The apartments themselves, grounds, and location are great. However, if given the choice, I would not sign again. While utilities are included, you do not get to choose when you would like AC or when you would like heat- “corporate” decides when you get what type of air. This is mentioned when you sign your lease, and I was assured that when it gets warm (which we all know happens early in Tucson), they would be quick to turn on the AC. Unfortunately, despite weeks of high 70s and 80s days and numerous resident complaints, management refuses to switch to AC. My apartment has been 85 degrees in it for quite some time despite ceiling fan, portable fan, and opening the window. Consider carefully before you sign, especially if you have kids or pets!

Lived here for 2.5 years, once in a 2-bed 1-bath, once in a 1-bed 1-bath. Both were great experiences. Extremely clean, well kept grounds (including a large pool), very quiet, and in a walkable, safe neighborhood. The apartments themselves are very regularly updated with new flooring, carpets, appliances, etc., so despite it being an old-ish complex (built in the 70s I think), it certainly doesnt seem like it. I also really loved that all utilities were included in the rental cost. And Dalia the apartment manager is super kind and accommodating.

I have been here for a little over two months, and I am loving it here. It is a nice, quiet, pet friendly location. Super green! The people I have encountered are very sweet and welcoming. Rent is reasonable considering location and all that is included. Nick Boettcher is a wonderful property manager as he has been so helpful, informative, and over all a truly an amazing person. Highly recommend if you are in search of a new home.

One thing thats great is capistrano hires some of the friendliest and understanding people Nick Boettcher was the Tenant when I moved in and was a fantastic help while he was here. Dalia Andrade has since filled Nicks spot and I can confidently say shes just as wonderful and helpful with my inquiries as Nick was.

The overall experience here was terrible. New manager was unprofessional and quite rude, perhaps just he was always having a bad day?? (Kinda acted shady at points) Ant and water bug infestation in my room that they never took care of no matter how many times I asked. 800 dollars for a tiny studio wasn’t an ideal situation. Only plus was that the residents were nice and respectful!

Lived here for about a year during my final year of college. I always thought the appliances were quite nice. First apartment Ive had with a nice shower, gas stove, and amazing AC. Utilities included which makes rent easy. Very upheld community, they installed covered parking recently and arent shy of making upgrades or repairs when needed. Staff is also great, always helpful and maintenance is quick. Out of all the places I lived during my college career, this was the best. (And I lived in 3 different apartments).

Overall, I have really enjoyed living at Capistrano. I have found the office and maintenance staff to be quick, friendly, and accommodating. On occasion I have needed some small repairs done in the apartment and they were all done the same day. It is nice to leave for work with a problem and come home and voila its fixed. I have found it to mostly be a quiet community. I have heard the neighbor downstairs a few times, but I think its only to be expected living in an apartment complex. I love the neighborhood. I enjoy walks to Himmel Park every day and its nice to walk through the beautiful historic homes. There are also restaurants within walking distance and its super close to stores or whatever else you may need. They are older buildings, so dont expect the Ritz but I enjoy having all of the utilities included so I just pay one bill each month. There is always lots of parking available and now everything is covered which is nice when its so hot. If you are looking for a good location that is clean, well-maintained, and responsive I would highly recommend Capistrano. And I dont write reviews.

Lived here a couple of years during college. Very quiet 90% of the time. Close to the U of A with good access to bike paths and is in a very nice historic neighborhood. Grounds are very well kept. Only downside is that construction noise was sometimes an issue as there have been several renovation products over the past couple of years.

If I still lived in Tucson, this is where Id want to be. Easy walking distance to the university, the gym, the grocery store, the movie theater and the bookstore. I thought there were only a few people living there at first. I eventually realized it was full and everyone was just that quiet.

Ive lived here for 2 years and recently signed a lease for a 3rd. The location is great and the rent is reasonable, the apartments are nice and have gotten several quality of life upgrades since Ive lived here. The leasing office has always been kind and attentive to anything Ive needed. I havent had many noise issues - there are a lot of university students here, youve got to have reasonable expectations when the semester gets out, but its never been anything I consider unreasonable or out of hand.Ive loved living here and would recommend it to anyone that wants to live alone or with a small family.

All utilities included. Good layouts and cheap rent within a nice neighborhood. The pool area is awesome. The laundry facilities are cheap. A very nice place to live over all. If I were to change one thing it would be the parking lot, it is cramped but there is ample street parking.

The location of Capistrano is excellent. The Sam Hughes neighborhood is a great spot by campus. The apartments are decent. Not super big, but not too small. It has all the basics except a microwave. The walls are incredibly thin inside the apartment and between different apartments. We could clearly hear our neighbor watch TV regularly. The reason for the 1 star is the management team. The maintenance guy is very nice, but often forgetful and has to be reminded to fix things in the apartment. The real problem are the office employees. When it was time to move out my roommate and I emailed them twice, called them 5 times, and left 5 messages trying to figure out if we could mail the keys back. This was over the course of several weeks with no response. We ended up mailing the keys back but they were late and we have not received our security deposit back. I have never in my life experienced such unprofessionalism. I would not recommend Capistrano because of the utter lack of disrespect from the management team. I feel bad for anyone who ends up living here because once you say you are not renewing they become completely unresponsive. Decent apartments, awful management team.UPDATE:Regarding the security deposit, a new management team took over and returned our security deposit back in a fairly timely manner, so the rating was increased to 2 stars. If the new management is able to do a reasonable job going forward Capistrano Apartments are easily a 3 star apartment complex.

As the Maintenance Supervisor of capistrano id like to say that my experience here has been more than satisfactory. We do our best to go above and beyond our residents expectations to deliver the best living experience we can. Though i am starting a new career soon, at no fault to the facility or management, i wanted to take a moment to let everyone know how genuinley unique and memorable my experiences here will be. GREAT PLACE TO LIVE. The property has had many recent upgrades, so it looks and feel like a luxury living community without the hefty prices associated. BEAUTIFUL POOL AND GROUNDS that is heated in the winter. Absolutely perfect place to live.

Was a great place until Scotia took over management and has gone downhill considerably. Since then there has been loud construction noise in the morning for months. As a result I havent had a full nights sleep for almost 6 months. They decided to work on all the parking lot areas at once so for about 4 weeks I couldnt even park where I live. One neighbor was smoking so much pot that you could smell it every day in my apartment and management did nothing for months. It was bad enough I had to leave my apartment until they stopped for the night. The issue only resolved itself after that neighbor left. Still have the light outside of my apartment broken and has been that way for nearly a year. This place used to be great but wouldnt recommend to anyone at this point. This is coming from someone that has lived there for nearly 6 years at this point.

Ive lived here for 3 years and its a safe and quiet community. There were a few growing pains with the change in management as they upgraded the property which did lead to construction noise and some difficult parking situations as the covered parking was installed. However, the property looks much better and the covered parking is a perk. Its close to campus and only a couple blocks from a biking road that leads directly to campus! Best of all the community is pet friendly and has allowed me to keep my pets with me while attending grad school. Alyx Hill, the community manager, has been wonderful to work with and incredibly helpful and understanding. I took a job in Wyoming and she has made the transition process as smooth as possible including working with us as we transferred to a month to month agreement before moving. Its been a good home for us.

I am a current resident living here at Capistrono since June 2019. I wanted to take a moment to complement the extraordinary customer service for both the front office and the maintenance team on site. I have lived in complexes where it’s practically impossible to get in touch with the front office, Alyx is always on hand to address any of my needs. Although I’ve only had one work order since living here, but the maintenance man Mark is always very prompt and very efficient, my work order was completed in the same day. I have never lived in a community as quiet as Capistrono. The grounds are so well-maintained and I’m very lucky to be a resident here, I would recommend it to anyone! Best customer service around!

Ive lived here for about three years now. As a grad student, I didnt want to be around a ton of loud undergrads but still wanted to be close to the UAs campus. Capistrano fits that need. The grounds are well maintained, and having utilities included in rent is nice, especially since Im a wimp from up north that doesnt think that 85 degrees is an acceptable temperature inside an apartment in the Summer and I tend to run my AC more than I probably should.Management is on-site (must have changed since the review from 7 years ago that says they arent). Which is great. We now also have a system for storing packages that sends you an email and keeps them in lockers inside the laundry room (of which there is one for the whole complex, rather than in-unit... but good luck finding that in Tucson). So, no problem if you cant get to the office before they close to pick up a package. The only downside is the price, I feel its a bit high for the one-bedroom considering the size and length of time since anything has been remodeled (kitchen primarily shows this). However, I figure Im paying for the location, which is a good one. Ive had no issues and would recommend.Edit: This place has since been bought by Scotia Group and may or may not be run well in the future. Too soon to tell.

Lived here for four years and my experience was horrible. I had really loud neighbors and reported it to the front office, but they did not take any initiative.
