I lived here for 2 years and only moved because of professional reasons. The office staff is excellent and the maintenance crew outstanding! The landscaping is beautiful and so is the pool. It is an older complex. The appliances and windows are not upgraded, but you also dont pay 900+$ for a one bedroom! Absolutely loved living here!
I lived here alone and then when I met my husband we moved to a bigger apt. I loved living here. We lived here many years ago, (2008-2010) but I remember the apartments fondly. My apt was completely redone. New fixtures new flooring new paint, even a new toilet. Our bigger apt was nice also. Our neighbors were quiet, never had any problems with noise at either apartment.
Good place, quiet, the maintenance is super diligent, the staff and the amenities are great. The facilities are clean. The apartment look a little vintage but is in good conditions. I live here for almost 2 years and I dont have any complaints.
I lived here for about 6 months in 2019. Forgot to leave a review till now! Overall, this place was perfect for what I was looking for as a young professional that was staying in Temple temporarily. I had the 1bd/1bth/1 study floor plan that came with a washer/dryer - costed me about $915/month iirc.Pros:Super Quiet - The community is very peaceful. Mostly older people from what I could tell which I didnt mind.Good PriceGated - and the surrounding neighborhood is nice as well. Sometimes, youll get the occasional homeless person talking to themselves but I never felt threatened.Nice PoolLikable employeesVery CleanFree covered parkingLocation - Walmart, Sams Club, Fast food, Movie theater all within 5 miles.Cons:Bad Communication. The leasing office didnt respond to my emails till days later (if at all). This was so common that I just started calling for anything that I needed but when theyre not in the office (which happened often) the calls would go to a call center that had very basic information. it was basically an answering machine that didnt record any messages because I never heard back when I talked to them. The leasing agent was likable and the office was clean and welcoming, its just too bad that when something went wrong, they made me work to communicate with them.Old apartments: Just the usual problems with old apartments like faucet leaks, dated appliances and cabinets. These arent luxury by any means but that doesnt mean theyre bad. Just very basic I would say.Loud Washing machine: and its in the kitchen with no door...so...its doable but not always pleasant.Overall, Id recommend these to anyone looking for a decent place in a good location for a pretty great price (least in 2019). Just prepare yourself to work when you need something done!Hope this helps!
Been here for going on 3 years and its the best apartments Ive lived in. Gated, quiet (99% of the time), all of my neighbors are friendly and the maintenance is prompt. Everything is taken care of AND THERE IS REALLY GOOD NOISE INSULATION. My past apartments you could hear neighbors or other things going on but we dont hear a peep.My only true complaint is the early morning yard work. I stay up late because of work and about 1 day a week they start working outside around like 7:30 or 8 and I dont get much sleep. I am thankful they keep the grounds clean and I can usually plan around the days they do it so I get more sleep but sometimes its quite jarring to wake up to the sound of a leaf blower outside the window. That being the only exception, this place has been pretty much perfect for my family!
Very courteous, friendly and helpful Staff. They are willing to do anything for their residents. I like that I dont have to change my own air filter. The grounds and pool are always very nice. The laundry facility is always clean. I like that it is gated here. My apartment is perfect for my needs. The cookies in the office are very good.
Great apartment complex. Gated clean, quiet but the best part by far is Andrea and Raquel in the office. They are AMAZING. We were staying in a hotel and were looking for a place to stay while waiting to close on our house and they gave us a reasonable rate and had us moved in on the same day. They worked with us on our lease terms and when things didnt work out with the house they rolled us into a lease with no problems and we were in and out in ten minutes. They are always super friendly and say hi when we walk by. The maintenance is great and they are always cleaning the grounds and pools. Some construction going on but nothing too loud or anything. Overall a great place to live even if we didnt exactly plan on staying here.
I love Marland Place, It has been my home for the past 30 years. I love the management on all levels they are professional, friendly, and courteous all the time. The grounds and amenities are exceptional. The very first thing that caught my eye are how beautiful and serene the grounds are and kept. The community is quiet, neighbors are friendly, and I love being close to all the major shopping. I look forward to many more happy years at Marland Place
By far the best apartment community I have ever lived in! The girls in the office and the maintenance guys really go above and beyond to ensure that the people living here are satisfied. The manager will stop and say hi and ask how I am doing whenever she sees me outside. The leasing agent kindly follows up on my maintenance request to make sure all is good and even puts my packages in my apartment for me. Maintenance is super quick to respond. Big thumbs up!
I love it here.. Home away from home. I enjoy the fitness center and the laundry is always clean. Its a friendly location and love that its gated. Feel safe here and the office and maintenance take care of everything.
We throughly enjoy living at Marlandwood Place! My family moved here about 5 months ago from out of state and we have nothing but positive experiences here. Its a nice, well kept and quiet community and great for families with children. Its got great amenities and is in a good location too. The office staff are fantastic and very friendly. We would highly recommend Marlandwood Place.
Great service...Quiet environment unless your room is facing the day care then it does get a little loud from all the kids playing and screaming...but overall clean, safe not to mention the friendly staff....
Great office staff/management. Grounds and pool are always nice and clean. The longest maintainance has ever taken to respond to something is two days and has come same day for little things multiple times. Definitely recommend.
I lived here for 1 yr and moved out just because I moved to out of town. The apt management is awesome and exceptional. Shaun in the office is a great person who will help you everything you need while youre there. All the facilities or apts are clean and well managed.
Great place to stay. Affordable, close to just about anything you need around the location.
Apartments seemed really nice but management was very unwilling to work with me. I had spent the usual $40 on the application and even put down a $200 deposit to hold the apartment until I could move in. But, when my car unexpectedly broke down, delaying my ability to get there, they were unhelpful and unwilling to let me push back my move in date, even though it was within the same month.
College students and military personnel beware....They put on a good show like there professionals but they are anything but professional.Im in the military and I didnt want to make a rush decision and rent a place near Ft Hood Tx because I didnt know the area.So I found Marland Place, told them I only wanted a 6 month lease they said thats fine but we can sign you up for a 12 mo lease so you can get a discount on the monthly rent and at 6 mo if you want to leave thats ok. I was like thats great these people are wonderful trying to help a service member out.Well 6 months arrived I received a notice to renew my lease (which I still have) and I decided not to.Once I moved out I received a nasty call from the property manager threatening to take me to court and ruin my credit for breaking my lease. Why I say be aware if your military is because she said she knew the military lawyers very well which told me they must do this alot.Anyway they ended up taking my deposit and I still dont know why. I understand in Texas their supposed to send you a notice. But Ill see what the military lawyers say about all this. If I was a college student or military service member I would avoid Marland Place.
The office refuses your mails, shows up late, leaves early, over charges repairs, morning mows, and only pays attention to useless gate which never works well.
Marland Place Apartments has friendly staff and beautiful landscaping! The covered parking is a plus in this gated community. What a great place to live!
This is the best apartment community Ive lived at. Raquel and Andrea are the best apartment managers Ive ever met. Their super friendly and spot on with maintenance requests or any questions you have. They really are an absolute joy to talk to. The apartments are in excellent shape and very well maintained by the maintenance staff. Neighbors are friendly and noise level is kept to a minimum. The pool is gorgeous and always kept to a high standard. The water is always crystal clear and well maintained by a private pool and spa company. Laundry facilities are in tip top shape as well. A reloadable card is used which is super convenient and avoids the hassle of getting quarters. The gym is kept very clean and fresh smelling. Gated access provides peace of mind. I looked at 4 other apartment complexs before moving and Marland Place stayed at the top of my list.
Best move in experience, staff at the front was extremely diligent (Andrea Basey) in processing all of our paperwork, and the area is a great place to raise my two kids.
Overpriced for what you get but about as good as it gets in Temple. Staff provides good service but are older units with some older appliances, feels cheap in some regards.Hardwood floors means linoleum that is supposed to look like wood, they are not the good synthetic stuff.Carpet is clearly more than two years old, which I believe is required to be changed every 24 months of occupancy by the TAA. Been here awhile and have yet to see anyone clean the outside of any of the units windows, just the leasing office ones. Still working on the apt units that burned down more than a year later...... and becoming and eyesore.Security gates currently work, which is one of the main reasons I moved here. They were broken for six months recently, no biggie. No discount on the rent either.Stove, fridge and water heater are older, microwave and dishwasher are newer. A/c outside unit is almost new, inside unit is old. Incandescent bulbs most places but with new fixtures. Standard vintage popcorn/cottage cheese regular-height ceilings.Hot water heater was leaking, which they did fix sort of quickly, but the replacement unit is from 2003, oh the joy. Seems like I can look forward to it leaking again in the near future. Now they want to charge for a trash service that I dont use and are squeezing me for a whole extra $3/month for pest control which is done once every 3 months, on top of the rent. It aint about the money, its the principle of not nickel and diming your customers.Neighbors are not courteous or respectful of the others around them. Most everyone seems to be off in their own little world, which could be good or bad depending on your view point. Lets not discuss the apparent need to honk the cars horn when locking its doors. On certain days it reminds me of standstill traffic outside my door.Semi-regular nearby helicopter air traffic noise. Noticeable but not bad, does not keep me awake. The people in the office always do a most excellent fake nice for you, which is exactly what I expect/want as a paying customer. The property itself and maintenance seem facade nice, which is not really what I expect/want as a paying customer. While probably one of the nicer complexes in Temple, it is 4 or 5 stars only if you dont know any better. This place seems well maintained in some aspects but not others. Hits and misses the mark at the same time. The pool is always clean but they cant seem to turn off the sprinkler system while it is pouring rain.
Reasonable rate for the apartment, quick response by maintenance (maximum 2 working days), free covered parking allotted to each apartment, regular pest control service, decent storage space in the apartments, greenery greenery greenery!
My husband is a Podiatry student who rotated through Scott and White hospital last month. We have 2 small kids (ages 2 and 9 months), so we wanted to find a safe and comfortable place to stay for the month while he did his externship, that wasnt going to cost us an arm and a leg (med school budget). I wasnt finding much on Airbnb, so I thank my lucky stars that we found Marland Place, because I cant say enough good things about our stay! Our rent was about HALF as much as the Airbnbs and other corporate housing options. We stayed in a 2 bed 1 bath. It was CLEAN (and Id say I have very high standards), quiet, comfortable, and friendly! We went on walks around the property during the day, and everyone we spoke to was so friendly. They had a pool that my son asked to go in daily, but it was November, so a little too chilly for swimming. The property is about a mile from Scott and White hospital, the Childrens hospital, and the clinic that my husband worked at every day. It was a great, safe neighborhood with parks, shopping, and restaurants all within walking distance. My favorite part of our short stay were the ladies in the office. Andrea and Raquel were EXTREMELY kind and helpful. There was an issue with our internet when we first arrived, and they worked tirelessly to get it fixed and were so kind as to buy us dinner for the troubles, and lend us their personal DVD player and movies to keep us entertained for the time being! My son loved going in to get a cookie every day and see our friends. They made staying in a new place where we didnt know anyone so much easier, by being so friendly, recommending restaurants, and things to do.Id recommend Marland Place to anyone looking for an apartment in Temple, TX whether its short term, or long term. We loved staying here! It was perfect for our needs and our budget.
I describe my experience with Marland place as Fair. For starters, they pass on a cleaning cost after move out to the resident. I have lived in apartments all over Houston and have several friends that have lived in other complexes in Temple and none of the other complexes do this. It is considered a normal part for management to handle.Next, I lived there for over a year and a half, and worked nights. Every time they had to spray for bugs or maintenance had to enter the apartment I had requested it be done early in the morning, and they showed up at 1 pm. Its not a big complex by any means, and after 18 month you would think they could learn/care about their residents. Finally, when I moved out I was charged for a chipped countertop. The countertops were new when I moved in, but I never chipped it. When I brought this up to Celina, the manager, she basically said shes passing a cost onto me. I told her I would write this review and several others and she said to go ahead. I called the management company and Lexi, the complex supervisor very rudely told me she didnt know what I expected her to do, and that I was lucky they didnt up charge me the way other complexes do. I was absolutely taken aback at the way they handle customer service issues. I come from the understanding that word of mouth is beneficial for companies and you try to work with dissatisfied residents.I should add that I moved out of the complex because they started grossly overcharging for rent. I lived in an efficiency, and for the amount theyre now charging I can move into a nicer, safer one bedroom apartment. I work at the local hospital and given my experience with the complex if I had to do it over again I would move into Echo Lane apartments or Chappel Hill. I have friends that live at both that are extremely happy with management and the complex.
I moved in Marlandwood place apts last July when I got a job teaching and coaching in the area. The management (Celina) and Shawn are super nice, helpful, and friendly. The apts are older but are extremely clean and well kept, and maintained Maintainance is also very quick to respond to any problems that you need repaired.I just moved to Houston for another job and wish I had a Marlandwood Place Apts here. Again Awesome place to live and is also very very quite. I received all my deposit back when I left because I left the apt like it was when I moved in. Rent was very reasonable for my one bedroom with a study which was really big enough to be a second bedroom with its own closet. Also you had plenty of closet space in the master bedroom. I would recommend Marlandwood Place Apts to anyone!!!!!!!!
Gates dont work housekeeping sucks had a resident die in a apartment fire with 2 animals
