I went here because they were on a list of businesses that are gender-affirming. My barber Craig did an excellent job and took care to make sure my haircut was just what I wanted. Did a great job. However, I do wish they posted the phone number on the door because they keep it locked and I was waiting outside for a while, wondering if they were closed or running late.

I got a facial done by Katie and it was the best one I have ever had! She was super sweet and professional! She was knowledgeable on products and what my skin needed! I am definitely going back!

Amazing salon. Got a mens cut from Alexander and the attention to detail was the most prolific part of my experience. He gave me the cut, then shampooed my hair, then made some touchups, then styled it, then touched it up once again. There is not a single odd hair on my head. I was also impressed by minimal use of clippers. For this service the price was exceptional at only ~$30.

It may have a new name and more services, but Alexander York offers the same exceptional experience that has kept me returning for over a year now. The number one reason I come back is the quality of the haircut itself - not only is Chere well-trained and very experienced, she prides herself on staying current with the latest styles and trends. I may be consistent with how Ive cut my hair since I started coming here, but shes the type of professional who you can feel comfortable asking for advice on what might look best with your hair type, head shape, complexion, and so on.I always go with a Mens Signature Cut, which includes a shampoo and head & neck massage. For whats included, as well as the fact that youre seated in a private room, the value is obvious. She wont let you get thirsty, either. My hair is thick and grows very quickly, so being able to come in every two weeks for a half-priced trim is an option I really appreciate. No growing in or making it last periods to try to get your moneys worth.You can certainly call in to make an appointment, but one of the main draws for me is being able to schedule regular appointments months in advance through their website. If youve ever had to travel for work and waited until the last minute to try to get in a chair, youll understand why its nice to be able to take care of it in advance and then forget about it.Like I said, Ive been coming here since the business was known as Wise Guys and specialized in mens services. Since the re-branding, my wife has visited to have her hair cut and colored and couldnt be happier with the results. Having both moved around the country pretty frequently, were very happy to have found such an outstanding and reliable barber & salon in Spokane.

She is the most skilled hairdresser I have encountered and can do it all from simple to edgy. She listens to how you want your hair done and explains how something will look prior to having it done. She takes the time with you to make sure youre really happy with your service and will even go over the time slot to achieve what you need. She also isnt pushy when it comes to buying products or scheduling a future appointment, which is great if youre like me and just like to see how it grows out and schedule an appointment from there. What a difference a second appointment makes. My first visit here was wondering. My stylist did awesome the first time around. But my second visit was not so well. She cut my hair ok. But at the end of my hair cut, seem to be in a hurry and didnt even dry my hair. For a $45 trim, you would expect your hair to be dry.Wont be going back. :(

Chere stacked the back of my hair so that the bottom 3 inches is scraggly with no weight to it. All the weight of my hair is 1/3 way up my head and that is where it looks like my length is because the scraggly lightweight hair just crinkles up and disappears under the weight of the shorter hair.Some people may do OK with this kind of haircut but not my hair. This is a very specific kind of cut and I wish hair stylists would not take liberties in cutting anyones hair like that without describing it very carefully to the client before cutting away. It so happens Ive had this miserable kind of cut in the past and so even asked Chere not to cut vertically from the bottom up. But the communication didnt work. When I went back to see if there was a fix she just did more of the same! I dont think Chere is a bad hair stylist at all and the salon is very nice.I just hope this helps to understand that this particular cut does NOT work for all hair types and had I understood what her plan was I would definitely have opted out! Its been three months and I am still sad and suffering trying to grow this out. Probably take a full year to get back to looking really good.

I went in for just a shampoo and style, the girl that did my hair was very nice but I have to say Im a little disappointed with how much I paid and the way my hair came out wasnt exactly worth the money. But at least everybody was polite.

I love this place, they actually show you how to style your look and use the products. Coming from someone who is hair incompetent it is means so much more to be able to replicate the look you want.

I came here last week for the first time to get a balayage and a hair cut. The stylist I saw gave me a decent cut, but totally botched the color and there were obvious blotches and stripes. I left feeling totally frustrated and wrote a Google review reflecting my feelings. Chere, the owner, called me personally a couple of days later to see what had gone wrong, and offered to rectify the issue. She scheduled me for a re-do with a different stylist named Mel, and the results were fantastic! Much closer to what I was originally hoping for, especially given the total cover up. I definitely recommend Mel, and appreciate the owners excellent customer service.

Mel did me a sew in and she slayed my hair it lasted a whole three months....got it washed and tightened at the 2 month mark and it looked just as good as when she first did it. i get my hair done by Her regularly; she cut my hair into a bob once and did very well which is rare in Spokane
