My experience with a haircut is a story of pain and hilarity, both inside and outside a barber or shop. It involves limited curiosity defeating some vanity.I had gotten a butchered haircut; I wont say where - I hate leaving bad reviews. I walked in early. I observed Naomi Dixon can cut short or long hair with skill and attention. I saw a man walk out with a balanced, precision cut, and she made sure he liked it before leaving. She fixed my rat pile of randomness, and I greatly appreciate it. I dont know if anyone will publish my short, it has God in it, but my Pastor would read it and laugh. Thats good enough. Gotta like Naomi.

You never have to sacrifice on either cost, speed or quality when you to see Rick at Acme Barbershop. It takes me a while to find a barber that meets my criteria when I move to a new city. Since I’ve had Rick cut my hair four years ago, I’ve never tried another barber since. I recommend him strongly.

Good Haircut. This is a professional barber. They listened to what i wanted and gave it to me. I am happy with the haircut. I would have ranked it a 5 star but they made me wait outside in the cold verses letting me sit inside. This is linked to COVID but they had plenty of room to have customers who have an appointment guaranteed by a credit card sit inside. I value safety. I also value customer service. They need to look at how other businesses are handling covid.

I was hesitant to go in to begin with since a simple cut costs $38, but it looked like they do a pretty good job so decided to give it a go. Knowing that they take walk-ins, I arrived and took a seat since all the barbers were busy. Nobody said hello or welcomed me or asked me to do anything, so I just sat down. I was the only person in the waiting area. About 15 minutes go by and another guy walks in. He walks past me and goes around a corner to an area where I cant see him. I figured hes a regular and probably has an appointment. But he came back a few seconds later and sat down. Okay, cool, hes waiting too. Well, soon enough, one of the barbers finished up and said goodbye to her client. Then she says, looking at me, Are you [name]? I say no, but the other guy speaks up and says that he is. She immediately takes him and starts working on him. In that moment, I realized he was also a walk-in! I went over to where I saw him go earlier, and thats when I noticed a walk-in sign-in chalkboard! It was out of plain view. So, right in front of both the barber and the guy who just sat in her chair (just a couple feet away), I wrote my name in chalk. Didnt faze either of them, knowing that I had been sitting there for a while already. Yes, instead of speaking up like an assertive person, I did just walk out at that point. So, two things, Acme:1. Put your chalkboard where it can actually be noticed by people who have never been there before!2. Welcome people as they walk in and make sure they know what to do. Its pretty basic customer service.None of that aloofness was worth $38, I dont care how good you are. I was willing to try it, but I wont be going back.

Pay attention, as of writing this review there are two Alyssa’s. My husband goes to the other and is also very happy for what it’s worth ;)Alyssa Monroe is very detailed and great to carry conversation with. Unless I love my barber I dread getting my hair cut. I also love getting my hair cut often. This is no longer a dilemma now that I have Alyssa.I have a wavy, wirey, thick head of hair and I like it to look well-faded and dapper. She is one of two barbers ever to take the time to understand a unique quirk of my hair that seemed to be impossible due to years of failed attempts by others.I truly adore her and hope she is well taken care of by the owners of this place and hope they understand her value!Thank you, Alyssa Monroe!!

Funny how I wrote a review on Yelp 2 weeks ago about a similar experience, but got no response but when someone else mentions the name of the barber then the owner actually responds. I had a pretty bad haircut here and had to go get it fixed at Rudys and wasnt offered a refund or for it to be fixed. Dont remember my barbers name. If Jeremy is a slightly heavier guy with a beard and yellow teeth then that was the same barber I overheard talking about his encounter with his client. Id also like to point out that there was also a lady(only one working at that time) swearing up down left and right as she was talking. I asked for the manager and was given blank stares even with the manager present now that I come to learn that. The owner needs to make it clear to his employees that this is a barbershop, not their local watering holes. While talking about sex acts with clients is ok if the client is all ears, I dont think its appropriate for others to have to unwillingly hear what he did the night before, and the swearing? We all swear I just dont expect it at a barber shop that charges 30+ for a haircut. I get that some clients may be friends too, and we should all be able to have a conversation with friends but again not everyone needs to be privy to that. According to the reviews on yelp and on here it doesnt seem like this is the place for children either. Not going to waste my time and money here anymore just wanted to warn people.

The man had pictures of all his regular customers throughout the ages, and when he passed I tried to find another place to get my haircut. I tried several places but it just didnt feel the same, but then one day I came to this barbershop and for some reason I got the same nostalgic feeling I once got in Russs barbershop and have made this place my main barbershop. They do good work and I thank them for cutting my hair just right.

I’ve gotten okay cuts here, but it’s overpriced. The inconsistency of the cuts should made them $20, like normal barber rates. You don’t get what you pay for here. I’m not sure if Salvatore is still working, but I recommend you avoid him. He’s moody and he takes out his personal problems on customers. The first couple of cuts were good. He even tried to get me connected with people in my industry, but no one ever called me. He took that out on me for some reason. After a few months of cuts, I felt so uncomfortable around him that I decided to go with mom and pop barber shops, which cost the normal rates. These high priced shops around Seattle aren’t worth it.

Instead of taking me, to which I showed up within the 10 mins since I had called. There is no parking for this location but street parking and paid lots blocks and blocks away. I had to pay for parking, ran 6 blocks to be there within the 10 mins. All to be told to F-off by the pretentious, underachieving, blasΓ© manager. I will never be back at this shop and since I own a coffee shop in SoDo, I’ll be sure to tell all the customers exactly where not to go. You could of had a loyal weekly customer but lost it and more, all because you couldn’t keep your word and wait the full 10 minutes. 9 my friends is not 10...and the walk-in was sat before that.
