Mark is the best barber in Seattle. He always takes his time, makes sure every cut is perfect and to your liking, and he always provides a professional and comfortable environment. If you are looking for a one time cut or a regular barber, he should be your go to.
Kojak was super friendly, he helped me figure out what style I wanted to go with and left me looking sharp. The new location is nice too.
Kojak was great! 5/5 haircut, 5/5 cleanliness, and great conversation.
Mark Stuebe: I highly recommend you book with Mark ASAP! This guy knows what it takes. Ive been getting a cut from Mark for years and every time I sit in the chair I always say open canvas because I look forward to different styles every cut. Not only hes an awesome barber! Hes also a cool guy!
Its a relaxing, friendly atmosphere. It was a lovely haircut. He gave me some good suggestions, but I let him do it because of his expertise. I was fascinated by the result. I looked so young, I looked so young. Gorgeous service!
First cut here today, also the most drastic cut in my adult life. Mark Stubbe did my hair, and I really like it. Going from long and shaggy to clipper short with a bit long... Is weird.Location is great, small, clean shop... And at the moment the cycle cafe next door has mulled wine for while you wait.
Yvey is THE BEST. I had been bouncing around to different stylists when I moved to Seattle, until I found Yvey. Five years later he’s still the only one I’ll let touch my hair. My husband, sister, and a few friends go to Yvey now too. He’s so good at cuts and color. If you bring him a picture of what you’re going for, he’s able to match it to perfection.
Im sure you can find a cheaper haircut in Seattle, but it wouldnt come close to the results youll get at The Scotch Pine. These guys are meticulous and pride themselves on a superior level of detail I havent seen elsewhere.
Truly a wonderful shop. Great staff, and great respect for the clients making sure things are safe in these trying times.
Great barbershop; David does a really amazing job and takes his time. Good conversation, good music but not an overwhelming ambience like some competitors in the neighborhood. Immediately after leaving I have been gettinf complimenta left and right on my haircut.Highly recommend for a really really good haircut and a pleasent barbershop experience!
Wonderful cuts and great people! Emily is an outstanding barber and is super knowledgeable. She helped me change my hair routine my first time there and I’m now a loyal customer. The rest of the crew has always been really personable and Kojak has also given me a great cut. It’s not a cheap place, but if you’re looking for a nice barbershop you can’t beat it.
We just moved here and I had the best hair cut I had for a long time in this barbershop. The barbers were also basketball fanatics as I do. We had so much fun expressing our likes with basketball. That was a great experience to welcome me here as I am new to the place. I was comfortable and relax with them. Thanks, guys!
Ive been getting my hair cut here for months through Kojak and hope to keep heading here for years to come! The barbers here have excellent character and personalities. Ive always sought out barbers who exude the hip look and cool personality I strive to have and I feel it every time from each of the barbers whenever I step into The Scotch Pine.
Hip spot for hair cuts, beard trims, and color. This spot is a bit pricey but you get quality service through and through. Its tucked inside the main building, youll need to go through the hallway to find it. If you have the money and are looking for a quality stylist youve come a good spot
I drive here from the Eastside to get a proper haircut 💥👌💥
Awesome spot. Great fun and excellent, consistent haircuts. Top notch value. Be sure to support local family businesses like this one who have been around for a long time.
Went in for a beard trim with Jason, and Im happy with the result. Not 3 hours after I walked out a stranger in a line complemented me on my beard. Additionally, Im not much of a talker and usually hate making small talk while I get a cut, but Jason just got to it efficiently and got me out quickly. If you do like to chat, the atmosphere of the shop was very casual, the barbers and customers were talking back and forth and telling jokes. Overall very good experience.
Been coming here for two years. Fantastic service, super friendly barbers, and outstanding haircuts every time. Cant recommend them enough.
TL;DR Hack Job. Ignored my direction. Removed far more hair than previously agreed.I walked in with almost 9 inch hair, having grown out my hair for a full year since a barber butchered it the last time I had it cut. I left with at most 3 inches of hair. I expressed how I required it to REMAIN long on the top so it could be combed back or to the side without the use of product. And that I wanted the sides shaved to the skin at the bottom, and fading up to the base of where it was to remain long. She asked if it was alright to remove some hair at the top, saying that she would have to. She even held up the amount, showing about 3 inches to be removed (leaving nearly 6 inches to style as I please). I agreed that was acceptable and that I understood the nessecity for doing so. I expressed that I couldnt wear product at work. And that I have had bad experiences in the past and thats why I had grown it out so long, so that the same mistake of it being cut too short wouldnt be repeated. This all being established, at some point she started blending the length to the sides, cutting it much shorter than previously agreed. When I tried to ask her afterwards, about where the misunderstanding in terminology mustve occurred, she became defensive and said that she was just trying to work with what she had (9 inches? Really?) And shape my hair. Anyone who has had such long hair, knows how much time and effort went into growing it. And would understand that when you say you wish it to remain long, you mean long. Not barely 3 inches.
Great folks, Emily is a total pro.
Great haircut and stylish spot. The barbers really care about their customers and make sure to fully understand what you want. Highly recommend.
One of the best shops in Seattle. Parking is a little rough (paid street only) and barbers book out in advance so make an appointment online. Been going to see Jared for over a year and hes incredible. All of the barbers are super fun and great to talk to while getting a cut.
I’ve been working with Jared Brown and Mark Stuebe for years and both of those dudes are masters of their craft. I have a very unique hair texture and a lot of places could never really work with it but they always get my hair perfectly faded. These guys cut so good that my hair looks great even after weeks of it growing out.The vibe is cool, everyone is friendly and there’s always chill banter between everyone (patrons and professionals). I can’t recommend this place highly enough.
Never walk away dissatisfied. The prices are not cheap but I think they are fair for the quality and service you get.
Paul has been cutting my hair for a few years now and he’s by far the best barber I’ve ever been to. The shop is clean, exciting, and has a great vibe. Highly recommend this place and any barber in the shop. Everyone who leaves looks fantastic!
I moved to Capitol Hill in May of 2019 and have been coming in about once a month since then. I’ve always had a good experience with Emily and the rest of the staff until my last experience.I had a very large beard and needed it to be short and professional for job interviews. My barber Ben Taylor did not use scissors on my beard once, did not ever lean my chair back once, and proceeded to give me what is arguably the worst beard cut I’ve ever experienced in my life. It was not cut evenly or lined up properly and I left looking less professional than I did when I had an 8 inch beard coming off my chin. I eventually had to buy a beard trimmer after I left to fix it myself. When he cut my hair I felt like he was taking too much off to which he replied that he was not, then when we finished I expressed that what he had done was not what I had in mind and his response was to tell me I should get better at explaining what I want, and it might not be what I want but it’s what I got, then rushed me out of his chair.Never in my life have I had such a terrible experience with a barber before. Every other experience there was great but after this I will never go back, or recommend this place to anyone.
Fun atmosphere. Lots of personality in that room. But the focus is still on the quality of the cut. They listened well and I came away with a look Im happy with.
Attentive barbers. Cam is fantastic. Highly recommend him
Pricey, but you get what you pay for. Theyre a fun group and I got a great cut today from Tracy Guzikowski based on a rather vague description of what I wanted - I briefly showed her a prior selfie of mine, said I wanted something similar but shorter, and she improvised the rest. The result was better than I expected!
I really gave this place a shot and benefit of the doubt with 3 separate times there. First cut was a little off and I came in to ask for a small correction. Amy treated the instance as a huge bother for her, but I thought maybe she was just having a bad day. However next time I returned she was just as unfriendly, that it almost seemed retaliatory. Bad customer service and mediocre cut to begin with.. not worth the upcharge for this place.
Everyone at this barbershop is great, so you cant really go wrong with whoever you choose. Its a nice atmosphere too. I would definitely recommend them!
I have tried all the high end barbershops in the area and Scotch Pine beats them all. The location, service, personalities and quality here are unmatched. This is by far the best value you will get. Get here while you can before the word gets out, trust me. Perfect cuts, great management and staff and the best experience you will get in the area.
The greatest experience. This place wins all the points for aesthetics alone. Tucked away in a sunny corner of the courtyard, the wood-and-mirrors hair studio is actually a really comfortable environment just to be in. The staff are friendly but authentic, very chill with lots of banter back and forth. I wouldve felt comfortable trusting my hair to any of the staff that day. As it was, Trent killed it. He looked at a picture on my phone, made a few notes about the way my hair grows and looks, then went to work. Ended up with something simple and classic while feeling extremely unique-to-me that will also probably fill in wonderfully. Trent even managed to fit me in for an unscheduled beard trim which was just plain kind on his part. The cost is a little high in comparison to other cities standard prices, but was totally worth it to me for a once-off, memorable experience.
A cool looking barber shop.. airy..lots of light located inside a nice complex of local business and restaurant/bar between 11 & 12 streets. There are 8 great barbers and the Dog. Check them out..book appointments on line. cash, credit and debit cards are accepted. The place is hopping, def make an appointment..
This place is by far the best around!!
I cant say much about how Scotch Pine measures up to other shops in Seattle because it was the first place I goty hair cut, and Im certain I wont go anywhere else. The staff is awesome, and my barber, Tommy is one of the best barbers Ive ever had. When I go there, I always know Ill leave feeling way more attractive than I am.
Hip spot for a mens haircut. Good atmosphere, and I always get a good trim.
Great barbers here, all with about 6+ years of experience. Its a definite step up in the cut quality. Has a great old school neighborhood barber shop vibe with everybody chatting and whatnot.
Visiting Seattle for a month. Found Scotch Pine on the net and made an appointment with Trent. He immediately got my cut and put it back into shape. Really relaxed and friendly place in an interesting part of town. A top address with a top chap. Going back next week for a revisit before I leave.
Best spot Ive found in Seattle so far. Chill spot, guaranteed to leave looking fresh.
So happy they are open and returned healthy.
The best cut and tapper I have had yet. See Jordan, she is awesome. I am very picky about my barbers. Super clean cut which is hard to find with my curly hair and weird cowlick. Ill be returning for sure.
I ran into Paul as he was closing the store one day when the scotch pine had just moved to this location. Id never heard of it before but we chatted for a bit and I decided to try them instead of Rudys for my next haircut. I made an appointment with him and he is now my go-to barber. He puts so much care into making sure your hair is cut with extreme attention to detail, and is so friendly you cant leave without a smile on your face. I highly recommend the scotch pine.
Had one of the best cuts of my life while visiting!!! Trent is the man!! I even had to interrupt the cut for a skype call with the kids as they went to bed and he was all cool with it and didnt miss a beat. The straight razor shave on the neck is hard to beat and he really did an amazing job with the cut! I HIGHLY recommend The Scotch Pine.
Great place for guys who want more than just a quick haircut. Lot of extra services and nice amenities. Staff is super friendly and professional.
A modern spin on the old barbershop feel. Interesting characters in the seats and cutting the hair. Youll always leave looking better than you entered.
Got a great haircut from the owner. Music needs to be turned down. Only negative thing about it.
I love this barber shop. Tren always has my back. Beware you might have to book in advance, but they are very professional about their work so its fine. They are also very friendly and have great music normally.
Great experience here. Baber was Mark a cool chill Philo/German guy. Listened too what I was after and gave a great cut. Fun conversation and let me know some great local spots to visit.
Awesome location, enjoyable atmosphere and really cool barbers; however, at $45, I feel it’s way overpriced. My usual place is $15, a free beer, and a better haircut.
Online booking with your preferred barber, location is fantastic, great vibes. Cam works magic and the whole shop makes you feel welcome and treated. Treat yourself.
Showed up looking like a back woods logger and left with a beard that was trimmed up properly also had a blast with everyone working at this place, if you want a place thats super chill and even more skilled at what they do then get up to see Scotch and Pine asap.
Brandon is amazing at what he does! Extremely professional and friendly! He listens to what you want and gets it done!
Pretty great spot. I have an undercut and asked for some specific things to be reshaped and they werent. Still an awesome cut though.
Appointment only, should be made clear in the description. Looks like a nice place
Love the vibes and the barbers know what they are doing.
Ive been going here to get a fade since they opened. Best place to get a haircut or a shave. Love this place and will keep going back! customer for life!!!!
Great service and exactly what you’d expect from a Seattle barbershop. The location is really good too.
Great shop with high energy and friendly folks. Ask for Jared for a great cut and beard trim.
Finally a place that can handle Asian hair. Good job Jason.
Awesome place! Emily is so good, and everyone there makes sure you leave with the haircut you want.
Fantastic place for a cut. Unfortunately seems to have a high turnover, so it’s a bit difficult to have a regular barber
Aint no better place to get a haircut in Seattle! Cam is the best in the business - and super fun
Great barber shop. Really feels like a good value. Fun place.
Fantastic. I highly recommend Beto.Shop recently went through a remodel. Really nice area inside and out
Best place in Seattle for a beard shave and haircut
I really like the hair stylist here but it is a tad overpriced. Im not saying I can get the same haircut at my last in international district for half the price but I usually come out a little bit more pleased with the value and time spent.
Rustic feel, quality barbers, and good conversation. I go here regularly, and Ive always had good vibes from the people.
Very friendly and competent barbers. Great location.
I used to come here and Collin was my barber. I decided to stop because he was consistently late to our appointments and once called me day of to cancel an appointment but would charge me if I canceled the day of too. Unfair treatment.
Best barbers in Seattle.
Love this place. Queer-friendly. All hair types.
Great haircuts but it is tough to get an appointment
Chill atmosphere good barbers and I love Larry (the dog)
Very friendly and talented staff here! Just got my first haircut here and will definitley be going back!
Justin did a great job cutting my hair. Couldn’t be more happy to a first cut from barber.
New regular. Conversation and craft on point.
I walked in with no idea of what I wanted my hair to look like, and I walked out a dashing man. Jordan does excellent work.
Trent is an amazing barber. He takes his time and does a fantastic job.
Best shop in seattle. super friendly, everyone is great at their job, and easy scheduling. i go to trent and he is prime.
The haircut was decent, but I dont think it was worth the price.
Really talented barbers and a cool shop!
Awesome barbers and fantastic vibes...feels like home.
Fantastic trendy barber shop with a good group of highly skilled proffesionals that can do about any cut imaginable. Kind of place where you see everything from business men to punk rockers.
My go to for a great haircut and/or beard trim!
Fantastic barber shop. Lindsay was amazing.
Great Barbershop!! Friendly staff, a great cut, and a complimentary beer! Cant beat it.
Great barber shop.
Best barbershop in town! Friendly staff and great haircuts.
The best place for a mens haircut in Seattle, hands down.
Ok haircut if you can stand their arrogance. Their late policy is unfair. Once I waited for 25 mins for my appointment while the barber was happily chatting with the precious customer without sense of urgency. This time when i booked an early morning appointment but was stuck in terrible morning traffic, Trent Magnano called me you are past 10mins late, and i cannot take your appointment. Because my time is valuable you will need to pay the missed appointment next time. Ridiculous logic.
Emily is the best. My husband has been seeing her since their old location.
Great haircut. No complaints.
Thorough, dedicated stylists that spend the extra time to get it right. Come in prepared to talk and interact with everyone there.
Beto is a good guy who is dedicated to his work.
Finally a place that doesnt give me crippling social anxiety. Also they really know what theyre doing.
Exceptionally friendly staff
Chill vibe, good cut.
Great barbers! Trent is the man.
David was wonderful.
