Never have I lived in an apartment building ran by such inconsiderate management. Ive been shouted at over the phone for asking a simple question, if I could even get them on the phone. Getting in contact with them at all was incredibly difficult since no one seems to know how to answer a phone or respond to an email. My apartment was constantly having utility problems that maintenance needed to fix, being that I was promised an updated apartment and didnt receive one. But I went weeks without getting any updates, repairs, or contact back. I had to hound them for any knowledge, just to be told our maintenance crew were all out sick. And yet, I would see them ON THE PROPERTY working on other apartments. They dont care about their tenants and certainly dont treat them as a business should. I am so incredibly frustrated. Any time I would have a simple question, they treated me like I was either incompetent, bothering them, or just recited the same thing at me without looking into any ways to help me. They simply dont care. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else. Second Avenue is NOT it.
I actually dont mind the apartment I am renting at the moment. Its not very big roughly 500-550 sq ft and rent is a base rent of around $1,200 that quickly goes to over $1,400with all the littel fees that are tacked on. Its $40 alone for the convience of paying my rent online which seems a bit steep since these apartments arent even close to high end or booshie at all. They are very plain, very small apartments with ONE tiny storage closet. My neighbors are all very polite which I suppose is luck of the draw. The property looks nice enough and its not trashy, although, you do actually leave your trash on your porch for them to pick it up which looks a little trashy from the outside in my opinion. The little maintenance I have requested was handled within a few days and the team was polite and proffesional, but I have heard complaints from others in regards to their needs. Honestly overall its an okay place but when everytime I tell my friends how much I am paying for what I get their reaction everytime is God d*mn! How much? Is it fancy or something? Why?. I have payed a similar price for a much nicer, much larger apartment but my neighbors were terrible people so I am willing to make the trade personally. There are obvious little patches/fixes all over the walls that can be pretty noticable when looking around with all the lights on. Its just very very plain, small, and average for the price. Maybe Im crazy but it seems greedy when my base rent is around $1,200 and they find a way to bump it to over $1,400 a month in extra fees. Just my thoughts. All in all Id say if youre looking I say its at least worth checking out. Also, if you like diversity there is at least some of that here as well which is cool.
TRASH COMPANY THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR ANYTHING THEY CAN!!!!! DISPUTE IT AND THEY REFUSE TO TALK AND SEND YOU TO COLLECTIONS THEY DONT CARE ABOUT MEDICAL ISSUES OR KIDS BEING RESPECTFUL. WOULD RATE THIS 0/5 . NEVER AT THE OFFICE TO TALK TO CANNOT FULLFILL A MAINTENCE REQUEST WAY TO SPENDY FOR BEING TREATED LIKE TRASH
Put in my 30 days notice they access my apartment and change my locks after 10 days without my notice even though I was completely up-to-date on all rent and they will not let you have access to my belongings.
These apartments have everything you could possibly need nearby. Coffee, shopping, Salons, Gyms, Sports clubs, post office, apparel stores, fast food, 15 minutes from Portland, 24 hour emergency vet 2 min away for pet lovers, ER/clinics right down the road, parks, trails, bus stops everywhere for max riders. You get one parking spot for each apartment but they offer garages and have two parking lots so worst case scenario you have to walk a little if you have an extra car and need to utilize visitor parking. We only have one car and life here has been easy for us. There’s a dog park and playground in the complex and a nice trail we walk our dog on. If someone parks in your reserved spot you can have them towed. Maintenance is always extremely quick and understanding when issues arise. Lance is great and is the only part of the office staff I have really dealt with. The apartments have all amenities such as W/D & dishwasher.UPDATE: Valet trash services the last few months have been really difficult to put up with. Sometimes they leave our trash on stairs and we have to bring it back up. They are also rude. Reducing a star due to valet.
Alden apartments are in complete darkness at night, you can’t see the entry and half of the property is not lit at night and it’s really hard to see
DO NOT RENT HERE. From day one we had nothing but issues, we were lied to and mislead by the lady that showed us the apartment, we asked multiple times if the price included water/sewer/trash. We were reassured each time that those were included in the price of $1150, turns out that wasnt true. Of course had they provided me with the paper rental agreement I requested multiple times I would have seen that, but I was forced to sign an electronic lease I couldnt read because the font was so small. Our recently updated apartment was so shoddy that cabinet doors fell off, the tub would clog weekly (it happened so much the maintenance guy left tools so I wouldnt have to wait on him). We once went almost 2 days before they made it to fix our broken toilet in a one bathroom apartment. The washer broke multiple times, one time they left it full of water for almost a week before they fixed it, of course I had to personally go to the office and demand they come fix it since the whole apartment started to smell like moldy water. The belt in the dryer started to squeak extremely loudly and they told me to just deal with it since it still worked, I only got them to fix it after harassing them and showing a video where you could hear the dryer from the parking lot. No one cleans up after their dogs, even in the dog park area, making it unusable. The water heater broke and their fix was to turn the temp down so the hot water would last longer, it didnt help and they never got around to replacing it before we moved. Aside from all of that, the property manager Lance Millet was extremely combative and argumentive anytime I brought anything to his attention, he absolutely has to be right and will argue himself in circles. Hes also very deceptive and shady, I wouldnt trust a word that comes out of his mouth. They cant seem to keep anyone around for more than a couple months to work in the front office, Im assuming they all quit because of Lances behavior as a boss. Ive never had such a bad experience with a property manager in my life. Overall, this was a the worst experience Ive ever had at an apartment, upon move out we left the place spotless and they still only want to give us $300 out of a $1400 deposit. Also trying to get anyone from their corporate office to return your call is impossible. I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far, far away from this place.
Pros:- Maintenance Requests are fast (its been 1/2 days every time Ive submitted) and its pretty easy to submit/review them.- After they re-established their online/automatic payments, the system is pretty easy and straightforward to use.- The management is friendly and is willing to keep packages past the date theyre contractually obligated to keep them.Cons:- Several residents use visitor parking instead of paying for a second spot, seem to have been getting away with it for a while.- My apartment faces the highway and my unit doesnt have anything in place to deal with highway noise.- I miss the dumpsters. The pamphlets mentioned the valet service was supposed to lower costs, however I miss taking garbage out on the weekend. Additionally, cardboard recycling is on the other side of the complex.Fun Facts- Theres a connection between the two complexes, but it hasnt appeared on any maps Ive seen as of today.- This neighbourhood is located near a lot of grocery stores and other conveniences (New Seasons, Fred Meyer, Whole Foods).Overall, its not a bad place to live, just watch out for neighbours sniping visitor parking and try to get a unit that doesnt face the highway.
I am very impressed with this place. Lance and maintenance have been extremely helpful. My car got door dinged a couple of weeks ago and we asked if there would be a different spot that would be available coming up in the future. Instead of me parking in the visitor parking they swapped our spot with a visitor spot, so the parking space was wider for my car to fit. This is something that no leasing manager has to do. I am so appreciative with how easy this moving process has been and how nice all the staff are. Plus everyone around us is SO quiet. Couldnt have asked for a better spot to move.
New management are professional and friendly, as well as responsive to all work and information requests. Grounds are excellent and complex staff (maintenance, grounds) are top-notch. Management even keeps their doors open so you can just walk in and ask a quick question rather than needing to send an email! The apartments themselves are also quite nice. All-around the best complex Ive ever lived in!
Ive actually been living here for almost five years. This is the longest Ive lived anywhere. The maintenance and office folk are very friendly, professional, forgiving when theyre fixing your apartment up and it looks like cave trolls had a wrestling match in it. *Blush*. Youre within a bike rides distance to great eats, a library, and shopping.
This place is amazing other than its small.
When I first moved here 7 years ago or so, it was GREAT!! Rent was a reasonable $850 + utilities. It has since changed hands so many times it is unreal and rent is skyrocketing!!! And I get nothing new to show for it; no new paint, carpeting, blinds, - nothing. I believe the cabinets are from the day the place was built - very old! There is a storage problem, there is very little. There are a lot of kids now, they play in the parking area and are very unaware of the cars. I rarely see any adult supervision when these toddlers (3 - 6 years old) are out running around. I find this to be very scary. For the most part, it is a very quiet, comfortable place to live. I love the park like setting and i do like the noise of the freeway (call me odd).
Great place to live. Close to everything, clean, nice people, and in a great area.
Lived here for a long time. Great staff very attentive and can walk or bus anywhere easily.
The property manager here is quite helpful. Their corporate office is not.
Always closed early! I’ve lived here for about a year and getting my hands on my own packages is near impossible. The office is always closing before I even get off work and I’m left without my stuff for days. It’s interfered with multiple time sensitive deliveries. I also never get any sort of notice wether they actually have my package or not.Not happyEDIT: After leaving this review Lance (management) provided me with an excellent solution and I am much happier moving forward. Glad to see these things addressed. Perhaps in the future there can be on option to have this done whenever a package comes automatically as I still had to submit my request to have my package put in my apartment in writing.Thank you!
Been a resident here for over 14 yearsBest management yet. Management is very friendly, honest and outgoing. Just had a community even and Comcast gave out breakfast. The grounds arevery clean and huge improvement over last management.
Awful management. Will never work with you when even they mess something up. Incredibly condescending, rude people. Place is incredibly overpriced and if we had not lived here already, we would be charged hundreds more than when we moved in 5 months ago. They are incredibly money-grubbing and will do their best to not contact you when problems arise, making sure to take care of everything last second.Do not be fooled. You are their last priority. They will use the bare minimum until you scream at them to do their job right, especially when it comes to apartment maintenance. This is the last place you want to live.
Valet trash service is horrible removing dumpsters so they can charge an extra fee is pure greed and if you live in the upper complex you have no available trash without walking to lower complex. The days when trash is of use ie. holidays they will not pick up trash so now instead of dumpsters we get to look at the trash on people’s doorsteps.
Overpriced, unprofessional and rude beyond all reason, DO NOT MOVE HERE!! The management try to move you in as quick as possible by showing you their nice apartment setup with all new appliances and furnishing. dont fall for this, they havent renovated any of their housing and leave you with old equipment that hardly work(washer, dryer, stove etc.) the manager speaks down to you whoever you are and seems to actually enjoy watching people struggle with payments or trying to discuss payment options as he will tell you there is nothing he can do and it cant be discussed. The online payment option is broken and whenever i tried to pay online my account never worked and i had to talk to management about it, which they never helped to sort the problem and get it to work. only to have the gall aswell to get angry when i payed with a check and charged me more for doing so.I moved out a little over a month ago and when i left i checked the apartment with the manager and he said it was fine not once after i moved out did he contact me about charges only to find out when i applied for a new apartment i was denied due to a 1600$ bill that was stuck to me from them for numerous outrageous charges including full carpet replacement which was not needed at all. I would give it no stars if i had the option as i recommend you go homeless than move here.
Do not move here! Way over priced and terrible management. Both the property manager and the property management company are horrible. The property manager is very rude, disrespectful and aggressive. Through the way he treats and speaks to renters, you can tell that he does not care about retaining their business or even about treating them with respect and professionalism. They raised rent on our very small one bedroom to 1000 per month, when I attempted to speak with them about it, he interrupted me right away to let me know they refuse to negotiate on price. You can hear the freeway nonstop, the paint began chipping the day we moved in, and the walls/ceiling are paper thin, so you always hear your neighbors. The gym is VERY SMALL, especially for how large the property is. There is only one treadmill and its always being used. When I have called and emailed the property management company to complain or get help about the manager, they either never responded or it takes me calling and leaving 4 messages to get a call back. If you do get a response, they just tell you there is nothing they can do to help. If you move here, just realize that they do not care about your experience or retaining your business. Especially if you are a woman, be prepared to be interrupted, disrespected and spoken to aggressively and rudely. Unless you enjoy overpriced and unprofessional, do not move here. They only care about taking your money. They do not care about their tenants beyond that rent check and deposit. There are much better options in Tualatin than The Park at Tualatin, and I strongly recommend that you do not move here.
Management is amazing and were not pushy when I was applying, they were upfront and tried telling me how it was going to be. The apartment is fairly priced and all updated which I like. They are friendly and always helpful for the couple of times I have come home to someone in my parking space. I wish I could give it more stars but unfortunately, im highly disappointed with visitor parking because I was told before I applied, there is plenty of parking for visitors, and its never a problem, but it is, its worse than Rivercrests parking issues. about 95% of the time my guests cant find parking. Not sure how management can make this better, but residents definitely abuse the visitor parking for their own use.
This was my dream place...management is alright but maintenance isnt the greatest. the complex is beautiful I think but the price is outrageous!!! just having one bathroom isnt worth the price of a 3brdrm. but hey! I signed up for it, so it is what it is...alright place.
So far, we absolutely love it here :) except the sprinklers come on way too much around our apartment. other than that, no complaints.
We signed our lease with the previous management company. We were thrilled with nearly everything, at first. They show you a beautiful model unit, decorated and all. We were excited when we talked it over with the leasing office and were told that the apartment we applied for would be one price but when it came down to actually putting money down on it the price was $200.00 more than what was discussed. We didnt have any time left to begin our search again so we signed up for the one bedroom unit. I wish that was all we had a problem with but there is more. On our move in day we signed the lease and given the sheet to fill out with problems in the apartment. When we finally got to the actual unit it was nothing like what we were shown. First you have to walk down 4 steps to get to get to the door, so it is partially underground, which doesnt sound like a problem until you see the windows which are much higher than normal and much smaller, there are two windows (not including the sliding glass door in the living room) one in the dining area and one in the bedroom, both very small. Couple that with the ground level view (I can see under my neighbors cars, I wish I was kidding..) and the paint color (which under normal circumstances would be nice, they call it stone but its just gray) our unit feels more like a basement than an apartment home. After that every single door in that place had a problem, the dead bolt sticks when you try to turn it, the bedroom door actually came away from the wall when we inspected the place on move in the bathroom door is off (like the building settled) and the laundry room bi-fold door comes off the track and has fallen on me and my boyfriend multiple times now. The laminate on the counter tops was coming away and they just glued it back down. The carpet smelled like cat pee in one spot in the living room but I unfortunately did not notice that until later. The unit is supposed to be upgraded but all that means is gray paint and stainless steel dishwasher and fridge. The drainage in the tub and sinks is dismal and the response I get was that the building and plumbing is just old I have tried to get these problems fixed but each time it gets fixed the same problem happens again, and its not as if we are hanging on the doors to make them this way either. the apartment next to us was vacant for a little while (probably due to the rent increase)and it was broken into. The place doesnt feel safe at night (poorly lit) and there is no sense of community like they try to boast. The thing the irritates me the most over all of that is the price of the rent, we pay $1000.00 (not including everything you have to pay for) for just the rent in 598 sq ft unit (which is the smallest) and when the new management company came in they sent out a notice that upon the expiration the cost would go up $300.00. I dont see how they can justify the price hike when no property improvements have been made and nothing in the works as far as we know. I understand that not everyone will have the same problems we have had but I want potential renters to know what they are getting into with this place. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.
Terrible apartment complex because there is no where to park for both residents and visitors. People illegally parked all over the complex because theres an inadequate number of spaces for everyone. Because of how the complex is situated, there isnt street parking either. So residents are forced to park in visitor spaces or white striped no parking areas and that leaves visitors with nowhere to park either. If you dont own more than one car, you dont have a roommate or significant other, you have no friends, and no family that will ever visit you then this is the apartment complex for you! As long as you also dont mind never being able to open your windows because of the loud noise from being situated right next to the freeway.
Moved there back in 2009 then moved out Feb.2013. When we moved in it was nice but as the yrs went by the management was like a revolving door. The place got sold in december 2012 or January 2013. the place went to crap. New owner and management had NO clue on running a place like this. Work order got misplaced. Management LIEDDO NOT move there
Apartments are really nice but they remodeled them and things tend to break especially the kitchen cabinets. But maintenance is really quick in responding to online tickets. The only two things I dont like is that neighbors tend to leave dog poop all around instead of picking it up and that we pay a fee for valet garbage and everytime I try to make use of this service the trash is infront of my apartment for days and they dont pick it up. I hope they get that straight because its a service for which were paying for. Oh and theres barely extra parking for people with two cars but that is normal in this type of places.
I felt the need to leave this review to warn others of the horrible management working in this property. The lack of professionalism was shocking, these people are not people of their word, so if you are considering this property please please get everything in writing, they will tell you one thing and do another. When we were moving out they added days from the actual move out date so that they could get 3 more days of rent. When I went to show this to the manager with time stamps I took of the forms I turned in, she asked if I took a selfie of myself with the forms...what a joke. During the same visit I was yelled at by their leasing agent of the unprofessional Jose, who was claiming I was lying, he was the one that added the additional dates to our move out. When I went into the other room to talk to the property manager, he continued to yell answers from the other room while me and the manager were now having a discussion...I couldnt believe a grown man was acting like a child, completely ridiculous. These people sink low just to make more money. I tried all I could to not get ripped off, knowing I was being honest, and I still had to pay for things I didnt owe. Please avoid the joke of Alden apartments. On top of the horrible experience of our move out, the property isnt kept up, there is dog poop everywhere you walk, people are constantly smoking in this no smoking property, and theres NEVER anywhere to park.
Took our hold deposit and applied it to someone elses late fee, when we called to check on new place week before we had to move they rented the place to someone else. Three weeks later still have not gotten a fefund for hold deposit.
Just moved out of Alden Apartments this past month, not due to their management at all. Lance, the Property Manager, is great at his job and is helpful and personable. During my move-out, he helped the transition go smoothly and, unlike some placws, did not fret over small stuff when doing the move-out walkthrough. This was the first place I had ever lived on my own, and I do not regret that choice. The rent was very good for the area and the amenities met my needs, most notably the dog park. The unit itself was a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, off of the Martinazzi entrance. Noise from neighbors bled through, but not to the point of being a major nuisance. Noise from traffic was only heard if windows or doors were open. Appliances were updated and I had no issues in that realm. The reasons for this review not bding 5 Stars are the length of team it took for their maintenance team to respond to a ticket I had submitted. As well, while out of their control, when the property switched ownership, their online portal became unavailable for paying rent, causing more frustrations than necessary; trying to drop a money order off during normal working hours around my schedule almost cost me a late fee, had it not been for Lance.Overall, I do recommend this apartment complex for anyone looking in Tualatin. It is close to shopping and dining, close to I-5, and is a cost effective place to live.
Management is awful! Unhelpful, arrogant, and power hungry they make me sick.they also charge way to much for these crappy apartments. Nothing is fixed properly and again the management is the worst around. They are most likely 12$ hour employees who think they are noblemen they really need to show more respect to the tenants.
Dont move here if you can help it. It is not a good complex at all. The management sucks and the residents are worse. There is tons of noise and a waste of time to complain about your neighbors if they are loud. Nobody has respect for their neighbors and it just sucks. I am stuck here a few more months, then I will pay more for better.
Parking is a nightmare and the security company doesnt even have a tow contract. My husband just got home from a 12 hour shift and cant even park his car and walk up up to our apartment because some loser in a subaru was feeling inconsiderate. There are tons of cars just left in the parking lot for months at a time and management does nothing about it.
After a year havent had any problems. Theres hum from the freeway in the distance, but that sort of thing isnt bothersome and drowns out neighbor noise-- which isnt that much to begin with. The gym is 24 hours, and the pool is nice, and although I go to bed very early Ive rarely had problems with noise. Management has been super helpful, and maintenance issues get resolved usually within two days of submitting the online request. Its a little more expensive than equivalent sq/ft in the area, but each unit has a washer and dryer and that is TOTALLY worth it. Location is also brilliant: right on a bus route that connects to downtown PDX all weekend and short enough walk or drive to the WES commuter line station that runs quickly into the city all week. Walking distance to Bira Deli which does beer tastings frequently during the month. Bridgeport Village with REI and Whole Foods is 5 minutes away. Over all quite satisfactory.Floor plan isnt interesting, cabinets and tub are old, parking is an issue, the trash bins have a mighty stench in the parking lot, and the mailbox kiosk floods during heavy rain. But its all pretty minor and typical stuff.
Love it here!
We just move to a 2 bedroom....nothing work...washer and dryer....we notify management aready, maintance came twice aready to see it.. but not fix.... suppostly they did...but its the same..they keep on saying is the ventilater ..... and the assistant manager said its been fix...I dont see it... stove is no working propertly ...rent is so expencive...and for things not working ..its not right...management is so rude and unprofessional
Probably the only dog friendly apartments in Tualatin if your dog is over 25lB
It sucked it was a nightmare when the children are playing outside cars just speed up and dont even honk to let them know that they need to move they dont even fix their crap when they fix ur things they steal food they dont fix things they wait about 2 months and then they fix it the storm drains all ways gets flooded and dont fall for the photos they are fake and if ur thinking about moving there dont it is a piece of sugarhoneyicetea
Very nice
