My experience with Fruitdale Station Apartments has been very positive. After searching for the right place for weeks my Wife and I found Fruitdale. We really liked the location and the promotional pricing was great for us. We were able to connect with Mona the next day, and setup a tour the same week. She showed us nothing but hospitality and professionalism, even when we asked her a ton of questions/requested multiple tours. The application process was straight forward, and processing only took a few days. Every employee we interacted with (front-office, security, and maintenance) have been super friendly and helpful, and we have really enjoyed the process so far.I would like to thank Mona and the team for the kindness they showed me and my family.
Our experience with Mona at Fruitdale Station has been great. Her customer service is second to none (She should be running the place if she isnt already). She assisted us throughout the entire process of our relocation. She helped us find a great spot to move into and she did it all remotely! She went above and beyond with doing video tours for us, communicating lease documents over email, many phone calls, messaging, the whole thing! Its not easy to do, but she accommodated all of our needs and was very helpful throughout the process effortlessly.Shes definitely knowledgable, friendly, and professional!
Been living here for couple years now and really like the place. Facilities are great here, especially swimming pool with spa. Outdoor area and ramp are nice to take a walk. Security has improved and there is a guard always on patrol. And lastly, staff is really nice, specially Mona in leasing office who is very friendly and helpful. She was very patient hearing our requirements and helped us find the right place.
Mona is the best! She made the whole process really smooth, went above and beyond. We are so excited to move into a community where we know we will be taken care of because of the amazing service she provides. Super easy to talk to, really happy with the whole experience and the property is beautiful and well kept.
Mona, Mona, Mona was amazing! She was incredibly patient with us when choosing a unit. In fact, she had to print out the lease at least 3 different times because I kept changing my mind with what I wanted. But she stayed so patient and helpful and willing to do anything else we needed. We were in the middle of signing one lease then she informed us that a bigger unit just became available and insisted for us to check it out and we fell in LOVE! We’ve been living here for 3 weeks now and I have to say that our experience has been great with the rest of the staff as well so far. They are really on it and I can tell that they really care about their tenants. Definitely recommend Fruit dale LUXURY apartments. They’re beautiful inside and out!
Pros- Well maintained property- Located near the San Jose Downtown and AirportCons- Property management staff is rude and unhelpful after you move-in- Unsafe (multiple thefts reported) including one in my own unit. Reported to the leasing office but was informed that Security cams dont work.- Be prepared for a hefty move out charge, forget $800 security deposit, youll be charged $1500 on top for deep cleaning and other misc. items not called out before. Upon dispute, theyll send it to collections for you to deal withSave yourself pain and stress at move out, DO NOT RENT
I have been here a little over a year. I’ll give it 5 stars for Mona at the front desk and the maintenance department who have been helpful and responsive whenever I needed them.
Its a lovely and affordable place to live.Pros:Quiet to live.Heated swimming pool.Near to i-280.Responsive to maintenance.Cons:They charged too much while moving out. I even paid about 200 bucks plus all my deposit. Even though the unit was clean and tidy at that time.No carpet in corridor.Packages left in front door were easy to got stolen. They do not have sufficient cams to track them back.
Rude Leasing StaffI usually dont write reviews but we were treated really bad and I had to post this. We were given the keys to do a self-guided tour around 4:00 PM today. We struggled to find the apartment and it took us 10 minutes to get to it. We spent 10 mins touring the apartment, we liked the place, and left the key to the apartment at the door by mistake. We had to get it back and it took like another 5 mins. When we came to the elevator, the leasing staff, was right there and was like You guys are taking forever to tour . I thought you ran away with the keys. Its already 5 o clock (when the time was 4:25).. Then she asked us if we liked the place, we said its a bit smaller that we wanted. She said thats what you get for 2400 per month. At this point I wanted to get out of the place, but my friend insisted and we checked for more details with her. When we asked if bigger units are available, she is not interested in giving those.I could see the rudeness again, and literally switched off from the conversation.I dont know why she behaved like that even after getting hold of my friends ID, may be we looked/dressed like thieves. We were not treated as a potential tenant that is for sure.If you are renting apartments for a discount, YOU DONT HAVE TO BE RUDE. And dont assume that we are there for getting that special offer.Id rather pay more and lease from a community that treats people respectfully and NOT BASED ON HOW WE LOOK.
Mona is the best person you can talk to there. As a college student she really makes you feel comfortable and takes care of you. If there are any issues with anything, Mona will take care of it as soon as possible. She has a lot of patience and I would 100% recommend her to anyone.
I recently moved into Fruitdale and the customer service I received was amazing. Mona walked me through the process and answered any questions I had along the way. The other instances where I communicated with other staff was pleasant as well. Im enjoying all the amenities that are open and happy I chose to live here.
I’ve lived here for 2 years and I love it! The staff in the leasing office are extremely helpful, and kind. They were able to help us resolve a difficult neighbor problem, and are always willing to help!! Thanks Mona!
I had lived here for 6 years and the place has gone down hill. Back when it was 1590, 1560, and 1530 the complex was quite nice. It was always quiet with mostly young professionals. The gym was well taken care of and everyone was respectful. As the 2 other buildings came in, it really went south. The gym became packed with trainers bring in non-resident clients and hogging all the equipment. Management put up signs and it would be normal for a week then go back to how it was.Parking is a total mess. Not enough underground parking and no visitor parking since residents took it. The building of 1520 has a giant garage that is always empty but they won’t let anyone else get park in there. If you have a quest over for dinner tell them to park blocks away. The building (1560 at least) has extremely thin walls and floors/ceilings. I could hear everything from my neighbors above. They had kids that would run around all night slamming doors and drawers. Later a group of young people moved in up stairs. In the morning I can hear their alarms going off and at night I can hear them on their phone.Management was horrible at any form of organization. Their way of tracking parking spots had been writing it on a map with dry erase pens. They’ve lost my change of resident form twice. Some staff are friendly enough though. The best part of the complex is Zanottos and their awesome staff and the swimming pool when it’s not filled with screaming kids. Highest rent in the area right now with Covid. Other newer complexes in the area are running specials that are about 20% lower than here. I suffered so you don’t have to, don’t live here.
DO NOT LIVE HERE.Slow to respond to work orders/queries, completely unhelpful with receiving packages if you are not home, multiple packages stolen from our apartment and they did nothing about it, severe lack of parking and way too happy to tow cars parked in timed spaces, unnecessarily strict rules in common areas, the list goes on.Plus, they overcharged us on our security deposit for cleaning costs that were unfairly assessed and that were not even quoted at move-out. When I pushed back multiple times they didnt address my queries and then they said they would not be responding any further.
I have lived here for 1 year, and I am definitely renewing another year! I lived in 4 complexes in San Jose and this one is my favorite. The price is really good for such a nice, new complex with so many amenities! Security cars are always going around, so it feels very safe compared to the rest of San Jose. The location is really great close to downtown, Santana row, Willow glen, and many parks around. My absolute favorite thing is the leasing office staff, everyone is really helpful, very responsive for any questions, and really great quality fo service overall! Thank you FDSA!
The worst experience ever, 1st it only took 3 appointments for someone to give us a tour of the building. Reason ranges from my manager took the keys home to we dont any thing we can show you when clearly showing availability. When we were able to get a tour, the rep that help is was horrible. She didnt even introduce herself,1st question was what is yours budget. We thought we going on a tour of the open units. She went out the front door and didnt even hold the door open for us and proceed to walk very fast in front of us. In fact she was about 30 yards ahead of us. We recorded it, we have to shout out for her to stop or slowdown because I cant walk that fast as I am recovering from surgery. She proceed to say, you didnt say anything. I didnt know I had to let a tour rep to slow down. Most of the other tour we been on the rep mostly explained the community and property. Not her, she was forced on cell phone. She proceed to say, we dont have time to take our time. Which was shocking to me, especially showing for potential clients. Maybe thats just me. Perhaps this place only do self guided tour. Also her dress attire was not appropriate for work, unless you are working at a club. I heard feedback from friends and colleagues that live there, but thought I give this place a try. All I have to say is this is the WORST experience and service I ever experienced, yes I will be sending an email to their HR dept along with the video
TOO many (unnecessary) notices that you feel you are being *watched* & *educated* all the time: dont do this, and dont do that. As a Silicon Valley professional, I feel like I am a student in a boarding school - that definitely lowers the standard of the complex!A part from this, the place & the pool are nice and some admins are nice and helpful.
This apartment complex is very clean, quiet, and safe with lots of amenities (i.e. gym, swimming pool, jaccuzi, a little cute park). Also, I see a security guy walking around the complex every night and it makes feel more safe. Customer service is very great as well! They are very helpful and easy to talk.
Who keeps your FULL deposit after you have left the place very clean? Only this company does!!! I have my before and after pictures with how I left the the apartment! Am thinking of getting my lawyer involved, because this is absolutely absurd! On top of them keeping my FULL deposit I now somehow still OWE them money! Ridiculous!!! Stay away DONT RENT HERE!!!!
Be prepared to lose your entire security deposit no matter how clean you leave the apartment. Lived in a 2 bedroom for less than one year and lost $800 deposit and also somehow owed another $150 on top of that. $450 for paint, $240 regular cleaning, $150 deep clean, + other misc charges. This apartment was left in great condition and I really felt these charges were unfair.
I have been living here for a year, it is an expensive place first issue is parking spaces we got 2 bedroom but we had one space although there was many free spots, they were good in maintenance when we needed them, at the end of the year they sent a lady to check the apt for any damages and she said you guys are good but they charged us as much as they could, we had one spot on the carpet in a room that we accept to change but they changed both rooms and many other unbelievable and laughable stuff, if you planning to live here be ready to lose your deposit and on top of that a big bill
Forget about the security deposit, its not coming back :)Nice expensive and clean apartments, with good management. The management promptly responds to your queries, and get things done quickly.
However good the place maybe, these guys are cheats. While leaving our place, the charged us like crazy, lacking proper justification. I wish I had seen some other comments, before renting this place out.
Ive been living at Fruitdale Station Apartments since last year and it has been an overall great experience. I work in downtown San Jose and its only a 10 min drive to work. Really convenient and close to the freeway. The apartments are always clean with people cleaning the common areas on the daily. The pool is huge and nice for a good workout. The gym is always clean and very convenient. The neighborhood is very safe and there is always 24/7 security. The leasing office staff has always been very helpful. I have nothing but good experiences with them. They are always there to help. Mona and Madina from the leasing office made sure I was well taken care of. I was moving in from a different city and they made the transition smooth. Even to this date, if I have any issues they always make sure Im taken care of.Fruitdale Station Apartments is a great place to call home and I would highly recommend to anyone.
The office was closed when we visited these apartments a week ago. The sign on the door said theyd be back in 30 minutes, so we decided to wait. My wife waited in the clubhouse and I walked around the premises, which looked very nice and seemed like they put a lot of work into it.When I came back to the clubhouse, my wife was talking to a short Hispanic male who introduced himself as James. He was telling her to purchase membership with a travel club. When I asked if he works at the apartments and could show us some units, he said no, hes the personal trainer at the apartment gym. He then offered to set me up with a free consultation for personal training at the gym and gave me his phone number. He also reiterated to my wife that she should join the travel club and tell them he referred her. It was very obvious he just wanted money from us.We left after that and didnt wait for the office folks to come back. This guy gave me the impression of a used car salesman, and I dont want to live anywhere near this shameless solicitor.
ADMINISTRATION IS TERRIBLE! The manager dont care about your problems. In the 8 months Ive been living here I already had my cars window broken and stuffs stolen from my car over night when my car was PARKED INSIDE THE GARAGE! I also had a stolen bicycle INSIDE THE GARAGE with locker. I tried to talk to the MANAGER (Albin) and people from the leasing office and they just DONT CARE at all.Be careful If you want to rent an apartment there! The security is terrible, there is no Security Cameras, full of homeless in the street and they will try to sell you a wonderful condo just lying to you, as they lied to us.During the first tour the lease women told me that they had a big Barbecue in a common area (Lie!), but after moving in I figured out that there is no barbecue at all. Every time I ask her, she tells me they are in a process to buy, but I dont see any progress at all (its been 8 months). The building have a nice Club House, but you are Not Allowed To Use. There is only one parking space in the garage and is very hard to find spots at the street, cars are often towed way in the street and the rental monthly payment process is rudimentary, you have to go every month to the office to pay in check or money order. There is no online tool to make a recurrence payments, see the payment history and everything like all the new condominiums now have, after all we are in Silicon Valley 2018.
Lived here for 2.5 years, perfect luxury experience at the price we had. No issues whatsoever.
Its a good place to catch the train
It’s been an Ok experience. It’s convenient and close to free ways but since living here, my car has been broken into and it was in my garage. My sons bike stolen and it was locked. I have neighbors who smoke and not suppose to be smoking. Even in the staircase. Rules to the pool is ridiculous. One guest allowed at the pool per apartment and have to check in on the weekends during the summer for the pool. I have a son and sometimes my nieces visit us and I can’t even take them to the pool to enjoy for the afternoon. Oh and no pool toys? What about families who have kids? Lame. Also, still old school with payment. No online payment to pay for rent. Only check or money order/cashiers check. The buildings are great but many more downs as to living here it seems. I have been here for nearly 2 years. I’m looking at my options to move. I will see.
Do. Not. Move. Here. This place is a joke. When I moved in they informed me incorrectly that some utilities were covered. Got a bill 3 months into renting telling me differently.Fire Alarms frequently went off for the building - the ultra loud kind that were ear piercing through the corridors and apartments themself.Office Staff (with the exception of Mona) was terribly unhelpful. On move out - after a decent cleaning was completed this charged over the deposit ($800) for a total “heavy duty” cleaning. When pressed for what heavy duty meant no clear answer received. When I refused to pay for something they couldn’t explain I was sent to collections. For $138. They sent me to collections. For a cleaning that could not even come close to amounting over $800.I’ve lived in a lot of places - Never have I as this kind of experience.Be warned.
I have called this place home for the last 4 years and I am glad I did. I have created close friendships here, felt safe at all times and I have enjoyed the nice amenities that the complex offers. This place is close to downtown Campbell and Willow Glen, a mere ten minutes ride/ or VTA ride to the downtown. The complex was built on stages and now that is finally finished it looks clean and beautiful. I live in one of the first buildings built but my apartment is nice inside and has this incredible light( which I would not trade for anything). The complex has a gym (decently equipped) that is accessible non-stop, an Olympic sized pool that is solar heated. Over the two years have been some property management changes but I feel that this place finally got the right person. I recently needed some appliances replacement in my apartment and I was impressed by Mr. Pasic ( I hope this is the correct name spelling) responsiveness and excellent customer service. The maintenance team was prompt and the issue was quickly taken care of. This was actually the norm in the past too...the best maintenance team I have dealt with (and I lived in 3 states and multiple cities across US). They also fixed the pool heater, bought new furniture, planted the interior courtyards, changed the water filtration system for the whole complex, reviewed some policies concerning parking violations...it is all for the better. I visited many apartments both in San Jose and the neighboring cities (actually all the way to Fremont) trying to figure out what is the best alternative for school for my daughter but there was such a discrepancy between how these places looked and what they charged that I decided to keep staying here. It made me more appreciative for what we have in term of price/amenities/accessibility and I also figured out a good school alternative. know that apartment living is not easy or ideal but I feel that while in this situation this place checks a lot of marks(at least for my family)
I have been living here for 3 years now. My rent has increased minimally each renewal. Fine, I understand the market. However, I just received my renewal letter, NO increase. Wow, I was excited. But it made sense, they have a whole new building full of empty apartments just about to go on the market. Ive been a great tenant, no trouble, pay my rent on time. I contacted them to say thank you, Id love to renew. Guess what? They lied. There was a typo on my renewal, and my rent is actually increasing by $100 / month. What kind of company gives you an offer and then when you accept it, they take it back and increase it? DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. They are deceitful.
Its the people that make a place. Were had two packages stolen since moving in, one was my glasses and the other was my husbands new phone. The apartments are access controlled, so it had to have been another resident who stole them. If you order expensive items, dont ship them here!It used to be quiet when we first moved in, but the lady who recently moved in downstairs has 3 kids and she lets them run around screaming in the courtyard. The courtyard echos and makes it impossible to work from home and not get a headache.Overall, its become more stressful to live here. As other reviewers mentioned, the demographics are changing at these luxury apartments.
Forget about your months rent deposit back even if you leave the apartment clean! Management is not friendly with these kind of things.
We have been living here for 7 months and plan to move out next month. Most staff here are very professional and helpful. Amenities are good. Maintenance guys are super efficient. The only complaint I have is that when we moved in, one of their staff told us all kinds of wrong information. Maybe she didnt even realize shes not telling us the truth. Anyway, the situation directly lead us to leave here.
This place used to be luxury living, but there are a lot of new shady people that have moved in. In my building, there is a guy with a large pit bull that lunges at everything that walks past. My husband is 6 feet tall and the dog still tried to jump on him. If that thing bites a kid, heaven forbid. There is a Filipino guy that takes over the gym with his clients that use our equipment. I find more equipment is missing or broken now.
I used to live there only a year, then we moved to another state, if I were there, I would love to move to fruitdale apartments again ! The complex are really nice ! ❤️love it
After living at FSA for 3+ years, two things forced us to move: 1) the gym has been taken over by a Filipino trainer who floods the gym with nonresidents. I refuse to pay upkeep for a gym that is supposed to be used by residents. Repeated reports by myself, other residents, and even apartment security to management were ignored. 2) The noise of the courtyard in building 1560 is worse than a playground thanks to the Section 8 families management has moved into the first floor apartments with patios.I dont know what kind of relationship James Everhart has with the management, but I have to thank him for making us hate FSA enough to move. We spent over $100K in rent the last 3 years for a 1-bdrm at FSA, and now were paying only $400 more a month in mortgage for a 3-bdrm/3ba, 2000+sqft home that we own and have already built $200K equity on! Aaaaand, theres no freeloaders at our new gym :)
The Wife and I lived here for 3 years and overall enjoyed it.Pros: Location, walk across the street to light rail for easy access to Shark Tank and Campbell. Same when trying to get on and off freeways and same goes for those who like to bike or run. The entrance to the Los Gatos Creek Trail is a quarter mile away. Newer facility, its in good shape. Ceilings and walls are not paper thin so even if the occasional loud movie is going, its not that bad compared to other places weve lived. Facilities (gym, pool, etc.) are nice and well kept. Last thing is I found the front office people to be very nice and easy to work with.Cons: Parking is probably the biggest pain. There arent too many available parking spots for guests because they are blended with tenants so the lot can fill up fast. The other is a temporary problem, they are building a new lot of apartments so noise, dust and a reduction of parking spots wasnt fun. The doors are solid (which is good) but they all are setup to close so when people just let them slam, it can get annoying becuase its loud. (Not good) Last thing is that while having 7/11 so close is nice, it does attract some not so together people. It didnt bother me necessarily but its unsettling to some to be hit up for change so frequently. I dont recommend women walking there alone at night.Overall: I personally would be happy to move back in when we return to the bay area. The downside is that rents were going up significantly since the time we first moved in so if that continued they may be priced now out of my budget.
Sadly, I have had a terrible experience with FS.Sam pretends to care until youre in. Once they have your money and youre in, Sam is horrible and careless. The women in the office are kind, but unfortunately they are under Sams terrible leadership.DO NOT MOVE IN HERE if Sam is still running this place.
Don’t move in here if you have a car. They eliminated nearly all parking because of a new restaurant and apparently a store that might open sometime in the future.
This place is not safe and the security is regardless. There is theft break our car windows in the garage and stolen mail box outside our door, the regardless security seems like partners with them that couldn’t see. The only thing the security would give a hand, is clear all the parking space for a nobody cares restaurant and tow the residence car. Horrible experience to live here.
Nice pool...
Annoying!!!hate it
