Used to be good! Barbers need updated!DAN WOULD BE EMBARRASSED!

Writing this for my father-He went into get his haircut Thursday by Gabriel (it was AWFUL when he got home). We demanded he go back and get it fixed and when he went back on Friday to get it fixed by Gabe he made him pay for another haircut because “he said it looked good when he left”. You should give someone at least 24 hours to decide if they like it or not. Especially with the lighting difference and your hair still being wet when you leave.Then to top it off my dad had to get his hair completely shaved in the end because there was no way to save the haircut (it was just that bad).I would not recommend Gabriel to cut your hair.Next time you think of going here just go to another barbershop on Monroe.

Good haircut kind of higher price but worth it

I stopped to help out local business and received a horrible haircut. I went back the next day to have the cut fixed and was charged full price for another haircut to fix the mess they gave me to start with. Paid $40 (including tips which were not earned) for the worse haircut I have ever had. Never going back there.

Good cut good price friendly atmosphere

I have been going to DANS Barber shop since I was 16yrs old, I am now 87yrs old.

They are cheap haircuts but because they are cheap some of the barbers dont care as much about giving the customer the haircut the customer wants and may just stop in the middle of the haircut because the barber didnt want to give the customer what the customer wanted.

It is a business that I go to every time I am in Spokane.

I decided to come here to get a haircut after growing my hair for about 3 1/2 months. My late Grandpa Ike always used to come here for many years up until the last year or two of his life. I received a great haircut from Mike, who has been there for about 55 years. He did a professional job and was very friendly, especially to the grade school kid before me. Definitely recommended and also, carry cash with you, since they dont do checks or debit cards.

The barbers consistently miss parts of your hair. I always had to redo haircut myself. No point in continuing doing business there.

Cheap for a reason. Not very well maintained and I have gotten 2 bad hair cuts. Lopsided haircuts when all I want is a simple haircut. I am not even picky. I just want it to look presentable. I went somewhere after the second time they made a screw up. Seems like some barbers are better than others.I had 4-5 decent haircuts before. They stopped using the strait razor too.The worst part I think is how unsanitary they are.

Great place to go and cheap

Grandsons came out with real haircuts not the hack job supercuts inflicted upon the poor little guys that they had to live with till Dans opened up again. Thank you for a good experience for my little buddies first trip to a real barber shop.

This new guy Michael just cut my hair today. He did a 5 star job! I couldnt be happier. He put out the extra effort and detailed it. Right now he works there 5 to 7pm. Hes a short guy early 30s with dark hair. For $12.5 cant beat it. I gave him a well deserved tip. That said, I wish I could give some of the other barbers their good reviews. Its hit and miss depending on who you get. Ive had some pretty bad hair cuts by some of them.

Formerly much better quality haircut at much better price. New management was not for the better. Hope with more time and experience it will improve.

I stopped on my way out of town and had Johanna. If you like detailed beard trims and detailed hair cuts, do NOT go to this place. She thinks she is very good but has no clue on details and her service is poor. My beard was uneven and did not do what I wanted. Please save a headache and go to a different barber.

Didnt even make it in. Whoever answered the phone was innatentive and rude to the point that Im actually writing a review. That is to say it was a bit ridiculous how they would treat a potential client.

Took my 3 grandsons in today, they all received Caesar haircuts they all look great. When you get 3 different barbers you expect different results. Thats not the case at Dans. A BIG thank you to Michael and the others. The boys love there haircuts.

Poor Dan must be rolling in his grave. This place is at a all time low. 1 barber at work on my last visit. MisManagement at its best. Wont be going back now. To bad use to be a great place for a cheap haircut. Maybe the owner will take it back from his daughter and run the place better.

I had my first haircut here, so it has a sense of nostalgia for me. I quit going there a few years ago because I could not stand the people who work there. I went back today for an emergency cut. WTF. It has gotten worse if that was even possible. Understaffed. Screaming kids. RUDE. SLOW. AMETURE. There are a million places better than Dans. Do yourself a favor and keep driving.

Easy check-in process (grab a number & wait to be called up). Lots of barbers working so the wait is never long. Best bang for your buck in town.

Only place I know shaves you with a straight razor.A bit of advice for those that go for hair cut. Its first come, first serve. Check the Google Maps info for the best time to go.

Love Dans and the fact you can wait for the barber of your choice. Johanna is the only one that understood how I wanted my hair cut. Thanks. Also Johanna has been doing my older sons hair for years, now she does my second son and his fathers hair. BEST PLACE in town and less expensive too.

My 76 yr old roommate wouldnt get his hair cut anywhere else, although he notes that there have been some price increases on the last few years.

Please bring back Jody and Sean. These two barbers are exceptional and bring great business to your establishment. Johanna needs to work on her customer service and reception skills--shes a total buzz kill. Go to Jasons Barber Shop on Division and Indianna--EXCEPTIONAL BARBER!

Walking into Dans Barber Shop is like stepping back in time. Jars of combs in blue juice, loads of magazines, cushions and lollipops for kids. Ive never had a bad haircut here and Ive been going to Dans since 1994. Barbers change from time to time, but a few of the older guys have been there lots longer than Ive been going. Not all of them can do a good buzz cut, but all of them do use a straight razor to clean up around the neck and ears. Love the hot foam and a straight razor!Im sure one of these days, the price for a mans haircut will exceed $10, but not yet.

Hard to find places like this that are great quality for less than $10. The haircut will be as good as your instructions are. Really impressed!

Your shop is gorgeous, clean, NEW. I always went to Brett (Clymen)s shop on Sprague, by Donnas Restaurant -- but I dont know now !! Keep the promotions going, Dan -- Ill be back !!

I took my grandson here and we had a very fun and memrable experience. Brian cut his hair and gave everyone a show in less than 6 minutes. I will be forever taking my grandson here for hair cuts!!!!! Thank you Brian you are awesome!!

Always a great haircut in a good atmosphere. The price and quality cant be beat, spend 15 minutes and get a haircut.

Its a traditional barbershop that can service the whole family. We dont have to go to 3 different places to get all of our hair cut. And the prices are unbeatable.

I have been going to Dans since my parents moved to Spokane in 1971. My first haircut at Dans was on August 27, 1971, a week before starting school. I live in Airway Heights now and will travel the distance to get the same quality haircut I have been getting for over 43 years.

My first visit there resulted in one of the best haircuts Ive ever had. The second visit however resulted in the worst haircut I have ever had or seen. I asked for a medium length fade and recieved a short crop-chop that was patchty.I guess it really all depends on who is working, which is why I am giving this place 1 star...too risky of a bet.

BEWARE !! I went and got a hair cut and the barber cut my son on his neck with clippers then was cutting my hair cut the heck out of my neck with the same clippers never cleaned them God only knows how many people hes cut spreading God knows what disease. This is a health concern. I WILL NOT RISK MY HEALTH I WILL GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Some barbers are great and some are not. Depends on who you get.

This is a no frills B Shop but the barbers have many years of experience and do a good job.

Been taking my sons here for a few years, they rotate barbers so its pretty much a different person every time. They do a decent job if you are just looking for a crew cut or a high and tite but dont go here looking for a hairdresser.

My daughter wont go anywhere else. Theyre the only place that gets her pixie cut just right.

I asked him to cut my hair a certain way and before I knew it half my hair was gone!!!I used to go in to see one guy I dont know his name but then decided I should go over to Mikes since theres a long line and well never go there to the barbershop even at all ever again!!!!

Ive been here a dozen times, and its just ok. If youre going to chat, dont. Cuts are a ok, but hit and miss.

There is this one barber that I would not let cut your hair he is a younger guy and have a nose ring he is the worst when I was younger he choped half my hair off I asked for 2 inches be cut off 6 and now I asked if he could trim my bangs and he choped them like the look like zig zags
