Found this business a few years ago after my barber moved out of the area. Love the haircuts. The owner and employees are pleasant and easy to talk to. Before pandemic, weekend waiting times were long. During pandemic, still see customers before or after me. Very pleasant experiences at this business.

I believe David was the one who cut my hair today (Friday 9/4/20)He was so chill and super friendly. He knew exactly how and what I wanted for my hair and the end result was great! Ive had so many past experiences with other barbers just not listening to what I want and he actually listened and cut it just the way I wanted. Thanks man! I will definitely be coming back and will likely become a regular.Although the price is $30 I can definitely say in my experience that it was so worth it. We even gave him a ten dollar tip. If you can afford to come to this barber shop, go on down, I dont think youll regret it!(I went all the way from around King Road 95122 down to this place and again, worth it)

Theyre back open after COVID quarantine and I just got my haircut. Very clean, definitely following safety protocols. Esther wore a mask, face shield and gloves. They are doing appointments to keep customers distanced. Got a great haircut and the prices are reasonable. Definitely recommend.

Dave nailed it with my haircut: it looks great, and the entire experience felt very safe, even during Covid. Hes a great guy and is excellent to talk to. Was able to set up an appointment via texting, with fast response times and excellent flexibility with scheduling. Looking forward to stopping by for my next cut. Don’t come. Very bad. See the text as a proof.We came around 4pm and they asked us to text to the number in in the door. We texted and they asked us to come back at 5:30pm with my son.We come back at 5:30pm with my son and guess what ... the barber said that he’s triple booked.So, we went back home. After reaching home the lady called for us to come back for hair-cut. Are you kidding me ???The proof including the text is in the picture here.Very unprofessional. Don’t come.

I have had hair cut there since 1974. Now, granddaughter and daughter of founder run it! Wonderful part of old San Jose. My beard is unruly and they do great.

Great barber shop. Its not a hair stylist shop, just a good old fashioned barber shop. Family owned for over 50 years, not over priced. Not many barber shops around anymore. They do a great of listening to what you want and giving you a great haircut.

Found this place over the holiday break and very glad I decided to stop by. Call in the morning and tried my luck to see if it was open on New Years Eve, because you gotta look fresh for the new year. Excellent service, excellent professionalism, excellent haircut.

This will always be my boys barbershop. They like Esther and they wont go if shes not there. Very professional and the place is an old school yet surrounded by nice neighborhood.

Barbers are friendly, knowledgeable and have been cutting hair for years. Tell them about what you want and they will do it well. I have a simpler haircut so I cant comment on more difficult hair styles. 20$ for a cut + tip.Appointments arent accepted but they move fairly quickly, Ive waited between 15-45 min on Saturdays.

Friendly local barber shop, I wouldn’t call it fancy or trendy (so I like it). It’s a small place with a lot of regulars so you might wait a little for your cut, but it never seems too long. I would recommend it.

Such a great little barber shop. Only 2 chairs, but the wait wasn’t long at all. The ladies were so nice and professional. And of course a great haircut! They are cash only, so be prepared.

Ive been here twice. The first time I had a pleasant experience having my hair cut by an older gentleman. The second time however, I had a terrible experience with a middle aged woman. I asked her if she could give me a fade, and she responded back by telling me she doesnt do those types of haircuts, so I was like okay, fine, whatever. I got the other lady to help me. She also didnt look too pleased about it, but helped me anyway. After the haircut, while I was getting my back pack and jacket on, I over heard the two of them whisper about helping other people. My conclusion, I would suggest anyone of color stay clear of this location. Actually, any ethical person should stear clear. If I could, I would rate you guys negative stars because what the actual heck was that. If you guys seriously didnt want to give fades because it takes too much time then you should have just asked me to try a different Barber shop. Instead, you were visibly hostile with me and I hate to say it, but holy cow that helping other people thing has me thinking youre just a bunch of racists who actually hate helping other people.

Awesome, family-run, local business. It’s been open since the early ‘50s and one of the original owners still works there at least one day a week.You are treated like family and I always love the way my hair turns out.

I have been here maybe 5 times and Ive gotten a good haircut every time. The people are nice and they do a great job consistently. Theres always a line of regulars, but it moves fast.

In town visiting and couldnt book an appointment back home. Got in for a cut as a walk-in and they did a good job. Its very basic and reasonably priced.

Great place to get a hair cut! The barbers are very friendly. The shop is small (2 barber chairs & 5 waiting seats). So, it can seem crowded quickly... but, you can always put name down and come back later. Saturday is usually pretty busy from open to close.

Small, friendly, neighborhood barbershop. Visited for the first time a couple weeks ago and was very pleased with the result. More importantly, so was my wife. Prices are reasonable. I was informed that this is the oldest barbershop in San Jose.

This is one of if not the best haircut and beard trim I have ever received. I was in town for work and on a whim went and got a haircut.I am so glad i did. Its a small family run shop that still gives haircuts like they are supposed to be given. Friendly barbers and they even stayed late on a Saturday to get me finished up.Cant go wrong!

This a real Barbershop, owned and operated by real Barbers, not stylists. Esther has been doing this for years, and her father before that. Highly recommend it for a great cut and a shave if you need one.

Good haircut but probably wont go back. I dont like when the barbers spend more time talking than actually cutting hair, especially when they are insulting other customers after they leave. Not professional or comfortable to be around.

Worst barber I have ever been to. Dirty and extremely unprofessional!!! She had only one customer after me and she was like, please hurry up I have many customers to deal. She didn’t even show me the hair cut to ask if everthing is fine or not.

I dont remember this old barbers name but he did a REALLY good job. I just sit on his chair and he knew what I needed without me telling him. My scalp is very sensitive and I guess he knew too cause I did not feel any pain. The price was to much for me; Im visiting San Jose from Chihuahua México where I pay about 3 dollars for a haircut, but paying those extra dollars here, it was worth it. Gracias, and any time I visit I would go back and do my hair hahaha
