I lived here before the current management took over, and they are a definite improvement. They are always helpful and friendly, and the property itself has been improved as well. The location is very convenient, especially for FSU students, and the pricing is extremely affordable. All in all, I can highly recommend this place.

Ive been here for about three months now and Ive loved my experience. Whenever I had a maintenance issue, it was fixed, the leasing office was cooperative and worked with me to help find a room when I was late in renewing, Jason even helped me fix my tire today when I needed the help. I hope the hospitality continues ☺.

After doing some apartment hunting, I can confidently say that The Social Row is my choice for the next school year! The apartments themselves were great, I really liked the furnished options and the rent was very reasonable, but what made this place great for me was the staff. Melanie in particular was so kind and patient with me and answered all of my questions eagerly. Excellent staff and cute apartments!!

The staff is always super enthusiastic and friendly. We have events take place where we get free food and snacks which is always fun. The office also always has coffee and snacks we can take anytime. There is a 24hr gym and a small center with a few iMacs. The community is calm and it is a super enjoyable place to live at. There is a nice lake nearby that is a good place to sit and walk. Also, Landis green and Strozier is just a 5 minute walk away. This is a great place to live especially for the price. I have lived here a year and am definitely happy with my choice.

I helped my friend Julia move in to The Social Row late last month, and I gotta say that everyone that was helping out that morning was so nice! When we originally got to the apartment complex I think Austin was the one that helped us check in! He was super nice and he knew all of the answers to the questions that we had about the property/area! The complex looked very well put together too! Austin informed us that everything was pretty much brand new, business center, gym, etc. (and tbh I was kinda wanting to live there myself). Now, there were some issues in the apartment when we first arrived, but Jason was super helpful in getting the couple of things resolved in a timely manner! (Nowadays people expect everything to be 100% perfect 100% of the time, and sometimes things aren’t and that’s ok).10/10 would recommend The Social Row!!

I will be honest, I was slightly hesitant about visiting these apartments. I have been apartment hunting for the past few months and had awful experiences everywhere I visited. When I came here, I was able to enjoy the search for my ideal apartment. It was all thanks to Melanny Batista. She was very hospitable, had an amazing personality and was very kind. She answered all my questions, showed me and my friends, and showed me the apartments I would be the most interested in. I would completely recommend this place simply because the customer service is amazing.

The new management is fantastic! When I first moved in I was very disappointed (no oven, dirty carpet, etc) but that was the old management. New management has repainted houses, repaved the parking lot, etc. No bug infestations at all, which shouldnt be a bragging point but sadly a lot of apartments in tally have that issue. Nice, big windows in the bedrooms. My big complaint is how small the kitchens are, but thats really all I can complain about with the new management! They are great!

The only positive thing I can say about this place is the location. The staff includes some of the most unprofessional and unorganized group of people I’ve ever seen. Maintenance gets things done quickly and efficiently. The apartments might be a little small. But, they are clean and taken care of. I have never even seen a bug in my apartment. Having to get parking passes every time someone comes over can be a hassle but, there is always parking available for me and guests. I can usually park right outside my apartment. This new management company treats their tenants awfully. There have been break ins and they do not seem the least bit concerned with helping their residents feel safe or trying to help them out through a difficult time. They have raised the rent and have not followed through with any of the renovations. I lived at the Savannah’s/Indigo Row for 5 years with one year being under all of their management changes and I’m glad I got out. Theres even a bus stop within a couple minutes walk so that I have the option not to walk. Great location, and good sized living spaces. Lots of shady business and lies, such as the renovations. We were informed of renovations that would be occurring beginning in January, and this was the reason prices were going up + current appliances/spaces are a bit dated. Renovations were then cancelled without INFORMING ANYONE, which is pretty infuriating as this is the 3rd (?) year they were promised?? Have had many issues with timeliness maintenance and quality of work. Walls are very paper thin.Homeless folks hang out by the dumpster a lot, which isnt comforting when your apartment is super near to one... wish the apartment focused more on safety, but as you can see by other reviews, not much has been done about this even when they are clearly informed this is an issue.

I have had a consistent negative experience at The Savannahs. When I moved in, the past tenant was still there. The apartment was dirty and not cleaned by staff for over a week. The furnished apartment has damaged furniture that management has not replaced despite complaint. Maintenance issues are not addressed, and if addressed, not in a timely manner. During Hurricane Hermine, a dead tree on the property fell into my apartment bedroom. Many of my things were destroyed, and management has not reimbursed me nor did they address the issue in a timely manner. It took over two months for the apartment to be repaired – with debris and water damage unaddressed. Management has been unprofessional, disorganized, and uncommunicative. The rent is relatively cheap, and the location is a great distance to campus, but not worth the headache of management.

If you want to live in a cardboard house look no further. Every one of these townhouses is just thin metal sheets for walls with plaster that chips if you bump it too hard. The result is you feel like youre living with whoever is above/below/beside your apartment. My room shakes every time one of ten people in my complex shuts their front door and I can make out every word uttured from my downstairs neighbors.Everyone Ive dealt with here is totally incompetent and ready to point the blame somewhere else. One day I get back from class and realize I was towed after being parked in front of my apartment for days. They explained that the reserved spots we started sharing with Domain across the street after I moved in are actually exclusively for Domain residents (a courteous note left after they designated the spots said otherwise). The finally gave me my move in date weeks before classes started (there was a lot of hassling to try to get my room unfurnished for the lower rent to no avail) then when I finally arrive my room is totally bare and Im paying for furniture. When our washer started shaking violently to the point that the drum was always scraping against the bottom and making a terrible noise management poured a bucket of water in it and said it was fixed. Persistent calls and notes havent done a thing.I think thats it.

This place was much better when it was the Savannahs. I do not recommend living here as the staff seems to be avoidant of very serious tenant concerns and absolutely dismissive of tenants wanting to leave due to safety issues around the area, which brings me to my next point. This area although very close to campus is not safe!!! There were two break ins at one of their complexes just recently, and it doesnt seem like they really care to make their tenants feel any more secure. They marked up the rental price with nothing to show for it, as well. Take that as you will, but I dont really encourage living here.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! THIS PLACE IS SHADY AS HELL. DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THEY SAY. THEY ARE DEFINITELY HIDING THINGS FROM RESIDENTS AND ITS SCARY. THEY DO NOT COMMUNICATE WITH RESIDENTS AT ALL. PLEASE SIGN SOMEWHERE ELSE.I have been living at the Savannahs, now Indigo Row, for almost two years. The newest management is by far the WORST. The staff are some of the rudest and most inconsiderate people I have ever met. They sold about 20 parking spots to the complex across the street because that complex did not build enough spaces. That sounds like a problem for their complex, not us.Our water bill had SKYROCKETED for 6 months. My roommate discovered a leaking spigot on the side of our house. We went to the office to let them know. Two days later, it was still leaking. We went down there again and we were informed it was fixed already, a blatant lie as we could see the water still dripping. The person in the office, I think a manager, continued to insist that constant dripping water would not effect our bill. I have a hard time believing that. Eventually, my roommate went out there with tools and tightened it as best she could. We have now learned the skyrocket in price may have been due to a leaking pipe under the complex. We are currently investigating and calling the water company. The water was shut off in our apartment TWICE with no notice. This was the city of Tallahassee, but we received no notice once the office was notified of the water being shut off.Office hours are CONSTANTLY inconsistent. Several times I have gone down to the office to pick up a package and they have told me, you dont have one. Then, I would ask them to double check, and wouldnt you know it, I had one.About 3 weeks ago, I was told if I emailed the office giving my roommate permission to get my packages, she would be able to. She had picked up about 2-3 no problem, then all of a sudden it became and issue and Id need to email them with permission every time I got a package. WHY ARENT THEY EVER CONSISTENT IN WHAT THEY SAY.On 3-4 separate occasions men have been on our roof for construction, with a clear view into our bedrooms. We were not notified of this at all by management. On more than one of these occasions, my roommate or I were changing when we noticed the men in our windows. We live on the 2nd floor.I went to open my mailbox and my key would not turn. I called the office and they informed me they changed the locks. Well why werent we notified at all?? My work checks get put into that mailbox, so I dont feel comfortable with them being changed with no warning.Currently, the rent is going up due to renovations. I will not be resigning because of the attitude issue in the front office and their overall shadiness. This was one of the last complexes in walking distance of campus that was affordable for the middle class budget, well not anymore. I love my little apartment and really wish I could stay, but it is no longer worth the money and I do not think I could deal with the condescending staff and lack of notices any longer.

After living here for the past three years I would not recommend living here to anyone, for a number of reasons. When I first moved in, the rates were a modest $350 a month before utilities and this has been the sole reason for me staying, as I have been able to keep this rate by renewing my lease. Since then the prices for 3-2 and 2-2 have been raised, unnecessarily in my opinion seeing as nothing about the apartments has been improved. While the close proximity to the FSU campus is a plus, there are a number of apartments in the area, some even closer, that offer better prices and better quality. In fact, the neighborhood is one of the worst things about Savannahs, which is sandwiched between campus and French Town. In my time at Savannahs, a person has been shot a block north of my apartment and my neighbor was mugged at gunpoint right outside the white fence surrounding the apartments. It is important to note that this fence has almost no purpose, as there are no gates, it’s broken in a few places, and vagrants will often cut through the complex. While it may seem insensitive, it is nonetheless unnerving to be approached by homeless people right outside your door late at night. Even walking straight to campus is not safe at night as you have to pass through the Degraff tunnel where, as I know thanks to the FSU alert system that notifies students of all reported crimes on campus, many people have been mugged. In short, it is not a safe place to live.During my residence here, the management has been switched to Asset Campus Housing but not much has changed as far as how they deal with issues around the complex. I lived in an apartment on Pope st, and since the ‘face’ of Savannahs is on W Carolina, my apartment area has been generally neglected. In three years, the W Carolina parking lot has been repaved twice while there have been many potholes in the Pope st parking lot, which the management neglected to repair until recently despite complaints given nearly two years ago from me and many other residents. The W Carolina apartments have been nicely landscaped over the years while the other apartments have weeds filling the grassy areas and ugly bushes in front of our houses. This sort of thing just goes on and on, and it’s clear that Savannahs cares more about attracting new residents than maintaining quality for all current residents.Last fall, they allowed a sublease into my unit who had been arrested five times for repeated trespassing and drug offences, as a quick google search proved. This sublet moved in with his girlfriend (these are single leases), broke many other rules on the lease, and allowed a friend to sell drugs from our front door, and after numerous complaints the process of getting him evicted took well over two months. When my other roommate and I returned from last winter break, we found that our apartment had been flooded by a busted water heater, an issue that wouldn’t have arisen had they simply done walk-in inspections, a common practice with the last management team. The adjacent rooms’ carpets were ruined with mold and while the maintenance worker was sent promptly to mop up some of the mess, it took the office a whole week before they sent a water and steam vacuum cleaner, which was useless because the rooms were still unlivable. Eventually after a month of complaints, they replaced the carpets.Even their advertised pool is pointless; it’s five feet deep at its deepest, it’s stuck between two-story apartments so it’s in the shade for most of the day, and it’s poorly maintained. In the end, I regret living here for as long as I did and my condolences go out to whomever is duped into thinking Savannahs is a decent, safe place to live.
