They pretty much have no security officers. There was a break in and vandalism streak in the garage for about 2 weeks (ancient security cameras of course). A lot of cars broken into, including mine so dont leave anything in your car. Safety feels a bit iffy at this place. Front desk person kinda grumpy. Also pet rent is a thing in Seattle but $45 per animal on top of a pet deposit is weird considering 2 cats are really no different than 1 and we are not taking up more space so its a bit unjustifiable. Also no aggressive breeds of dogs. Close your windows unless you want the fruit flies from downstairs to infest your place. No mosquito net to top it off. Laundry machines are old so you might have to run your machines a few times. Elevator takes forever during busy hours. Theres only 2 in the whole building. The maintenance guy is nice though.
Tower 801 has been a great living experience. Everything is newly renovated and the appliances run well. The staff has been absolutely amazing so far. David in the leasing office is always available to help with anything that I need. John in maintenance is always prompt and helpful. Its in a really nice location and most everything I could need is within walking distance. I chose Tower 801 for the location, but will stay for the staff and amazing view.
I have lived at Tower 801 since 2017. The location is perfect; convenient to many neighborhoods, public transit, restaurants, etc. The best part about living at Tower 801 is the people who work here in the front office. Summer, David, and Taylor are AMAZING! They are always quick to respond to anything that comes their way. They remember literally everyone who lives here (including their pets!) and always say hi when residents walk by. They help make this place a home! Thank you guys for all you do!
Me and my other half moved to tower801 from our homes for the first time in Seattle knowing nothing about the city or how to live on our own. The staff has made everything so easy and helped every step as they could helping us get our footing. Beautiful room and view couldn’t have asked for anything better.
Lived at Tower 801 for a year. The staff is fantastic - from the leasing office, to the maintenance team, to the janitorial folks. The location is great - super convenient to the downtown core, and Capital Hill. Short walk to the off leash dog park, too. The building is 50 years old, but has been nicely updated. The age does show in certain ways (elevators, windows) - which is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. The amenities are nice enough - pretty average for downtown. Loved having the little balcony off each room.
This place is a steal for the size, layout and location. I moved from NYC and researched apartment buildings for months ahead of time. I was immediately impressed with the layout and square footage compared to buildings in the area that are typically a junior one bed and closer to 500 sq ft. The building itself is a little older but my unit is updated with new appliances and modern fixtures. The balconies are also spacious and a nice touch.Ive only been here for about 4 months but so far Ive been really happy with my decision. Any maintenance requests are serviced within 24-48 hours (honestly Im not always available when they first stop by in 24 hours). I dont know many people here and with Covid it makes meeting people difficult but David and Summer are so friendly it definitely helps. The only negative is the outside white noise being traffic or nearby construction but I cant fault them for that, I picked the building/location and with the sliding glass door shut I dont notice it.I would recommend to anyone who asked.
We lived in this building for 10 years before relocating back to our home city. The location is fantastic; just on the edge of downtown where it’s a little safer and quieter, but still within blocks of everything. This building is older and the unrenovated units show their age (my reason for docking a star), but they do have electrical window air conditioning units (which is admittedly much appreciated in the summer). While the cost of living has increased substantially in Seattle over the decade we resided here, the rent increases were quite fair in regards to being in a city where there’s no such thing as rent control. Building ownership changed hands quite a few times over our residency as well, and the current team of Taylor and Axel are BY FAR the best! We never had any major problems, but anything minor that needed to be addressed was handled quickly and professionally by these two. They alone are worth a perfect rating.
Update: The response by the property manager below is dishonest. Im absolutely talking about Tower 801 located at 801 Pine Street in Seattle, and he is fully aware of the domestic violence situation.I actually loved my apartment but I couldnt stand to live there anymore due to a domestic violence situation that the management did not want to address. Myself and two other units on the same floor vacated all within 30 days due to the problem going unaddressed. The issue was brought to managements attention but they would not take action. The best they would offer is that if they were being loud past 10 pm security could stop by and tell them to be quiet. Of course domestic violence doesnt happen just during quiet hours and telling someone to be quiet does not help anything. When another resident asked why management wouldnt take action they said it wasnt in their domain but that person was welcome to call police. I think just because its not something you have to do doesnt mean you just sit there and twiddle your thumbs. Management should do something. Its horrible to hear. There is screaming, crying, and stuff being thrown around. So glad I left that environment. I hope that couple gets the help that they need and that management raises their own bar. Im happy where Im at now.
The location is great and accessible. I had a really good experience with the management staff and their response rate to the service requests and any other help. I would definitely recommend this potential residents.
When we chose to make Tower 801 our home four years ago, it was one of the best decisions we have made. The circular design of the property is built for views and the floor plans are unlike most any other. The location is ideal to take in the best of downtown Seattle. We have found the staff to be exceptional to work with. Taylor, Axel and John are the best team yet. John completed work in our unit today that demonstrated excellent craftsmanship. This is not the newest building in downtown Seattle and it can show signs of aging once in a while just like the rest of us. I commend the Avenue 5 team for putting on socials and trying to create community, taking pride in evolving our building as much as is possible, and doing the best they can to honor, within reason, the diverse community that call Tower 801 home.
Perfect location, price and amenities. The management is super nice, compared to the others I have met and experienced around Seattle. The rent cost and utilities fits most budgets. Friendly faces and I feel safe living there.I would recommend it to all my friends.
I love this place, perfect location, good price and responsive service. Been here almost 1 year already.
I absolutely love living here! Its a prime downtown location, with cool funky layouts and awesome views! The staff is incredibly personable and friendly. The maintenance team is proactive and complete work orders in timely fashion. Very happy living here!
PRO:The management team is very helping, especially the current manager Axel. Questions on the house or utils usually can be answered in very short time through email or phones.House is spacious (1 br), interiors are new and well designed, good layout.Location, this place is close to my work, I also have walking distance to good restaurants, cinemas, theaters, play fields, shopping area, etc.Transit, bus station and metro are both in walking distance.Parking is $200+ but this is normal in downtown.CON:Noise is quite an issue in downtown, especially with the sliding windows I can hear some noises from the street (sirens, race car engines, drunk people singing on Wednesday/Friday night - this becomes a routine show to me).
Partyboy769 helped me find a amazing apartment. I couldn’t be happier in my new home. They only downside is that he rushes with glaz and leaves the rest of us hung out to dry.
Call boxes havent worked for a year. usually only one elevator is working - which makes for a ten minute wait... the new batch of property managers have really let this place go down hill. Dumpsters always overflowing. Terribly rude and unhelpful people manning the desk. For what these people are trying to charge you can find something far, far better with better amenities.Cute reply: the elevators are broken all the time. this weekend for example or was it reserved all weekend in the middle of the night? this place is a nightmare.
Not a bad place to live for downtown. Its located right between downtown and capital hill. The apartments are pizza-shaped, which really utilizes the footprint of the apartment to its maximum, and you wont feel closed in.The downsides start with the elevators. There are only 2 for the building and while I lived there I was constantly waiting on them. Plus one of the elevators would routinely be locked down either for maintenance or reserved for another reason. The water temperature was a big issue while I lived there. There were ongoing problems with the broiler. It needed to be replaced but the management just kept doing temporary fixes.Halfway through my lease the building was sold and went under new management. The old management was super friendly and helpful but I was very disappointed with the new management. They were very rude and contributed to my decision to leave. When I moved out I was surprised I wasnt charged any cleaning/painting/etc fees or damages. Which was great since I cleaned the place from top to bottom. With prior apartments Ive lived in when Ive moved out I was hit with all sorts of move out costs and fees. So it was a great experience to see Tower 801 didnt overcharge me at the end.
Its been a year now. We are enjoying our stay in the awesome location. Our appartment was one of the few renovated and we could grab a good deal. Happy with the services so far and the staff as well.
Very nice place to live. I would recommend it to others.
I would strongly advised everyone to think twice before moving to this apartment. I just terminated my lease with them due to relocation and I was billed with an extra $349.14 charges after forfeiting all the $600 deposit. The reason was carpet replacement which I didnt recall damaged/stained the carpet (by the way, only the bedroom was carpeted).Other than this, this apartment does not have individual meter and the residents of the same floor share the monthly utility bills etc. I lived here alone and every month, my utility bill hit $150 or more, which is double than my previous apartment, which I turned the air conditioner / heater all year round. The maintenance team appeared to be diligent in keeping the building in shape, however, it is a very challenging task considering the inherited problems due to an aged building. Please expect constant elevator break down, no hot supply throughout certain floors and units, and leaking at the lobby during rainy days, main entrance closure due to repair work, and homeless people screaming at your balcony throughout the nights. Hereby attached the move out statement for your reference, search for Other Reimbursed Cost that you never understand why, and they are using a system where you need to extra $1 for making online rental payment per transaction. Think twice!
The location is the only positive. The staff is AWFUL! Stacy (the PM) and Maverick (building maintenance) make for a nightmarish team that specializes in making tenant life miserable. They don’t respond to work orders, they treat tenants like cattle, even getting into yelling matches with tenants in the lobby. There’s only 2 elevators in the building, and on the off chance they are both working, staff will inevitably lock one just for their own use throughout the day, leaving all tenants of a 25 story building to 1 elevator, or the stairs. The pool didn’t open until 2 weeks before the city mandated it be closed for the season due to poor maintenance. There are homeless that hang around, and IN, the building 24 hours a day. There’s no daily or nightly security, and car and storage unit break-ins are common. The staff has signed for, and lost, packages on several occasions. The $2k+ price tag on a 1 bedroom (600ish sq. ft.) is seriously overpriced for the poor quality units and the terrible management company, who will inevitably find new ways to make excuses for work they never intend on completing. Upside: location, and each unit has AC and balconies...so there’s that. Overall: 2 thumbs way down, and 0 stars if I could. Do yourself a favor and, for the same price, choose a newer, nicer building with a more professional staff. You’ll be happy you’re not at Tower 801!
It is very good in terms of location, but the property management will leave you with a bad taste. The floor above me got flooded, and that took a toll on my carpet and paint on the walls. They DID NOT FIX IT for 6 months. They waited until I ended my lease and moved out.I had two good years at this building, but Pinnacle Management doesnt hesitate to hide behind the rules to mooch some money off you.
This place has awesome balconies, and extremely updated apartments. Location is perfect as well!
Pretty good place to live. Everythings only few blocks away. Great management too. Never had a trouble
The management are professional and courteous and I recommend living here. It’s a great location and you’re only a short walk to puget sound.
This is a horrible apartment complex. They routinely shut off the hot water for days because theyre too cheap to buy a new boiler. They have a homeless break-in just about every week if not day. Cars are constantly being broken into in the basement. And to top it off? They had a flood and my stuff was ruined. Their fault, they even admitted in email. And guess what? They said my renters insurance had to pay. Well Geico said um thanks but no thanks, so now I have to take them to court. Do. NOT. Rent here!!!
This place wasn’t the best and wasn’t the worst. The location is hard to beat especially for the price(1800/1 bd, 2 years ago). The building is old and hasn’t been updated in a lot of core ways. The elevators are slow as molasses, the windows are thin, and the trash/recycling system isn’t ideal.HOWEVER, the apartments have a really cool layout that expands out to maximize the actual living areas. Also if your luck you can also get in on one of the updated units. Also on our way out I didn’t have any issues paying any BS cleaning fees or what not. However I did very detailed cleaning on my way out, and didn’t break anything or make holes in the walls.Definitely check this place out if you want the downtown location but are on a slight budget.
Update: Avenue5, company that menages the property gave my wife and I an e-mail to contact them regarding our complaints, so considering that, the new manager was very proactive in handling these complaints, and said he would waive the cleaning, painting and carpet cleaning fees I mentioned above. However, there were new sketchy Conservice charges( NOT from Conservice but from the building management) for water, electricity etc. added, never mentioned before, that also swallowed our security deposit, with a cute little passive aggressive note from the assistant manager about having our charge being handled by a collection agency if we dont pay another $70 on top of $1200 security deposit. They provided us with a sheet that explains the charges, which does point out that we were not charged electricity and water for the first 2 months, but inexplicably, we were never provided with a real bill from Conservice. So, beware.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I noticed that some reviewer said they werent charged any fees upon leaving the premises; To me, they kept adding extra charges they claimed would never charge us when I moved in and withheld my security deposit, never giving me a bill for anything after I explicitly requested it.Once the kitchen sink dropped in my apartment they glued it backwards, elevators always kept and broken, constant noise inside and outside, squeaky doors, cold comes through the old and outdated balcony doors and windows, which makes the already bad and old heating system even more useless. Prepare to have you electricity bill through the roof. Awful management. One time a homeless person came in and took a dump inside the building. Another time a wasted resident harassed me in the hallway. A week before moving out, our dishwasher broke and after scheduling a replacement at 8AM on a Saturday and on Sunday noon, no one bothered to let us know they would not be coming, deciding on their own they dont need to do it since I am moving next week. Lost packages several times, smelly and dirty building, overworked staff, all around awful experience.
I made the mistake of signing a lease without seeing the place because I was moving from Europe. Photos, videos and anything else you see online is misleading in a sense that its a high end building. Someone added today after 6 months that they recognize 3 employees who left 5 star reviews below (Maverik Burtch twice, Maria Iziquierdo) Other 2 people who left biased reviews working for the management company are Dani Graham and Christina Chisholm.
Started out cheap, then spiked the rent of a one bedroom by 200 bucks. Elevators were constantly out of service. Was in a renovated apartment, baseboard heating only, didnt work too well. They were positioned right below the sliding glass doors, so constantly caused excessive condensation and moldy windows. Floors were new, but certain boards werent even. Washing machine and dryer were the best thing I can say about the apartment. On move out day, the elevator that I reserved was out of service because of a failed safety inspection. I wasnt notified until I went down to ask them to set up the reservation. Had to get another uhaul at a later date and get it after move out.Pretty unsafe area. Lower floors beware, the alley always has drugged up ppl screaming until the weekend hours of the morning. And garbage pick up was normally very late, like 1AM sometimes. One time when I walked outside, crossed the street was punched in the stomach by a random guy, who then proceeded to punch 3 other people in the head, around 7pm. Also, daylight doesnt keep the druggies away, always saw people shooting up in the alley around noon. Sometimes saw cops covering up dead bodies around the convention center, all only within 2 years of living in the area. Also unsafe garage, in four separate incidents that Im actually aware of, my neighbors bike got stolen. My bike got the lock cut and stolen, there were actually a pile of cut locks when I came down to get it. My motorcycle got graffitied, then the graffiti guys broke many windows while prowling nice cars. And then the fourth incident was my car getting prowled. Theres only a camera at the elevator and at the entrance I was told, so I just got police cards every time. All this in a 200 dollar a month garage, per car.If you can make it work, good for you. These are just warnings, some people were happy there. The walls were pretty good at sound insulating, but the doors werent. The balconies were a nice touch but not very usable as I faced premiere on pine, and one of its occupants seemed to be really comfortable in his apartment with all the windows open. The building isnt very efficient so my electricity went over 100 bucks where at my new place, in the dead of winter, isnt even 50, and is 200 sq ft bigger.Edit: Also there are three 5 star reviews towards the bottom of the list from the employees around the time I left.
Great location and great staff!! One of the few high rise that have balconies...buiIding is older but nicely renovated!!
Good location, views, prices (considering downtown)
If you do have a dog, better not living with this place. They charge me 2000 dollars for move out. There are little scarch on refrigerator which is caused by when i cleaning my room before moveout. I clean with the dishwash sponge, and they said they need to replace the refrigerator. I need to pay 700+ for that. Thats okay, i made the scratch. I have nothing to say. However, because I have a dog, they said they need to replace bedroom carpet for 500+ for pet damage, there are dog urine on the carpet . The truth is, I never let my dog into my bedroom. And I said I am willing to do DNA test. They said they need to look at it and call me back. Wait for three days, never call me back. I called them finally and they said they already throw away the carpet. Theres no way to do DNA test. It is really interesting. With no honest, only want your money apartment. Nothing to say, dont ever never leave in this apartment!
We lived here a year ago, had a mostly negative experience but recently received a rental report stating we had 20 late notices (false) and that wed been asked to vacate (false, apartment 10E flooded with sewage twice in the last month of our 13 month lease and we decided to move)
Best location for the $$$$ convenient to everywhere
Good hotel
