THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! Do NOT RENT HERE! I loved here for 12 months in a two bedroom spending over $3400 thinking it would be a high end apartment complex. Yes they keep the apartment clean for the most part but the front office is absolutely TERRIBLE. If you ask for anything you need to fix or need ask a question don’t expect a response back from them for a week or longer. The mail room is a absolute mess. I’ve lost my package multiple times Bc they just throw everything into one small room and tell you to go look for it! They claim that they have “premium security” but there has been multiple break ins on a regular occasion due to all the homeless around the area and they can’t control it. Lastly when you put your $700 deposit down don’t expect anything back at all! I personally paid a cleaning Company to come In and make sure everything was in tip top shape hoping I would get at least half of my deposit back but I was in disbelief when they charged me $1000 dollars for “damages”. I called and asked why I was charged so much and they said that I would have to email the corporate office and take it up with them. I swear I have never been so happy to write a email this bad. Just hoping you guys don’t experience what I went through because it was very stressful. Goodluck guys.
Nice apartments. Issues:1. 7 floor building- elevator doesn’t work too many times.2. Too many hot water problems- in the last month, hot water problems multiples times every week. Repeated promises of permanent fix but not kept.3. Visitor parking- used to have many spots but now only one is left. Rest were given to Golden Credit Union customers.
Leasing office staff are terrible, they do not hold their own words. The Reed Street is very loud, the highway is too close to the building. The gym is very dusty. The garbage rooms are very dirty and smell. there is a big problem to leave a car around the building. I do not recommend The Pierce. Avoid this place!
My wife & I just moved in several days ago and it has been a complete joy! We’ve met those working in the leasing office and they’ve made sure our entire process has been incredible! We love the location, the atmosphere and we’ve met several of our neighbors who have been so kind and helpful, too. I would highly recommend this place to those looking in the area for a great place to live.
Due to COVID, I was pretty sure I needed an appointment to schedule a tour. I requested to do exactly that through their website. I got a response saying, Thank you for your interest in The Pierce...Our Leasing Gallery is NOW OPEN daily from 9am-6pm, so please visit us... Yes, NOW OPEN was in caps. So I went down the next day and was told I needed an appointment to tour and the next one wasnt available until the following day. I spoke to two people, one who I was given to when I asked for a manager, and I am not complaining about either ones demeanor. The were both apologetic and patient with my frustration, but neither one did anything to take responsibility for The Pierces obvious error or do anything to give me a tour except by getting in line behind all the people who I should have been ahead of if they had responded correctly to my request for an appointment in the first place. A good manager would have gone out of their way to do something. Possible choices would have been to offer to take the apartment I was interested in off the market until I could get an appointment or stay later to give me the tour after hours. Thats what managers do. They fix things, especially when the mistake is on their end. Instead I got an apology and a Theres nothing we can do.
The manager is a nightmare to deal with! Dont move in unless you want your unit broken into, or your hard earned money stolen by the community manager Kristina Brock. She doesnt care about people at all and even in the middle of a pandemic does nothing for the tenants other than pushing virtual hangouts and threatening people with late fees.I dont know any other apartment building in the area where the manager has an active petition to have them removed, other than The Pierce. Let that be your most informed idea of how bad it is here.
Stayed here at 5th floor for 1 year. Apartments was nice. But extremely poor noise isolation between apartments. Mainly top one and the bottom one. Had lot of noise trouble from the apartment upstairs for about five months. Management didnt really do anything about it. Luckily my lease ended and then moved out.
You may be considering this location because its central to downtown, easy access to the trains, highways, airport, etc. I advise you to look elsewhere. As good as the deals may seem due to covid this place is a financial trap. Why? Kristina Brock, the manager is a dishonest and conniving manager who has do-nothing take take take personality similar to President Trump. Kristina does absolutely ZERO for this community and continues to take from us, lie and steal. Most recently she approved a deal to have visitor parking removed AND out of all of the local apartment complexes she is the last to open the gyms because she is too cheap to pay for them to be cleaned. When asked she claims blame on the County, which approved gym openings 6 weeks ago. Also there is an uncontrollable amount of bugs and ants crawling around the units and if thats not enough for you the doors are wide open for homeless and junkies to come in and break into the units. I personally saw a homeless man walk into our complex and right into one of the lobby bathrooms.
Love this place, nice community managers, friendly overall.. Bring your pets and kids!Only issue is elevators not being available all the time and in a big complex like this, that is a lot of walking
It is a clean community with great location. Staff is friendly and they try there best to keep the community up to mark. Pet friendly and great amenities. The location is great. Walkable distance from public transport and San Jose Downtown
Lived here for a year and I do not recommend it. They make amenities look good, but the actual apartments doesn’t worth high rent, I would definitely expect better quality appliances: floors and cabinets material pealing despide of being almost new, countertops are stained, windows are bad, they don’t hold any outside noise at all so you would constantly hear highway and passing airplanes. My husband had trouble sleeping there due to the noise.I expected more community events since it’s pretty big building with a lot of units, they told us they do them every month but that’s not true. And when they do organize them it would be a very few people there. You don’t see people around and if you do - don’t expect them to be open and friendly, closed elevator door in front of your nose would be a normal thing, but maybe they are just too busy with their dogs...Managers are never there, elevators constantly broken, super loud fire alarms frequently ringing in the middle of the night. The year we lived there (2019) it was couple break ins into apartments and garage. After our lease was over we left right away. But there was another “surprise” - they took 525$ from our deposit for the wall paint due to little holes on a walls from hanging artwork. They just took it without telling anything ahead, they never did Pre-move out inspection which required by law and stated in their contract! So we had no chance of knowing and fixing it without unexpected charges. We contacted them several times about it but they just ignored us. They only interested in you when you want to rent, so forget about any fairness and lawfulness.Bunch of profitable liars.
The leasing office manager doesnt care about the tenants and local dispensaries have more security than this building. look at the emails we receive where the manager tells us what we have to do to prevent break ins but she just sits in her office all day doing nothing.
I spent a lot of time looking for a place to move when I relocated to the Bay area and have been exceedingly happy with my decision to live at The Pierce from Day 1. The Sares-Regis staff was always tremendously helpful with a special shout out to Scott in particular. The building has amazing amenities in terms of the gym, pool and courtyard with grills. I really appreciate that the parking was gated and secure too. My neighbors were always friendly when I passed them in the halls and no one ever made excessive noise. The apartment itself had great finishing touches and was super comfortable to live in - I definitely would recommend The Pierce to anyone !
Beautiful building, with thoughtful touches and amenities. Management seems responsive, continually evolving the complex based on community feedback; leasing office staff are absolutely lovely (personal thanks to Scott and Bernard). The Pierce is pet-friendly, and most dog owners are conscientious about sharing space, and also about keeping the dog run clean. Other common areas are well-maintained, and the package-receiving locker system is pretty great. Maintenance requests are easy to arrange, as are personal arrangements for general deliveries, cleaning service, dry-cleaning service, and the like.Cant hear the neighbors through the walls, but folks actually use the courtyard/pool/bbq areas, so expect the general sounds of people hanging out, or the occasional loud music, or barking dog (not at obnoxious hours, though). Theres been a bit of a construction boom on surrounding blocks, so general city noise will be in the background, too.Overall, the Pierce is a great downtown rental. Location makes it convenient to hop on the freeway, but even easier to walk (or bike, or scooter) around downtown.
From pictures you can see that The Pierce is an all-around gorgeous place to live. Awesome roof top views, games on every floor, fireplace, BBQ’s, a pool, a gym bigger than most complexes and much more.It really was such a great place to live but the best part about The Pierce has been the great staff that make this place one of the best places to live. Fred, Scott, and the rest of the awesome Pierce staff has been a pleasure to work with while my wife and I lived at the Pierce. They host events all the time to get the residents to get together and I can tell you from going to them that they are a blast.I don’t think there was a single time where I had a question or concern that the office staff was not able to assist me in a timely manner. With everyone living such busy lives its nice to see that people can be so warm and friendly. They really did make our experience feel like being a home then just another apartment.San Jose has a lot of buildings and homes that you can rent but if you’re looking for more than just another apartment then I highly recommend you check out the Pierce.
The fragrance is awesome there should be a Doggy Daycare built into every single apartment complex I just feel sorry for the dogs left alone all day long
Fire 🔥 alarms 🚨 once in a month!
People were inconsiderate in the garbage room just throwing empty boxes, had my car broken in to, no one picks up their dog poop in the relief area, and everyone lets their dogs out off leash. I tried to dispute a cleaning charge upon move out and would recieve no response, the immediately sent the bill to collections. Scott was wonderful and such a great help but uppermanagement was non existent.
Pierce has been terrific - pricey but worth it. Staff is very professional and attentive. Few rude tenants with barking dogs but otherwise no complaints.
Overall this place was okay. We moved in when it was about 50% occupied. Pros and be the building structure we never heard our neighbors, all of the amazing amenities, and the team was fairly easy to work with. Scott was amazing. Cons would be that the pool is only 3 feet deep, the elevators were down regularly with a lengthy time for repair, the security system allowed anyone to get into the building with very little thought. The amenities were dirty the majority of the time when we first moved in but later got better. We moved out prior to our lease expiring due to a couple of homeless people that entered the building unauthorized. After all it is a downtown area but when you have a luxury new building you expect a certain level of security. Kudos to the manager for assisting us with a smooth departure.
Great place clean smells great love the fragrance in the lobby ... Very dog friendly clean environment .... Only complaint is poor air circulation in hallways and elevator landing areas it seems a little stuffy and warm
Bernard the lease specialist was amazing. So professional and so helpful. Thank you so much!
Wonderful and accommodating staff! They go above and beyond to ensure satisfaction and gratification!
Nice complex with gym and other amenities.
One of the best apartment complexes in downtown san jose
Bad, 12 month lease or shorter but high price.
Beautiful apartments!
The apt is an amazing location. Every weekend there is something going on right in front of it. The unit appliances are also pretty new and the unit itself is clean. However, I had a few issues here for a short period of time and the worst is that the staff in both the leasing office or the guest relations never tried to help me (if not the contrary). The two times I got a package delivered in the apt mail room, I never received any communication from the apt. After receiving confirmation from fedex, I went to the leasing office to ask about it (as it was one of important identification document). He did not even left his office and told it was not there. So I should open a complaint with Fedex. So I did. After many going back and forth with fedex and the mailman confirming he had delivered in the mailroom, I went to the leasing office again and asked them to go inside and check. My document was there. And guess what? A few weeks later, I went back to check for another package and again he was not even gonna leave the office and say it was not there. When I insisted, he went to the mailroom and my package was there: completely opened! And he tells me: it seems they didn’t take anything from your package. The mailroom seems to be under investigation. Not to mention the toaster that almost burns the entire apt, not giving me two keys I was supposed to have and the parking permit after following up a few times, among other issues.
