Short staffed excused doesn’t cut it anymore. Most people collecting never worked so they never were and still are not unemployed. First, can’t figure out how to process AAA vouchers as payment on vehicle. 2nd vehicle given was not only filthy I side (but branded with a sterilized sticker, but also had flat tire. Went back to desk, were another woman’s ignition key wouldn’t start her car in addition to flat tire. They take care of us, give us both knew vehicles. Thinking nothing of the new car we set off to Disney to arrive at hotel unpack and leave for dinner to discover the 2020 Mazda CRX silver color that they gave us is infested with cockroaches. There are plenty more pictures than attached to this post. Car was also dirty inside, but not as bad as other one, but they knew the car was infested with roaches when they gave it to us bc there were no floor mats in the vehicle. $500 to rent a car I am scared to death to drive in. Hoping they resolve tomorrow otherwise going to BBB.

Be careful! We requested the fuel purchase option when we checked out the car and learned that it wasn’t actually put into our contract by the employee. We were unknowingly charged the $9.99 a gallon upon return of the car and now the company is refusing to help us get any kind of refund for the difference in fuel.

Hertz was curious and kind however I would recommend not using the option to pay for your gas ahead of time they charge 40 dollars and the tank is only able to hold 25 bucks worth they do offer you a free upgrade with it other than that its not worth it really.. service was acceptable and the car was clean and ran well.. no issues all around good value.

If I could have given this company a Zero stars, I would have.. My husband and I rented a Hertz car through Expedia, the pick up location was at this airport. It was Superbowl night and our plane landed at St. Pete airport. We went to the Hertz counter and spent almost an hour trying to find someone to help us. After spending an hour on the phone with Hertz and Expedia, we were told that this counter at the airport is CLOSED. The location had been closed a while ago and no one let us know that we needed to go to a different location to pick up our reserved car. We had no vehicle and all the other vehicle counters were closing. Hertz would not help us in any way and Expedia is worthless. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. I have all the paperwork to prove this actually happened. I cannot believe they still have their logo registered at this location, when they are not even there.

My husband I rented a car for a long weekend. We were asked twice by the front desk woman if we wanted them to refuel and we said no both times. The car itself was not bad but it had some rather decent stains in the front passenger seat (almost looked like melted crayons) so I used a towel to sit on afraid it would attach to my clothes). Otherwise the car was fine.When we returned the car we filled up a mile away on the way back in. The next day I get the bill and they charged us over $100 for refueling a whole tank! I called the front desk and they said they would look into it. Called me back the next day and left a message saying they did see in the fuel logs we returned it fully fueled (which it was not when we actually got it in the first place so they got more gas then they started with) so they will be sending over the request to get a refund. I called customer service two weeks later trying to know the status...there are no records of this report being filed and the CSR wanted me to call back the Sanford location to get them to file the report. This is not my job! I already did my job by bringing it to their attention and being told it was being taken care of. Now it appears to have disappeared in thin air.

Family and I planned a Disney vacation and had our car rental paid in full a month in advance upon arrival. We landed and immediately went to pick up our vehicle (Small Suv)and was told policys have changed and that we were offered a smaller vehicle. It would not fit our family and meet our needs as we paid for a SUV to meet that need. Then they decided to go back on the policy change which we were never informed of and told us they could not rent us a vehicle. My spouse got upset and then when we asked for a manger, he threatened to have my spouse arrested. We called corporate and asked for a refund and told them what had just unfolded, they said it would take 7-10 business days to refund the money. Ive called 3 times and its been 13 business days and now they tell me it just was approved and look for it in another 7-10 business days. Just a all around great company......🙄

Made a reservation online, quick and easy.Arrived to Hertz an hour earlier then I had scheduled. (Car was already waiting for me.)Super friendly staff, gave me directions to the car.The car was very clean, new car smell, nothing was broken or damaged.Took maybe 10 minutes from the time I arrived at the Car Rental Center to driving on the road. (5 Minutes for a safety check and setting the mirrors)The return was just as quick and simple.Staff was again, super friendly, and did a double check to make sure I didnt leave anything behind.Chose an email receipt as I was running late.Final total matched the quoted price online, plus taxes and fees.Highly recommended Hertz at SFB airlines!!

This is one of the best companies I have ever had any interaction with. The gentleman who works late night (Dustin) is incredibly helpful. Not only was he willing to stay until 4 IN THE MORNING for our delayed flight (a feat which other companies did NOT do), he also took the time to make sure my wife and I had a proper vehicle for our vacation. He walked us out and showed us where our vehicle was, even provided several travel tips for the area. Thank you Dustin for your assistance. Your excellent customer service just earned Hertz mine and my company’s business.

CHeck out was fast along with drop off which is always a plus. I also love that it is connected to the airport so you dont have to travel far with your luggage. The opportunity comes in the selection of cars. The choices within the category were only 2 different make/model and neither had any luxuries. I would assume that spending more gets more but sometimes all cars have a few perks. It served its purpose though but nothing above.

Arrived in Orlando Stanford airport late, and found out our reservation was for MCO airport.We were in a bind.The Hertz counter people were very friendly and professional.Not only did they get us a car and a good deal they gave us the military discount and as well as the triple A discount so we could return the car and not have to fill it up.They also upgraded our car for free.Highly recommend them .Thank youDan and Lisa Shepard

Worst experience ever. We had a reservation for a van and because my mom lost her ID yesterday she brought her passport and paper driers license that the DMV issued her and is a legitimate license yet because hertz is the WORST they would not except it. Yet the start of our conversation from the manager was “We won’t let you leave without a smile on your face” and yet was very rude and we did not leave happy. luckily the very amazing company of enterprise had an opening and accepted everything. They may cost more but there customer service is worth it 10000%!!!! Enterprise rocks!!!!

My wife was flying alone to Sanford and I wanted to do something special as she was super nervous. I called down to the office there and asked them about doing something for her and they were totally on board. Talked to John and he was a cool guy that was willing to jump at the chance to make it a cool experience. In a world of corporate I dont cares, this was a breath of fresh air. Thanks, guys!

The only reason Im giving one star is because zero isnt an option. My son and his buddy were very misled when renting a car from the airport. The guy at the counter gave them false information and now a week after the car was returned, they took $374.57 out of my sons account. They gave us a complete runaround when trying to find out why and where this charge was coming from. One person would tell us one thing and someone else would tell us something different. We have rented cars before and never had problems with other companies. We will NEVER rent a car from Hertz again. They have the worst customer service and mislead their customers. Make sure you ask to see any and all paperwork before signing anything. This is how they screw over their customers and by the time you realize it, its to late and its not easy trying to contact someone and when you do, they are rude. Avoid Hertz!!!!!!!

If I had the option to give them negative or zero stars, I would.With my past experience with rental car companies, I tend to be very cautious.I am a great driver, a good human and value the services and products I pay for.When I rented a car from the Hertz location at Orlando Sanford, they offered to fill up the car when I returned it for a fee...I, being a good human on a budget, declined this service.Prior to returning this vehicle on time, I filled the tank up with gas, took pictures of the fuel gauge as proof and am glad I did so because this location is a rip off.The crooks at this location charged me to having returned the car with 6 whole gallons less than what it was given to me with...which is a lie. Someone at this location either took this car for a joy ride (which is a sign of bad management) OR they are legit crooked and make their money by ripping off their clients.Do not rent a car from this location! I will never rent a car from Hertz any where around the world and am going out of my way to let every single person I know that even if they do try to protect themselves, Hertz will hurt their bottom line.Hertz, you should be ashamed of yourselves and know that companies like you are perfect examples of greedy rich companies getting richer by mistreating their clients and ripping them off.You all need to look yourselves in the mirror, reach down deep in your souls and come to the realization that you are bad people running a bad company with bad business practices.Shame

I accidentally booked a car at Orlando International, because thats where I thought I was flying. I had no idea there was another international airport in Orlando (Sanford). Anyway, John was so incredibly helpful and understanding, he got us a great car, and even saved us some money. Apparently this mix-up happens frequently in Orlando. Ill be back with Hertz again and again. Next time, itll be at the correct location. ;-) Thanks John!

I have rented cars from Hertz many times up north, so I figured this would be just as easy. They wouldnt take my debit card as I had just gotten married and I had a different last name on my license. When my husband came to pay for the car, they messed up his birthday and almost wouldnt give us a car. They also ran a credit check. It has never been this complicated and never took more than 5 minutes to get a car. It took us over 1/2 an hour and they almost forgot to give us the car seat we had requested.

When I returned it I was running late so I left it with half a tank expecting it to be refueled and charged but they charged me a full take of gas. Check-in was lengthy, but it wasnt the fault of the local desk. Because my flight got cancelled, it caused a myriad of problems. Long story short, the guy at the desk was extremely helpful and patient in getting me signed up and out the door. The car was clean and well maintained. There was no one to check-in with when we returned the car, which was a little disappointing.

I have an upcoming trip and scheduled a car pick up at the wrong location. I dont think I was really allowed to change the pick up spot, but Jafari helped me straighten it out out of just pure kindness and understanding. He did not have to as it was my error. I asked the price, and I was told I need to pay more than 150 dollars for only one night of car rental. Are you serious?? Clearly the man at the service wanted to rip off as clearly we were in need, and their website quote was 150 dollars for a week!! Terrible employee. Terrible company!

I just got off the phone with whoever is working the counter about an upcoming trip and he was very rude and seemed annoyed that I was asking him a question. He gave short answers and blatantly told me that he didn’t know the answer and then hung up the phone on me when I said thank you. He didn’t even say goodbye. The employee at the desk was very unprofessional (Dustin). I reserved my vehicle weeks in advance, but when I got there the vehicle that I reserved was not there. Dustin told me that reserving a specific make or model was not possible, so with that said, he gave me a different make and model which had a service light, check engine light, and traction control light on. Dustin did not notice them and I was told that my vehicle was ready in the parking lot. After returning to the the counter I was left with no option but to take a smaller car. I told Dustin that the vehicle that was given to me was too small (a tiny trunk and very uncomfortable seats). There were other vehicles in the parking lot, but the Employee insisted that those cars were reserved for other clients. (Hey! He told me I could not reserve the toyota I ordered in the first place) I asked him for the Manager and he refused telling me there is no manager in a very disrespectful way.Then I left with the Kia Soul and no other option and started making phone calls to find another location where a better vehicle was available. The back seats were so small and uncomfortable that made the ride so unpleasant. After a 2 hour ride, the passengers in the back started complaining about back pain due to how uncomfortable those seats were. After 6 hours of non-stop calling other locations, we found the only location that was able to help us with another vehicle. What a difference. We did not enjoy 60% of the trip because of the time we wasted trying to fix this. I will not work with this company again. There is only 1 respectful employee out of the hundreds.

Oh where do I begin! I am a company and corporate account holder with Hertz. I booked with Sanford/Hertz office approximately 2 weeks out prior to pickup. I booked a large SUV class Yukon/Suburban class to support corp client transportation. I arrive to Hertz Sanford approx 1 hour early and check in with female attendant. She then advises me that they do not have any large SUV vehicles, as they got really busy the evening prior. She advised I could take what give they have i.e. mini van and I could drive to MCO/Airport to see if they have a large SUV.I advised the attendant that I booked 2 weeks prior and had just called Hertz Sanford 3 day ago to confirm the importance of a large SUV being available. The attendant then advised me that I was 1 hour earlier than the original scheduled pickup anyway, and that it was not her fault that I the customer came early. She was rude and actually dismissive! My co-worked and I both looked at each-other in dismay.Hertz Corp i have not issue with! The female attendant would be better suited washing and vacuuming out cars, nowhere in sight of the public or actual customers. The managers or schedulers at Sanford failed to slot cars or schedule outgoing orders as needed.If you just want what ever car Hertz Sanford will give you, then youll likely be ok. And if you are satisfied with NO or rude customer service then youll also be just fine.But, if you require or book a specific vehicle then you are gambling and should book with another carrier or MCO-Orlando.It pains me to have such harsh review, but it also sucked for me to run-around half a day trying to fix my problem and get the correct vehicle, when I could have just booked at MCO in the first place.

Original car that was assigned had damage on the fender and scratchs all over the vehicle. We went back into the office and they assigned a new car that was satisfactory. Of course, we had to pay an up charge. Then, we returned the vehicle with the keys in the car and there was no one around. Got home and had an e-mail with extra charges for fuel. We filled up before returning the car. When I called, they wanted me to fax the fuel receipts. Luckily, I had them and did so. It has been two weeks and I havent seen a refund. I would NEVER rent from them again!!

Car was in okay shape. Lots of scratches on the exterior. Interior was clean but it the car had over 18,000 miles on it so you could tell it had been driven a lot. The selection at this location was MUCH smaller than the MCO lot (we knew that going in but thought there would be a few more options provided). The staff was not very helpful and seemed somewhat annoyed when I asked a few questions. Well use this location again because its a cheap airport to fly in to, but I hope the rental car options improve in the coming months.

We were exited to go on vacation with our 2 yr old son for the first time. We signed all paperwork and we were given a pamphlet with estimated charges inside. The total at the bottom of the paper was exactly what I anticipated. Unfortuneltly we were blindsided hertz incredibly shady business practices. The gentlemen at the counter asked us if we wanted to add a driver so we just put both mine and my husbands photo ID on the rental. He never told us about the $100 charge for that and we never received a final receipt until we called several days and customer service was rude and not helpful at all. Dont use this company!

We picked up our rental at Sandford airport in Orlando May 2016 and the van was very dirty. Cup holders filled with candy and old food (we have pictures of it). The gentleman working the desk was not very helpful when we told him how dirty it was. He did not believe us at first and then we showed him the pictures. After the pictures he gave us a new van, at that point our family was so hot and tired and wanted to get to our resort that we just got in and left. Only to discover it was dirty as well. Sand from the beach in the seats and floor and a used bottle of water from the previous renters. The vehicle worked fine and drop off was easy at Orlando International airport, but the cleaning/detailing crew and customer service at SFB airport needs serious improvement!

Im only giving one star because I cant give zero. My husband and I were just off the plane, on the first day of our honeymoon when we went to pick up our vehicle. Since we were paying for a wedding as well we wanted to save money so we booked through Priceline. What Priceline didnt tell us was that there was a $200 security deposit. We get to the counter and Dustin was there to help (supposedly). As soon as we approach the counter he tries to sell us a Benz because the car we got no one wants to travel in and he proceeds to tell us how bad of a car it is. After we refuse to pay $350 extra dollars (he claims its normally an extra $300 A DAY but hes doing us a favor) he says ok, and tries to put un in another car for $200, we refuse, all of a sudden its an extra $50. At that point I was so ready to get to the resort we just said yes. After all of this he hits us with the $200 which was not on Priceline AT ALL (we went back and looked) and so we call Priceline and she apologizes and says that on the site at the bottom it says to call Hertz for extra fees (who knew). Anyway, we go back to the counter and I pull out my credit card (the reservation is in my husbands name) and Dustin says As long as I have a card. I then realize I only have $180 on my card so I call Capital One to make a payment and they say that the only way it can be posted immediately (since my bank is closed and they cant call to verify funds) is for me to western union the payment. So we take a $40 taxi to the nearest Walmart (no western union etc in the airport), make the payment, come back and Dustin now says oh now I need to switch everything to you in your name I couldnt believe it. I had only brought my passport because I hadnt planned on driving at all. I told him that he just said it didnt matter whose card and he gets all big eyed and says (lies) to my face I never said that! And thats it. Im near tears at this point. No apology, just a bold faced lie and a look of uninterest and annoyance. We got back in a cab ($124 to get to the Sheraton Vistana Resort) and I call Hertz and the lady on the phone is equally rude and detached and just says well theres nothing I can do for you. My husband online chatted with Priceline and they apologized for the confusion and for Dustins ridiculous behavior and not only refunded our money (even though they have a no refund policy) and even tried to help us get a car through someone else! I really have no polite words for Hertz and I can guarantee you you will never get my business again. I work for a hotel 4 minuets away from a major airport and I am often asked about rental cars and such and I can tell you now I will steer them clear. Very very poor customer service.

Because of sand in the vehicle, that the return person deemed as cigarette ashes, I was charged an additional $315! Absolutely ridiculous! The people at Budget could tell the difference, but some how Hertz determined that it was not sand. Will never return and I advise that if you do go there, do not do what you do in Florida and visit any where with sand!

Something I didnt like about Hertz is that when you return the car they dont check it in front of you. And then the surprises arrive. Eye! Be very careful with that detail (bad service) from hertz. Pay close attention.And to top it all, the one who attended me was a chubby white man (blond with red hair) who answered me quite unhappy when I told him that I should check the car in front of me. Watch out for these hertz employees.
