I didn’t sign up there for a relationship with the boss and the price I came to create the best mind muscle connection. The heart of bodybuilding is trusting that destiny will manifest the champion of choice. Mr. Olympia. Pumping Iron was my favorite movie I still have the b&w weirder approach book
Been a member for 4 years, great place. Very spacious, and the best thing is that it is always clean
I called in to cancel my membership after paying for 6 months without going to the gym and they told me I am cancelled. I later got a call from an attorney saying I owed a balance. I tried calling the gym and I never got an answer after calling several times. They are very unprofessional and poor customer service. I will NEVER go to this gym again. I am not the only one that this happened to so please BEWARE of becoming a member of this gym.
The gym has very poor service and doesnt answer the phone. Its very hard to cancel my membership.
The gym is fine I have no problem with it. My problem is that I joined with a more expensive monthly membership so that I was not locked into a contract. However when I contacted Ron, the manager, with my request to cancel this membership, the only thing he had to say was ‘call this number’. I reluctantly called the number, which was Peak payment solutions, who explained to me that I have a contract with them and that I cannot cancel without paying for the next month and canceling with them with thirty days prior notice. They charged me every month during the pandemic that the gym was closed, and refused to refund the money, which was finally returned to me after filing several disputes with my bank, one for each monthly charge, and yet peak payment solutions is still harassing me with phone calls, three months since I canceled.I joined planet fitness just before the pandemic closed the gyms and during that time I was not charged for my membership. When I complained to spring fitness’s ‘money handlers’ about being charged during the COVID closures, the rep started to get very rude with me claiming she is not going to argue about the pandemic with me, that I owe what I owe and that’s the way it is.Good luck Ron & company. I see why your gym is slowly going to s*** the way you treat your members.
I don’t know why this gym has so many bad reviews. If you want a gym that offers upscale and has amenities you can pay $100 a month at a lifetime fitness. This gym is really great if you like to lift, you don’t need brand new equipment every year for that! Weights are weights. All the equipment is well maintained and clean. Staff isn’t pushy at all and they have been helpful when I needed them. The only thing I wish is better weekend hours and a dry sauna would be AWESOME! Great gym great prices.
The gym itself is ok, but I spent an hour on the phone to cancel my membership back in the summer and I find that Ive been charged for the past three months still.
Every Generation Iron addicts dream - if you love and are into bodybuilding, or just weight lifting in general this is the place to be. This gym has that classic bodybuilding vibe, and even though the Olympic weights are a little old, theres plenty to go around and more than enough equipment to get you through your workout. Yes, there is cardio equipment there, and they do also offer aerobic classes, and others as well. Check them out, if youre into the old school scene or a football player, or into bodybuilding youll definitely appreciate this place. If you want to see new equipment and a variety of classes, this wouldnt be the place for you.I had a great workout here and would definitely recommend going here!
Horrible customer service and the cleanliness is definitely lacking.
Great hours for busy people. Plenty of equipment. Staff is very helpful. Bathrooms are well maintained. Daycare is well managed. And the windows and mirrors sparkle. Very respectful. No attitudes.
Love the neighborhood gym atmosphere the staff and a number of guys my age who are there for the same reason I am, just to stay above the ground. There are men and women and no one bothers anyone. Glad I found this gym.
DO NOT JOIN SPRING FITNESS!!!!!! Do not join the 2920 location! The childcare area doesnt have working air conditioner, and it has moldy ceiling tiles and dirty carpet. They use a box fan to keep the kids cool. After 3months of dealing with this issue with no resolution, and my oldest daughter complaining about being hot, and picking up my 16month old with red cheeks from being hot I asked to be let out of my contract. Ron the general manager who I had been in communication with about the issues since it started in July became very unprofessional and even confronted my oldest daughter who is 5 about the situation making her feel scared and uncomfortable. Ron then became aggressive with me. The gym did however find the money to buy a new mixed martial arts ring. They clearly state in their advertisement that they provide free childcare with their memberships. What they dont state is that it doesnt have proper air conditioning, and is a breeding pool for bacteria. The air conditioner went out in July, and still is not fixed as of October 20. They continue to refuse to let me out of my contract. Instead offering me to do a buy out of over $400! They currently have a F rating on the BBB for having multiple complaints as well. Do NOT waste your money at this gym. The mirrors are cracked by the weights and half the treadmills dont work properly as well
I went in one day to check out the pricing on memberships at this gym and was really surprised how rudely the manager was towards me. Its a smaller gym with a garage-type vibe. That is what drew me to this gym in the first place. I wanted somewhere small, local, and not overrated. We started talking and I told him I had just moved to the area and hadnt worked out seriously in a while. Then he started commenting on how overweight I was, how he could tell my metabolism was slow, and was being really ugly and rude. I looked past it because I needed a close and affordable gym.I asked him for the pricing and he started spitting out numbers, which all seemed random and made up. I asked him to repeat because I couldnt understand what he was saying since he was going so fast and giving me a bunch of different numbers at one time. Then he started throwing out even more and different random numbers. I asked him if he had a sheet that showed the prices and different membership prices. He said these are the numbers and restated the numbers. Then I asked if they offered a free week or anything for me to try out to see if I liked the gym environment at different times. He then showed me a list of people who said they would come to try the gym and never came back, which should have been another clue that this is not a good place. Anyway, he offered me a one time free workout, which really isnt enough to get a good feel for a new gym.And the final kicker was when I asked for a tour of the gym and he said he was in the middle of a workout, rolled his eyes, sighed, got up, said lets go, and gave me a tour.It was all a very negative experience. I really wanted to like this gym because they seemed like a garage-type gym, have a tanning bed, are local, and have a small outdoor workout section. But after having a negative interaction with management and still not knowing the prices of the membership, Ill find another gym.
Way too much weightlifting for me. When you go in to do a workout after work and all you can hear is heavy weights hitting the floor - no way to relax. Maybe need to adjust the atmosphere
The classes offered here are wide ranged and conducted in a very professional manner.
The facilities are nice and the staff is friendly. But just a word of advice READ EVERY BIT OF FINE PRINT IN THE CONTRACT!!What you get is a 3 year contract that CANNOT BE CANCELLED if you decide to go somewhere else or can no longer afford it.
Family friendly gym. they always have events for the kids and adults. nutrition depot gives out free samples and the staff is SUPER friendly. I wouldnt go to any other gym!
Read your contract with a fine tooth comb before signing anything! Also DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING YOU ARE TOLD by the gym sales people. They will tell you anything to get you to sign. One thing to remember, the actual membership is sold to a third party management company. That management company has nothing whatsoever to gain by working with you if you need to cancel for any reason. So be ready to bend over and be driven hard if you ever need to cancel for any reason.
I have memberships to several gyms and Spring Fitness is my favorite. Its a true bodybuilder/powerlifters gym. Ive never been trained by the personal trainers but they are friendly. Great free weights and the best bars around. Decent locker rooms. If youre into machines, wrong gym for you.
Went through the same issue as two other reviewers about contracts, I had probably just turned 18 and wanted to start going to the gym, first time for everything, never signing anything without reading every detail. Was told it was month to month and I could cancel whenever. I moved to Dallas not long after starting and wanted to cancel and told them my reason because they wanted to make a big fuss about it. Dont go here. They are very two faced.
This place is really neat and clean, never too many people and good equipment.
Way over priced and the staff are not friendly. Place is dirty as well.
Super dated place and not so clean. I would not recommend.
Cant wait till my membership is over. The daycare is just out of control. My daughter is scared to even stay with all the crap that goes on. Tanning beds... I dont think its ever cleaned, I went tanning one time... had to leave my shoes on..... . Love the ZUMBA classes... Would not suggest this place to anyone that will be using the daycare
Been a member for 6 years .Love that they give Military discount.Would stay a member because of the good staff, nice monthly price, but need to relocate to Indiana. Oh yes they have excellent trainers.
Be very careful before you sign a contract here. The company that handles the memberships for this chain (National Fitness Financial) are professional slums. I was hit with a surprise charge after my contract expired, and they notified me that I had to give written notice of thirty days cancellation since it AUTO renewed my contract without my knowledge. I called on the second day of October, and they insisted that I would have to pay for November as well since I had missed the October 1 cancellation date. Do yourself a favor, look into the ratings on National Fitness Financial before you commit. This was a BIG MISTAKE! Couldnt really get much worse than this, especially for a home town gym like this one that does minimal to keep the place in working order. Unbelievable.
DO NOT SIGN THE CONTRACT. All contracts are for 3 years and you are required to pay 20% of the remaining balance if you decide to leave. The gyms are small, no basketball courts, no pools, and uncompetitive hours. This gym should not be in business. Its absolutely ridiculous that any gym has a mandatory contract of 3 years.
Be careful with this gym. I am in the process of trying to get it removed from my credit report, but my credit card was stole that was connected with my account, I let them know that and after two missed payments (because I was dealing with my bank and other fraud charges) they sent it to collections. My payments were only $25 a month. So two months would have been $50, they are now saying I owe them $1000. FOR WHAT??? Dont miss you payment, but dont expect them to work with you either
I have been going to the Tomball club and have had a great experience so far. Derek the manager has been very helpful and the location is perfect for me.
If I could, I would not even give this gym 1 star. The most dishonest gym around! I was told by the sales person AND the manager this was a month to month plan and that I could cancel ANYTIME. When I went to sign the printer was down so I couldnt review it but the sales person assured me it was month to month cancel anytime. Until I went to cancel after one month. (hated this gym. Wasnt for me) they said my contract was a THREE year contract!!! Three years later I am finally getting to get out of this hell and they make canceling your membership a chore. The girl on the phone actually tried to trick me into a renewal by charging me after my expiration. ( and I DID submit 30days prior). These people and their management company are crooks!! Do yourself a favor and get some excersise RUNNING from this place.
Nice place. Sweating will get you a smart comment.
In town fior one day and needed a quick workout with free weights. Had evrrything i needed. Larry was extremely hospitable. Highly recommend.
I was a member at the Spring location for 3 years when my contract was up for renewal, I asked for a lower monthly rate I was paying 32 a month and the manager at the time had told me I was at the lowest rate already, well I got a membership at Fitness Connection about 6 minutes away for 10.00 a month, its a lot cleaner, 3 times bigger in size mon thru Thursday open 24 hours and more equipment so that was a no brainer, Thank you Spring Fitness .😉
We love Spring Fitness and the team that manages the gym. Its very family friendly and a relaxed atmosphere, so as a new mom with baby fat, I dont feel awkward or embarrassed working out, and Im happy with their nursery / child care as well. Ive never been nervous about leaving my 5 mo old with them. Most of the other people that work out there are really polite. During the day when I work out its mostly other moms, off duty cops, and fire fighters ... So I always feel safe! Haha! Theres a separate womens area, a big aerobics room (where Ive taken a lot of free yoga and pilates classes), and nice clean bathrooms. The other nice thing is theres always trainers wandering around who are happy to help you figure out the machinery and give you workout tips. My only complaint is that my hubby and I are going to be moving soon and theres no Spring Fitness close to our new house! I will settle for a Y or something meanwhile .... but Im hoping they open another location close to our new house soon (o:
I didnt actually get a membership there because when I went in, the whole club looked really dirty. They wanted all kinds of fees to get the membership adding up to around $100 then $20 a month. The girl left me sitting in the waiting area for 30 minutes before even talking to me, and seemed like she really didnt know much about the contracts. I asked her if there was a contract and she said no. So I asked what would happen if after 3mo I didnt want to go there anymore. She said I would have to pay fees for cancelling early, so I said: ok, so there IS a contract. She just wanted me to sign on the dotted line and wouldve told me whatever to get me to do it. All of the other gyms in the area gave me better prices and were much cleaner. I literally went to over 10 gyms in the spring area checking them out to find the right gym for me. Im going with Pure Fitness they are $20/mo with a $50 start up and have free day care, are CLEAN and everything is new and nice. If I didnt go with them, Id be going with Fitness Connection, they were asking the same price as Pure Fitness (they are owned by the same company). I strongly suggest you go somewhere else, for the price you can get a lot better!
Iron plates are real weights!!🏋
The staff is pretty pushy about signing a contract, but their hours are pretty restrictive. Other options in the area are better.
Went to gym to try it out and after 2 visit called and told them it wasnt for me. They said I couldnt cancel because I was on a 3 year contract. I said hold up I have thr original contract and no where on there does it say 3 yrs or I wouldnt have sighned it. They still refused to cancel and charge me every month now its on my credit I owe them 1400 and I went 2days. Dont sighn anything with them its a scam.
Best gym ever.
The actual place is awesome and not as expensive as others gyms, BUT the hours are horrible of you have a irregular schedule
Great atmosphre reasonable hours
Good for excersise
Nice place to break a sweat
The usual tricky contracts-sign up for a month and it becomes an automatic renewal for a lifetime. Staff ignores members and it’s dirty.
Terrible Gym. Better gyms in the area.
Spring fitness is the best in Texas
Love
Love this gym!
