Robin and Maliah at Sanford/Orlando airport are amazing! Fast and very accommodating! Totally recommend! Upon return just as amazing even notice a charge that should not of been there and saved $14. My truck had to get a new tire and they were very helpful as I was on the road in a panic. I would drive out of my way if all National were like this.
National is always the rental car company for me. Very fast pickup and drop off being an Emerald member. People are always pleasant even though they work under some tough conditions.
Even though my reservation was with National, everything was handled by Alamo staff. The walk from the terminal to the rental car desk in the garage (the only desk that was open) takes about 8 minutes, and since I have a bad knee, this was challenging. Alamo staff were handling all reservations for Enterprise, Alamo, and National customers. Not a smooth process. Staffer seemed to have trouble finding my reservation, so I was glad to have printed out my confirmation number. On the up side, I was very glad to see all employees masked and using sanitizer during the COVID pandemic.

International Airport a Top ChoiceWe rented an SUV for an extended road trip and National (my husbands preferred provider for business rentals) at SFB Airport had the vehicles, the price, and top notch professional staff. An agent assisted us in selecting the best vehicle for our needs (we were traveling many miles over three weeks time) and we were extremely satisfied with our experience and the service. We felt welcome and appreciated. And, we had a great vehicle for our trip. We would highly recommend National.
The Sanford airport is where we rented from and the National counter was routing people to the Alamo counter which was all the way at the end. But the attendant getting the car drove up in the best they had so we were very pleased with the selection!
Car smelled like cigarettes. Windshield was dirty. No washer fluid in reservoir. SO I stopped and bought some and filled it up. Realized most of the grime was on inside of windshield. Worst car rental experience ever,
Other than the inconvenience of having to drag your luggage down a rather lengthy outdoor walkway and the combination of several agencies in one service center, the rental was great. Hopefully National will get their own home closer to the terminal soon.
Day 3 of my 7 day rental and the side mirror falls out and is dangling by wires. Call National in Sanford Florida, they say they are busy with customers and will call back. No call back. Vehicle not safe to drive. Day 5, I call and same response and lack of follow up. I found a service number on my contract and called them. It was a Canadian number but they routed me to the US support line. They said to drop it off at my nearest National but would not do anything about the charges, told me to call the Sanford location. Guess what, no follow up from them. Will not rent from them again.
With work going on at the sanford fl airport the natioal rental was handled by alamo whos sight is remote {at least 2 blocks away)). Im a person with limited mobility and both acquiring and returning my vehicle was quite difficult.They need to implement a better system.

I recently rented a car at Orlando-Sanford International Airport The experience couldnt have gone any smoother. When I walked up to the counter everything was done before I got there. They handed me a set of keys and away I went. The car was clean and full of fuel, it was well appointed and a pleasure to drive. When I returned the car a few days later it took only about two minutes for them to check the car back in. I will certainly use National again and recommend them to any traveler.

The car pickup went quickly. They don’t offer the “go straight to the car” option at Sanford like Orlando International does, but there was no one in line ahead of me, so no problem. Got a VW Tiguan SUV for the same rate as an intermediate sedan, also good. Drop off super easy. Park it and hand over keys.
I had a great experience. I wanted to change the credit card I used to hold my reservation. However since it was so early the person that should take care of it was not at the front desk. The young lady checking the car in came inside and took care of me. It was not her job, but she did not let that stop her! Talk about great customer service!!! I will definitely use National again just because of this experience.
All went well. Our plane was the last one to land at Sanford, Fl. The agent, Maria, was waiting and was so pleasant.It was also easy to return. We would use National again.
National staff are are courteous and professional. The only reason I did not give a 5 star and this is probably out of their control but the cleaning of the cars needs to be better. The last several cars I have rented smell like cigarette . But that always comes down to the smoking customers who can not follow the rule .
Staff was super friendly and very helpful - dropped off at St. Pete/Clearwater (PIE) airport and no problems with drop. Two reasons here for not giving 5 stars and the first is Orlando Sanford doesnt have an Emerald Aisle to bypass the counter. The other reason has nothing to do with this location, its a corporate decision. If you go through tolls National charges a ridiculous $3.95 fee per day (some tolls in Florida are electronic only or coin only so you dont necessarily have a choice but to have them pay tolls for you). Even if you use one 50-cent toll, theyll charge you $3.95 convenience fee. Seems quite excessive to price gouge your customers like that. Again, the employees at this location did alert me to the fees, so no fault of theirs, but at times, there was no way to avoid no cash tolls.
At the Sanford Fl airport location- I really missed the ability to go and get in a car and leave. Having to wait I’m a single line with Almo, Enterprise and National customers was not ideal. The wait was over 20 minutes.
I recently rented a car from National and was met with April at the Sanford Airport location. She made the process so easy for us and let us choose the car we wanted and came out to show the cars that were available. The service not only awesome but very personable. I would recommend National anytime to anyone. They have great line of choices of great cars! Go rent from them!
When we arrived home after our flight, we realized that we had put our personal keys in the drop box instead of the keys for the rental vehicle. The folks at National were very helpful when we called, and mailed our keys back to us immediately. Their customer service was outstanding. Also, our rental car was affordable and top notch. We will definitely use National again.
I love National Car Rental, but wasnt happy with my last rental last week.Booked a Mini Van for a week out of Sanford Airpot and once I got there I was directed to Alamo building due to Covid19. Line was huge and had to wait for 45 min with Alamo, Enterprise and national customers. No priority for Emerald Executive status at all.Once I got to the counter I got a rude Alamo agent that wasnt happy about the huge line and didnt stop complaining. I got my contract and went to pick up the only minivan that was out there. Dirty and smelly car. Didnt have any other option and didnmt want to send in line again!Why National cant open their counter and provide the amazing service they always do?Why Alamo customer service is so bad?Why the cars are so dirty?Why no priority to Emerald executives?Why do I need to stand in line for so long?Covid19 cant be an excuse for everything.Not happy at all.A. National within the Sanford International Airport in Sanford is in the Alamo-Enterprise building few blocks from the terminals. I could not use the Emerald Club pass and had to wait on line with the other rental companies customers.
The staff was extremely helpful, the car was new-ish and very clean. Drop off was really fast and close to the terminal. Great experience with National at the Orlando Sanford airport.

The car maintenance condition was very poor. The tire pressures were either very low or extremely high. The gas tank was an eight of a tank low and the car smelled extremely bad with tobacco smoke. National needs to review there car maintenance procedures. We were very unsatisfied.
First time renting from National. I had human contact with 3 individuals. All 3 exhibited outstanding customer service skills. I casually mentioned to the fellow checking me in that I didnt care for the car due to the auto shut off. It was nothing to do with National. I received a call from National the same day asking how they could correct the issue.They have earned my future business with CS such as this. Good job guys. Keep it up.

The pickup area is conveniently located near the baggage claim. Picking up the car was the quickest and least painful experience Ive ever had at a rental car agency. Ive rented a few vehicles and generally all goes well, but this was by far the best. My car was beautiful and still had that new-car smell. I am an Emerald Club member through my employment and it really made the difference. I plan to continue to use National through the Emerald Club in the future!
Everything worked out not only great, .... BUT SUPER!!! I rented from National with a Tuesday (Dec 17th) pick-up at 9am, and car was ready. I got a BRAND NEW NISSAN ALTIMA!!! Car ran great of course. I had to return the car before 5am on Saturday, Dec 21st, and to my glee, there WAS a young lady employee there to take my express return page. It was both fast and simple. And close to terminal. Only problem i had was NOT with National, but the sign indicating drivers to turn left to the return area. All other signs were lit, BUT NOT THAT ONE. So if you are returning a rental car to National, go past the brightly lit main crosswalks, be in far left lane, and keep your eyes on lookout for the rental return sign on left. It comes up just a few feet after a sharp left beyond the crosswalks.
Fantastic customer service and great selection of vehicles. I was concerned that they might not be open late because my flight was not getting in until close to midnight, however, they assured me they will stay open until the last flight is in. Dena was our agent and she was super helpful and friendly in getting us in the right vehicle. Also, be sure to join the Emerald Club, its free and the perks are great!
Everything about the process was flawless the only complaint I have is how extreme the price of the rental can fluctuate daily.

Love this car rental company business model. Reserve your car size, arrive go straight to the cars bypassing standing in line at the counter, choose any car in your category, get i. Drive to the exit, show them your license and drive car for with a piece of paper and a map if you want one. Not the cheapest out there but certainly the easiest. Have used National for years now and I love it when I walk past car rental counters where 20 or 30 people are standing in-line waiting to pickup their rental and I’m moments from getting into my car and driving away...believe their commercial too, it’s spot on!
Nice vehicle which was brand new and had a lot of amenities included. The mileage for the car, Ford Fusion, was rather poor given the way I drive. Like an old man:).
This was my first experience with National and I couldnt be more pleased. We have always had good service with Avis, but I was offered a great rate for a 2-week, 8-passenger minivan with National when I purchased our Disney tickets from Undercover Tourist. I was skeptical going with a different rental company, but we were very pleased. The staff at Sanford International Airport was exceptional both for check out and check in. After arriving at Orlando Sanford airport, I raced to my reserved rental car kiosk to find the had left for the day. My flight had been delayed, and I called from the originating airport to confirm someone would be there. Seriously- after the adventure I had with this rental car- no one would believe I would give a good review. But- the employees of National stepped up and were amazing turning a potential fiasco into a very positive experience.My first drive was 2 hours and about halfway into the middle of nowhere on a county highway, car alerts went off like crazy. I did not feel safe stopping so I drove on to my destination praying the car would make it watching all indicators for trouble. Many of the cars amenities had stopped working but the engine was rock solid.Roadside Assistance was helpful with suggestions (LaTanya) and we determined I would wait til next day and contact local National site in Ocala.The next day both Amanda and Trey were supportive and delightful with potential solutions. Having the car checked needed to wait til next day (Monday) and be done easily rather than ruin my vacation.Popped into Meineke with the alarming car next day and they said after testing the rental car it should not be driven. Dropped it off to Trey and Amanda and they ordered up a new one for me.Literally- I received a car the next day with 8 miles on it. Sweet!The next day I returned to airport without a rental sticker on my vehicle and they checked me in. When I told them - I anticipated partial credit for not having a viable car for 4 days they sent me to chat with manager Dena.She reviewed the record of the events in the system, expressed sympathy for my troubles, and came to a very agreeable settlement.Every National employer really stepped all along the way. What could have been a really bad situation just became an unfortunate incident.I will definitely be back.

I rent almost exclusively from National and get great service but this location is the worst location in the U.S. period! I would rent from this location when i wasnt flying and just needed a car. Never anyone at the desk, will never honor Executive benefits unless you press them, they dont have the select your car and go option and the customer service sucks. Every time they give me a car that has been smoked in. Three times in a row the manager was suppose to get back in touch with me and never has. Now I go to Orlando International Airport to pick up a car.
Great experience renting from National. Reserved a Hyundai Elantra or similar and ended up being upgraded to a Ford Mustang Convertible which was perfect for the Florida weather. I drove 2 hours to return the vehicle and to catch my flight home and due to not being familiar with the area I had filled up the gas tank and by the time I reached the airport it was a little below 3/4 of a tank. The gentleman that greeted me in the parking lot from National told me not to worry about it and said he hoped I enjoyed a nice time in Florida. Prices were great and the interactions I had in person with the companies employees was outstanding, fast and efficient. I will definitely rent from this company again if and when I return to the area.
I had an excellent experience all the way around. I used some free days that I had accumulated to book a mid-size car and got upgraded at pick-up to a small SUV that was exactly what we needed.

Recently started using National and participating in Emerald Club. Love it! The prices are fair, cars always nice and very clean, and A+ customer service. The app is extremely easy to use and is a huge selling point for me.
Good rental experience at a smaller airport, Sanford FL. This is worth the drive to Orlando (55 min) per cost and quick service because of the smaller market. Still good service at National but be prepared for not as large operation (i.e. counter.drop-off) of the larger airports. Attendants did push to provide excellence service and response to request.
Rented at Orlando Sanford and everything was ready for me, service was great. Super clean car!. Returned at Orlando international and the Manager took care of me, excellent service and friendly staff!

I especially appreciate getting a second driver set up for no extra charge. I was waited on right away upon arrival. Car was very new & nice. I like booking cars in FL through National Emerald Club because I know exactly what my charges will be. Sometimes when you book rental cars through the airline deals for rental cars, you end up with extra fees when you pick your car up that you didnt anticipate. I never have that problem when I book directly through National Emerald Club. It was also easy to check car back end - they had an agent in the parking lot who checked us right in and gave us our receipt. Very easy and fast.
I rented a car on Jan 17, 2018, and returned on Jan 19, 2018. I received a damage claim email from National on Mar 07, 2018. It just says balance due $1074.75 but there is no information about the damage which they are claiming. I did not do any damage and no damage reported to me when I returned the car. Almost 46 days later, they just sent an email by saying your balance due $1074.75. Readers, please share your experiences, it will help others.
Great experience! Five minute pick-up time, one minute drop-off time. Fast fast fast! National also had the best price by far of other car rental companies and did not charge extra for picking up at one airport and dropping off at another.

I recently enrolled in the Emerald club, and completely love the benefits. Being able to upgrade for free was amazing. The service was quick and easy. The only downside is that I dont have a National Car Rental anywhere close to where I live, so cant enjoy much of their benefits unless doing major traveling.
Arrived at Sanford airport. Went to rental counter and was given three choices of Emerald club vehicles for me to choose from. It was great. Drove a low mileage Chevrolet Impala for two weeks. Dropped off the car at the Punta Gorda airport. Thank you National for a great experience.

Sidney Pimenetel is a true ambassador for National and treated us with the utmost courtesy while performing her professional tasks. She is a very pleasant person with excellent people skills and we will rent again from National and definitely from Sidney.

I had another good experience with the National Car Rental team in Sanford FL last week. Their normal/posted hours end at 10 ET. I had a flight delayed multiple times and called them and they said they would be there until the flight landed, and when I arrived around midnight they were there to give me a car and get me on my way. This will be the first time I will have ever considered anything less than 5 stars for National. Ive been an Emerald Club member for years and believe National to be the best in the rental car business. My issue with this latest rental is solely with the car. It was a 2020 GMC Terrain. Why in this day and age, is GPS locked out on a car. Especially a rental. I get it, if I owned a business I would certainly look at every way to add to the bottom line, over and above opportunities to charge the customer more and what not. But its GPS. So yeah, Im going to let what should be such a simple curtesy detract from my ability to give 5 stars today to National as a company. Nationals people, great as always.

Had a good experience ...the process was painless. They were ready for me when I arrived and I was in and out in maybe 5 minutes or less. Returning the vehicle was also seamless. I rent frequently from National and Ive not yet had a bad experience.
I always rent from National and have been pleased in the past. This time, I was disappointed with the selection of mini vans available. We were given a Chrysler Pacifica and it was awful on gas, the carpets were soiled and stained, and the cup holder in front was sticky and soiled. It appeared to have been recently sprayed down with water as the outside of the van was still wet and streaking. I was going to go back to the counter to ask for another vehicle but, we were pressed for time and made the best of it. I cleaned the inside of the vehicle myself. I understand that the vehicle is a rental but, the vehicle should be cleaned before renting to the next customer.
Great experience in Sanford. Rented a 7 passenger van. We initially had problems installing child seat on Nissan van. Employee went out of his way to find a Dodge that was a much better fit for us. This was after midnight and we were the last customer of the day. Outstanding service.
Counter personnel were fast and courteous and a change in plans allowed us to change vehicles with no extra charge. Vehicle was new and had low mileage. Excellent value.
We had contract with Budget, but since the Budget office was not open National was nice enough to match the price and get us a car. They saved our trip to St Johns. Thanks Again

The website shows that National closes at 10:00 pm, and our flight was not scheduled to arrive until 10:30 pm, so I booked with Enterprise (their sister company). When we arrived shortly after 10:30 pm. the National counter was open, they changed my rental from Enterprise to National, apologized for the inconvenience, and gave me an upgrade. Check out and check in were easy. Love using National Car Rental whenever I travel!

This was my first time renting from a National location that didnt have the emerald club aisle. Not a problem here! While the other rental car places had long lines, National had no one in line. I walked right up to the counter, verified who I was and walked out with the key to the vehicle. I think the rest of my family was surprised at how quick we were in and out of this place. We were even upgraded to a higher end vehicle as well. What great service! Being an Emerald Club member, I will always rent from National first!

My newlywed wife and I came into the Sanford airport expecting a car from Turo and it never showed up. After dealing with them for over an hour and a half we decided to just rent a car. We asked Alamo and it was outrageously high and they wouldn’t hardly work with us so we decided to try National. We were greeted with a smiling face and a “how are you today”. Which was the nicest thing I had heard to that moment. After we described our terrible start to our honeymoon we were given a very nice car upgrad at the economy price! We were also told bring it back on E and don’t worry about filling it up. Did I mention this only took about 10 minuets?!?! Plus there were no hidden fees just a straight basic rate. Best customer service I have literally had in a long time. Can’t even rate these guys high enough! Would definitely recommend and will definitely do business with them again!
