Lived at Metro close to 4 years from June 2017 to March 2021 in 3 different 2bd 2ba units.Staff - Right from Dana/Hailey when I moved in 2017 now to Christopher/Tony when I moved out, the staff at the Metro office was very helpful. Tony even got our rent negotiated when Equity tried to rent us out in 2018. He helped us negotiate a similar rent decrease in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic.Amenities- Metro is a no frills community with fewer amenities than most other communities in the area. The gym is almost nonexistent. It was also odd that they would keep the lounge open only during office hours. A locker was installed sometime during my stay which made it convenient to pick packages. The staff was also very helpful in taking care of larger sized packages and almost always made sure packages were not left out in the hallways overnight. They’d also drop an email if they had received a package on my behalf. One of the elevators would go down frequently. However, the Metro staff was fairly quick at all times to get it fixed. There are no recycling chutes at Metro.Security - Fob based access was enabled in 2020. Though, the elevators did not require fobs. It would have been nice to have that additional security. The staff responded swiftly to the only occurrence of a car break in during my stay at Metro. It was common to see security patrol at night.Apartments - Appliances in all units i stayed in were fairly new (except the heating system which still has a non digital control) and in good working condition. There are no ACs as is common for most Seattle apartments. Most apartments are entirely carpeted which did make keeping them clean time consuming.Maintenance - Except during the pandemic, I found that maintenance requests handled fairly quickly.Garage - I didn’t have a car. However, a friend living in Metro did. Parking is relatively tight and it can be quiet tough to safely get the car in and out given the space.Views - The Metro deck offers amazing views of Elliot Bay, downtown and Space Needle. The last unit I stayedin Metro had views of the bay from every single window and patio in the unit. That alone was worth the minor inconveniences I had at Metro.Move out - I decided to move out only because my roommate and I wanted to get our own places. Tony tried his best to find 2 1 bd units for us in Metro but did not have vacancies.I now live in a community close to Metro but terribly miss the views from my old apartment. I’d like to move back into Metro once my current lease is over just for the views. It’s unfortunate though that even with modest amenities, rents at Metro are not much less than brand new communities with way better amenities in the area. Even so, I recommend Metro highly for the views, helpful staff and proximity to everything Lower Queen Anne has to offer.
This place is in a perfect location! Close to the sound, Seattle center, and down town. Walking distance to Safeway and CVS Pharmacy as well as a bus stop. Management is wonderful, Tim and Julie are great to work with. They always responded well to our maintenance requests and gotten things fixed quickly. We love it here! Lots of amenities!
From the very start, the staff has been unbelievable! So kind and helpful, not to mention the apartments are amazing! Great price for the size and area, amazing views and amenities. After not having a good experience with other complexes, Stephanie & Dana did everything they could to make us feel at home. Definitely recommend!
Although I didnt signed the lease with them, the leasing consultant Tony Broyles provided a detailed information about the apartment. He provided the pictures of the available apartment as well as the virtual tour.
Metro is a gorgeous community. My tour was amazing and packed with lots of information. Everything was so clean, the hardwood floors add a classier touch to the units, and the staff are wonderful. Chris was so communicative every step of the way. Its nice to have people who care! Bonus points for the property being within walking distance of great coffee shops and restaurants.
We lived here a while ago and had a great experience. The construction caused our view to go away but other than that it was great.
Some of my friends were moving from St. Louis, so we had to reserve our unit before we got to see it. The unit was even more spacious than I initially thought, and I was really surprised to see that we had a really good view of the Space Needle. There is also a rooftop deck that has grills and a very nice view of the water. The apartment is very close to the buses and several supermarkets. Whenever theres been an issue someone from maintenance has come out the same day to fix it. Chris and Dana have been very welcoming and have gone above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable in our new apartment. So far so good!
The rooftop views here are amazing and the staff is awesome!! Could not have ask for a better experience. Super dog friendly! Walking distance to Seattle Center and Key Area not to mention all the fun little restaurants. If you love city living, which I do, Metro on First is the place for you ;)
We really enjoy living at Metro on First. Recently we resigned a lease and the main reason we decided to lease again is because of the quality of the management. Looking at other apartments and then reading online reviews, it becomes apparent that many people struggle with challenging property management situations. We feel lucky to have found such solid professionals in Christian, Benjamin and Ken. They are personable, hardworking, and reasonable individuals. I especially enjoy coming home to a stress free building and having such pleasant interactions with all of them.
We lived at Metro on First for just over two years and really enjoyed our time there. The staff was helpful, and the apartment is in a great location if you work in downtown/SLU or if you enjoy running along the Sound. Its a pet friendly building and all the pets there during our time were great and well behaved (no noise issues or otherwise). The recently installed Amazon Hub/Locker was convenient as well. If there is one improvement I could recommend, it would be that the fitness center is dated - though functional for really rainy days. All in all, good place to live.
Prices start in a reasonable ballpark and increase 20-30% per year, gym is unusable (treadmill skips > 6mph, missing dumbells), no central air outside of the halls. Luxury apartments in the area will be cheaper (in the long run) and nicer.
We have lived here for two weeks, and so far, everything has been great! We moved across country and saw a dozen places before choosing. This was #1 on the list. All of my complaints have to do with general apartment living, which is brand new to our family. We occasionally hear the neighbors above and below, but overall, the sound is minimal. Prices are lower here because of the age of the building and lack of amenities found at some newer places, but there is a gorgeous rooftop deck with amazing water views! If you are super into working out, you will probably join a gym anyway, but the small fitness room is more than enough for me with free weights, treadmill, elliptical, and bike. Office/maintenance staff takes care of everything right away. Only thing I wish we had was A/C, but it seems most places are without, and the ocean breezes arent bad. Highly recommend!
Metro on first is an amazing community and staff go above and beyond to answer questions and address concerns. My tour was amazing, the property was very clean/well kept and is also close to many restaurants, bars and the Space Needle.
The views are amazing. The attentiveness of staff....awesome and the accessibility to everything wonderful in Seattle is fantastic
Safe location in Lower Queen Anne thats near a number of grocery stores and the major transit center at Westlake Park. When we were there last year, they helped us solve our parking problems (large truck; not conducive to Seattle).
Best apartment Ive ever had! I was looking around for a place for a couple of weeks and just didnt get a good vibe from any where until I came here. Christian was super friendly with emailing me to schedule an appointment and even stayed late on a friday to show me the apartment. The roof deck was awesome, the view was awesome, the location was awesome, and Christian was awesome so I signed.Since then Ive gotten a chance to know the whole staff and theyre all wonderful and super helpful whenever I need anything. I had sink leak, and it was fixed the same morning. I had a fridge issue and they replaced the whole fridge while I was at work, and even put everything back in the fridge like in the exact place I had it before... that was kind of trippy actually.Any way, you really cant ask for more in an apartment complex in my opinion!
I have lived here for almost 2 years. Its a great location with a great office and service team. The few maintenance issues Ive had were all fixed the same day. I have ZERO complaints and recommend this building to anyone that wants to live in Lower Queen Anne.
Beautiful roof top view. Building has a lot of character. Plenty of parking
I could hear every step the neighbors took. One of my neighbors got drunk and vomited in the elevator and on the balcony causing vomit to be down the side of the building. My car was damaged in the parking garage. There were no assigned spots and no limit on size of vehicle. Twice I had SUVs park so close I couldnt get into my car to go to work. They kept my deposits when I left even though I had the place professionally cleaned.
Not only are the building and amenities gorgeous but everyone I have met has been wonderful - from neighbors to the awesome leasing staff!
I moved to Metro on First in September. The folks here made my transition from one Equity property to Metro very easy, no transfer fee, etc. I like my new home. I find it comfortable and well appointed. I waited to write a review until I lived here long enough to really form an opinion and I have nothing to complain about. I want to thank Christian Villafuerte, Ken Zepeda, and Benjamin Hodson for making my move here a very positive experience.
Clearly things have gone down hill here since there has been many replacements
