They did an excellent job on my jeep despite being really busy. Manager kept me informed. My jeep got its pep back. Its an older 1998 Jeep Cherokee. I could see the mechanic, working really fast.So I give a good review because they did a great job. I think compared to some small shops Ive been to around State College, these guys put the rest to shame. My jeep sounds and runs like it did years ago.Like I said, they were really busy. At least 4 vehicles getting fixed at once, 3 more customers coming in, answering calls, and did It great. Thanks

I’m a younger woman and I know very little about cars so getting work done or even getting a simple oil change makes me somewhat nervous. I know that I could get ripped off or taken advantage of, and that happened to me at a few other places in the area before I started coming here. All the guys at Firestone are extremely friendly and nice. They always take the time to explain things to me when I bring my car in, even when they’re clearly very busy, and they always let me know of other things that I might want to keep an eye on before I leave. They also don’t try to talk me into getting additional work done if I don’t really need it, which I appreciate because I’m a bit shy and struggle to decline. I often call my uncle, who owns a car shop in my hometown, to see if a price is reasonable, and this is the first place I’ve found in State College where he always thinks the prices are fine. This is the only review I’ve ever written on anything, but I think these guys are the best and deserve a good review. 10/10. I appreciate their service and kindness.

The office manager and mechanics here were very helpful and provided quick service on my rental car when I really needed it. It was 2:00 pm on a Saturday when I had an issue with a tire on my rental car while travelling halfway across the country. They were very busy but still fit me in so that I could get back on the road quickly to continue my long trip. Thanks again Noah (the mechanic) for delaying your lunch break to replace my tire so I could get back on the road safely right away. If I lived closer to here I would bring my vehicles here for repairs because of their great service!

Ryan and his service team hooked it up on New Years day for me, replacing a screwed up tire before a long road trip (literally a screw in it). They quickly assessed the issue and communicated my options with expert explanation. Ryan provided additional advice, per my request, on the pros/cons of fix-a-flat, highlighting the dangers to the tire of using the aerosol, while the slime isnt as bad. My experience was topped off with air in my never-before-used spare, which was down to 9 psi. Thanks guys!

Last week I had an transmission issue with my Jeep Patriot and needed to be look at as soon as possible. The team there checked on it and even though there wasnt much they could do for the transmission, they checked on what the cause may have been and made suggestions as to where I may have it fixed. They were awesome when I needed to have the car remain there until I could the Jeep towed away and were always pleasant & very accommodating. Short story shorter: They are NOT smart and say one thing and do the other.Long story short:If you have appointment scheduled 3 days before at 12 o’clock they will take it in at 1 pm if you are lucky.Full story: I needed to get inspection, I signed up 3 days in advance for it. On a day of the appointment I show 5 min before set time and get “you going to have to wait an hour before we take it in”.After talking to manager I get a lovely answer that they have 2 people working at all cars and when they will finish working them they will get to me. After talking more they said that if car comes in with 3 hours of work 30 min before my appointment they would wait for me before they would start working on it. Turned out complete opposite.

I never leave reviews. My first first ever! I needed tires and an alignment. Got a good deal on all that, but thats where it ended. It turns out I had a bad drivers side bearing. Had some wobble and some pulling asked that if they noticed anything to cause that to let me know, they did not! So yada yada! Im replacing wheel bearings. BUT I cant get my lug nuts off! OVER TORQUED!!!!!! My impact driver is rated for 250ft/lbs but nothing! Broke my 1/2 breaker and oem lug wrench! Torque spec on the lugs is 140ft/lbs I think. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!INSANE pricing and mediocre service. I recently took in 2 tires to be mounted and balanced was charged $38 dollars per tire to mount them (other shops charge $9.99 a wheel). The reason I got the tires done here was because I also needed an alignment. After being charged $94 for the alignment my car was still pulling to the left. Upon inspection it appeared that they NEVER EVEN TOUCHED the tie rods on the car, so the toe was still set improperly. A second trip fixed that. I also got a yearly inspection ($58 for the inspection and emissions check) and was informed that I needed new brakes in the front, which I was almost certain was wrong. I do all of my work myself and upon looking at the brakes they were not very worn out at all, just had some strange corrosion on the rotors that could have been cleaned off and had new pads put on. Im sure they were trying to get me to pay them to put new brakes on the car for A LOT more money. I was quoted over $600 for the things that my car failed inspection for.***On another note, I was also quoted $37.99 to REPLACE A LICENSE PLATE LIGHT BULB. I bought a bulb for 56 CENTS and installed it in about 2 mins. It didnt even require any tools. ***There are also random charges on the bill such as $11.90 for Shop Supplies which should be included in the labor cost.I feel bad for people that go here and get taken advantage of by not knowing better. Bottom line, if you like honest, good service take your money and your car elsewhere.

The staff seemed friendly enough though pressured me to purchase some things that I didnt need. I declined which was no issue. But now after inspection, I have to get new tires because even through the tread is great, there is a lot of dry rot! My garage says this is a known problem with FIRESTONE TIRES....please people....this is no joke. Do not use FIRESTONE. I could have been in a serious car accident from a blow out.-After taking my car there for years and never being told my exhaust was leaking, all of a sudden I need to have the entire thing replaced since they dont only fix the faulty parts. People have asked me for years if I have a exhaust leak and I said no since it passed inspection. Surprise surprise, once I took it to another garage, my car is nice and quiet with $1300 in savings. Were they not inspecting my car all these years, or did they think as a woman I had no idea of how a car works? Unfortunately for them, I can work on my car and do so all the time. Thanks Monro for gaining a new customer for life. Save yourself the trip and avoid firestone.

I went there to do the safety/ emission test. I contacted several body shops, such as Midas, Sears auto, Grahams Exxon and etc. Most of them are only available in a few days, some ones are very expensive. Some friends told me not to go to Firestone, since its black-hearted, it would ask you to replace the parts of the car, otherwise your car could not pass the test. However I decided to have a try. One reason was I did not want to wait for a few days, the second was the price is lower than others. and last was It was nearest to my home.I made preparation to argue with them if they asked me to replace my cars parts. but to my surprise, they did not ask me to buy anything from them. Everything went on smoothly. My car passed the test without any question.I did not give them a Five-star, because I found some machine oil spots on the hood of my car, they did not clean it up.Except this, I like their service.

I looked at the spec sheet and realized they had aligned absolutely nothing, but the stead ahead was shown to be two degrees off to the left. I started driving and realized it was still misaligned. Called back. Got a ton of attitude and was told “your clearly not gonna be happy so come back in, get your money, and try somewhere else”. If you must go to Firestone for service, I highly recommend that you have (at the very least) a minimal working knowledge of automobiles. I had a Lifetime Service account, and every single time I took my vehicle to Firestone to be serviced, something would invariably need to be replaced. The clincher for me was when I was told that an assembly in the front wheel would need to be replaced and I asked the mechanic to show me and explain the issue. He informed me that It was a potentially serious problem that I would not understand if I wasnt trained in auto maintenance. What could I do? I paid the $300+ bill and promptly canceled my account. I now take my vehicle back to the dealer where it was bought, and have not had an issue since. Maybe Firestone fixed everything that would ever go wrong, but, well, just be very, very careful if you must go to this Firestone service center.....

Ive had the most awful experience that Ive ever had at a car dealer and the shame of it all is that I bought a product that provided a service - free, but I guess when you buy tires and get a FREE rotation that actually means that the tires dont have to be rotated - according to the good book of Firestone.I took my car into the Atherton Street, State College, PA Firestone dealer after purchasing tires there one year ago. I asked for a tire rotation, balance and new windshield wipers. What I received is an $83.00 pair of windshield wipers, which I hope are lined with gold or titanium to warrant the price that I paid for them. Before taking my car to the Firestone dealer, I marked my tires as I usually do, because Im not trusting of most people - especially car dealers/repair shops. NOT to my suprise, the tire that was marked was in the same location after coming out of the Service Center. So what do you think the chances are that the tires were balanced? That is correct - 0. If the tires were balanced, they would need to take them off and then - ideally -rotate them.I would never, ever take my vehicle to any Firestone service center again and have told several individuals of my horrible experience with Firestone. Why do women consistently and constantly get taken advantage of when dealing with cars and service on them? This is such an insult to their intelligence but also a violation of their safety. The reason for balancing and rotating tires is for even wear and tear and also for good gas mileage. I am not an inexperienced person dealing with cars, their parts and service, but this is the 2nd time that I had been at this service center and had gotten ripped off and paid for something that was not done. It wont happen again.People in this area need to know what this dealer/service center does for its community. Its most disturbing.

Absolutely terrible experience here. I had a blowout and went to the state college shop for help, being a student at PSU. I went here mainly to get Bridgestone tires. Initially, they ordered the complete wrong type of tire. So this warranted another trip back to the store. I made them order the correct set of tires and for them to be installed with no additional cost. Then, after another trip and the correct tires were put on, one tire was installed incorrectly and had a leak, so I had to go back again and have them fix it. They refused to fix it immediately though got me in pretty quick. My disclaimer is the tires are more stretched than a normal tire, but according to Bridgestone, these tires should fit with little to worry about. Regardless, wouldnt recommend going here first. Here is my review of Firestone from today. You DO want to see how this one ENDS!----------I’ve been a customer at the State College Firestone off and on since 1998. I drive a 1994 Chevy Cavalier convertible. It is teal and has a white top and a white interior. I have babied and cared for this car since Day 1. Three years ago, I had the BODY redone. A little over three weeks ago, I picked up the car with a new TOP on it. The last item was inspection.I took the car to Firestone for the inspection. I also needed an oil change, a tire rotation, and a check of a coolant and possible oil leak. All of these things were done. I wasn’t surprised when brake measurements warranted some work. I know my car well enough after all of this time to know this would be a possibility. The coolant leak had to be fixed and the oil leak researched. All of that was done. By the time it was all done, I’d had about $2000 in work done under the hood.FOUR DAYS LATER…..I got in my car to go to work and when I stepped on the gas pedal, it felt like the car was hesitating to accelerate. I also heard a loud flapping noise. I thought maybe a belt got thrown off. I took the car back to have it checked and I’ll admit I was FURIOUS after spending almost $2000 to get everything fixed up nicely.Lonnie Hart, who has been there for much longer than I’ve been going there has always been trustworthy and honest. I’ve never known him to lie, period! The car was taken in and checked. The belts were checked and they were fine. Because of the age of my car, my car will not always communicate with the computerization. It may give error codes and sometimes it simply won’t. This also happens at the dealership where I bought it so it’s not Firestone. The engine seemed to be misfiring. The spark plugs were changed and that didn’t fix the issue.Lonnie called and asked of they could hold the car so that the technician who was more experienced at this type of problem could look at it the next day. Lonnie also reserved and PAID for me to have a RENTAL CAR. I agreed. Cylinders 2 and 5 had some major issues most likely due to a coolant and/or oil leak. The parts needed were ordered and brought in and the cylinders were repaired. That still didn’t fix the issue.Keeping in mind that they were working half blind and they were working mostly by visual inspection, patience became a massive virtue and my anxiety was up. I needed to stay calm. After that didn’t work, Lonnie called me to give me an update. It got to the point where the technician was taking apart the engine and finding so many issues from coolant leaks, oil leaking and other things. It was determined that the car needed to have a new engine put in it. Lonnie had already located one and ordered it.It took a couple of days to get the engine and then it had to be put into the car. Lonnie explained it as the car needing “a transplant.” Since I’m a nurse, he knew which analogy to use to make it all understandable.Today, I picked up the car and Lonnie and I went for a drive. We were listening to the car at a wide array of speeds. I could feel it in the gas pedal that this car had a new engine since the response to stepping on the gas pedal felt like a new or newer car. Any heavier idling that the car may have had before appears to be gone. I took the car out on the nearby bypass and opened her up. Smooth! For now, I’ll have about a week of close listening and watching as my car adjusts to its “transplant.”And here’s the part you do NOT know yet about this review: the GRAND TOTAL of the work done to the car was $2,713.49. And……Firestone did ALL of the work at NO CHARGE!

I went in for a State Inspection on my 2004 Chevy . It needed brake Work to pass . Brakes were on sale! My car needed a bunch of maintenance work too. Rad hoses were 13 years old and needed replaced. I like this car with over 200,000 miles. Thank You Firestone for helping limp my car along!!!
