I love this place. The staff is always friendly and they do a great job. My bridal party and I went there this morning for 5 pedicures and 2 manicures and we were done in 60-90 minutes but our nails look amazing and not rushed!

This place is a good to go to if youre in a pinch. They rush through their work to get you in and out as quickly as possible. Ive called a couple times to make an appointment and they tell me to come up immediately and then either cant get me in or dont prioritize me and I end up leaving with no service done. They also are not helpful if i need a gel or dip taken off but dont want a replacement.

First time here. Joe did my pedicure and he did an awesome job. Works definitely go back and ask for him. 💅 price was great also.

Love First Star!! They can always get me in immediately and every person I’ve had is super friendly! Willing to chit chat if you want, but will also just leave you be to relax. Their rates are comparable to those in the area. Stop in, you won’t be disappointed!

Given a few tries since it’s close but always disappointed in long wait times even after calling ahead to make appointments. Way too long services with horrible quality, and they are just rude.

Not only do they do a great job but they are very accommodating to fit you in same day. The salon is clean and the prices are very reasonable. I do not live close to this salon but am happy to make the drive, they are worth it!

It was my first time trying this place and Im glad I did. I got my nails gel filled and they cost less than any other place Ive been to, plus they did a very good job. Although its not the prettiest, the people there brighten it up and make the whole experience really nice. I will definitely be going back in two weeks.

I will never go anywhere else! I live in Lees Summit, but I make the drive to First Star because it is the BEST! It is clean, friendly, and very competitively priced. Everyone smiles and works efficiently, yet thoroughly.Last weekend, I needed a new full set of acrylic tips. The old ones had to be removed, and I was kind of worried it would hurt. Linh was great, though! She does fantastic work, and listens to what the customer wants. I highly recommend this salon!

Can’t say enough about how nice everyone is and what a great job they do! My mother deals with a movement disorder and they go out of their way to accommodate her each time. Anyone I see there does an excellent job with my nails also. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Ive been going there for a few months. I always get the gel French nails. My nails are always beautiful I get so many compliments on my nails. Everyone there is friendly and does a good job.

Charged my fiance 45 for a French tip. Then when she called less then a week later she told her on the phone that a fill was 25 and a french tip was 35. Complete robbery. My fiance refuses to post this so i did for her out of fear if she goes back. This company is unethical and practices are a shame. My fiance didnt get her nails done very much so they took advantage of her and she even tipped them 5. So they screwed us out of 15 dollars.

I love this place. I have been going here for about three years and though I rarely get my nails done I only get them done here. The people that work here have always been kind, honest, and great at what they do. They stick to fairly basic designs, but focus more on giving a clean and well done mani/pedi.Their practices as well as the establishment are all extremely sanitary. I usually call ahead just to notify them and they have always kept their scheduled time for me available. The people here are always so nice and friendly so I always enjoy my time here with casual conversation rather than awkward silence. I have strayed and have had gels, pedis, and dip powder done at surrounding locations and I always regret it.

I’ve been to several nail salons in Shawnee over the years. My neighbor recommended I try this one. I’ve been several times now and none of them beat First Star when it comes to consistent quality and customer service.

Boy did they see us coming ... we emphasized that we did NOT want gel polish, just regular nail polish for two G-Daughters (... not much nail to polish to begin with). I was charged $20/G-Daughter ... JUST POLISH ... no manicure; no gel. Silly me, I paid it ... plus gratuity!!! (After leaving the shop, the young man polishing my youngest G-Daughters nails had cut into her skin beyond the cuticle.) After we met my third G-Daughter for lunch, we all went back to First Star Nail for her nails to be polished. The staff directed her to different color selection ... not until I paid for her nails being polished for $8 ... I asked why the huge difference in cost (they were ALL on their cellphones ... they informed me ... we asked for gel earlier ... SERIOUSLY!!!! NOR ARE THE SELECTIONS AT THE FRONT COUNTER MARKED GEL ... POOR, POOR BUSINESS ETHIC!!!!! They got our money once ... N*E*V*E*R* AGAIN!!!
