First I wanna start by saying the people are very kind, and their store is kept very clean and sanitized but my acrylic nails came out very thick and not even. I had lumps on one of my nails from the acrylic and the gel peeled off in the matter of a week. My pedicure wasn’t bad at all, I just won’t return

They were so kind & caring. My feet are swollen up from pregnancy and the lady was very gentle and soft while doing my pedicure. I had dipped nails and I wanted them off. Decided to go gel nice and simple. He told me you don’t need long nails you could hurt the babies which I thought was very caring. They cleaned up after every person when they left which I felt was protecting all of us. They were supposed to close at 6:30 pm but finished me up at 7 didn’t feel rushed at all! Great job!❤️

I treated my mom to a mani n pedi, and her big toe became very infected. When she called they played her off. When i know she had not been anywhere to get a pedi n over 6 months if not longer

My friend decided this would be a good shop to try because it’s close and convenient. The man put a PILE of acrylic on my nails and when I asked him to make them thinner he told me no this is how he does it. My friend tipped 10 dollars and the lady said what about for them? Referring to the lady doing someone else’s pedicure. She asked why the lady did not do any services for her and the nail tech told my friend she was wrong and rude for not tipping the woman. We will never return again. Not to mention both of our nails started coming off a few days later and were not even remotely close to what either of us wanted. Rude. Disrespectful. And bad quality was all that was received.

I went in to get a fill & polish change (I got the original set somewhere else) and she filed the nails crooked & then applied the polish crooked for the tips, and the tips are uneven lengths. when i asked her to make the tip smaller, she said she couldn’t. I had to get a polish change at a different place because i refused to let her work on my nails anymore.

My first experience getting acrylics was fun! But the end result was crooked nails before my wedding! I had to file and reshape them to look straight...and my ring finger was not smooth, it came out wavy :( great people to spend a couple hours with, but not a great product in the end

Seemed to rush through it and now my friends nails all broke in less then a week. I went here recently and wasnt very pleased. Maybe you can help my friend though she wanted her nails done for mothers day, and now she cant afford to. Could you redo your mistake? She got powered.

I have gone to Pretty Nails on Shawnee Mission Parkway for over 14 years. I tried 3 other salons in that time for either convenience or just following someone elses recommendation- but always come back. Every time I go I get professional service that meets my expectations from a group of calm, well trained and supportive staff.Some of these negative reviews you have read on here today are the typical Karen types who wanted a service the salon doesnt offer or expected a set of nails to last longer than 2 weeks with a fill. Thats not how this works folks. As a business they have the right to chose what services they offer, and who they offer them too. The husband/wife team who own and run the shop recognize the types of customers who are looking for a way to get discounted or free services - they are a small business supporting their family and contributing back to their community - why should they tolerate whiney customers who make loud scenes in a very calm and quiet environment with loud personal phone calls, swearing, letting their kids run around the shop dropping nail polish bottles and knocking over carts, letting their kids paint their own nails with the salons polish on the clean chairs other paying customers need to sit at - and the staff, who are busy as heck trying to care for their guests cant focus because these customers expect free babysitting for their isnt he/she so cute lil Johnny or Jill 🙄 And by the way- polish changes mean using a dremmil to remove old polish, buffing the nails smooth again, and repeating the clear/color/color/clear process again - time consuming and certainly not free because you dont like the color you picked 4 days ago. I swear folks, in 14 years I have seen and heard it ALL.I have never seen anyone use dirty tools. They disinfect everything from pedi bowls to chairs after each customer. They take the covid guidelines VERY SERIOUSLY. I appreciate that - it shows respect for customers and staff.I will never go to another nail salon in the Kansas City area as long as Pretty Nails in Shawnee is open.

This is the only place I’ve found that actually gives me what I ask for! The lady takes her time and shapes my nails to perfection! Really happy here and I’m so glad I found a place that gives me what I ask for instead of nodding yes and then doing the opposite 😁

I went here because it was close to my house, I thought I would give them a try. I got there and they werent busy, the guy who did my nails rushed through them, applied the thinest layer of acrylic possible and now here I am almost a week later and most of my nails are lifting up and ready to come off. It feels like money down the drain. Very frustrating. I will not be back and I wouldnt recommend them to anyone!

They let my bridal party take over and pop champagne! Very catering to each of my girls, good prices!! Will return. Also I got gel French tips, two weeks later still on and looking great!

Ive been going here for over 3 years. Ive never had a problem with the quality of their work. Their prices are reasonable. I usually get a pedicure and manicure, gel polish French tip, and it has always been exceptionally well done.

The nail salon I used to use closed, so I decided to try this salon as a few others I tried in the area were disappointing. I really like this salon!!! Today was my fourth visit for a pedicure. I honestly let my feet go over the winter, and after today they were as good as new. The tech went the extra step of using a callous remover lotion and tool at no extra cost. The one thing I really like is that they always ask you if you like the color you chose after painting one toe Sometimes the color looks better in the bottle than on your feet! Very clean salon, very nice people working there. Very reasonable price for a pedi $35.

They do a great job on nails, although they are very busy. Usually a wait. Not too friendly, but tolerable. No small talk. Ive been going for about six months.. Only one person can do coffin shaped nails which sucks as I get stuck waiting for this one person. But nails always turn out beautiful and last.

Came here because another place was busy. You get what you pay for. None of the tools they used were clean. She got gel polish all over my skin that I’m picking off at home.Also, PSA to all nail techs: lay off me about having short nails. I like them short and will always keep them short. Stop trying to convince me to grow them!

I had a wonderful time today at Pretty Nails, the nail tech convinced me to do a mani/pedi and I don’t regret it! (I really needed it!) The atmosphere is so calming, I’m definitely coming back!

I went in with a picture on how I wanted my nails. It was very simple the man seemed very annoyed with me, didnt do at all what I wanted. I wanted white nails with colored dots on the top. Left with black nails and white dots. Also they dont massage your hands after? Seemed very rude and rushed the whole thing. In other words if you want any design I wouldnt bother going there for it.

Horrible! Took my daughter here for her birthday because we were in the neighborhood. They did a horrible nail job. $45 for a full set and gel polish. The nails look like big bubbles on top of her fingers!!! And nail polish on the sides.. didn’t even take it off her skin!! I’ve never seen such a bad nail job! That was our first time going there and it will be our LAST! Should have gone to my normal nail salon, I’ll never make that mistake again.

I got my nails done about 2 weeks ago and when I went in they were rude and told me that they couldn’t do “ Coffin” Shape. And I thought to myself like what kind of nail shop can’t do coffin do I said okay and went with it because I wanted my nails done and wanted to try a place close to my boyfriend. So the whole time the lady was doing my nails she applied the thickest layer of acrylic ever and she got it all on the sides of my nails and the polish also and when I asked her to get it off she was rude. It’s just a horrible place it’s Unclean, Rude people, I seen what I thought to be the manager asleep. And I will never go here again not to mention it tore off my real nail.

Went for the first time Saturday night was the only one in there so I expected them to take their time but I was wrong. Guy was nice but seemed very rushed put a very thin layer of acrylic powder on my nails. It is now Wednesday and just today broke two nails and one is barely on very disappointed and will not be recommending this place to any of my girl friends.

I do not even want to give them 1 star. i went in for the first time last Wednesday to get a full set and my daughter got a manicure. her nails came out pretty but the polish lasted less than a week. the man who did my nail only said hello and goodbye. they were not friendly i paid $40 and as of today i have loss two nails my full set did not even last 7days which is absurb and disappointing especially since Ive been getting my nails done for nearly 20 years. i will never return to this place even if they afford to give me it for free. to other customers dont waste your time nor money.

I came in at 12:30 today. The place was empty found who I believe the store manager taking a nap leaning against the front window. A lady from the back came to help me. They didnt not put bags in basins for sanitation reasons. As I trying to relax I watched 2 other employees take naps while they waited. They should have been dusting and cleaning the location. Im appalled at the what they think is professional. I should have ran but now I will not go again.

I wanted to treat my granddaughter to a pedi and spend quality grandmother/granddaughter time. The ENTIRE time we were there we had to witness constant babbling/arguing between three of the techs, the two doing our pedis and one completely across the room from them. They seemed to be fighting with each other, in THEIR language, of course, so we couldnt understand them. They actually acted angry that we were there! I gave a $5 tip (shouldnt have given anything) and the tech that checked me out actually made a RUDE comment about the tip. Unsanitary conditions and RUDE people. Will not go back!

This place would get no starts if it was up to me. I paid 45.00 for my full set and toes to be done. I had to return 4 days later for a polish change. They said the polish shouldnt need changed and said its an 1 hour wait. There was no one in the shop as far as customers they didnt want my business.

Sorry to say I will not go back. I typically would not even write a review but I have never in my life been to a place that cuts corners so much and expected the price they charged. I went in for a mani & pedi; and for my pedicure the woman was so rude and literally was tapping my toenails with her tools and not even using them. I had to stop her several times to remind her if she was actually using the tools and maybe she should stop talking to her co-worker and concentrate. Still after several times of reminding her she still was skipping toenails and I had to complete the top coat polish job on my own once I got home. The gentleman that did may manicure was better but again the polish didnt look all that complete. I will stick to my usual place next time.

I would give no stars if i could.I came in and asked for pink fill and showed my nails. They said they have the product. Later, after service already started, I notice they do not have the right product. It was not a dark enough pink, so you can see my fill line. They shouldnt have misled about that.He didnt prep my nails good enough, the line should have been blended better.Also, he rushed through the fill, less than 5 min on acrylic application, just to get it super thick and spend 3 times as long on filing...and he filed too much taking off some of my previous service, basically ruining my previous pink and whites ($65).Also their implements were not clean! You can see dust and debris on the files, drill bits, and buffers. They were obviously not cleaned after the previous service.And there was an employee sleeping on a pedicure throne!No menu was posted and i was charged $25 for a pink fill. They are a discount salon, so i kno i was overcharged.They had the nerve to talk about me when i left because i didnt leave a tip. they are lucky that i even paid at all...i shouldnt have.

BEWARE. This place does not sterilize their equipment and they are extremely rude. I witnessed them yelling at a client this weekend, and then I ran out before they could work on me when I saw them transferring cuticle nippers between customers without sanitizing in between. I was so glad I was still waiting and had a chance to see their dirty practices. Stay away if you care about the health of your hands, feet, and nails.

Extremely clean very nice people

Got a pedicure and manicure done yesterday. My nails are uneven, paint already chipping and no cuticles were removed. They were rushed to get us out of the shop and did not care what our nails looked like! I would not recommend!!!

Made me wait 20 min for someone to come in then told me he didnt know how to do coffin nails OR pointed nails!!! What kind of nail place is this?! I left and will NEVER be back
