My elderly father purchased a used RAV4 at this dealership and was not told that it only came with one key and no manual until AFTER he bought it. When he went back they ignored him even though he requested to speak with a manager. He sat there for over two hours waiting. They also tried to charge him for something that should have come with the vehicle. The level of disrespect they showed my dad is unacceptable and I would not buy a vehicle there if they were selling it for a dollar. I was told by the sales rep that with the current vehicle market that the car came with a lot and they didnt have to give him $600 off of his deal but they did it in order to make his deal work, which is not unusual in the negotiation process of buying a car. Just because there is a chip shortage and you have customers over a barrel doesnt mean you should rake someone over the coals and disrespect them because you THINK you hold all of the cards. I e-mailed corporate and will tell everyone I know about this horrible experience. I hope the $400 was worth all of the negative feedback I will be sharing with anyone who will listen. Its dealerships like yours that make people want to buy cars online to avoid all of this. Pretty soon the buying process will all be online and there will be no salesperson there to mislead and misguide an elderly buyer. If I could give you less then one star I would because you dont even deserve that.
First, if I could’ve selected zero stars I would have. This is the first time I’ve written a review which means that this was a horrible experience. My daughter’s vehicle went in for service as well as another issue. The advisor came back with a ridiculous list of recommendations that totaled over $2,000. My wife told him not to do anything until he heard back from me. I reached out to him the following day and confirmed not to complete any service on the vehicle and we would be taking it somewhere else. My wife then took my daughter to pick up the vehicle and to our surprise, they had performed unauthorized work on the vehicle. My wife asked the advisor if I authorized the work and he said yes. This is a blatant lie and is exactly the reason for this negative review. At the end of the day it’s $85 that was overcharged, but the service or lack there of is the heart of the issue. I disputed this through my bank and again to my surprise they said they couldn’t help because my wife had paid the total amount and there was no evidence otherwise. She had to pay to take the vehicle off the lot (common sense). This is a lesson learned that every conversation needs to be in writing. Even if a business records phone calls, it’s not enough because they won’t take the time to listen to them. They just hope that we all just go away so they can continue abusing people. In the end we took the vehicle to another mechanic, who said some of the things they recommended be replaced were fine and we ended up spending $800. This Toyota dealership should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of good people. Karma always comes back to bite at some point.
I think their prices are extremely expensive. I paid 100 dollars last visit for an oil change. The advisors are nice, but their service hours have changed, they now open at 8 instead of 7. They’ve changed a lot the past few years and I don’t think for the best.

Nick Cabera provided outstanding customer service by answering all of our questions throughly and explained to us all of our options. Moreover, they had a wide selection and better displayed used vehicles rather than competitors near by which could not meet up to their expectations, love the 90 day warranty instead of 30 days and offered more than what federal law requires to back up within the 90 day warranty policy. In addition, provided 5 year oil change and tire rotation on a car that is not brand new is simply outstanding and guarantees customer satisfaction with their purchase. Finally, being under new management, this is the best experience we have had by far.

Went in mid March, looking into one of their used cars. Young salesman, Greg, was awesome. Answered our questions, unfortunately the one I really wanted was sold. The entire store and lot was clean, Greg was great and I would definitely recommend this auto dealer to my friends. It didnt work out for me but they do have an abundance of cars and great deals.

If it wasn’t for the the great service we received from the sales rep, Ellie, I’d give this place a 0.The GSM strung us along for a full week -they promised the car we put a deposit on to someone else. Our calls were completely ignored and we had to drive 30 minutes to get answer and to get the car that we put the deposit on.Fast forward to today, I dropped off the car to get an oil change and roof racks installed. Yet again, I’m getting ignored. It is now 5pm and they have yet to return my call to let me know if the car is ready. This should’ve been a 3 hour appointment.Take your business elsewhere.

We arrived after having a bad experience at another dealership and were blown away by the attention we received from the team - especially Elle Colon! After explaining what we were interested in and our budget, Elle quickly showed us a few vehicles that were perfect matches and answered every single question and concern we had. She followed up with us regularly (but did NOT pressure us in the least) and made the whole experience a lot less stressful and overall very pleasant! other members of the team were fantastic as well (Mike was understanding and super helpful. Mehdi in finance - so easy to work with and very funny!) We will definitely be recommending them to everyone!
Worst. Customer. Service. Ever. Wait times are unbelievable. When I had to get my brakes replaced i was offered the convenience of an Uber back to my office. Sounded great but when my car was ready (& I had to call them to find that out) the service adviser did not call the Uber as promised. I waited over an hour making repeated phone calls to him- he never picked up. Finally after a 20-plus-minute wait on hold on the dealership’s main number, and venting on a poor operator, I got a ride. So not worth the free oil changes to deal with them. Will happily pay out of pocket for all future maintenance.

When will car dealers stop playing the game of hide and seek pricing? On this Toyota Of Smithfield website you must give to get a price. Shoppers have to give their contact info to get quotes. Everything is conditional...! What if you went on Amazon and looked at a refrigerator. You clicked on it and it says you have to give contact info before you see what the price is...? Car dealers like this have to get out of there own way, certainly the customers way. Would never buy anything here...!

I had an extremely poor experience here at Toyota of Smithfield. I came into the dealership this Saturday with my girlfriend and she was interested in a 2016 Camry SE that had been on the lot for a while.The entire day Monday, she was messaged and called by workers asking if she was still interested in the Camry. After going back ALL day with Nick, one of the sales managers, and traveling 40 min to come take another look and move forward with the purchase, Just as we pulled into the parking lot I received a text message from him saying, “I want to let you know the Blue SE Camry did just sell”. Disappointed and extremely upset, we went into the dealership to speak with a manager.After waiting 25 min for someone to come speak with us, Victor, one of the sales managers, explained to us that this morning, a young woman came in and put down a deposit on the 2016 Camry SE, but that we could go outside anyways and take a look at the Camry. Very confused, we asked him to clarify. He went on to say that she is very young, has no credit, and is very unreliable, so we can still make a purchase on the vehicle.Victor wanted to go behind this family’s back, completely ignoring their deposit that was put down on the car because THEY wanted THAT car. We were not about to take someone’s car away from them. That is completely shady, rude, and sneaky. I did not want to put her and her family in the same position that we were in, so we walked out, saying we were not interested anymore.On Saturday, we met about 6 different employees each telling us how much they wanted to get there name out there positively and constructively. This is NOT the way to do that.

All of the staff was super friendly and their prices were very competitive. Elle from Smithfield Toyota was amazing. My husband and I were short on time, and she and her team did everything to make sure all of our needs were met. The vehicle we had wanted wasn’t available at this location, but they went above and beyond to get the exact make and model that we wanted. She even came in on her day off to make sure the car arrived on time, and it was exactly what we wanted.From the moment we walked through the door to when we drove off with our new car, we felt taken care of and felt no “salesman pressure” from any of the staff. We will be back in the future for our car needs.

I realy dont like making unpleasant reviews but this is the second vehicle i purchased from this dealer...the recent vehicle i was given 5 free oil changes which where not worth it...i live in the south Kingstown area so the ride is long, my first oil change i sat for 3 hours with nothing but excuses from the service department, i was later told i would need front brakes...my second oil change i waited again almost 3 hours being told i should change my front brakes, my recent and 3rd oil change my wife took the vehicle and my wife waited 3 hour, she was offered an uber to go somewhere for lunch which she had to pay for the tip, once the vehicle was ready, nothing was mentioned about the brakes...i had no other choice but to call the service manager...later that evening i received a call from Kyle the service manager...after talking with Kyle who was very understanding and tried to be helpful but when i explained that nothing was ever said about.my brakes, Kyle checked the order to find that my front brakes actually got better...being a joke because who ever worked on my vehicle said my brakes went from a 2 to 4 to 8....meaning the person just checked the boxes of there liken...the safty of my vehicle was not a concern...as others said, are the free oil changes worth it if your vehicle drives out of this dealership unsafe!!!
Bad first time experience took my wifes 2015 Toyota Camry LE for service for RI state inspection and was quoted 45min - 1hr. The machine failed and rebooted and service advisor said will take an additional 30min so we were not happy about that.They have free coffee and drink but, no free snacks unfortunately.Additionally, the service advisor was nice and courteous and there are many models and options to choose from. See the pictures! The lot is full with options and many different sub model. Seems like an honest reputable business. If my review was helpful please give me a thumbs up! Thanks!!In total for vehicle inspection and wiper blades it took 2.5 hours due to miscommunication on fault of the dealership this is the reason why voting 2 stars out of 5.The service advisor Daniel was kind enough to reduce the labor for the wiper blade installation because of the long wait but the bill is still very high for inspection and wiper blades $86.80 the inspection was 55$ standard.
Making giant change from 30 years with Nissan thought I would try Toyota after hearing wonderful reviews . Met Nick on Sunday nice guy acted very caring trustworthy convinced me to try Lexus loved it but still had to think a bit .texted him on Tuesday told him I loved the car but it hinged on what I could get for my trade. He gave me appointment for Thursday to get it checked. Thursday morning he texts me “ the car you drove Sunday was sold” no call to say someone was interested or do you want to put a deposit!!!! Why would you not have the courtesy to call & or tag the car that someone is interested . I will never buy a vehicle from them . Maybe they should go back to commission

I couldn’t agree more to the standard of customer service and very much professionalism I received from my salesperson Elle! I went in expecting the typical car salesperson, the pushy hurry and buy type of attitude. Not from Elle, she did such an amazing job getting me into my new car, and made sure to check up on everything and has been super helpful! This was my first new buy for a vehicle, and it turned out to be so much better, the entire experience from start to finish has been spectacular. I honestly will be back in time to buy another car or truck (hopefully from Elle) but from Toyota of Smithfield! All I can say is outstanding! I’m so happy I made the decision to go to Toyota of Smithfield! I was stuck in an awful lease with Grieco Toyota of East Providence and I was over paying for a lease I did not love at all I received horrible treatment from the sales associate when I tried to share my concerns and what I was unhappy with. However Elle at Toyota of Smithfield gave me the most elite treatment and so much peace of mind. Theirs no secrets or extra fees she answered all of my questions without hesitation. What I loved the most about this place is that the customers peace of mind is priority and they will work with you no matter what your situation is. If you feel uncertain about anything they take the time to break it down for you and it was the best experience I’ve ever had purchasing a vehicle and I will be returning most certainly.
Bought a used car here a couple months ago. My salesman, Greg was great he genuinely seemed like he was out to help me and has been the only real positive part of my experience here (along with the receptionist).Once you buy a car from them, dont expect for them to ever follow up with you (even if its in their best interest) and even if you call them dozens of times and leave dozens of voicemails. They, however, will contact you when they need something and will even lie and claim they tried to reach you several times (not true at all).The only response I got was when I reached out directly to Gregs personal phone, and he immediately helped me.Recieving the car took far too long the day I purchased it, well over 2 hours of waiting AFTER all the paperwork and credit application.They made a mess of my title transfer and were very difficult to contact to resolve the matter, and then tried to shift the blame to me when they did finally reach out.I came back to the dealership to cancel my warranty after being told no appointment needed only to wait around for 2 hours and be told I probably wouldnt be able to see anyone today and will need to come back again. Its like the left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing at this place. Extremely frustrating and time consuming experience,. I would never return here and if youre in the market for a car, youre better off going pretty much anywhere else.Extremely unprofessional, no sense of cohesion here at all.
Im beyond happy with my experience at Toyota of Smithfield. Ive tried a few different Toyota Dealerships & Service Centers in RI & MA, but this Smithfield location is my favorite by far. The service on my vehicle was incredibly quick and convenient. The waiting area was clean and comfortable with kind and caring staff and good music playing at a reasonable level. My service rep Justin was awesome throughout the entire process. I will be coming back for sure!

Sorry to say but we had a bad experience with buying our Toyota Sienna 2020. We had booked and finalized the car around October first week 2020. We continued to wait for about 1.5 months.We were finally and to get our car delivered 3 weeks back after a huge long delay of about 1.5 months! I would say our experience with this dealership was poor. Mr N was our car salesman and he did a very poor job of communicating with us what the real issue was the car. There were no updates from him for 2 weeks and we had to follow up all the time.We understand its covid times and things could get delayed but definitely Mr N. could have done a much better job keeping us informed for sure. He did not meet us on the day we picked up our car nor did he even acknowledge the fact about the delay or apologize or anything. he had a poor attitude during the entire time.However Sam (finance dept) and Sufi were kind enough to take care of us and get the car delivered finally. They took care of us well and we appreciate that!They are the reason for the 3 stars if not just based on Mr N. experience I would give a 1 star.Please train the car sales personnel better so they have a right attitude towards the customers. thanks!
Bought a 2021 Highlander Friday. Our salesman Juan Dominguez did an awesome job making sure my wife had the vehicle she wanted with all the extra options she was looking for. They take FOREVER to do oil changes/general maintenance. You will easily wait 2+ hours with an appointment. Everyone seems miserable and annoyed to help. The only reason I come back is because they gave me free oil changes with the purchase but this is ridiculous.

Was told my oil change would take 1.5 hours. Waited more than 2.5 hours and had to go find my service advisor to get checked out. What he told me about the multi-point inspection doesnt match whats on the paper (which I had to ask him to print). Now Im worried theres an issue he didnt explain to me. Planning on calling later to clarify.
I had a few challenging credit issues that prevented me from getting a vehicle anywhere else, however, Nick and the crew at Toyota of Smithfield was very helpful and knowledgeable about working out my situation. They took the time needed to see that I was able to leave their with the vehicle I requested. I had a great experience with Nick leasing my new car! The process was so quick, and they registered the car, switched my insurance, cleaned, and gassed up the car all within a few hours. This is the 3rd lease I’ve gotten with Toyota, but this was by far the easiest and most pleasant experience I’ve had.

Great experience from the first phone call to meeting with Nick Cabrerra. We were well taken care of despite the dealership being very busy on a Saturday. Nick was very professional and patient and well informed and just a nice person. He got us the RAV4 we wanted at the price we wanted to pay with zero pressure or hassle. The sales manager Mike and the finance manager Medhi were both awesome as well. Overall a great experience including the receptionist who was very helpful and friendly.

I can say we are 100% satisfied with our experience at Toyota of Smithfield. Mike Essig, Mike Patnaud and Abed were all very easy to work with. From the moment we walked into your building we felt very safe in relation to the virus and were treated very well. Everyone respected our time and opinions. It felt like the Toyota dealership that we were used to from years ago. We were happy to know that Abed is still there and had just moved offices. He, as usual, was very personable and knowledgeable. The financing went through very easily and he answered all our questions. Mike Essig had our insurance company on the phone and a card all set for our glove box when we picked up the vehicle today. He and Mike Patnaud were very knowledgeable about the vehicle and our options. We picked our 2020 Highlander today and are very happy with it .

About two weeks ago from this date August 25, 2020, I received a recall notice regarding my Prius. The recall stated that the Hybrid System Software needed to be updated. If driven a vehicle stall could occur causing an increase chance of a crash. I called Colonial to make an appointment for the recall notice and provided the Colonial service agent with my Prius VIN. The agent found me in their computer system. (So I know the had the right Prius). The Agent then told me my Prius did not have a safety recall and did NOT need to be fixed.Being weary of having been told this with the official recall in my hand I called the Toyota Customer Center. The representative at the Center told me that my Prius DID need to be fixed under the recall notice.The Rep. at the Toyota Center put me on hold while contacting Colonial Toyota and ten minutes later told me he had informed Colonial Toyota that my Prius was covered under the recall. The Rep. then connected me back with the Colonial Agent who I spoke to earlier. The agent apologized and set up an appointment for Tuesday, August 25, 2020. I received several texts and emails reminding me of my appointment, I arrived at Colonial Toyota only to be told that they did not have a technician on duty who could fix my Prius. The tech was only available on Fridays. So no one knew this until I arrived at the dealership? I had gone through the trouble of inconveniencing someone to pick me up and later to be dropped off.Now I have to continue to drive an unsafe vehicle and reschedule an appointment. But, it will not be with Colonial Toyota of Smithfield, RI.Well it has been over a week since Colonial Toyota of Smithfield responded to this review saying someone would contact me. So far I have not heard a word from them. I assume their response was an automatic make it look good response. They dont seem to care that I am riding in a Toyota that has a safety recall that could result in a crash.
This was the last straw for me and Toyota. This dealership is completely and utterly unprofessional.Back in 2017 I leased a car through another large Toyota dealership and had a horrible experience. After a few days of owning the car, it started to give me issues so I took it to Toyota of Smithfield. Had a great experience with them and when it came time to decide what to do with my lease purchase, I decided to go through Toyota of Smithfield. That was a mistake.I started the process of trying to purchase my vehicle 2 1/2 weeks ago and have decided to take my business elsewhere. The sales associate Bryan was nice and really seemed interested in helping me. He gave me his personal number and connected me with the finance manager Nicole. I was asked to fill out a credit application and submit it. After I filled out the application, I was told I would be contacted my Nicole and was to await her call. She called and not only was she extremely short, she kept pressuring me to certify the vehicle and told me that they needed to perform a “Safety Check” before they could run any numbers.I called TFS and was told that each dealer has their own set of rules. I took the car in for a Safety Check and was told she would handle it from here. 2 days pass and I heard nothing. Called and was told I needed to fill out another credit application. I did and then radio silence, no communication, nothing. Another few days go by and I get an alert that my credit had 2 new inquiries, both from Toyota of Smithfield.So to add insult to injury, I haven’t heard a word from the salesperson or the finance manager. After multiple calls, emails and text messages, nothing. This is the last straw for me, Toyota makes an amazing product but the hassle of what it takes to get one isn’t worth it. Not only did this dealership hurt my credit, but they also were completely unprofessional. Save your time and your energy and go somewhere far from here.

I have been bringing my vehicle here for service for almost 8 years, back when this was Colonial Toyota. I was skeptical at first because bringing a car to a dealer, you usually pay more and get a salesman more than someone who cares about your car, but I found that to be the exact opposite, as I was always treated fairly, with respect and never tried to be up sold anything that I didn’t need for my car. As a result, I’ve kept returning because they have kept my car in great shape.In the past couple of years, this place has really gone downhill. I don’t know if it’s because they’ve changed to Toyota of Smithfield, if they are under new ownership or management, but now I’m finding that I’m getting more of the dealership experience that I was dreading when I first came here.The service advisors are more salesman, the wait times are ridiculously long, and the customer service experience is definitely no longer to my liking. The last time I was in, I came for an oil change and they recommended several services that I didn’t need, including a tuneup, check for oil leaks, four wheel alignment, and four new tires. Since I wasn’t planning on these services financially, I declined them and for the past several months between oil changes have driven my car without incident. I came back recently for my next oil change, and was told it would only be a couple of hours, so They got me an Uber back to my home. A couple of hours later, the service advisor called and told me they needed to replace a belt, to which I said okay. Long story short he called me a bunch of times and new problems kept popping up, which resulted in them having to keep my car, because everything was all “taken apart“ and I wound up being without a car for two full days. Side note: none of those previous issues were ever brought up that I apparently “needed” at my last appointment. Pretty interesting right? At the time, I did not know that the previous program that existed for loaner cars was discontinued, and even though I asked about it, the service advisor never told me this, nor offered me anything other than telling me I could rent a car, which I found appalling, seeing as I was going in for a simple oil change and now I was without my car, and had to miss doing a days worth of tasks, and a day of work because of these “last-minute issues.“ You would think they would offer more to a loyal, long time customer, who has spent thousands of dollars there over the years, but no.To add insult to injury, every time I called to check up on my status, the advisor was “unavailable“ to speak and my concerns seemed to be ignored, as everyone I spoke to had the obvious tone in their voice that I was a nuisance to them. When I went in the next day to pick up my car, I waited almost 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me, and then paid $800 for these repairs, when I was only planning on spending $70. Looks like they found a way to get that money from me, one way or the other.I understand businesses get busy, businesses are shorthanded these days, unexpected things happen etc., but knowing the experience that I used to have versus how I was treated now, like I wasn’t even important or it didn’t even matter, it makes me extremely disappointed. I don’t mind putting money into my car, or getting work done that it needs, but I now feel that whatever they tell me here, it’s not genuine, and can’t trust their opinion anymore. After this experience, I have decided to end my eight year relationship with this business, I will not be returning for service, buying my next vehicle here or recommending Toyota of Smithfield to anyone any longer.

I came in on Sunday looking for a new car, I had no idea where to start or what the process would be like considering this was my first big purchase. Nick Cabrera went above and beyond! He helped me find the best car for my budget, and something that fit all my needs. Nick was very friendly and informative and was able to answer every question I had. We have been looking for a new highlander for about a month. Our experience at Toyota Smithfield has been great from beginning to end. Our salesperson was Derek. He is exceptional! Great customer service skills. Pleasant, knowledgeable and accommodating. We decided to purchase at this specific franchise because of Derek. We have met other good sales people at other Toyota places over the past month but Dereks personality and level of enthusiasm compelled us to buy here at Toyota Smithfield. Buying a car is not always easy and can be time consuming but the staff at Toyota Smithfield streamlined the process for us. Besides Derek I want to acknowledge Nicole the finance manager. She is extremely efficient with her job and helped us navigate some changes late in the process. We really appreciated her patience. We love our new Highlander and recommend Toyota of Smithfield (and especially Derek!) to anyone looking for a new vehicle. 😊
They say the process of purchasing a new car can be dreadful but I had the total opposite experience at Toyota of Smithfield. The first time I went I decided to finance a car. It was a difficult decision for me as I had never had a car payment. The sales gentleman, Victor Jimenez, put my mind at ease. He explained everything in great deal without any pressure. All of my questions were answered and it was a smooth and stress free process. My second encounter with Toyota of Smithfield was when I decided to trade in my car and change to leasing. The transition was seamless. The paperwork was done quickly and they even helped me update my car insurance with the new lease. The salesman Ronnie, went through every feature of the car with me and allowed me to ask questions. Lastly, the service department is great. They do good work in an acceptable amount of time. They give accurate time estimates and your car is usually done when they say it will be. I had the pleasure of working with Rafael the service advisor. Again, he explained in detail what needed to be done and continuously asked if I had any questions. I waited for my car so once some time went by he would check in with me and would ask if I needed anything. In conclusion, I have only had positive experiences at Toyota of Smithfield. The staff is super friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I have referred some friends and family members and they have the same positive experience I have had.
