I moved from Magnolia to Belltown for the location. With quick access to the market in one direction and the Olympic Sculpture Park on the Elliott Bay Trail in the other, I absolutely love it. The amenities in the building are great, and the staff is all fantastic -- super friendly and responsive! I thought my main con moving in would be the distance from larger grocery stores, but with all the fresh food I can get at the market and Target just past it for the other staples, I dont need to take the car out for larger grocery trips. I couldnt be happier at this location!
We moved into Griffis Belltown about a week and a half ago and we are so happy to be here! The location and amenities are awesome and the staff is so helpful/sincere! We want to give a special shout-out to Gene, our maintenance tech, for being super responsive and taking care of the service requests we made this last week after move in. He went above and beyond and came back numerous times just to make sure certain issues were 100% resolved. Not only that, but he helped us get our couch through the hallway and into our apartment! So grateful! Thank you Gene!!!
Its a nice apartment located near the waterfront. The close proximity to Olympic Sculpture Park and Pike Street are a big plug for me.Gene is great at fulfilling the service requests
We live at Griffis BELLTOWN apartments.Gene is our maintenance manager. His work is exemplary and we are always satisfied with his excellent work ethic.Gene is a great communicator and very trustworthy! We trust him to go into our apartment when we are not home. We do not allow ANYONE else in our apt when we are not home.Receiving top notch maintenance is critical to everyone and probably one of the most important items to us. When we have a problem with something not working, we call Gene and are always assured he will make things right.Thank you Gene!Roger and Connie Hills
Griffis Belltown is the best place to live in Seattle. The maintenance staff and leasing office is very helpful in any issues. Gene, one of the maintenance techs resolved my problem quickly.
Hallways and amenities have trash and a weird smell. Leasing office was not very helpful when I was trying to find a place.
My wife and I recently toured the Griffis Belltown apartments. Ultimately we chose to remain in our current living situation for reasons at no fault of this apartment complex or the staff. As a matter of fact, we had a great experience working with the leasing manager Nora Keith. From the start Nora was professional, welcoming, knowledgeable, and kind. Im confident that anyone else looking to live in this community is in great hands with Nora at the helm.
Ive lived here for about a month so far and its been great. The building and front office staff are great, as is Gene on the maintenance staff. We had a maintenance issue on a Saturday evening. He responded quickly, was courteous, and was very helpful in taking care of the problem. Its great to know we have someone like him nearby whenever any issue may arise.
Front desk staff are always on top of things and provide great customer service. And the maintenance staff is great! Quick to fix things around the facility and making sure the residents here are satisfied. 5 stars.
I lived in this building for four and a half years. Griffis took over a couple of years ago, and while it was a good building before, they turned it into an amazing place to live. The apartments are beautiful, but more importantly the staff and the amenities are beyond expectations. The office staff does a great job of putting together community events, occasional grab & go breakfasts (there is also an amazing espresso machine in the main lobby) and keeping the community up to date on local happenings via a monthly calendar and the website. Hands down the best office/maintenance staff ever. I rarely had service requests, but when I did they were resolved quickly and thoroughly. The only non-completely positive thing is the noise on Western. I lived on a low floor and like to keep my windows open, so consider that if youre not a sound sleeper. Its on the truck route and the 99 off-ramp / Battery St. Tunnel spill out there.I believe most of the renovations have been completed, the common areas (not currently pictured) are AMAZING. There is also a new dog wash station and a art room. I wish I could have stayed, but my circumstances changed and living downtown was no longer convenient for me. I would recommend checking it out in person, youll fall in love.*1/18/21 After I moved, they finally took down the viaduct and closed the Battery St tunnel, so I suspect street noise has greatly improved.
Ive had a really great experience with Griffis Belltown thus far. The leasing office was very happy to accommodate us given we were moving from the east coast. They made it extremely easy and continue to be professional and helpful. When we got to our apt, we noticed the washer made a loud noise and it made it hard to take calls while WFH. The maintenance team was fantastic throughout the process. Within a week of checking out the washer, Gene and Seth replaced it with brand new units. They were very professional and friendly and went above and beyond what was required. They have even followed up to make sure everything was up to standard. Very glad we picked this location for our first spot in Seattle. Great location too!
Bait n Switched me; beware.I was quoted a 2 bedroom at $2000/month with 3 months free rent and $100/month off the $200/month parking. I show up the soonest appointment I could make, and low and behold that deal was yesterday’s news. Now, just days later, it’s $2100 for their cheapest 2 bedroom with no months of free rent and full priced $200/month parking. They were sure to show me a 1 bedroom at $1700 a month where if I acted within 48 hours I could get two months free rent. $200 parking though. A classic Bait n Switch tactic. It all seemed very shady and unprofessional. I will not be leasing here.
Great maintenance staff. Great amenities. The location is awesome.
Gene from the maintenance team is really quick to solve problems and offers a really nice and professional service! Great job!
Gene with the maintenance staff is great! Came and fixed our water heater, going above and beyond. Appreciate the quick service!
My experience with Griffis has been really good. People taking care of the community are professional and friendly and are always willing to help in whatever way they can. Shout-out to Gene and Bronson who have always been available in timely manner for any maintenance requests. It would be good if they could upgrade few things like elevators, security and cleanliness of the lobbies for the amount of rent we pay. But otherwise living here has been great.
Been living in this community for over 3 years now, the staff is extremely professional and responsive. Amenities are cool, the team organizes fun activities like breakfast on the go and Game nights with Pizza and Beer etc. Every service request gets taken care of on time. Thanks Gene and Bronson for the timely responses to the service requests. Really enjoy living here.
Gene has been amazing! his services are quick and he is always professional
I moved into Griffis Apartment in March this year. Most of the time for maintenance related stuff we dealt with GENE.He is too good with his work. Professional, In time and always helpful.I really appreciate his help. 5 stars for him.Thank you
We’ve lived here for almost exactly a month now, and I have been more impressed with this building than anywhere else I have lived. Not only has management been communicative and kind, maintenance (Gene) has been responsive, efficient, and also kind. I’m a single mom with two -crazy- kids, and it’s hard not to feel like a burden everywhere I go. Our last two rental experiences were rough, with the landlords clearly less than happy to work with me, and I was really nervous about going through that again. But even though my kids have already pushed the limits, no one has treated us with anything less than kindness. I love our unit and our view, the only reason I took off a star is because there were nicer finishes in comparably priced buildings in a similar location, and it’s the first time I’ve lived somewhere that bills residents for communal utilities. The location and management are absolutely worth it though.
This review is for Gene from the maintenance team NOT for Griffis as a whole: Gene came by to fix some plumbing issues in our apartment today and did a great job! He was in and out quickly, was super professional and friendly, and fixed the issues! I really appreciate Gene and the other folks on the maintenance staff who have been essential both during and even way before COVID, keeping us running here at Griffis. Really appreciate you all! Thank you!
Griffis Belltown is probably the best property management Ive experienced. Haley, in the front office, addresses everything as soon as we bring it to her attention. All maintenance staff is friendly and quick to respond to requests.
The staff here are amazing and so quick to respond to any maintenance requests and questions. Nora is incredibly patient with all of the questions I had when I first moved in and Gene is always pleasant when he comes to fix anything.
Gene is super helpful. They quickly replaced my refrigerator very corporative and friendly person. Makes living easy.
Gene, a maintenance tech here at Griffis, is simply an amazing tech. He is extremely knowledgeable at his expertise and he will make sure he gets the job done correctly and thoroughly at his first visit. Griffis belltown is definitely lucky and fortunate to have a tech like him
We just moved here 2 weeks back. The whole move in process was smooth during the pandemic. The apartments & layout are spacious compared to other buildings in Belltown. We had couple of minor maintenance issues which were promptly resolved. Overall good experience!
Last week I had very pleasant maintenance experience with Gene. He came to fix the kitchen light and within a few minutes he figured out he had to change the whole light fixture. Had everything finished in about 20 minutes.
Hello there my wife and I have been living here for six months and we have nothing but good things to say. I think the staff is always very helpful and efficient. In fact recently we had a pretty bad leak that caused some of the wall to be removed and then dry walled and repainted. I was very pleased with the quickness and efficiency that Gene and Bronson from maintenance got this done. Hayley from the office also reached out to check on the status of this as well. Love this apartment!
I’ve been living here for almost five months and it is in the perfect location for Seattle. You’re a 15 minute walk from pikes place and there are tons of fun places to try nearby. The office and maintenance staff have always been very courteous to me as well. The only downside is the price is a little more than I’d like but it is an expensive city in the first place. Overall, a great place to live!
Apartment was spacious and maintenance is good but there is almost no sunlight in some of the layouts. I have lived here for 10 months and There have been multiple break-ins in the community and garages. They switched to a third party package delivery system called Fetch. They receive your packages and deliver them to your door at your scheduled time, sounds interesting right. Fetch messes the package delivery more than often than not which is still acceptable(We are all after all human) as long as your receive the package. There have been multiple instances of stolen packages. But neither Fetch nor the Griffis Management take the responsibility of stolen packages. They are not even sorry about it, and, even worse suggested me to claim refund from the vendor company which delivered the package. Not being able to cover for my lose is still acceptable but giving illicit and unsolicited advice is simply unprofessional and unethical. The management are just mechanical and barely communicators between tenant and the owner(or whatever lies above them). I dont expect the management to take responsibility of the issues caused by the decisions of the owner but showing some connection or empathy towards your tenants is least expected. We requested to move to a different apartment in the same community which requires an unusual process of reaching out leasing office and communicating our interest. I and my roommates must have reached out to the management at least on 4 occasions and every time the response was so slow that the apartments were gone even before they could send in the transfer form.Let me teach you what empathy is: If we reach out to you asking to transfer to an open apartment, you dont simply say sure we will send you a form when it pleases you, causing enough delay that the apartment is gone for good. Instead you check if there were other applicants and send the form right away so that we dont lose the apartment. That is the little empathy I expect from people I interact with on regular basis. On top of this, there is no freedom of speech in the community portal, every word you write is scrutinized and censored if it questions their way.
Gene from maintenance was great! I placed the request late on a Thursday night and he was there to fix my screen door on my balcony Friday afternoon. Gene was friendly, professional, and fixed the screen door in a timely fashion!
My wife and I have been tenants for five years, moved here under the previous management, which offered us a fair cost of rent for our unit. If this management would have stayed, our review would have been a 5. However, corporate Griffis bought the building and established a new leasing staff and set of rules. The building amenities went into needless renovation (previous management renovated less than two years before we moved in) for a year, very slow, which closing them all, including the clubhouses and pool during this time. Rent went up $500 and the cost of our parking spot doubled. Over time, the amenities have been falling into disrepair, and the safety of our persons and belongings decreased. The gym used to have fully functional equipment, now down to one singular functioning treadmill (out of 3, and used to be 4). The courtyard is open to the public and garage doors often failing, allowing people to enter the property, pry open doors, stealing our bikes (from the PAID lockers, no less) and breaking into our cars, and on several occasions did I find evidence of squatters in our stairwells, who leave feces, blood and needles.Recently, management forbid the delivery of all packages to our building, referring us to have our packages sent to a third party delivery service in SoDo that uses contract drivers, THEN scheduling with THEM to have our packages delivered to us with drivers in their personal vehicles. This has led to a plethora of lost packages from a great portion of us. This, Im assuming, is just a ploy for management to relieve themselves of all responsibility for their tenants and cut costs. We befriended other tenants, who say that their apartment has flooded, twice, from pipes above their unit, and Griffis made it up to them by raising their rent as well.Griffis, since taking over, has been raising the rents considerably while doing what they can to cut services, protection and liability. The apartment unit itself is great, modern, and very quiet. The maintenance staff has always been prompt and effective at any in-unit issue that has come up.Your first lease will be reasonable, and the amenities will definitely sell you, but beware that your rent will raise a considerable amount at every new lease.
I moved out about 4 months ago after living at Griffis for 2 years. Some aspects of the complex are great, such as location, community events, nice club rooms and pool, friendly staff, and very good maintenance when something goes wrong in your apartment. The apartments themselves are modern and of above average quality.Others are not. The previously private courtyard was opened to the public when it was found that the complex had taken over a public alleyway. Many, many break-ins have occurred and the security they have has been unimpressive. Car parking is expensive. Valet trash is 50 dollars a month and completely unnecessary given the convenient (and smelly) trash chutes, but the fee is mandatory. There are other fees, so be careful to calculate what your whole rent will be. A rent increase of over 10% on renewal is not uncommon here. Fetch, the package service is slow and hit or miss, but I preferred the package lockers. Things like tvs or exercise equipment are frequently not working. There are some additional issues but I heard them through hearsay and I dont want to open myself to libel. The management expects you to be understanding when things go wrong but are unwavering when they make a decision the majority are unhappy about, like switching to Fetch. I give them some credit for cancelling rent increases a few days before Inslee did. Finally, they used words like might and could when referring to a cleaning service they offered on move-out. In fact, the cleaning service is mandatory and expensive. I spent quite a lot of effort on making my apartment spotless. Waste of time. Dont bother cleaning more than the bare minimum on move-out.I wouldnt say theyre a bad complex for the area, but I would likely choose another management company and complex given a do-over.
I think I should have rated 5 but faced some minor issue in checkout.Maintenance support : 5/5, They are fast and quick. Sometime issue is fixed within some hour of request. But you may need to follow up for perfection.Office 5/5, The staff is quite friendly and helpful.Space: They have dog park but I think a better work can be done to keep it clean, but it is not only their job, depends on people using the same.Common area: Ups and down, I stayed here for near about two year, area looks very good after renovation. but renovation period had its own down time.Checkout process: Good, but I think I got paid less for one key set. I didnt like how you lose access to all payment history on the day of the checkout. And the charges sent by them didnt cover all charges they have charged us in past. Actually only key charges were missing. I had a two set of extra key, they paid back only for one, but their charge sheet didnt have reference to anyone.
I do not feel safe living here anymore. There have been more and more break ins to vehicles and our mailboxes have been broken into more than once in the last 6 months. Management refuses to listen to residents.
I moved into Griffis Apartment in March this year and I am more than satisfied with my decision. The staff members are all very friendly and helpful and offer support even beyond any housing questions. I moved from Germany and the entire team was always supportive to help me settle down and find my way through all the administrative stuff I had to go through. The apartment complex is very nice and new, and has its own character which was outstanding for me compared to other apartment options. The common facilities are exceptional, with a pool and hot tub, a beautiful roof with view on Elliott Bay, Barbecue areas, workspace etc. The fitness center is very spacious and well equipped and there is even a yoga room which is open for 24h. The Griffis staff is always keen to regulate common facilities which is why they are always clean and nice to hang out at.Griffis is a beautiful place to stay, located centrally just a 10 min walk from downtown but still quietly and near the waterfront.Definitely recommended to stay there.
Lived here for about 2 months now and really like the property. Office and maintenance staff are friendly and stay on top of requests and work orders. Amenities are nice with the hot tub, game room, and my favorite the dog wash. The location is great as well. Only a few blocks from restaurants and the waterfront. As well as all the big Seattle attractions. If you plan on driving to work Belltown is a great location. Currently its easy to get in and out of the area.Homes and amenities are nicely renovated. The only reason I am only giving it 4 stars is that the building is old and its shows in areas like the stair wells, storages, and parking. If these areas were given a face lift it would be 5 out of 5.
Terrible management. There have been multiple bike thefts, car break-ins, mailbox break-ins, and packages being stolen and they have done nothing. The amenities are often broken and management will take months to fix things. They recently started using fetch package service even though most of the residents hate it, but they won’t even consider any other options. They don’t listen to the residents at all.
This place has great people, I dealt with Tatiana and Eduardo and theyre awesome.I like the ActiveBuilding App/Web where you can see whats going on in the building, your dashboard, submit requests, add guests and the staff responds promptly. Its in the heart of Seattle hence its a bit noisy and pricey.Staff is always there to help, absolutely recommend it.
Very nice place 👌 would recommend
I really like how fast the maintenance crew comes by to fix problems. This is definitely one of the nicer apartment buildings in the area for the price you are getting them at.
I absolutely loved my time living at Griffis Belltown - I moved out a week ago. Very responsive staff, beautiful amenities, and overall a great experiences. However... I lived there for two years, with a pretty normal rent increase of about $100 between year 1 and year 2. We had a 2 bed/2 bath and paid about $2600/month. The rent increase that was offered after the second year was $3500/month - a $900 increase.A second incident - when we went to move out, we patched holes, cleaned the unit top to bottom (Im talking wiping down baseboards, wiping everything down, deep cleaning drawers and cabinets), and they had the nerve to charge us $100 for paint repair and $185 for cleaning. Not only did we not get our damage deposit back despite the fact that it was in near perfect condition when we left ($400, for the record), but the ledger showed that we owed them almost $120. When I asked the front desk people about it, they basically said that you can never get your damage deposit back unless you pay to have the apartment professionally cleaned yourself, and show them the receipt. I think thats bad business. People ought to know that your damage deposit is actually just an extra $400 charge to live there. I am disappointed with the lack of transparency and frankly, hands down bad business. I would expect more, given the positive living experience I had here. This apartment complex will price gauge you to the fullest extent, no matter how you act as a tenant. Id actually recommend leaving your apartment a mess on move out - theyre going to make you pay an exorbitant fee to have it cleaned anyway. Why waste your time?
I really like the apartment complex. The staff is friendly and helpful. The amenities are good with a decent pool and gym. Absolutely great location. I love the view from the terrace. The only thing that I dont like is it says its a pet friendly place but it is only friendly to cats and dogs but not allowed to keep a bird like the parakeets.
My review of Griffis Belltown is mixed. Some things were great, such as the staff and amenities, but other things were not, such as the weekly break-ins and other functional issues with the building. For me, the cons outweighed the pros, and I didnt renew after a year. The response to the petty theft, in my opinion, was especially poor. To be fair, car break-ins and package theft is common in and around downtown, but Griffiss attempts to mitigate these incidents were far too little, too late. The door to the exterior of the building (P2 to the courtyard) was not working properly when I moved out, and wasnt in great shape for a long time before then. I dont think installing an astragal to the front door as they are currently doing is going to be much help. The current installation of more cameras might help, but is not particularly useful if footage is looked through days later and the underlying issues are not fixed. Having working doors is a basic expectation which was not met, and that one in particular needs to be replaced, not tweaked. Additionally, other buildings in the area make residents wait until the garage doors close to make sure nobody has sneaked in and give hefty fines for not complying. My sense is that corporate Griffis spent a lot of money recently renovating the amenities and units of the building (which turned out very well), but is now extremely hesitant to spend more money on properly maintaining the building. Appearances are prioritized, while functionality is neglected. To be clear, my experience with members of the maintenance team was very positive and the smaller issues in my unit were fixed promptly, but they can only do so much with a seemingly inadequate budget for major issues. Management is well aware as well, but again, I suspect theyre not getting approval from corporate Griffis.Regarding the unit itself, most of the appliances and finishings were on the newer side and in good working order, but there were issues underneath the superficial level. My unit had smoke and cooking odors venting in through the sliding door frame into my bathroom and bedroom, regardless of whether or not the window was open or the fan was on. It often smelled like fish sticks, bacon, and popcorn from my neighbors cooking. I dont think the wall was properly sealed, or perhaps the door wasnt installed correctly. Soundproofing between units was not great. I wouldnt say paper-thin, but noise such as conversational level talking, walking around, and going to the bathroom was audible through the walls. My neighbors were all respectful and I dont blame them for living their lives, but it was still disruptive. The windows were pretty soundproof, and I didnt have much issue with street noise with the help of blackout curtains. For a building that is only about 20-30 years old, I wouldve expected not to have these issues and would go as far as to say that I found the building to be a subpar construction. There is also something going on with the trash chutes/dumpster, and the lobby often smells rancid, possibly due to the smell venting into the elevator shaft. The air freshener just made it smell like fruity trash.I think Griffis Belltown has potential if they fix the security and building maintenance issues, and Ill miss some things about living there such as the pool, rooftop view, coffee machine, and members of the staff knowing me by name. The services such as fetch and valet trash are well meaning, but I found the overall price to be steep. My total monthly utility bill was usually around $200 and never less than $150. $50 of that was for the valet trash on top of the city trash fee. I didnt have any issues with Fetch, but a lot of the other residents did and it is not popular. For a comparable price, some other buildings have concierge to sign for packages and watch the security cameras. Ultimately, I wouldnt recommend living at Griffis Belltown in its current state unless you really like the amenities (many of which will be closed until the pandemic is over) or need a short-term lease.
The leasing agents are wonderful people to talk to, and the apartments are really nice. However there are some design flaws in the lighting. The kitchen light blocks one cabinet from opening all the way, and the switches dont turn on what you would thimk they would turn on. No big deal though, just weird. So far everyone I have met has been a wonderful soul!:) Too expensive to rent by yourself though, you can find cheaper
My move in experience was very good. Tatiana is very courteous and was a great help during the move-in process.
Neat area, central to Piers, we Ubered way south to Royal Room for some Jazz. Loulas and Jazz Alley close, Mardi Gras (Pioneer Square) a long walk or bus ride away.
Thanks to Brandi Beutler who has made our out of state move very comfortable and predictable. We had serious concerns moving into a new city and unknown complex. Brandi made it all possible by addressing our many questions with great attitude, friendliness and understanding. This is a nice complex and the residents have been very nice and helpful.
Dropped to 3 stars from 5: I loved living here up until the dog that lived below me was allowed to constantly bark (sometimes for over 8 hours stright) for months on end. Im not sure if I will be renewing next August, and Ive lived here for 5 years, since before Griffis owned the building. The staff is super nice and wonderful, but the other residents dont know how to respect others. I think Im just going to call animal control from now on. This is animal cruelty. Ive even offered to watch the dog myself since I work from home editing publications.------‐----Griffin Belltown is seriously the best place Ive lived in Seattle. Its a very dog-friendly community, the office staff are wonderful and helpful. You cant ask for better amenities or a better location in the city. The apartments are homey without feeling like youre missing the comforts of a house or modern living. Repairs get taken care of rather quickly. The only complaint I have is sometimes, the ceilings transfer a bit too much noise, but, really, hello. Its an apartment.I cant express more about how much i love this place.
I have had the pleasure of living here for over a year and a half. Since I moved in, Griffis Beltown has made many improvements to the property that have enhanced my living experience tremendously! This property management goes the extra mile with all of the amenities, big or small! They also excel with an exceptional customer service team. In my short time living here, I have really enjoyed getting to know members of the leasing office; Eduardo, Emily and Tatiana. They helped me find a better parking space with no questions asked! The maintenance team has assisted with all of our requests and replace any apartment appliances with ease. I highly recommend this property for anyone who has pets or is knew to the city life! The location is perfect and you can literally walk to anything you want - sports events, shopping and entertainment, or a nice walk at Olympic sculpture park!
My wife and I really enjoyed GB. The staff is so nice and the maintenance is really awesome. The room was in pretty good shape-newly renovated. Their renovation is a bit rushed, so theres some poorly painted things. The price was the biggest selling point, as its the best combination of affordability and comfort/amenities in the Belltown area. The only complaint we had wasnt with the property of the staff, but with a select resident who did not clean up after their dog. Accidents near the elevator were happening daily (recently it has mostly stopped). It is very hard to catch this person in the act, even though the management is trying. But overall, its a great place to live.
I was very happy to live with Berkshire, but after they changed to Griffis I would say you dont want to deal with those stuff they are just unhelpful. All they want just increase the rent, they dont really care about you even I have lived in there for about 3 years. So nice!
I love the community and neighborhood, its very accessible to the restaurants, grocery stores nearby and its very easy to commute to downtown. The community has great view and the facilities, it has nice riverfront view on the rooftop(pier66 & spaceneedle is 5-10 mins walk from this community) and perfect place to relax and calm ourselves. The staff and manager are so friendly and kind always. I love the theme of the Apartment and i would definitely recommend this place for peaceful living.
I couldnt have asked for a better place for my first time moving away from home! The staff is amazing, always super nice and helpful. I absolutely love living here.
Great administrative staff - very responsive. Good combination of affordability + location/amenities.
Love it! Friendly staff, great amenities, good neighbors. I really love living here. The community events are nice too, you really get to know your neighbors.
Great customer service
We have really enjoyed our apartment at this great location, we have a great view of pujet sound from the fourth floor. The rooftop deck is nice too but for the last 9 months all amenities except the fitness center have been under construction and unusable. They said it was supposed to be done in 3 months and it is still nowhere near being finished. Also they tried to increase our rent $400 a month this year I negotiated down to $150 a month more but I am not getting anything for that increase. The front desk is friendly and the new amazon package machine is nice. They are also dog friendly. The parking spots are too tiny and expensive but the storage spaces in the garage are big and inexpensive. Like that they pick up recycling 5 days a week. They did some cosmetic stuff with carpet and paint in the hallways and front lobby so building looks updated. Also maintenance people are friendly and prompt. We didnt like them telling us there were fire alarm checks and water shut offs occasionally and we had no say over when these would be. We have a dog and both work and had to take him with us and they were allowing people to enter our apartment to check things. Would have liked more input as residents. Overall we have really liked living here but we have to move its just become too expensive with no additional benefits. There are brand new buildings nearby for the same price.
I didnt spend too much time at Griffis, but just enough that I can confidently rate it. My apartment was: 1-227.Noise: 5/5I am a very light sleeper and sometimes have insomnia too, I never had difficulty sleeping in my apartment at Griffis.Maintenance: 5/5I ran into issues 2-3 times during my stay but they were addressed very promptly.Safety: 4/5I never had any issue but on the internal portal of Griffis, I heard a resident complaining about multiple incidents with them in a short while.Neighborhood: 5/5I was able to walk to my Amazon office (Doppler) in 13 mins; generally takes less than 15 minutes. Very close to downtown: groceries, shopping, restaurants, barbers, all places to address quick needs are at walking distance.Office Staff: 5/5Have concerns? No worries, talk to Brandie, she will help, nothing to worry about there.Post Move-out Bill: 3/5After the move out they charged for small things, which I believe should have been ignored in courtesy. The bill was nominal but it is just that it wasnt in lines with my overall image of Griffis. They earn so much, why not spend a few dollars from own pocket to prepare apartment for the next tenant. Is it because the person is leaving so now you dont care as much?Move-out reason:I found a better deal closer to my office, though I still miss the serenity of 1-227.Best thing:Noiseless apartment.Worst thing:My apartment had a very small commode in the washrooms. I really hated that.Worst experience:I took over lease from the previous tenant and moved in before doing the paperwork. Ran into Emily and she told me I was not allowed to stay; not once but at multiple occasions. I told her that the previous tenant was busy and was not able to come but she didnt understand my situation. Brandi was not in the office those days, but when she was back she handled the case very professionally. That said, after proper paperwork was done, I didnt have any issue with Emily.
Brandi and Tatiana are AMAZING at what they do - I have had less experience with other staff, but always really responsive and helpful. They are extremely lovely to chat with as well :)
Ive lived here post-renovation so i didnt have to deal with any of mess/frustration those can cause. I love it here. Very friendly community, easy to meet people art the bbq grills, etc. I get along very well with the office mgmt.
Nice place but no public transit access. Parking is meh.
Just signed my third lease. I love my view, the layout, the pool. I find the staff to be helpful and attentive as well.
When we lived here it was Berkshire on Elliott. The Manager was combative, and unhelpful after numerous car break ins in the garage. Would argue at the drop of a hat and was disrespectful and under educated in how to deal with people. Her staff on the other hand was VERY helpful and great to work with. If Griffis kept the Manager on.... I would run from this place.
Lived here for one year. Too bad I had to leave Seattle, otherwise Id still be at Griffis.
You do not want to live here. Trust me. There are about $80 in undisclosed and pointless fees buried in the lease. The staff of the management office are rude and unhelpful. Maintenance of the building is poor and you wont have luck getting anyone to do anything about it. Live somewhere else.
Nice spot with cool vibe
I have lived here for 1.5 years. The apartments are OK but the building stinks of garbage in elevator and elsewhere. The staffs are not flexible at all. I have lived in bunch of places in seattle and I would rate them the lowest as per my experience.
Nice views. Building management are unhelpful and condescending.
Its aight.
