The friendly staff and wide range of automotive services offered, this establishment should be the #1 place to have your vehicle serviced! Also, while your car is being taken care of by the best in the business, you can stroll over to the mall for a unique shopping experience to pass the time instead of sitting in the waiting area like every other service center!

I’ve been going to this Sears Auto for a couple of years for numerous things: oil change, brakes, new tires, inspections, and I’m sure I’m even forgetting to mention a few more.Dave is generally at front desk, and he’s everything you’re looking for in customer service: polite, honest, kind, punctual, professional, and knowledgeable. The rest of the team too are professional, thorough, and thoughtful; I apologize I cannot remember more names- because you all are worth remembering!‘Was there ever a time something went wrong, or was done incorrectly?’ Well, yes, of course- to human is too error. It happened only once, and as soon as I brought it up, Dave and the team took care of the issue. Like I said, Always a great experience!Regretfully, I have moved from the area, and cannot provide this location any further business.Therefore, I encourage you readers; if you do not have an automotive center where you feel valued as a customer, and can trust that what you’re hearing is fair and honest- here it is!
My tire started losing air after I hit some debris on the highway. I came into the auto center five minutes before they were about to close and asked if they were able to take a look. Not only were they very polite, there was no hesitation about staying late to check out my tire. Ten minutes later I had a new tire installed, saw a picture of the puncture in my old tire, and was driving away good as new. Thank you all again!!
Very pleasant experience. Dave greeted me right as I walked in the door. He was kind and easy to work with. He made the whole experience pleasant and painless from beginning to end. There was a tech inside( I didn’t catch his name. Taller gentleman very short dark hair and light eyes) who was inside as Dave got my vehicle info who I appreciate for chatting with me and not just standing there and making those few minutes awkward!!! I took my vehicle here three times. first time, i needed a tire stem fixed. they put my spare back in incorrectly, and my hatch wasnt fully closed, so i had to mess with that to get it shut. second time, i took it in for inspection and to replace a tire. they failed my state inspection and said it would be over $800 worth of work, which in my family we do the work that we can and let the garage do the rest (alignments, inspections, etc) they said i needed a new washer pump, but i didnt. the line was just clogged. oh and that second time, the tire that needed replaced, guess what they did a second time? put my spare back into my car improperly and my hatch again wasnt closed and i had to fix it. i was charged for the emissions AND the state inspection, and i was told that i would not have to pay again for the state inspection if i took it back there after everything was fixed. guess what i payed again today? the state inspection fee. NEVER TAKING MY CAR HERE AGAIN, UNTRUSTWORTHY!
Had Pennsylvania car inspection for a vehicle with under 8000 miles. It failed inspection because of rear wheel drum cylinders leaking. I took it to the Honda dealership, and they said there is absolutely nothing wrong with it -- and they showed me in person, unlike Sears agreed to do. The obviously highly untrained mechanic thought that assembly grease (remember the car is virtually brand new) was leaking brake fluid. Most high school vocational tech students would be able to know the difference. This guy did not. Avoid at all costs.
Something about Sears and tires; still have the best prices, the manager worked with me in pricing and getting pretty much “free” road hazard (which I never buy usually). It was a good experience there and they beat the prices off all the other stores in town.Only down side was that I felt the manager was trying to do a sales pitch on me; I’d prefer more straightforward pricing (he sold me tires on clearance but made it sound like he was giving ME and me only a deal). Regardless, he was honest in his pricing and recommendations, which is why I still went with them and am happy with my purchase.

Had an alignment done didnt notice a different vehicle still pulls to the right. Had tires installed cant hit 55 mph without the steering wheel shaking. Should of went somewhere else.

Great service Had an issue called and 20 minutes later my car was on the lift. Staff was personable. And helpful. So much better than pep boys.
They were very helpful when I hit a curb and blew a tire. I was stuck but they helped me figure out a solution. They ordered me a new tire and put a different tire I had in my shed. I appreciated their willingness to help and to solve the problem. I was back on the road in a reasonable time and able to get other things done.
Omg this place was amazing our car broke down they were angel’s from heaven. is awesome while we waited when to the mall did little walking around and we when to a gaming place call RAMPAGE, omg this place was a amazing the owner were so kind and helpful we did the smashing room and the virtual gaming my son and i we had a blast amazing memories.
The auto center manager, Mike and Dave were friendly, polite, and professional. They informed me that my tires were in need of replacement and made suggestions. My husband and I thanked them and made arrangements to have them put on when they came in. Sears is a brand I have always trusted and this location make the visits very pleasant

Went in for an inspection and they want to rip you off completely by saying that my rotor pads have to change. I politely declined and went to another shop and my vehicle was all okay and passed inspection. I will recommend never going to this place again.
I have been a regular here for the last two years. First Brian, and now Mike, really bend over backwards to provide exceptional customer service. These guys are honest, employ very good mechanics, and really take care of you. The prices are very reasonable and Sears usually runs some discounts on items/services each month. Honestly, I wouldnt go anywhere else in State College unless I needed a specific service that Sears couldnt provide.
Brian is the absolute best at customer service! I don’t know much about cars, but I only trust Sears Auto with my car now. They’re so accommodating, quick and reasonable. Brian always does an amazing job explaining things to me and goes above and beyond to try to come up with solutions. You should definitely try them out! Oh and they usually offer coupons which is amazing. I can’t rave enough about this place.
Have been a regular with this auto center for about 6 years. Have had numerous services done here and bought some tires. My wife and I will take our personal vehicles nowhere else!The staff is very customer focused and accommodating with scheduling. The techs are knowledgeable AND customer focused, as well. I wouldnt have anyone else work on my vehicle. Sears Auto in State College is fast, courteous, and knowledgeable. They schedule me quickly for service around my schedule, and dont try to oversell any part or service that isnt necessary, unlike other businesses.
The brake pads were not set in correctly.So I took it to the dealer and now have to replace pins and clamps another $225. But Sears was good about getting me in fast. But returned visit for the same problem and only a 10% discount.$$$

Awful service. They used to be great and Ive always been happy with the service .Brian always did a great job scheduling and helping us decide on services and tires . Im not sure what has changed in the past few months but my last two visits were horrible. Scheduling an appointment apparently doesnt matter because an hour after my appointment they still hadnt started my vehicle . Nor did they call to let me know itd longer.
I just wanted different type of brake pads installed on my car. Ceramic pads for less brake dust etc. I thought the old pads were the issue because the car made a weird noise since I bought the car new. They also greased the sticking caliper and guess what? No noise!Slightly over the estimated price...probably due to taxes not included in the estimate.My car was up and off the lift in less than an hour. Shocked how quick they were.Thank you for being the best!-Why didn’t I go to the dealership? 1 hr or so away for my preferred dealership and the Toyota dealership in town is garbage. They wanted to tack on $15 charge to inspect my floor mats when all I wanted was a tire rotation and oil change. I trust Sears way more than Joel Confer even with minor work requested to be done.
Sears is my go to place for my inspection and any issues I have. The customer service is great and they always do a great job and handle my car with care. A++
I have been coming to Sears for quite a bit of time now, and Im always impressed with the work they do on my car. Its always been timely and workers there like Brian and Dave help find me ways to save money while Im getting my car fixed. I have used other car servicers while Im out of town and I always feel like Im spending more and never receive the same customer service.

Great experience today I had my check engine light on and my car was stalling came to the store was greeted immediately got the car in checked out and repaired check engine light now all all within an hour and a half outstanding

I came to this sears tonight in a panic. I am from nj and i was out in Bellefonte when my SPARE tire got a flat. I called pep boys (only shop i remembered seeing on the way to my destination) at 4pm they said they couldn’t take me even though they close at 8pm. And i was asking for one tireI then called sears ! They were Able to take me right away. The staff is so nice they care about their customers. They got my paperwork together, and i was offered the amazing tire deal buy 3 get 1! They even stayed past close time to make sure i would get all new tires and home safely! Now i have 4 amazing tires! The manager Mike was super helpful and the quality of work i received and customer service was great. I now have a place to go if i need something for my car when i am out here! :) highly recommend!!!
Mike and his crew did a wonderful job on our Honda Civic safety inspection. They caught some things That would have otherwise gone unnoticed.

I lost my alternator belt on my Subaru 400 miles from home, the guys were great, they got me back on the road fast for less then half of what pep boys quoted me. Not only was the auto service great, the customer service was excellent and knoweledgable as well. If your in the area and need repairs check them out.

Turned here after first going to Pepboys, and received top notch customer service and valued information about potential work I needed. Did not feel pressured and they even gave me pizza while I was waiting since it was the 4th of July.
These guys are great and can often fit me in when I am working (I work at Macys, so we are in the same neighborhood). They have always worked with me and done a great job. They also let me know of potential issues ahead. Last time I went I had over $30 in surprise savings thanks to the Shop Your Way program. I am glad these guys are still open and they will continue to get my business. Shout out to Brian and Denise! They work with me over 90% of the time!
After the management change in Oct 2018 the quality of the service at this Sears Auto dramatically deteriorated . For example, I came for the appointment scheduled at 2 pm on Dec 1. After waiting an hour at 3pm I decided to check the status of work on my car . I was extremely surprised -even shocked - to see that my car was still on the parking lot. After one hour they even had not started working on my car! I just took my keys and left - no one - including the new manager did not even apologize that I wasted one hour of my time. Needless to say that Sears Auto lost me as a customer . I was a customer of Sears Auto for years. Brian who used to work there was super helpful. But after he left and the manager who served there for years also left that place became awkward to visit.
Awful! I just called for a code on the check engine light. I would like to have it checked 1st to see the actual cause of it. Instead Im being insisted on the phone that he would start by changing the spark plugs and then work from there. Instead of evaluating it and determining the cause, they already want to start charging the customer without the proper check.
Ive been coming to Sears for about 2.5 years for my Nissan Sentra and now my GMC Terrain. Every time I go there the guys always have a good attitude, they give great additional information if your car needs more work, and, if so, they can help you with financing. My best recommendation is to get a Sears credit card because its obvious to say car parts and repair time are costly, so it comes in handy when you cant front the whole bill. Each of the 3 people that helped me- Brian, Brandon, and Robert- went above and beyond with great customer service. These are trustworthy car mechanics and I trust them to do the best job, which is why I keep coming back for their services. Thank you!!
I’ve been a Sears Auto customer for years and keep coming back to the State College location because I’ve always received such outstanding customer service. Denise and Bryan were absolutely wonderful to work with over the years, and the new store manager Mike and service advisor Peyton are equally so. I purchased a new car and discovered day before yesterday that it handles horribly in rain. After reviewing forums I found that other Cadillac ATS owners experienced the same and the issue was due to the run flat tires the car came with. I stopped in Sears Sunday morning since I have to drive my daughter to and from school on weekends (1.5 hour trip with a moutain climb involved) to order new tires since I didn’t want to risk another white knuckle ride experience like the one I had Saturday. They called me first thing Monday morning to let me know the tires had been delivered and got me in immediately to have them put on. They also made me aware of several rebates and gave me all of the documentation necessary to submit them online. The level of service I’ve received here over the years is outstanding, and based on this latest experience it will continue to be so under the new management.
These guys always go out if their way to be helpful. If they dont have what I need they suggest places to go.

Had car troubles on a roadtrip from Atlanta to New York, and they managed to fit me in before they closed for the day. Were super helpful and even went with me to AutoZone to get the part that was needed so that I could make it home safely!

While I usually bring my car here and have success, the appointment scheduling online isnt working correctly. That is frustrating as I dont have a lot of time and like the convenience of just selecting an available time and going with it. Instead, they accept the time, then call me and say it wont work and give me another time. So it seems like the scheduling is working - but its not. I am hopeful they can better coordinate all this. Not taking my car there now because even though slots seem available, they are not. Too bad because I like the service and people. Please straighten this out!

Went in with a broken windshield wiper. I had no idea how to replace it, the service was exceptional! The guy helped me out by picking the wiper from their store, then went out to the car to replace the broken one. On top of that, the wiper was on sale, less than $10!! Second time there, will continue to go there for all my car needs. Great, exceptional service!!

This review is for the managements poor time sense - which apparently is habitual. (reviewed prior reviews while trying to write this review - most of them would say the same).I cannot comment on the workmanship as I did not get that far :(btw, I have been a customer for the past 3-4 years and unfortunately Ill be going elsewhere as my time is important to me.

Nice staff but they had no idea what was wrong with the vechile..after couple days I had 1500$ bill and faulty car and was asked to tow the vehicle out. had to tow to toyota near by and vehicle was fixed in no time with 200$As pointed out by other reviewers here they sometimes have no idea whats going on, which is okay but you shouldnt end up replacing parts for no reason giving huge Bills to your customers...
