I made appointment for tesla flat tire. Website was listed Tesla while making appointment. And when i reach there it was told they cant do tesla as they dont have pads needed to lift car. extremely rude staff not even willing to fill air in tire. No wonder they are closing down shops as they are not up to date with latest cars and technology.. This store is also about to go down same road. good luck
Got my car in and fixed in one day! Radiator replaced and thermostat. Loved the quick turn around but labor was pricey. 1300.00! Did not include upper and lower hoses either! Great service high price.
Just moved back to the Bay Area from outta state. Got my Ca plates for my car. Didn’t have tools( on the moving truck) stopped in to see if they could help a girl out. Kenny and Jessie took care of me. So friendly. I actually enjoyed myTime there. Thanks guys!!! Grateful to you both.
I am from Mississippi visiting my daughter about 1/2 a mile from this location. I has to get my transmission serviced and everyone around either couldnt do it or wanted to charge me over $350.00. Pep Boys serviced my 20 year old suburban and quoted me $209.00. While doing the service they had to order a fitting for my suburban to get the transmission filter to fit and they did not charge me for it... even though I would have expected the charge, which was only $10.00. I give Pep Boys five stars for friendly, knowledgeable, and trustworthy service!!
Zero stars. Negative stars. Go to any other available oil change or mechanic - any - before this. An oil change and freon recharge took nearly 5 hours. It was over 4 hours before the first update (which itself was 1.5 hours after the estimates return of the vehicle) or information was received. Save yourself the frustration and go anywhere else.
Expensive compared to Costco tires. Also, I came with a flat tire and they did not want to fix it and wouldnt inflate it for me to get home safely
Great Staff,Kenny and team helped me out a lot in a time of need and very quick to help, definitely coming back here for all my needs.
Changed oil here once.Didnt spend much time: it took almost an hour, there was no one in front of me. I scheduled an appointment online and it saved up to 25% in total compared to the original invoice.-1 star due to suggested power steering fluid replacement. The mechanic told me it costs $55 and takes about 5 mins. Guys, proper liquid change takes more than 30 minutes.
Apparently they stopped stocking the retail side of the store, kinda useless for me to come here now. No batteries, no oil, no tools, no parts, nothing, zero. Not sure if theres a difference on the service side of things or not but I guess this is the last time Ill ever come here. Unfortunate, liked shopping here.
This review is during the pandemic. So when the future see this review. They will know that Pep Boys Auto is here and open to keep us supplied with parts for our vehicles. The store was clean and CDC guidelines were and seem to be followed.I search their website to have the info needed and to see that they had the items I needed in stock. Once in the store.. The lady that checked me out was very helpful locating one of the items that I couldnt find.Good friendly experience that day.
Service only. Retail store no longer exists. The only local store that stocked my motor oil. Noway Im driving out of my way to another Pep Boys just for oil. Onto other sources.
It was AWESOME. They are having 40% off on everything in the store. Pep boys sold the store and they are liquidating what they can before the new owner takes over.
Bought a snow chain here but it doesn’t fit the car, but the store has a no refund/ exchange policy for snow chains. Asked them to try the chain on before I purchased it to make sure it fits, but they rejected and said it 100% will fit. Turns out it doesn’t fit and now I’m out the money and an useless snow chain that doesn’t fit my car. Funny thing is the sales rep took all the information I gave (tire brand, size, vehicle brand) and still gave me the wrong snow chains. If you wanna get snow chains, go elsewhere, because this store just gives you random chains that doesn’t fit and lie to you that it will fit. At the end you’ll end up with a chain that is not the right model and they’ll say it’s their store policy for not being able to accept an exchange/ return.
I think your experience varies a lot depending on if you are shopping or getting service done. I was there as a shopper picking up new wiper blades. The store was neat and although I wasnt able to find anyone on the sales floor to answer questions, the cashier was knowledgeable and happy to answer my question at the register. They also offer free installation of wiper blades, which I opted into. The installation itself only took about 3 minutes, but I had to wait at the service counter for about 10 minutes before they were able to assist me. Despite that, everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. Overall, not a bad experience at all as a shopper. For car service, I would definitely plan to go elsewhere.
Update: bumping to 3 star. The experience was ok but not as good as Costco and other tire shops in the area. I probably wouldn’t come again. My appointment for tire replacement (4) was at 10. Service was finished at 11:52. Still pretty slow for this kind of service as I already made appointment ahead. The technican didn’t start working on my vehicle until 11:20, so it only took 30mins to finish but I was waiting for almost 2 hrs. I didn’t find any issues so far quality seems good.Original review:I am just waiting in the lobby at the time of writing this review. My appointment for tire replacement at 10 and it is 11:15 now, my vehicle is still parking in their garage, no one is working on it. ETA is 12, let’s see. I might change review later on but so far it is just horrible.
Too bad they are closing the store. They had what I needed and it was an awesome price at 70% off.
Just had my breaks done a bit pricey for a 07and only the rear breaks was done other than the price service was friendly and quick. My car is stopping on some and get 9 cents change.... 😂
Store seema to only sell tires? No auto parts anymore. I asked and the auto parts store is closed
Bad experience overall.1) I scheduled an appointment for 8a through the website. When I got there at 8:00 I was told they open at 8:30, and that the site is wrong. 30 minutes wasted at their parking lot.2) The tire inspection was a joke: they did not check why one specific tire loses pressure (I asked, they said they didnt check), strongly suggested to change all 4 tires (coincidentally they have a promotion right now!) and did not even check the tire pressure before returning the vehicle.3) The oil change was OK, I guess, but with the rest of the experience I even have doubts. Oh, they really-really pushed for a certain type of oil, too obvious they may have sales goals and i am a target (vs a customer)
Excellent service. Came in to replace my car battery warning and John and team helped to diagnose everything super quick and suggested to replace the battery. Cannot ask for a better treatment.Prices are reasonable as well
Came in on a weekday for an oil change. Was in and out within 45 mins. Great service and the sales associate scanned a coupon for me and saved me 30% 👍🏼.
Great staff and great car service like oil change.
If you have a lot of things to be done there’s no place to wait. Although they have a room where they can practice social distancing during this pandemic they don’t utilize it. I had to go to another business to wait . My service was good but they should have a safe place to wait while you have your car worked on. I found out that these restrictions were mandated by the city of Sunnyvale. They should not reflect on the business themselves. They went from three stars to five stars.
Cant trust them, they think about how to make money and not how to help customers.i went there to fix an air leak, the guy was very welcoming and friendly, however the manager of the store (Kenny) step in the middle and tried to sell me new tiers, saying mine are old, when i refused he didnt agree to fix my air leak saying it is a safety issue. At that point i stepped out and went to 2-3 other places to understand if it is a safety issue, all the three said i can drive few more month with the tiers and were willing to fix it. i fixed it elsewhere for $10, half price than what Pep Boys auto parts proposed.I will never come back again here - when manager of the store is not reliable
Installed two new tires at Pep Boys. When I picked up the vehicle after the installation is done, I asked the guy at the reception if all the 4 tires have been checked to have the same tire pressure. He said YES. Then I drove the vehicle around the parking lot and checked the meter in the vehicle and found out the two front tires have 41psi and two back tires have 33psi. The recommendation from the vehicle manufacturer is 33psi, which means the two newly installed front tires have the wrong tire pressure. Then I walked into the reception again and asked the guy if the tire pressure is properly applied. He told me to drive on the normal road (instead of parking lot) to check the tire pressure. After I drove 5 miles back home and it turned out that they applied wrong tire pressure at the newly installed tires. To me, this is very unprofessional and Im very unhappy with what they have done.
This place was the only one open in the neighborhood on 4th of July, so I went to fix the flat tire there. All was well, until the fixed tire started leaking a bit after 3 days. I thought that’s okay but the next day it deflated completely. I’ll spend more time next occasion and will connect to the real professionals, not these guys.
Nice people and service
It is almost perfect. John Hangeldi is wonderful person. It is a privilege to have a staff like him. But a guy working in changing place do not seem good. He is talking too bossy
Service Techs are Amazing! They went above and beyond to take care of me
Excellent experience! Great service!!!
They have poor service and they will offer you all services online while they decline to service when you are in store stating that they don’t have necessary equipment to service the car. They also state different charges online, on phone and in person when you reach there for service. I would not recommend this service center to anyone.
Great location. This location has parts that the Story and Capitol expressway does not have. Call then first to confirm
This story happened to me at 7pm tonight...I was in the store to ask about the flat tire repair service, but theyre fully booked. And then...A Mexican guy popped out for no reason, which is a pep boys employee. He asked me to park several blocks away from pep boys, so his boss or coworker whatever wont see him doing this, seems like he is not supposed to do this side servers after work 😂.Not a great experience. Anyway my tier got temporarily rough fixed, which cost $45 in CASH 😂.I gotta say that Ive never seen a tire can be fixed like this, 😂. Ill have to go to the dealership tmr to check again.
I had a terrible experience with routine wheel alignment on my vehicle. I experienced technical mishandling as well as disorganized and unpleasant customer engagement. The customer service could be hampered due to the covid situation. The poor review is mainly due to them leaving my car underiveable.Day 1- The vehicle is running fine and I turn it in for oil change and wheel alignment with an appointment. Everything goes as expected and I get my car in due time the same day.Day 2 - I notice that the steering is not centered properly. I go back to the store but am asked to take an appointment for Day 4. I do as asked.Day 4 - I came to the store at the time of appointment but was told to come back the next morning because staff was short.Day 5 - I turn in my car early in the morning and am advised to go back home as the consultant said it might take a while before they will be able to take a look. I kept waiting for their call all day. All attempts from my side to contact them failed. I finally went to the store just before 6PM only to be told that they hadnt even looked at the car. I wonder when they were going to tell me that they needed to keep it overnight.Day 6- I waited till midday for a call but there was no communication. However, this time I was able to reach them when I tried. I was told the car was ready. When I drove the car, the alignment was completely broken. Traction control was kicking in every 30s on a straight road. Steering was off centre to the other side. Its Day 9 today and I have had a mechanic at the dealership service struggling for the past 4 hours in aligning to spec. He is bewildered and cant imagine what was done to make it so bad. They are going to have to keep it overnight and I am only hoping that my car returns to normal.I did not go back to Pep Boys as I dont want them to see my vehicle again. This was the first time I went there and how I am regretting it.Money and time down the drain. Now, I am only hoping my car goes back to normal.
Drop a car for oil change.10 min later I got a call ask if they can replace windshield wiper since it old. Ok I guest it time to change so I accept.10 min later I got a call to let me know that they cannot change oil because drain plug worn out. How they can worn out, because the previous guys put it in so hard. Who was previous guy. Pep Boys.If they wont hungry for money and do what was told first I may be able to go to another location. And no they never tell me how much the wiper cost until I receive the bill (by email). What a waste of time and money. So in the end, go for oil change. Got new windshield wiper. Wt...
This Pep Boys is closing its retail store and becoming a tire and service store. Now 70% off remaining inventory.
Horrible wait time!!!! Went for an oil change with an online appointment and waited 5 hours for things to be done which is only oil and filter change. The guy who handled the auto register told 2 hours previously but they lied. Doesnt look busy since i went around 10 in the morning. Will never come back never.
Bought a rear windshield wiper for a Honda Odyssey after they helped me determine which was the correct one. It was on sale. They installed it in a couple of minutes . Cant ask for much more than that.
Best auto shop ever.
I recently purchased my vehicle through Carvana and I was told that Pep Boys is my service care provider. I scheduled on Monday for the upcoming Thursday. I left early from work to make my apt at 2:pm. When I arrived Steve said, how can I help you. I said, Carvana said to bring my car here for service, he replied, sorry we are booked I said, I have an apt at 2:pm, he said, sorry we dont have enough technicians, one of our guys called in. I said, thats not my fault I had an apt for today, I left work early to come here. I want my car to be seen today. He just kept saying, sorry we cant do it today. Steve, never showed any compassion or that he cared. He said, I called everyone to let them know we couldnt see them. I said, you didnt call me? He, asked for my phone number and I gave it to him 4 times. He says, your not in the system, as if I were making it all up?... Really?.... He said come in tomorrow at 1pm. I said, that wont work. I cant miss another day of work. Are you open Saturday? He said, bring it at 8:30am and leave it here we will look at it. I will be going, but I will not leave it. Im going to sit there so that they dont take their time.I was very angry and upset at the lack of care for my situation. Why would he care I wasnt getting paid for my wasted time, or their inability to keep their scheduled appointments!!!Front desk person by the name of STEVE is very unprofessional!
Terrible place. I came because my brakes have noise. spent 5 hours waiting for them. What would they tell me that everything is fine. I try to explain what is not fine and I can show what is the matter. In the end, they said go to the dealership. Thats what I did. He killed time with them and didn’t do anything.
2 stars for being professional, However they change prices from phone quote by hundreds! So when calling get there name and when you show up in person cross your fingers because the first thing the cashier told me was that’s a different person who gave you the phone quote. I will not go there anymore.
In and Out!Good recommendation on wiper blades, on sale and they installed free in 2 minutes.Tip... they said to wipe your blades a few times a year so they last longer and the dirt doesnt scratch your windshield.Thank you Pep Boys Sunnyvale!!
Terrible organization of work.1. On their website, you can make an appointment with a choice of time from the suggested one. I set the first available at 8am. I arrived and found that they open at 8:30.2. The work took 1:30 hours instead of the announced 1 hour. In total, I spent 2 hours there from 8 to 10. And I was late for my next appointment.3. They indicated in check of the work performed, including rotation of the tires. This was not done (I have marks on the tires). On my question on the phone (I found this already at home) why they did not rotate although they indicated it - they answered that they had looked at it and decided that I did not need it. What then did they do for 90 minutes if just changing the oil takes about 30 minutes. (by the way, all this time my car was alone in the box)
Worst store in bay area. Very unprofessional. We were there by appointment. Still took 2.5 hours for regular oil changed. When asked they were like it has not yet started, do you want the vehicle to be drove out or start the oil change. It took 15 mins to change oil later. The front desk guy was someone Edgardo. Very unprofessional. Will never go to this store again.
First time in that shop, nice to see a car parts shop, that is clean and tidy. Got a good price roof rack.
Pep Boys offers competitive prices for their services and products and they are well-stocked. The service manager is particularly helpful and pleasant. I think theres an occasional staffing shortage and I had trouble connecting with them on the phone, but I think this is short-term problem owing to, perhaps, the holidays or employee illnesses. Parking is easy and safe, and Ive never had a problem with any services or products from this particular Pep Boys location. I will be a return customer in the future.
I got a flat in my tire which Id gotten at Americas tire; they were closed, so I went to Pep Boys. Suspecting the tire was un-repairable I pre-selected a tire to purchase and found the cheapest price online. They looked at my tire, confirmed it needed to be replaced, then quoted me a price on the tire lower than any Id found online, no hassle. Its one of the few places Ive gotten charged less than I expected, and they did the job quickly as well. The associate was kind and helpful as well.
Friendly service. Great prices if you order ahead online.
Very professional and knowledgeable crew. They didnt hesitate to answer my concerns, and they set expectations and timeline of the whole process. Thank you for the great service
Very bad, rude and insulting service. Prepare to wait for 2 to 3 hours minimum with out any proper reason or any call back even you have an appointment. When i went to counter to ask about my car, he entered my car vin no wrong in the system and said that my car wasn’t on the system so he don’t hand over the keys and made me again to wait until I told him to check with Vin number, then he corrected it.
Nice customer service I didnt have enough money and he gave me a senior discount I forgot to ask about
This is the worst service ever after purchasing a battery that started giving me issues. I returned it and found out I was sold the wrong battery and unable to exchange and the guy that sold it to me had quit. So I am stuck purchasing a new battery and not being able to get credit for a battery that they incorrectly sold me. This is the worst service ever.
Mr. Sam and the other gent Joseph or Jose? ..i forget at checkout were extremely helpful. These guys were also very friendly and had a good sense of humor. Awesome customer service. The owner should give these gents a merit raise. I will be coming back again.
This is like the radio shack but for cars some of you are to young to know. But yes this place know there stuff.
Update: I got my keys to get my car so it didn’t sit in the lot. They left the trunk unlocked and ajar. DON’T TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR CAR!!!The service started off okay, very friendly. Clearly a bit tired but that’s retail. I had all my information ready for them to make it easy And wheel lock lug-nut set aside. The service took longer than expected but I planned to drop by before closing to be easy-going anyways. They never did call to indicate my tires had been completed. Turns out the hours online are wrong for this place. It closes at 2000, not 2100. No one seems to care about this. I got there as there were half a dozen people still in the store. Employees were only interested in ignoring me and leaving as quickly as possible. Will not return to do business here. Employees don’t care. Management can’t even update proper hours.
This place is aight. Prices, service, etc all average.
Seemed honest and helpful staff. Did not sell me most expensive parts and gave tips to better maintain. Even showed me how to change headlight.Clean and organized store with helpful staff. Not to crowded and park8ng was easy.
I had booked an appointment for 4:30 pm via their website. When I walked in, I was told the appointment doesnt show up in their system. I called customer service and told I have an email confirmation and the consultant is saying he cant help, they put me on hold and called the store. They told me the consultant agreed to do it after the three cars and even if needed, he will get it done in overtime. I was asked to get in and hand over the keys. I went in and was made to wait more than 10 minutes and it was 5:05 pm. He came and asked me whats up. I told I was asked to give the car for service by customer service. He told he didnt tell them that and he said it wasnt possible. He told me to call customer service and hand over the phone. He knew that the 10 minutes delay he cause by walking out and coming back the customer service closes at 5 pm Pacific. When I called, I realized the customer service was already closed. Its a waste of 45 minutes of my time and rude sarcastic treatment by the consultant. Im planning to send this as a mail to customer service and escalate. Dont waste your time here. They treat every customer engagement as a battle and get satisfied by turning the customers back this way wasting their time. All it needed was a call after the appointment confirmation that it happened by mistake and I wouldve rescheduled my appointment and not have wasted one hour of my time including my ride to and from the store.
I my flat tires fixed here, they are really efficiently and helpful! I got my car back same day! Excellent service. Reasonable price! Thanks you guys
People were very nice. However what was supposed to take 80 minutes took more than 140 minutes and i was not updated ( as was told to me) at the 80 minute mark to inform me that my car was ready or that more time would be needed. i had to follow up on my own to understand the current status. It very well could have been longer. Again, very nice and polite people but even with an appointment, it seemed like they were understaffed for the customer traffic.
Horrible customer service! I made an appointment online for Wed, 10am. Selected the option that tells them to call me back as I wanted to discuss what exactly had to be fixed on my car. Nobody called. Finally, I called and discussed and got a quote. Then few days later, I had to reschedule it to Thursday 10:30am. Used their online chat system to handle that and I was assured its been rescheduled. Guess what? Never got a confirmation email. Moreover, I get a phone call the day before Wednesday saying Oh, we cannot accommodate you tomorrow. I explained the whole thing again and they were like...10:30am on Thursday wont work...please come at noon. I was also assured it will take maximum 1 hour 20 minutes to fix my car. So I go there today, at 12:03pm to be exact. I had to wait 10 minutes before anyone attended me. This guy (forgot to ask his name) takes my information (I refused to give my home address, why do they need that?!!#!) and checks out my car. We go back in and he tells me the car will be ready at 5pm! I had showed up with my food and laptop to work from them for an hour or so they promised me earlier. No way I could stay out of office till 5pm. So I asked to reschedule and he tells me that the estimate would still be 3-4 hours. When you dont offer pick-up/drop off or rental car service, you just expect people to wait 3-4 hours??? I said I am going to have find another place to get this done. He said sure. He absolutely didnt care about losing a customer. I simply walked out and have no intention of ever going back in.
You would think that because its a chain they would have no motive to scam you. But the employees are paid only if theres work. So in our experience there they lied about several things. They charged us for work that they havent done at all. Such as simple routine tire rotation. We marked the tires before hand and when we picked it up we noticed the mark in the same spot. Management is aware of this, and were not surprised. Please go somewhere else.
Ordered online. Got the stuff and easy out.
Service department is repeatedly incompetent (multiple bad experiences).Edit to provide more info: I set up an appointment, but the service manager was at lunch. Not the first time an appointment was not honored. Also, they insist on putting the wrong oil in my car because of bad data in their database (PepBoys computer says it should take 5W20 while owners manual says 5W30). On an earlier visit to buy new tires, one was installed incorrectly and had to be re-done.Amusingly, I filled out a survey they sent, and in return they gave a coupon for $10 off a $50 purchase... that expired in 3 days!Normally I dont post negative reviews for fear of retaliation, but obviously I wont be going back to this place.
Tried Too Order a Performance Part Employee Hung up 4 Times!!! Terrible Customer Service👎
Absolutely the worst! Dont waste your time here. I had an appointment for 8:30 am and no one even opened the shop till 9:00. Even after they opened the shop no one came to the counter till 9:15. It took over 2 hours to change a single tire, and I didnt leave the store till after 11:00 am. Just go to firestone down the street. They have done much better for me than this joke of a auto shop. I just wish there was a 0 star option for rating this place.
Dave from the San Carlos store who was working the service center counter made my (what turned out to be two and a half hour) tire service appointment a pleasure. He is a very considerate and friendly associate and has unknowingly shifted what should be my upset attitude and bad review to a place whereas I feel like a satisfied customer. Plus it always helps if the price is right for my merchandise... Yes indeed, 5 stars....
Edit: More updates posted and decreased the rating to 1 star. The most unprofessional service I have ever received in my life. Everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong. Heres a little summary.- I ordered new tires from Amazon and had them shipped to Pepboys Sunnyvale to be mounted- I arrived on time for the appointment, was told I would need to wait about 90 minutes. The job wasnt even started after I came back to check on the work about 2 hours later. The job was completed 3 hours after my appointment time in the end.- When the first tire was getting installed, I noticed the tire was the wrong way around on the rim. They had mounted all the tires the wrong way. They had to take the tires off the rims again and put them correctly- When they finished with the tires, they came to tell me they broke one of the tire pressure sensors- I came back 3 days later when they had the new sensor to have that installed. I was told it takes 30 minutes, but it took 1 hour. Again the car was just sitting there with nobody touching it for about 40 minutes, even though the manager said they would start to work on it immediately- When I was about to leave I noticed all the dust caps were missing. I went back to get them- The tire pressure sensors were not reading. I was told to drive a couple of miles and they would pick up the signal. They never did as they had not been set properly.- Found out a week later far away from Sunnyvale that one tires was leaking as the valve core had been broken. Had to have this replaced together with the whole stem and at the same time fix the sensor issue. This cost me $97. Trying to get Pepboys to refund this but so far no luck, very unresponsive customer service.- Now 3 weeks later one of the tires is losing pressure at the rate of 3-4 PSI per day. I need to get this fixed again in some other shop that knows what they are doing. Lets see what the cost will be.
Tire service only
Very bad to know that I gave for oil service with tire rotation around 6 months back. I came to know recently that they charged me for tire rotation in my last service at this place but didnt rotate tires. Now I am seriously doubting that they have done the oil service properly.
Stay away from the store if you dont want to be treated like a theif without a reason. I walked into the store to get a tool for my scooter. While browsing the shelfs and comparing products, a male staff with a beard approached to me and said, You shouldnt use the tools without paying it. I dont know where he got that idea that I would conduct such a misbehavior but I do know that it made me feel disgusted by his ill manner. Walked out right away and started to warn people not to visit this place ever since.
I visited pep boys to replace low beam headlight. They were busy. So Bernanrd taught me how to replace it by myself. He saved both my time and money. Thanks for your help, it was quick and easy.
The sales person with a beard does not even know how to talk to customers with basic courtesy. Was very rude and behaved like he was doing some free service to me when asked questions about a product
Booked online for an oil change, booking system double booked me. Notified me of cancelation via email 15 minutes before appointment, while arriving. Next appointment is 4 days later. Oil change is only synthetic for high miles, $100. Previously, went there with appointment to replace battery, took 4 hours because they were short handed. I havent done real work there, but its an interesting business model. I went next door to me to get an oil change, $40 done in 30 minutes. So if you want to leave your car for the day, probably not a bad place to go.
A Larger Pepboys. .....products are well displayed and prices are well marked. A little slow on checking out. For what this store has to offer this is the Pepboys I go to.
I dont think Ive been to Pep Boys in over 40 years. Found what I wanted.
No stars, service was awful. The guy was the most unhelpful person I have ever meet.I would rather drive 40miles to a different parts department.Than give them my money.Went to O Reily on El Camino. Super helpful nice, kind and very helpful. If I could give no stars I would.
EXCELLENCE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. I live over 40 miles away and Ill gladly make the trip just for the great staff. Good selection of after market and OEM parts and plenty of tires. 10/10 would go again
I enjoy Pep Boys more than their competitors because of the size and selections. That being said; I take way too long of a time trying to figure out what I want. Its like a kid in a candy shop. I look for one detailing brush, but end up with microfiber towels, wax, detailing spray, razor blades for scraping bugs off windshields, and so much more. I should leave.
Do not answer on phone calls
Bad staff who couldnt be bothered to help. Even calling them you get the feeling they cant wait for you to hangup.
I ordered tires from pepboys online and scheduled an appointment to have them installed. The site said they would be in stock at my local store. When I arrived to the store, there was no one at the service desk. When I asked asked one of the techs, they said the person is out and they dont know when they would be back. So I waited for over 20 minutes, meanwhile others were coming to the desk confused and I had to tell them the situation. Not only that, but the phone was ringing from the minute I arrived to the minute I left the store.Once the service desk employee finally came back, they told me my appointment was cancelled and I would have to schedule another one. Not only that, but the tires I ordered were out of stock. I asked if they could have more sent to the store and they refused. The only option I was given was to drive 20 minutes to another store and buy from them IF they had them in stock. This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I value my time, and it appears that Pep Boys doesnt. The last thing I asked before I left was if there was anyone in the store that could help me. The answer I was given: No.
I wish theres a 0 start option. I had a very unpleasant experience at Sunnyvale Pep Boys today. Got a flat tire and it was close so we drove there. Was told we need full 4 tires replaced (its a new car and we drove it for a year) because its a 4 wheel drive. Got another quote where they can replace 2 tires instead of all 4. I understand they have rules and being pricy might not be their fault BUT:1. The staff were unfriendly. There was one guy in the tire section and when hes mostly MIA, we asked the checkout counter and women there told us go back and wait - in a pretty rude way. The guys in the tire center acted like the only person in the whole world who knows how to replace a tire.2. The wait was really longI understand this is an autoshop and Im not getting a Starbucks or HaiDiLao kinda service but people, go to Costco or Richs; search on google and go somewhere with a better review. DO NOT EVER waste your time here.
Went in to this store to look for tire options, I first noticed the store had no employees walking around. Just a couple of people at the front thats it. After waiting for 15 mins, Bernando rudely told me that they would not be able to put my tires on my wheel without scratching them. If thats the case I will take my business elsewhere. Take your car to the professionals not to this shop of racer boys.
Stay far away from this place. I went here because I had good experiences with Pep Boys on the East Coast and mistakenly thought this location would operate with the same level of competency and professionalism. It took them nearly 8 hours to fix up my car despite repeated assurances that it would be ready by early to mid afternoon, and they misplaced my key and forgot to alert me when the car was completed. Not a single specialist I interacted with could use a computer to save their lives, spending >10 minutes typing out a single form. Id rate 0 stars if I could. Save your time and money, and go somewhere else.
You are WARNED. This is a horrible place. I was 1/2 hour early. They had a totally inept guy who only saw me, casually, unapologetically said it would take 2 hours for a simple battery change. The store manager also, equally unapologetically, said the service manager is on vacation. How this place stays in business is a miracle, not of the good variety. The 1 star is only to post the review.
I am getting car serviced with these guys since long, but now the staff is very rude and if you have an appointment also they treat you like you are comming on a adhoc basis. There was no one to take care of customers in service department, I have a appoitment for 9 am, and waited till 9:25 am when someone showed up. Very rude staff.
Bernardo, and the team at the Sunnyvale location are awesome! Getting the 60k mile service and tires too! Great deals, great prices, great people!
Despite being able to book through the Pep Boys website, we were rudely informed when we got to the store ahead of our appointment that the online system “doesn’t work” and they expected us to call ahead. Not worth the wasted time, and they clearly don’t value their customers.
Terrible place!! They don’t want to work. They asked to drop my BMW off there overnight even after i gave it to them in the first hour of the day. Next day, The service guy called up and told that the oil plug is rusted and they can’t open. I took it to another store and they did oil change and fixed in 30 min.
Staff is helpful and they have good collection but they will never never never help you with little things i.e fixing or asking their guys to help you with stuff you just bought in store. All the just do is to sell stuff and marry be oil change or so, but small things like helping with screws or may be a 2 minute help from their crew or mechanics is impossible. May you guys get some kind heart and help people with little things.
IF YOU DONT WANT TO READ THE REST BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THEYRE SLOW AND HAVE POOR COMMUNICATION SKILLSIm unhappy with the service which this Pep Boys provided. I gave two stars because at least their wifi works, since Im sitting here in their lobby waiting for a while now (its coming up on 6PM now). Today I came in at 12 because my car was leaking coolant, got the results of the diagnosis at 2(2 radiator hoses need to be changed) and was told it would take an hour, maybe a little more. Well, we all know how good THOSE estimates usually are so I went on a walk along El Camino for an hour and a half and came back. I had to inquire about the car to find out that they were trying to find the right hose. I really wish that they could have notified me as soon as they had figured that out. Anyway, judging from the other reviews on here, I think that a lot of people are experiencing the same thing. The employees are nice enough, but if Im paying significant amounts of money for a service then I hope that would be a given.Update: 1 star!!At 6 I went and asked the status of the car, the guy came back(after 10 minutes) and told me it would be another hr - 90 minutes. That ticked me off so I lost my cool and went into the garage to talk with the mechanic, who told me that it would be about 10 minutes for each hose. I guess there was some misunderstanding between the mechanic and the messenger? I dont know. I definitely dont plan on coming here ever again.
Cashier had a bad attitude. Looks like hes Races
I waited for more than 3 hours for oil change. They are not organized and not trustworthy.I made an appointment at 1 oclock for oil change. When arrived a few minutes earlier, I was told the technician went to lunch. I had to wait for an extra hour for his lunch and a half hour to get oil changed. They agreed for me to come back in an hour and put my car the first to work on. Came back at 2, I was told the technician is working on another car, 25 minutes later will work on my car. There is nobody working on my car till 3:15. Finally I got my car out at 4:10.Incredible.
Rude stuff and organized shelves.
Generic automobile store with a great variety of products and services. Amicable staff. Repairs shop works at a good pace and with good prices.
I bought 2 tires on Amazon and they sent them here. I got them installed today with no problem Ill go back in the future.
