My dog was attacked by a coyote and my usual vet was unable to see him. They took him in right away and even though they had a number of emergencies they were friendly and courteous. When the vet called with an update, she was lovely and explained everything. It took a long time but so would going to the ER. The price was not as high as I was expecting either.
They might be helpful during the day, but when we brought our 5lb dog in the during the night with bloody vomit, an inexperienced vet tech triaged her, said she was fine and didn’t need to be seen by a vet, told us to try to get her in with regular vet in the morning. She already has had not been able to take in fluids for over 12 hours and little dogs don’t have the reserve to sit and continue vomiting for another 12 hours. Wouldn’t even consider giving us anti-emetics to take her home with. Also did not bother reading her chart and noting we had to go through this same thing 18 months ago, but she was much worse that time. Poor customer service and they don’t actually care about animals.
I called the hospital to explain why I needed to bring my dog and asked if I could bring him in. The woman who answered the phone said yes and I let her know we’d be there as soon as we could, that we were about 50 miles away. At no time did she say that they were only seeing dogs that were emergencies and the doctor would make that determination. After we drove to the hospital we were informed the doctor would look at our dog and if he did not determine it was an emergency we needed to make arrangements with our vet. It was our vet that sent us. In addition, I would not have driven that far if I did not determine this was an emergency. Luckily, we found a vet in town that took care of our boy.
We brought our kitten here after he hurt his leg and the staff was super nice and professional. The Veterinarian kept in contact with me and gave me updates on our boy which helped with my anxiety and thinking he broke something. Super nice and sweet. Hopefully we wont be back BUT if we are this is the place we are going. 5 stars.
We had a late night scare with our elderly cat and took her to this vet after a few hours of being lethargic and off balance. Sadly, she was deep into renal failure and had to face the sad reality of euthanizing her. All the staff was very respectful and professional and caring. Thank you so much for giving us a paw print to remember her by and letting my best friend hold his cat as they administered the euthanasia. Thank you thank you THANK YOU for being so kind and helpful and fast. It means the world to us.
!!! DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE !!!My pet has a spinal infection that makes it difficult for her hind legs to walk properly, the technician that came to get my pet didn’t arrive with a sling like the previous drop offs/pickups. After confronting the tech that my pet is not able to walk on her own without a sling and that she is pretty heavy set, she continued to say, “I understand” and ignored us when we stated that she WILL NEED a sling. Thinking she is the vet tech and might have a better way of approaching how to help my pet, we let her help and she thought it was a good idea to YANK (CHOKE) on the leash and GRAB her tail and try to lift her. Immediately, my pet started stressing out and trying to get away as the tech was still trying to grab her. We told her “stop, you’re stressing our pet out,” which she completely ignored and commented, “she’s fine”. We had to move the tech out of the way in order to calm our pet down before anything could’ve happened. If they have the audacity to do this IN FRONT of us, you can only imagine what they are doing behind closed doors. Not to mention, this place is terrible with returning phone calls. Especially after dropping off your pet. Prior to this incident, I had dropped my pet off at 9pm and did not receive a phone call until 3am the next day and didn’t pick her up until late afternoon that day. I understand that there are other animals that require intensive care, but to keep an animal for 15 hours? They are short staffed and that needs to be approached. On the other hand, the veterinarians at this location genuinely care about our pets. They are very good at diagnosing and explaining the condition. Where they fall short, is the aftercare part of how to take care of your pet at home. As for the staff? They cause the most problems at this location. They are very rude and do not care.In conclusion, this would be a decent facility if they removed a few staff members and replaced them with trained employees that actually love what they’re doing and have compassion for animals.
I’ve never left a review before, but reading these reviews before coming in and given my own experience, I simply had to. I came home a few days ago to find a large wound on my cat’s back (still don’t know what caused it), and after calling 3-4 emergency pet hospitals, the Tucson Arizona Animal Hospital were the only one’s who were able to take him in at the time. We checked in on the phone in the parking lot, and my cat was quickly picked up by the staff and admitted in. I was told that all communication was going to be by phone, so I could go home if I wanted to and the doctor was going to give me a call once they were able to see him. I waited in the parking lot just in case. Once the doctor called, she was very informative and explained thoroughly everything she was going to do, and she was very reassuring as well. I got a call AGAIN once the procedure was finished, and then another call once he was ready to be discharged. Given the fact that this was an emergency, I would say that the price was very reasonable. As soon as we got home my cat was already purring, eating, and drinking his water just fine. I would recommend this animal hospital for any pet emergency.
The staff was quick to respond and help my mom out as we brought in her old pup. They helped him through a seizure and were able to get him on a Gurnee to easily transport him so he wasnt stressed further. The facility was beautiful and clean. It felt very open, but secure. It was eleven at night, but we could tell there was a remembrance garden out back. The price was a really reasonable! My moms normal vet (who is on limited hours due to the virus and hour) charged more for the same procedure my mom had to do with her other old pup a few weeks prior. I was expecting a bump on price because it was an emergency visit and a pet hospital. I was very happily surprised!I would 100% recommend this vet hospital to my friends and family.
They knew we were driving over an hour for an emergency. Unfortunately, my pet did not make it. Because the drive was so far, I asked several times if his remains could be sent to me. The woman said no problem, even made sure my address was correct. Received the call that his remains were back today and I needed to come pick them up. Super rude and come to find out they cant ship them, so that was a lie. So if you want to be lied to and then have someone be super rude when dealing with the death of a pet, this is your place.
They were very helpful and professional. Ayo says thank you Megan.
I never leave reviews, but for place I am making an exception. The one star is a overstatement. Find anywhere else to take your animal for treatment.
Do not come here ! This place charged me $1000 to have my dog looked at and tests.. and got no answers! Shes still shes throwing up weeks later on and off so something is wrong what did they take tests for ???
On Easter Sunday evening, my 4 year old American Bulldog decided to go after a frog and immediately regretted her decision. She started to foam at the mouth and had pure terror in her eyes. I called frantically thinking she was poisoned but the nice lady explained to me very calmly that Arizona doesn’t have poisonous frogs but their skin is toxic and all I needed todo was flush her mouth for 10 minutes. She was so helpful and brought me to tears that she was so calm when I was frantic. After my pup got all cleaned out I called back to thank her. With it being Easter along with a serious virus, the person on the other end could have said “sure bring her in!” with no care in the world to charge a couple hundred dollars for washing my pups mouth out. But not this place. I Received the best service over the phone and paid zero dollars.I couldn’t be more thankful considering ours pets are our family.Thank You
Took my dog in around 8 PM today and the staff and provider took him in right away and were able to resolve my dogs issues. I can’t thank them enough and will be coming here in the future
They don’t care about dogs unless they’re REALLY sick. Broken bones? Nope, not a problem at all. Can’t even spare the 10 minutes for an x-ray, their lunch break is much more important.
Only take your injured animal here if it is your only option. The communication among the staff is very poor and the technicians are rude and careless. It is evident these people don’t actually want to work with animals in emergency situations.
Horrible.
24/7 Emergency Services for animals.First: The staff are some of the most caring Ive met in the animal medical services field. They truly care, and are adamant about being there for you for any questions, concerns, anything. It isnt the cheapest in the world, but that is anywhere you go. So that being said, you really get your moneys worth when you come here. The staff are 10/10, the facility is amazing a 10/10, the doctors are top notch 10/10 as well. They are all so experienced and passionate, you really cant find that many places.Second: Our situation was for our eldest cat, dying of lymphoma. They nursed him back from the brink of starvation and dehydration. Though we didnt have the funds personally for chemo, they laid out all our options, the costs, recommended credit care (credit card specifically for medical expenses for pets.) Though our baby isnt cured, he has had a way more comfortable last few days, with prescription medications and subdermal fluids. They even showed me how to administer them at home, saving time, money and frustration. They truly are amazing here. Right now all I can afford it a 5/5 rating on google, however I would like to help make donations and fundraise for them in the future to show my appreciation and thanks to them. Our baby will be passing this weekend 06/23/2019. And we will be able to do that at this hospital, as they help with euthanizations. They have a beautiful outdoor garden specifically for the occasion, as well as a business card of several at home companies or locations. If you have any thoughts on whether or not it is worth it to take any of your babies in, dont worry about second guessing this location. You will get every dime worth of treatment and care here. Thank you for everything.
