcoming dogs)I asked if they know there is a sign, they say yes they do know but it is OK.I do feel it is just a gesture to say we welcome pet owners, it has no real deep remaining.

1) Lots of breakins and People stealing doormats,2) Trash problem: There is trash everywhere in the garage and near elevators, there are no trash bins at elevators and obviously ppl are throwing away used tissues everywhere.3) Not happy with the maintenance. The hallway doesn’t have ventilation and smells very dusty. Also the portions of the ceiling was removed and never closed.

This apartment had been our home for the last 9 years and we enjoyed every single day living there. Not only because the unit is so spacious with very organize closets, in unit laundry, island in the kitchen, walking distance to shops and very close to Bart but also the staffs are very helpful and friendly. They are just like family to us. We loved coming to the leasing office just to say Hi and talked to them.Rashmi would always greeted me with her smile every time I entered the leasing office and helped me with our needs promptly with her great working attitude.James is the best manager. He is very professional and respectful.James and Farrah would raised the bar to do whatever they can to help us with all of our needs. Best team work ever.Not to mention that the maintenance staffs are also great. Thanks to Heidis leadership.It was our best experience ever living in an apartment.Thank you again for helping our family with a smooth transition moving to our condo.

It has been two months that we have moved into our apartment here. It has been a very good experience so far. The community is really well maintained. Tall the amenities like the pool, gym, mail room and package hub are really well kept.The community and maintenance staff have all been really helpful and responsive. Ms.Rashmi in particular has gone above and beyond in providing us with excellent service from showing us the property, getting our lease signed and taking care of our move in day.

We had a really great experience moving into Avalon Union City. Rashmi made sure our transition into our new apartment was smooth and hassle free. We have had great experience so far. The apartment and surrounding area is neat and clean and we are looking forward to continuing our stay here at Avalon.

We have been living here for almost two years. It has been a great experience. For an apartment, besides the apartment itself, the convenience of its location, and the included amenities, from my opinion, the residents experience highly depends on the interaction with the management team of the apartment. The team here is the best that I have experienced so far.Rashmi is very professional, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, we have to cease our lease earlier than expected. Speaking of it, I have tons of questions regarding to how to sublease our contract, how to choose between penalty and rent responsible when ceasing the lease earlier, how to handling the cleaning, security deposit, moving, etc. She gave as clear as crystal answers to all my questions. Our moving could not be smoother.Of course, others are great as well. James and Farrah always give us timely update about our community. Kelvin/Fred always respond our service requests timely in a very satisfied way. Kelvin is particularly awesome. The central AC was broken in our unit last summer on a day of 102F. He amazingly managed to identify the problem, and fix it in an hour.Its a pity that we have to move away. We will definitely revisit here in the future when we are back!

I really like living at Avalon. It is in such a convenient location. Without a car, I am near grocery, pharmacy, bank. I also like a gym being in the building and not to mention BART in my backyard essential to get around.The staff in the office is so personable, care about my life, and the service requests are always done in a timely manner. Recently, Kojo a maintenance worker has been very kind and helpful. I highly recommend Avalon. It is clean and well maintained.

Pro - I have been here for almost 4 yrs and love this place. It is well maintained, staff is helpful and always nice and polite. Thank you JD and Rashmi for all the help to trace my lost package.Cons - Even though the apartment is smoke free but you can smell smoke in the hallways. People have been smoking on the staircase. I understand all the staff can do is send out an email telling their residents that its common courtesy. It is common courtesy to not smoke near people who wish not to breathe in the smoke.

Very good community to live in. Management at Avalon are extremely helpful..Rashmi is very friendly and accommodate your need and try everything possible to make it work. The apartment was well maintained and very comfortable.

I live here for a year. I found pretty good maintenance service with an immediate response. It also has a nice utilities including large gym, and big pool area including Jacuzzi. I think that its a best community we had.

Avalon Union City is a wonderful place and true to most other Avalon units. It is very well maintained with great community features like common areas, gym, clean interiors and friendly leasing office.I would like to especially thanks Rashmi who helped us tour the place. She was very patient with us and helped us find the best possible unit as per our budget and preferences.

Trash rooms and walkway now are very clean. I feel safe at community and walk hallways for exercise. Very quiet. Also maintenance is very good. Every time they come to the house they do something really nice also office staff is very good.

Recently moved in. So far everything is good. Nice apartment. Markets are close by. BART is close by. Management is kind, friendly and responsive. Esp. Rashmi, she is awesome. We stayed in this Apartment for more than 3 years. I had a good experience here and found the management team very friendly and addressed my issues on time. The maintenance staff is also good in completing the service requests on time.James is a very nice manager. Most of the times, I usually talk to James, Rashmi and Ashley. They all have a great working attitude and helped to address all my concerns promptly. Thanks for making my stay so comfortable.

Moved recently and find Avalon Union City extremely convenient, safe and a top class residential apartment complex. Rashmi helped me choose the apartment and to complete all the procedures smoothly, She has been extremely helpful and answered all my queries very promptly. She is a great asset to Avalon.

Best apartment complex in Union City hands down! Highlights beyond the norm...in unit washer/dryer, badge security access, garage parking, heated pool, outside kitchen with 3 grills, and a really nice gym! Oh by the way staff in the management office is always super helpful and accommodating!

The property manger was super sweet before we signed the lease, and after we signed the lease she was super rude. She got irritated just because we asked a few questions and she raised her voice in front of us. I dont expect this kind of behavior from a property manger whose job is to answer our questions during the move in process. Stay away from this building and the property manager in particular. Theyll only be nice to you until you sign the lease and then theyll treat you like animals.

Rashmi is super helpful! We like her a lot! She is very patient when we had a tour and she responded to our emails super fast.

Recently we just extended our lease with Avalon Union City. Just want to share our experiences living in this community. It is pleasant environment, community amenities are in good condition and clean (Gym center and swimming pool). Avalon Management Team are friendly, helpful, listen to our concern, and help us to find resolution. I even recommend my relative this community for his first job in bay area. We’ve been living in Avalon for around 3 years now. It’s an awesome community to stay. Being right next to BART makes it a preferred location for people like me who work in downtown. All the necessary markets are near by. Staff is another plus point here; especially Rashmi. She’s very helpful throughout our stay and she answers all queries promptly and with lot of patience. Would definitely recommend the community to anyone who is moving to Union City.

My wife and I recently moved to Avalon Union City and we love everything about it so far! The apartment units are clean, well maintained and very pleasant to live in. Amenities are modern with a great fitness center and pool. The location is excellent, being close to many restaurants and shops nearby. Its proximity to the BART station makes taking trips to SF a breeze. Rashmi, Farrah, Ashley, and the rest of the leasing office were very professional, friendly, and helpful to work with as well! Highly recommended.

I moved too the area last min and needed to find a place quickly. After looking at the apartment i moved in the next day. The staff was very helpful in getting the paperwork pushed thru. I do not regret my choice even thou it was made quickly

Love this place! So close to everything and maintenance is super! One thing though regarding security - I get knocks on the door on rare occasions from solicitors however, still rate it as a five as it already improved compared to before. Just hope those brand new gates will be enforced real soon.

Amazing place to stay. Rashmi was very friendly and helpful during the leasing process. The deposit is extremely low compared to other places. It is easy to pay rent and put in maintenance requests online. It is worth it to pay for the safety provided by Avalon Union City, since it is a gated community. So far I can not hear my neighbors. There is a gym and pool included which are open almost all hours of the day. It is right next to the BART station, Dollar Tree, Safeway, and Starbucks. Parking is included. Overall everything is great so far.

Matt Andar from the office is super nice and helpful. Once My package was misplaced by Fedex and Matt helped me in finding it. They are always very quick in their responses. The apartment is really good and also everyone from the office. I will definitely recommend Avalon Union City.

Lived here for a year. The hallways stink, the trash chutes are frequently jammed, and the parking structure is poorly secured. Got a car stolen in the span of a week. Nice walkable shopping and transit, and the staff are lovely, but the place needs work that it is not receiving despite clear and frequent requests from many residents. Something to consider.

This year is our second year living in Avalon Union City, we are very satisfied with the maintenance service for quick response, polite manner and very helpful. Mostly, we had Kelvin fixing our broken/malfuction home appliances hes very friendly, helpful and tidy. He always puts everything back on its place before moved, and no dirt left behind. Once we had another guy (forgot the name), We also satisfied with his work. Great Job, Maintenance Team!!

Avalon Union City is a good community and here are pros and cons of my stay :+ Overall Staff is really friendly and helpful. Rashmi will go an extra mile to address our concern.+James and his team were always supportive of any community events. We initiated : Zoomba, Yoga and made really good friends.+ Gym and Pool were maintained well. Service requests were addressed on time. HATS OFF to them !Cons :- One of the few things that I didnt like about Avalon is that - they kept increasing our rent upon renewal.They should understand the value of returning customers and give the benefit of renewing at MARKET PRICE if not lowering it. This was very disappointing to me as I stayed there for at least 4 years and every year they increased the rent.There were times, when residents had to move a next door apartmentwith the same floor plan - and pay all the TRANSFER FEES...- Security : Garage break-ins were common.- Cleaning upon renewal : When residents stay longer and keep renewing - the carpet etc needs some maintenance. Avalon should consider giving maintenance service upon renewal. We stayed there for 4 years asked to get carpet cleaned and they didnt agree to do it, yet increased our rent.OVER all good place to stay at but would love for them to appreciate and value the RENEWING CUSTOMERS !!!Thanks guys..!!

The staff was very helpful, and extremely sweet. Rashmi and Farah in particular were excellent. Rashmi helped us through the entire leasing process, and Farah made us feel so comfortable when we first went to collect our keys. There is also a very quick response to maintenance requests.The community is beautifully maintained and close to the BART station too, which is super convenient.

Avalon Union City has been home to me for close to a year now. Very safe, clean and well maintained apartment complex- itsbeen nothing but a positive experience for me.The staff here are very attentive and respond promptly to any concerns. Nice enough apartments and conveniently located but in the short time Ive been a resident there seems to be a large focus on profits and none on complex security. They got rid of the security and installed cameras. The cameras are great for reliving the crime they capture but not much else. Also, if you like the units get a long term lease because the management like to raise rents by about 15% year to year.
