My fiance and I moved into The Met Tower a little over 3 weeks ago and couldnt be happier. Yes, the building is beautiful with great amenities. And the terrace is a perfect place to be outside. Its centrally located, right in the middle of downtown. The building and surrounding area are full of different people in all different walks of life. However, the staff at Met Tower are why Im writing this review. All of these folks have gone above and beyond helping us out through the process of moving in. We chose to live at The Met sight unseen and got to exchange information with the staff promptly via email, text, phone, and even FaceTime. Everyone was always very positive and eager to help. I am still grateful for how smoothly everything went with the apartment and for making the decision to live here in the first place! *****
My wife and moved from Wisconsin to Seattle and stayed at the Met Tower for 2 years. We had planned on moving after 1 year but after Avenue 5 took over and made some improvements, we decided to stay. We needed more space or we might still be there today but we have nothing but nice things to say. Good/attentive team and maintenance staff. Beautiful apartments and facilities.
We looked at 15 places before deciding on Met Tower, and couldnt be happier with the decision. We really enjoyed working with Damyn and Angelica - they were so flexible with meeting our needs and prompt in responding to questions and concerns. Move in was easy and all the staff so friendly and helpful. It felt like home from day one. Actually better with all the great amenities.
We moved into Met Tower in March of 2021, into what we thought was a great looking unit, but little did we know that we were in for a straight up horrific experience. When we moved in, we realized immediately that the remote controlled blinds were not working properly in both the living room and the bedroom. I am sure I dont have to go into details about how much it compromises your privacy to have non functional blinds in your freaking bedroom. To make matters worse, there is an office building right by the window in question. We thought it was terrible emough that met Tower would not get something so basic and indispensable checked before leasing the unit put to unsuspecting residents, but prepare yourself for what I am about to tell you next. We complained about the blinds right away, and now its is the 27th of July ie 5 months since we have moved in, and they have done NOTHING to fix it, except performing an empty charade of visits to house to obtain measurements and the like. Apparently it took them 3 months to find out that they cannot find batteries for the automated blinds anywhere on the face of the planet, and then they promised that they would simply replace the automated blinds with normal ones. I assumed that consenting to this would mean that my troubles are over but Hahaha nope. Another two months pass by as we are forced to adapt to not having the dignity of basic privacy in our bedroom, and then they tell us that they are having supply chain issues. Like wow, supply chain issues to buy ordinary blinds for ONE APARTMENT UNIT.Having experienced this, I can tell you with absolute confidence that any claim they make of this being a luxury apartment are laughable. Whoever it is that running this property have completely dropped the ball on even the most basic necessities of the residents. Save your money and dignity and never consider this place an option!!
There are several reasons why my husband and I decided to leave Metropolitan tower: the foremost reason relating to interactions with management, with security a very close second. Despite repeated attempts to engage management in these issues, no action was taken and, ultimately, our concerns as tenants were ignored. Below I’ve included a list of concerns I discussed with management, as well as photographic evidence to corroborate. I hope management can solve some of these concerns, as it has been an overall disappointing experience to live here.Shortly after extending our lease, construction and renovations began on the building. At no point did administration inform the tenants of the impending construction (although they still raised rent by ~20%), nor was there an open forum for residents to discuss their concerns openly with management. Such actions created vast distrust in an already shaky environment.Since we have moved into Metropolitan tower, there have been security concerns. For much of our time here, the door to the elevator lobby never properly closed (see Exhibit A). This was an ongoing issue for months and was only recently resolved. However, this was not the largest security issue. The door from the lobby was propped open to anyone that enters the lobby (see Exhibits B, C, D) during construction. This would have been less of an issue if there had been 24/7 security or concierge engaging those entering the building; however, that was also rare (see Exhibit E).When we selected Metropolitan tower, it was in part due to the amenities available. After living here for a year in a half, it is apparent these amenities are not kept up with or managed well. As you can see in Exhibit F, the 8th floor outside space turned into a mud pit over the rainy and became an overall unappealing space. However, the main amenity issue is the dog run. As evident in Exhibit G (1 & 2), when it is dark there is no lighting in this section of the building, leading to many dog-owners not picking up after their pets. According to our apartment-networking site, this has been an issue since before we moved in.Packages is the most recent of the concerns, as it has only been an issue since the construction/new management began. We had several occurrences of not getting notifications of packages, losing packages, or receiving damaged/spoiled packages. Additionally, when they installed the new package system – it caught on fire.Typically, we had a meal service delivered. This box is typically delivered in the lockers with a notification email sent. However, several times we got no notification, and after so many instances with packages we went in to the system to track if it had been delivered. It had been delivered in the morning. There was no notification. Once again, it spoiled like some previous deliveries. We asked why there wasn’t a notification concerning the package and the response provided was “there is no room in the lockers.” The management team spent all this money updating the package system, and there is not enough room to accommodate the tenants of the building. This is not the first-time this has occurred, and it is unacceptable. Not everything about Metropolitan tower was negative; in fact most of our early experiences were pretty good. However, overall it is clear to me that current management (Greystar) does not act on resident feedback. I will not put my money where I do not have a voice. I would not recommend anyone to live here longer than a hotel stay. That said, if you are living here – also expect many temporary vacationers and those in temporary housing situations as the building is used for those purposes as well. I hope this feedback will create change, as I truly hope nobody else will have to go through this experience.
The management staff are wonderful to work with and put in the extra effort to make you feel at home. The maintenance crew is professional, friendly, and get things done fast. Im not sure about other apartments in the building, but mine has a great view of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. There were no other apartments in Seattle at the $2500 price point which offered a view like this.
Great leasing experience! I truly appreciate the help from all of the staff, but Angelica and Kameryn specifically were super helpful. Thank you!!
This place has been fantastic to live in, especially since the new management took over. Great fast maintenance crew, good location, and the leasing office is full of friendly folks who care about the tenants. I got locked out of the parking garage at 9pm and the manager came down and took care of it herself.Cant say enough good things about this building.
I have pretty mixed feelings about living here. On the one hand, the amenities are amazing (its quite hard to find a pool, let alone a sauna and steam room, and theres free coffee in the lobby) and the concierge team is so friendly and creative when it comes to thinking up ways to make living here more fun/communal. Theres easy access to the loading dock and freight elevator for moving in/out and a package service that lets you schedule packages to be dropped off at your door. What makes living here a nightmare is the lack of insulation from neighbors. The fire alarms go off several times a month, which shut down the elevators and make going anywhere a nightmare if you live on a high floor. There is little insulation from noise, meaning youre going to hear people on your floor and adjacent floors partying well into the night. The ventilation system is also not isolated, which means that any marijuana or cigarette smoke from someone in the apartment will make its way into your apartment. Every time I turn the AC on, secondhand marijuana smoke fills my room, which isnt great given my respiratory condition and exacerbated from my living in a studio with no other space to be in. People smoke right outside the entrance and on their balconies, so theres no relief even when you go outside. Management, separate from the concierge team, has never responded to my inquiries on how to fix this situation. When the pandemic initially struck Seattle, there were definitely instances where residents showed anti-Asian/xenophobic microaggressions as well, but again, management ignored this when I pointed it out.The location and amenities are wonderful but not enough to make up for many sleepless nights Ive had here, and I anticipate that the upcoming rent increase will make living here even less worth it. If you have the money to be able to afford rents at this price point, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
I wanted to share that I had an incredibly positive experience working with Damon in exploring leasing options. He really went above and beyond to help my husband and I in getting all the information we needed. I also appreciate how friendly Phil was every time I called the building with more questions; they clearly value their tenants highly and provide excellent service!
Maintenance crew is fast. I put in a request for lightbulb replacements for both kitchen and bathroom and they fixed within 30 minutes. Very impressive IMO.
We absolutely LOVE living here in this community! Met Towers has the best amenities and staff hands down! The concierge is outstanding and like family. She really cares about the residents. ALWAYS happy and engaged. Such a treat to come home to her smiling face. Same with the leasing agent and entire staff. Truly an amazing team and perfect location in downtown Seattle. Thank you, Met Tower!!
I am a furnished housing provider that has used Met Tower for temporary housing for 20+ years for my guests. Myself and my clients, many returning year after year, have been very fond of the building, amenities, location and the staff. I highly recommend this upscale high-rise classic in DT Seattle!
Please live here if you want your packages stolen from your front door. Twice in 2 months that my packages was stolen. Dont expect the office to do any. Called the office one of the employee pick up the phone I explain everything. He said he will go talk to the manager. Never heard back from them. Sign the lease right now if you want to live with THIEF!!!!!!
I always get nervous when I hear that a business is under new management, especially when you really appreciate the current management team. But some how Met Tower went from great to even better. The parties are better, building maintenance has upped its game and management is even more responsive. At the last community event they even had a magician there doing tricks for the residents. The amenities are fantastic, the location is perfect and the staff is an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. Pardon my enthusiasm but this is a great place to live.
I never got to live here, but I wanted to share my experience anyway. The leasing team is wonderful. They were always there for us whenever we needed to see a unit. Kameryn went above and beyond And always tried to accommodate us whenever we needed it. Location is unbeatable. Amenities, LOVE THEM. I am giving 5 stars ONLY because of Kameryn and the other guys working at the leasing office. Special recognition to the security guards, they made us feel like we were already home, even before leasing here, there was always a nice and warm smile. We are so sorry we can not move in to the Met Tower. Now, the reason we didn’t move there is because corporate processes. Terrible and slow people that made us look somewhere else. During the apartment hunt many apartments switched daily to renovating, or rerentovating, which is why we were happy to have finally found the one. However, We have 2 dogs and we were always said there wouldn’t be a problem with our documents, so we were happy and ready to move in. On our moving day. And having to move out of our apartment the next day and having made the moving arrangements, the people who make the contract decided we needed to pay per deposit plus pet rent for our emotional support dogs. Everything was loaded up in the car, we were moving that very same day and we were told our documents were not good for both of our dogs( we have a from a legal physician stating we can have more than one pet, not only one,) and even though Kameryn tried his best to reach our to the risk team, they simply were nowhere to be found as it was a weekend. What could we do? We were going to be homeless the next day if we didn’t act fast. We decided to look somewhere else ASAP and we found a place where we were completely approved and ready to move by the next day. Avenue 5 has disappointed us, and truly, it was an awful at the end, especially because the lease was supposed to be ready days in advance, and they didn’t tell us anything about the situation with our dogs until the moment we were already moving in. Anyway, if corporate keeps changing the rules at the very last minute, they should honor whatever agreement we had before. Once again, we really wanted to move to our beautiful unit but this situation wasn’t good at all. Thanks Kameryn for all of your help. You are great. Thanks to the leasing staff for trying to help us and your patience. I feel bad for you guys because you are doing a lot of work, only to be thrown away by the company policies. My advice? Move there but be sure to double read everything before you move in and have everything in writing. Thanks for reading.
Ive lived at Met Tower for the better part of 2 years. Ive always found the staff to be helpful and always happy to answer questions. The building services are top notch also.Ive also found that the security in the building is good, with security folks at night, swipe card access and secure lockers for packages.Totally recommend the place :)P.S. Dont wait a year, like I did, to try the awesome wine & cheese place in the bottom of the building either!
Great place to live. Cant beat the location. The Tower was recently rebought by new-old owners and weve seen a huge improvement in commitment to the building-community. Sandy, the building manager, is extremely helpful.
We lived here for 2 years and really enjoyed it. The staff was always really helpful, and very friendly with our young kids. (Especially Sandy)Our maintenance requests were always promptly resolved, usually the same day. When we first moved in a couple years ago, we did have some issues with smoke from the apartment under us coming into our apartment. We had an infant, and so were concerned about his health. But the staff was supportive in resolving the issue, and the building is now smoke-free.Workout room & pool are great, although access to them has been limited the last few months due to construction (April 2017).All-in-all, it was the best apartment weve ever lived in, mostly because of the staff. We will miss the community.
I am definitely moving out when the lease is up this year. I lived here two years. Although the location is great, that is the main reason stayed for two years. The overall low rating is for the apt management. They lost my $950 package and refuse to be responsible for it. The vendor refuse to refund since their mail tracking shows the delivery was made to the apt. The apts mail system video shows the staff took it out of the mail box, but not able to locate them. After waiting two months, the manager showed me the lease contract clause, says that they are not responsible for mails, and asked me to have delivery made some where else if not happy. Also, the apt recently renovated to worse. They took the kitchen out of the residents lounge, and cannot host any meal together anymore; the lounge fireplace is stayed broken all winter, and the remote is kept at the managers office, not usable at all when you want it on when having guests. I am leaving. Not a community oriented place, that is why you never see anyone mingling, very lonely place...
Great building with wonderful amenities. We find the building very quiet and do not hear any of the street noise. The location could not be better. Just renovated public areas are fantastic, and cant wait to use the new pool and sauna. Staff is so helpful and responsive to needs and questions. Whenever we have any kind of maintenance issue its dealt with immediately. Sandy Yaeger has to be the BEST CONCIERGE in the city! She knows all the restaurants, destinations, and things to do. Weve had many wonderful experiences based on her advice.
We love Met Tower. Ideal location, friendly staff. Our apt is not renovated but will likely renew our lease in a renovated apartment. Nice amenities too
The gym, pool, and exercise area you pay for is never open, packages are consistently lost, the office staff is horrible at responding, the elevators are always down, in the past couple of months the fire alarm has gone off at least 8 times, and so much more . Over all it’s super over priced and outdated. There are many other apartments in the area that are newer and cheaper.
Great location and great staff. I always felt safe in the building and well taken care of by the front desk, the main office, and the maintenance staff. Luxury isnt just about fancy finishes - anyone can do that. Its about being treated like youre an important person who doesnt want to waste time on entry level BS, and Met Tower delivers on that promise. The apartments are very well insulated against sound; I didnt even realize that my next door neighbor had a newborn. My apartment was in good repair and maintenance always responded promptly, even for burned out lightbulbs. Trash and recycling is on each floor and compost is an easy trip down the elevators to the garage. The in-building gym is nice and usually not very busy. Package pick-up was easy and convenient with the lockers and front desk.
My wife and I are leaving Seattle and heres what well miss most: Our amazing apartment at Metropolitan Tower and, most important, the incredible people who staff the building. Best apartment living experience weve ever had - a safe, centrally located, totally secure high-rise that feels more like a fine hotel. The staff: Absolutely the best - Phil, Kim, Devin; everyone in the management office; the super-responsive, great guys who make up the maintenance team. Great people who love what they do and who go out of their way to make your life pleasant. Will miss the place and the people greatly.
Met Tower is the center of the universe NOT Fremont! The location is the BEST is downtown Seattle hands down. Ten minutes to anywhere: Pike Place market, the Waterfront, Seattle Center, Town Hall, Nordstrom, Westlake Center, ACT Theatre, 5th Avenue Theater, and so much more! The staff is amazing, attentive, engaging, supportive, and just FUN! The parties are incredible and frequent. The apartments and floor plans are diverse and beautifully appointed and so quite. And then there are the 5 star amenities: jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, heated pool, yoga studio, gym, outdoor space, library, pool table, demo kitchen and common space, gorgeous lobby, coffee machine, and so much more. We really feel like we live in a 5 Star Hotel in the center of the universe!
Alicia is very nice to give me some support When I moved out. The apartment has a super good view in Seattle. I enjoyed the time lying on bed and watching some amazon staff working in the office in the midnight.
A well maintained apartment complex. There are different agencies/individuals renting it. Unit we stayed in 27th floor is fantastic with great views. They have a pool that no one uses....a common room where we watched NFL as if its our own living room.Pool table is in a tiny neat room. Great place to have a nice elevator chat (it runs fast though). Security officer at front desk are super nice. They really make you feel like this is your home. You always get a parking spot some where, though spots are bit narrower (common, you are in Seattle).
We stayed here for 8 days as a vacation rental property through Stay Alfred. The property is very centrally located to many of the major attractions of Seattle. You are within walking distance of Pikes Place, Seattle Center, and Pioneer Square. Stay Alfred was easy to deal with and the on-site leasing office was easy to deal with for key pick up and return. The security staff was friendly and the buildings secure entry and exit was always functional and well lit. It would be nice to have a parking spot included, but all of the major car rental companies are located about 3 blocks away.
This buildings quality is very high, while remaining at a reasonable price. Noise issue was one of the main reason I left my previous apartment, where I could listen to life drama of my neighbors and was bothered by every loud car on the street. Ive never had such issues with Met Tower since moved in a few months ago. The building also comes with abundant practical amenities. The pool (very rare in downtown), SPA, and cozy large lounge are my favorite so far.The management staff is super professional and helpful, unlike those from some other buildings who turn into different person once you sign the lease. I also like that the community is warm and well mannered. So far Im loving the experience at Met Tower, and Id highly recommend it for downtown folks looking for cozy and quality apartment.
I enjoyed my stay in Met Tower. The staff are friendly and the amenities are great, at least the amenities I used (Gym, Terrace, Community area). The location is wonderful and the units are nice (at least mine was).
Had a wonderful stay for corporate housing. The staff takes the time to know you. The location is ideal, and the facilities are solid. Would stay again!
Great location, friendly and helpful staff; quality building; quiet, multiple and quick elevators; nice indoor parking; any little questions or problems are quickly addressed; very recent remodeling and building updates. We clearly recommend this apartment. We are moving elsewhere for other family reasons, not any negative reflections on Metropolitan.Ken and Judy Ozinga
Love it here. The staff is really nice and helpful. All the requests get addressed within 24 hours generally. The parties are enjoyable too.
The building and staff are really great. Maintenance, concierge, office, etc. are just nice people. The recent renovations and upgraded secure package pickup system show the building is always looking for ways to improve the residents experience.
Edit: Three years after the original review the new management had sent an update instructing residents how to handle fire alarms and not bother other residents.Building isnt too bad. Pool is kind of gross and they cant get the package system right, but otherwise a nice place to live.Original: Alarms go off a lot, no explanation from the staff. 4-5 times in the last month or two.16+ flight of stairs with cats always makes for a nice evening.Find a more updated building and save your money.
I love every moment here at the Met Tower, the views and the rooftop are my favorites and I love we have a lot of restaurants near by!In love with the pool and the gym!!
I love Sandy the concierge! She is so warm and friendly, greets me every time I see her.
Great I found this community to be organized and staff friendly. Its a nice place to live It nice to live here it is nice and quite and safe.
Weve now lived here for 9 months and on an almost weekly basis my work is still being disrupted by BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ for hours and hours as the renovations continue around our unit - renovations that we were told when moving in last year would be completed by the September/October timeframe. Almost six months past that date and theyre still happening and have cost me money from how it has affected my ability to work with how paper thin these walls are.Thats also not mentioning the night before last being one of many times maintenance people have come into our unit after midnight, sometimes while were asleep. These are not the kind of conditions people should live in when paying $3000+ per month.I understand construction can take (much, apparently) longer than originally anticipated but were now looking to move and theyre not willing to let us out of the lease even a month and a half early as a gesture to make up for the issues or anything...With how many new apartments there are being constructed in the area youd be much better off elsewhere, others will almost assuredly be more caring and honest and give you a more peaceful living experience.
Great location, excellent staff, and friendly tenants made this a great place to spend ~6 months when first moving to Seattle. I highly recommend it!
My family has lived at Met Tower for 13 months and we love it! Assuming we continue to like the price, we will continue to live here for months and years to come!Met Tower has such a neighborhood feel! I think there are 3 reasons for this: The first is that people gather around the amenities. We have met a lot of our neighbors while playing in the pool and on the terrace. The second reason I think Met Tower has a neighborhood feel is that there are people of all ages here: families with kids, retired folks, singles, newlyweds. It is like living in a sweet suburban neighborhood, but instead of playing in backyards, the kids play on the terrace and in the community room! (A group of us with kids gets together regularly for playdates and anyone is welcome!) We make smores with our neighbors on the grills and have each other over for meals! Our neighbors are our friends! The third reason I think Met Tower has a community feel is our wonderful concierge, Sandy! Sandy knows everybodys name (even the pets!) and always has a warm smile and kind words. She is also helpful in answering questions and plans wonderful parties. Oh, the parties! That should be a fourth reason! In addition to having a neighborhood feel, Met Tower is just a fantastic building! The most important thing my family looked for in a building was an indoor pool with good hours and warm water. My husband and I do triathlons and we love having a convenient place to swim laps year-round! The gym and other amenities are great too! There is even a library! We love our unit. The floor plan is sensible and there are lots of closets and cabinets. The walls must be really well-insulated because we never hear our neighbors. We even did a test with our piano and found that you cant hear the piano from the hallway unless you come right up to the door. (The piano is against an interior wall.) We have had no major maintenance problems and anything we have needed fixed has been fixed by the friendly maintenance team within a day!If you are looking for a top-notch building in a great location with a neighborhood feel, check out Met Tower!
NOTE: this review is more about the leasing team and its approach to business than it is the building. My wife and I started shortlisting buildings we wanted to live in while still in NYC - among them was the Met Tower. Without realising, my wife and I both called them without knowing the other had to discuss apartments and arrange viewings (yes, we are disorganised), but this didnt matter to them. Instead, we were both treated with respect, courtesy, tolerance (i send lots of emails) and kindness - and yes, we were told that we were both talking to them!Alicia in particular took her time to gently explain the layouts of each flat and what she thought might work for us. Then, when we eventually arrived, we were greeted with coffee, a smile - and NO FEELING OF PRESSURE.We spent an hour touring floorplans and even returned later that night to see the views in the dark. None of this time wasting mattered to her. It genuinely felt like she wanted to help us find the right home MORE than simply get a lease signed. The proof of this came when we eventually settled elsewhere (it was a TOUGH choice), and yet she was still happy for us. For transparency, the Met Tower won on price and floorplans, but we found a view elsewhere that was sheer fluke and irresistible. The building may appear a little old on the outside, but inside it is better put together than any of the new stuff. The apartments are massive, the prices are reasonable and the amenities are great. While we dont live here, I am certain we would have been very happy.Thank you team Met Tower!!
The vacation rentalwas amazing, great accommodations. Right in the middle of Seattle. Would totally recommend it!
I moved into Metropolitan Tower last year upon relocating to Seattle, and can honestly say the experience has been horrible since I moved in. My first complaint is that the walls in this complex are paper thin. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked down the hallways and overhead my neighbors discussions that they were having in their private apartments. If you value being able to have a private discussion in your own apartment without whispering or worrying about being overheard, this apartment is probably not for you. Also, be prepared to watch TV or play video games on mute here, as even minimal sound travels easily between walls. I’ve never lived in an apartment complex before with as horrible of sound insulation quality as you will run into at Metropolitan Tower. My second complaint is that the Metropolitan Tower staff is incredibly rude and hostile. I had a pleasant experience with the staff at first before signing a 12-month lease, but that immediately changed once I moved in. Now, every experience since has been a negative one. They’re rude, arrogant, make false claims, and couldn’t care less about customer service. It should not be surprising though, as they’re owned by apartment conglomerate Greystar, who currently has an F rating by the better business bureau. That rating alone should tell you how they will treat you once you sign a lease. My third complaint is that there seems to be never-ending construction going on at Metropolitan Tower. The construction crews are noisy, block off paths to your apartment, and repeatedly set off fire alarms. When I moved in, we had a nice communal area, a pool, and a 24/7 gym. That has since changed, as the communal area and pool have been permanently closed, and the gym is closed for 12 hours a day. You would think that they would offer us tenants a discount for this constant construction that has removed our amenities, right? Of course not, as did I mention the F rating?Upon going to the Metropolitan Tower staff to voice my annoyance with them and request an early termination, the staff rejected my request and instead offered me advice of (and I quote), “Just suffer through it for a couple more months until your lease is over, and then you can leave”. Even though it’s a little too late for me, and I just need to suffer here for a couple more months per the request of Metropolitan Tower staff, I hope you can learn from my experience. There are so many other better apartment complexes to choose from in Seattle. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Don’t choose Metropolitan Tower. Live somewhere else where youll be happy.
UPDATE for August 15, 2017: I literally am listening to loud jackhammering right now. Its 4pm. Dont live here.AS OF MARCH 31, 2017, WARNING: DO NOT LIVE HERE!I have been in this building since summer 2015, and at first, I loved it. It felt so homey. Loved the amenities, the staff, the apartments, the location, etc. I would have given this building 5 stars during my first year (see other reviews, but be wary of the time they were written). At some point in 2016, Greystar bought this building and took ownership. If you didnt know, they have an F rating on the BBB.First of all, renovations began in February and they are SO NOISY. There are no concessions or rent credits, which I wasnt even expecting to begin with, nor would I have asked for. The problem is that the construction has begun multiple times at 7AM in the morning. It ruins our sleep. I tried to use my heavy-duty wax earplugs to block it out, but it was no use. Ive woken up to their jackhammering multiple times with headaches. This happens all day, throughout the day. I cannot wait for it to end.Second, theyve decided to replace our package room (which I loved, because the 24/7 concierge would handle our packages and store them without us having to worry -- like if we were on vacation, if we received an unexpected package, etc). Now, theyre using Luxer One. Luxer One is a service that tries to mimic Amazon Lockers, but with a very stringent time limit on picking up packages. After 2 days, you get charged a fee of $1 per day for them having to store it. After 7 days, they return the package to the sender. None of this was in our lease. Also, the package lockers CAUGHT ON FIRE TODAY (3/31/2017). I repeat, the LUXER ONE LOCKERS CAUGHT ON FIRE IN THE MAILROOM ON THE 27TH FLOOR (relocated because of the renovations). The USPS guy, who was trying to deliver mail, even scolded our concierge/security/management saying You knew these were a smoke hazard, but you installed them anyway. Ironically, I received an email today notifying me that I was signed up for this, but I am opting out (if possible) for obvious reasons. And that leads my to my third complaint, the fire alarms dont work. Im working from home today, and my boyfriend (who I live with) came home early. He texted me to tell me there was a fire in the mailroom, and that the firefighters were asking Why arent the alarms turned on? and then flipped a switch to turn them on. Even after that happened, I still couldnt hear them from our XXth floor apartment. What the hell?! This has happened multiple times now in the past few months. We had no idea there was a fire, or that the alarms had been triggered, until wed go downstairs to the lobby for whatever reason and realize that the fire trucks were outside and that we werent allowed to go upstairs. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.Fourth, when I was renewing my lease with Greystar, I noticed they snuck in random fees ($9 for Metropolitan Improvement, and $5 Common Area Electricity). Granted, these fees are super small, but are you kidding me? Common area electricity? What, are you planning to turn the hallway lights off if we dont pay? Too expensive for you, Greystar? Its just a matter of principle. Ugh. We decided to sign anyway, given that we couldnt renew our lease until it had been completely fixed (it was fixed 5 or so days before it ended). We would have had to pay a $500 early move out fee for not notifying them 20 days before the lease ended. We may not have resigned had we been given ample time to read the new lease & decide. There are some staff members who are truly awesome and deserve an extra star (shoutout to Phil, Kelly, and Carlita at the leasing office, and Sandy downstairs), but Grey Star and upper level management clearly DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE RESIDENTS OR OUR WELL-BEING, SAFETY, OR OUR LEGAL RIGHT TO QUIET ENJOYMENT. Clearly, all they care about is our money. Please do not live here, but if you arent convinced, just wait until AFTER the renovations are done. Maybe then theyll have their s% together.
Picked up my keys there, customer service was awesome
I dropped off apartment keys. The desk staff member was courteous and helpful.
I just looked into the lobby, but it looked nice.
Really great to work with, friendly and efficient staff!
Great parking garage and monthly parking rates.
I parked here. I was good and safe.
I loved the pool, sauna, and hot tub!
Looked at apartments. Great location, amenities, staff, units.
