Surgeon was great. Billing Department NOT so great.Almost a month after my surgery I received a STATEMENT dated May 12, 2021 indicating I had a CREDIT BALANCE in the amount of $1,129.50.I phoned their office was told the Credit balance of $1,129.50 would be returned to the credit card I presented on the day of my surgery. I said great & hung up.About a week later I received a LEDGER ITEMIZED VIEW REPORT dated May 19. 2021 showing I had a CREDIT in the amount of only $792.00.The amounts on the STATEMENT & LEDGER ITEMIZED VIEW REPORT do not match up.I tried calling the office with calls either going to voicemail or I am put on hold and no one returns.I have sent several emails to the billing department and as of today none of my emails have been responded to.Apparently, they are unable or unwilling to explain to me why the credit amounts on the 2 separate documents they sent me do not match up.

I was incredible pleased with the whole process from start to finish. The office staff were very friendly, polite and professional. My insurance made a mistake on my prior approval. The staff worked on it for two days calling me frequently to keep me up to date. And yes, they got it approved in advance! All other oral surgeons said it may not be covered.The doctor did great. So relieved to have my issue fixed. Great experience all around. Thank you so much to Dr. Rabinovich and his team.

I just had oral surgery at Dr. Rabinovichs office 2 days ago. I was very nervous and concerned about the pain involved in the healing process. Olga, one of his assistants, was very kind and obviously cares for her patients. She explained to me exactly what was going to happen and her calm and sweet demeanor really calmed me down.I got all my top teeth extracted and 6 implants put in. This procedure is typically called a four in one, but Dr. Rabinovich likes to do 2 extra implants. He was very professional and a nice person; highly competent. I would recommend his office for any dental needs. Every single time Ive been there, the customer service is beyond good and its truly a 5 star business.

I should have read the reviews before coming here but the front desk lady was EXTREMELY rude and pushy. I was just trying to reschedule everything at once, but she kept trying to intimidate me that if I dont do the x-rays now that Ill be charged again for consultation, excuse me?This left such a sour taste in my mouth, I just left. AVOID THIS RUDE LADY!!--------------------------------------Response - 10/13/2020:I never said that doing the X-rays was the problem, what the issue here was that that lady said if I didnt do the X-rays that same day I was there for the appointment that I would be charge another consultation. Why would I be charged another consultation if was going to re-schedule everything at once (the x-ray, the surgery, etc)? So dont try to turn this around when SHE was at fault.And NO, I will NEVER come back. Ill be taking my business elsewhere!You guys need to RETRAIN her or else youll keep losing customers.

Thank you very much Dr. Rabinovich! I have been suffering the 4 wisdom teeth pain since the beginning of pandemic and today finally got all of them well taken care of! The entire procedure was smooth, and post surgery medication helped a lot to ease the pain. I didnt feel any pain right after 3 hours post surgery.Highly recommend Dr. Alex Rabinovich for oral surgery! He truly cared about patient and took the time to listen to our words!Thumbs up to his staff as well! They both are very caring!

I went back and forth on whether I should post this review but felt like it could help others. I was referred to Dr. Rabinovich by my orthodontist regarding double jaw surgery. I filled out forms weeks prior to the appointment with my insurance information and was told that I needed to call back again the week of the appointment after they have checked my insurance coverage to see how much I would pay for a consult. I called them the week of my appointment and they said that since I have cigna which is in-network I would most likely only have to pay the $30 copay but refused to give me a definitive answer.Fast forward to the day of the appointment, they have me pay $679 upfront because they still haven’t checked with my insurance. Why couldn’t they just sent a claim with my insurance first like every other doctor/hospital? It was $285 for the consultation, $375 for a CT scan, and $19 for PPE. When I asked on the phone prior to the appointment about what I could possibly be charged for they didn’t mention the CT scan OR the PPE. I also asked for an itemized bill to be emailed to me which I never received.Dr. Rabinovich was very knowledgable, kind, and not pushy at all. He offered two different surgical solutions to my problem, a more aggressive DJS, and a less aggressive surgery that would just fix most of the cosmetic issues. He also said I could opt to do no surgery so I appreciated his honesty there. He mainly looked at my face and barely glanced at the scan. Overall I thought Dr. Rabinovich was great, so this rating is not really a reflection of him as a surgeon.What ultimately made me decide against going forward with the surgery here is his office’s billing practices and billing assistant Alla. She was extremely aggressive about making me decide right then and there which surgery option I wanted to go forward with. I said that I would like to know the cost with insurance and without insurance and she refused to give me either or even discuss how I could get an approximate number. She said that I would have to commit to a surgery first before they would figure it out with my insurance. But how can I commit to a surgery if I wouldn’t know if it would cost 11k or 30k? Regardless, they should know the out of pocket cost without insurance. Also this is a major surgery and her attitude towards making me rush to a decision made me extremely uncomfortable and was too sales-ey.Their billing practices very much did not sit well with me, so I called my insurance company soon after. They confirmed that these billing practices are extremely unusual and they were shocked that not only did they make my pay upfront for the visit, but that they charged me more than the copay when they knew in fact that they were in network. Also, they performed a CT scan without asking for approval from my insurance company first (despite already having my insurance info for weeks), which is the standard procedure. Because they did not get this pre-approved there was a high chance my insurance would not cover it. I got both my insurance and Dr.Rabinovich’s office on the phone and they refunded me the amount they charged for the consultation minus the $30 copay.A few weeks later I see that they submitted a claim with Cigna and not only did they charge an extra $100 for the consultation, they also filed a duplicate claim which Cigna automatically denied of course. Over 2 months later, I am still working with insurance on this claim.If you do decide to go here, make sure you get in writing what you will be charged for on your first visit, make sure they get everything pre-approved with your insurance, don’t let them talk you into the CT scan without preapproval, and do not pay the full amount for the consultation if you know you are only supposed to pay the copay! All the reps from Cigna that helped me with this said these billing practices are suspicious, sketchy, and unusual, so take that as you will.

I usually dont take the time to write reviews, but Dr. Rabinovich and his team have most certainly earned this one. I went in about a month ago for a consult to have my remaining wisdom teeth removed; my case was a tad bit more complicated than the routine procedure, but Dr. Rabinovich, along with this excellent staff, went above and beyond to support me and give me all of the necessary information. I was a little nervous, especially given the Covid climate we are now living in, but it was incredibly comforting to see how on top of the cleaning protocols and safety/well-being for themselves and their patients. Very welcoming staff as well. I probably have called their office at least ten times since my surgery, just to ask quick questions and Ive only been met with patience and the utmost kindness. My surgery was an absolute success and theyve done everything they can to take great care of me. Id choose Dr. Alex Rabinovich 1000000000x! Very trustworthy, patient, intelligent, and friendly. Very highly recommended! This man and his team really take the time with each of their patients; they know what theyre doing! Thank you again, Dr. Rabinovich! It was truly a pleasure :)

Called to set up an appointment and failed to get a straight answer on what it would cost for a basic run of the mill wisdom tooth extraction. Kept getting the run around about insurance differences and impacted-vs-not but if youre not able to provide a ballpark estimate for a procedure that you offer? I find that pretty unreasonable. Based on all of the other reviews about sketchy insurance billing and pricing, Id avoid.

Excellent oral surgeon. I had a wisdom teeth extraction issue here in San Francisco and he was great. Not painless, of course. The main challenge is the cost as it wasnt covered by insurance. But Dr. R was fantastic and made the process as painless as one can expect for wisdom teeth.

2 implants. required extraction & graft. approx. 45 minutes. No drama. To the point & professional. That’s what I want: professionalism. That’s what I got.

I would just like to say my experience working with Dr. Rabinovich and Co. was nothing less than totally professional, as it should be. Dr. Rabinovich and all of his staff have been great to work with. All of my dental work was done in 2 simple visits. Most of all they were very compassionate in understanding my financial and credit situation and did everything they could to make my dental work something I could afford. I would highly recommend them to friends or family.

Medical treatment: 5 stars. Sketchy billing: -3 stars.They were able to see me immediately and the procedure went quickly and smoothly. Both doctor and staff were kind and helpful in person. I had a nearly painless and quick recovery after removing 2 wisdom teeth.Unfortunately, I no longer trust this office when it comes to fair charging for their services. After paying my bill in full, I was surprised to receive another bill. Most suspicious were two service charges which, upon questioning, were taken off the bill. Rather than going through the nightmare of contacting the insurance company to mail another EOB, I just paid the second bill. I can only hope that I dont receive another bill, perhaps next month. At least I turned down the $444 general anesthesia they recommended for the $196 nitrous, which Id still skip if I had any more wisdom teeth to pull, as it had no effect on me. I was also told by the office that the insurance company wont cover your consultation fee if the person conducting the consultation also does the procedure. The more you know.In summary, Im very happy about the clean tooth extraction, but the money grubbing still left me with a sour after taste.EDIT: For clarification, the final cost of the nitrous for me was $148, not $196. But in my first consultation where I received my initial quote, I was given 2 options which were $444 GA, or a $196 therapeutic. Im not sure why the cost changed; perhaps I was given something different than initially proposed?

I had a great experience with Dr. Rabinovich and his staff over the last few months. After biting down on a couple of almonds, my jaw went “crunch”, and I was in a lot of pain and discomfort. It hurt to eat, talk, laugh, yawn and anything to do with my mouth. After a referral from my Primary Doctor for Physical Therapy and a visit to Dr. Rabinovich, I learned how to retrain my mouth and jaw and recover from severe TMJ trauma. When I first saw Dr. Rabinovich, I was terrified that I had broken my jaw, but the MRI that I got a month earlier showed no bone damage, minimal degeneration and Dr. Rabinovich assured me that my situation was treatable “non-surgically”. He explained his recommendations, and took his suggestions to heart. I did receive Botox injections in each jaw on that first visit, because I was grasping for some relief. The jaw exercises that I received from Physical Therapy were working slowly to help me open my mouth so I could eat. The Botox gave me temporary relief for a few weeks, while I was fitted for a mouth guard (AKA splint) to wear at night. My insurance did cover the splint but not the Botox. It has been a combination of several treatments as mentioned above that is helping me heal. Time is a big factor, as well as stress relief!!thank you, Dr. Rabinovich for your concern and caring treatments. And thank you to the staff for getting me through this situation. No more raw almonds for me —- I make a powdery mixture to sprinkle on my cereals and salads. And to have less stressful events in my life are helping too!!

Well, this was not fun. But the staff were all a great team and the process very efficient. From the office entry to the bitter end it all went smoothly. The doctor was communicative and did what needed to be done with minimal pain for me. Thank you.

Was quoted $3500+ for wisdom teeth extraction (nothing special, not impacted, or anything difficult). Dont waste your time with their scam pricing.Again, their quote was for SURGICAL REMOVAL OF IMPACTED TOOTH x4, which is a flat out lie from their pricing, as none of my teeth are impacted in any way.

I had a dental implant + bone graft, and the surgery was performed by Dr. Rabinovich with optimal precision and accuracy. The staff there were extremely professional and friendly, and they managed to handle everything for me with no hassles from start to finish.

I work for a general dentist, who refers a lot of his patients with oral surgery needs to Dr. Rabinovich. Needless to say, when one of my teeth cracked, and had to be removed, I went to see Dr. Alex. They were able to see me as an emergency patient on the same day!!! I was VERY scared (yes, I work for a dentist, and I was still panicking), and Dr. Alex and his wonderful assistants put me at ease. The extraction of the tooth and placement of the implant went very smoothly, and without any discomfort.I highly recommend the office, the whole place works just like a well oiled machine, starting with a friendly people at the front office and finishing with professional and painless service by the doctor and his assistant.

When I told co-workers In was going to have Implants done, I heard nothing but horror stories. But right from the start of the procedure I was assured that there would minimal pain and dis comfort. The day of my surgery I was put under and when I woke up the implants were in and my temporary bridge installed. I had minor discomfort for a day and that was it. my mouth feels and looks great. This review is long overdue. I would like to get credit where credit is due. Dr. Rabinovich made me feel very comfortable during my procedure. Although I could hear that he jack hammered my mouth, (it sure sounded like it) the end result was great. I didnt feel any pain until after the anesthesia wore off (which is normal). Im just thankful my nightmare is over now and I feel comfortable exchanging smiles with people. His staff is very pleasant. I would recommend him to all. The woman answering the phone was the most condescending person I’ve ever spoken to. I’m calling because I have questions and needed some information and the woman laughed at me and was being extremely rude, and made me feel embarrassed. When I asked her if she could stop being rude, she said I was yelling... no, I wasn’t yelling but at that point I wanted to. I was interested in giving this place my business but by how awful the customer service is I’m not trusting this place with my teeth.

Dr Alex Rabinovich put 2 bone grafts and implants in my upper left jaw using state of art technology. Today is the 4th day after the surgery. I trust his work on me. Will come back to this review when the whole job is complete in 4 months time.

For years I stressed over recommended dental implant procedure. May 2014 I had a panic attack when scheduled for one free dental implant I had to cancel that appointment with that facility. In July 2015 I received three implants because I found an office which facilitated trust, a dentist, his staff who were respectful, communicative and empathic to my concerns. This office was for me stress free, clean, professional. Thank you again Dr Rabinovich, your staff for your ability to communicate, thank you for your knowledge, skills, professionalism. I had a great experience with Dr. Rabinovich and his office. His staff were very friendly and helpful. I really wanted to get my wisdom teeth removed the day of my appointment and when I called ahead, they gave me the pre-op instructions. Dr. Rabinovich was able to fit me in that day. The surgery went really smoothly and I had very little pain post-op. Id highly recommend this office for any oral surgery.

Very happy with Dr. Rabinovichs work. I highly recommend his clinic and especially Dr. Rabinovich. I had to have a very difficult implant surgery which took approximately 6 hours. I sat down in the operating chair and got up after the surgery finished successfully and with no pain or negative side effects. Also, the staff is very nice, friendly and helpful, and a big thank you to Alla the office manager who is always ready to assist.

My mother told me that if I couldnt say something nice not to say anything... However.I will only say...it was most unpleasant going to this office most unpleasant....staff is condescending ...the doctor in a rush trying to crowd as many people in as possible...like an assembly line...I hope the work will be ok...In all my years I havent been to a medical office like this office.

Got all four wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. Totally freaking out about it because it wasnt first surgery really and two I wanted to be sleep which meant I had to get an IV,which freaked me out more. Long story short, Dr.Rabinovich has an amazing staff and it was easy peezy. Knocked out before I knew it and woke up without wisdom teeth, so I say he did a job well done :) would go back if I needed to. Go team go ! (:

When my molar was beyond saving, my longtime dentist referred me to Dr. Rabinovich for an implant. As if that wasnt a good enough referral, I also checked the website for Cigna, my dental insurance carrier, where I read more good reviews. The implant procedure and follow-up healing process could not have gone any better. I now have an appointment to see my dentist for a fitting for my new crown. If or when I need another implant, I will definitely go back to Dr. Rabinovich.

I dont know where all these 5 stars come, gotta be mostly made up. Maybe Dr Rabinovich is good and a nice guy, I wouldnt know, I couldnt get by his incompetent staff at the desk. I called over a week in advance, set up an appointment, had my referral and info faxed from my dentist. I called the day before my appointment to make sure all was still in order, was told I would receive a call by end of day, I did not. I get there an hour early on the day of appointment, had to be 5 or 6 women behind desk gossiping and playing on cell phones. Tell me my referral never got there, and had me call my dentist to resend it.( why they couldnt do it, I dont know) so I did. They tried to fax it, but the fax at Dr Rabinovich wasnt working. Then she told me I can pay out of pocket. I left,. If 5 people cant get off their butt to fix a mistake they made by being lazy, Ill take my business elsewhere. Im hope Dr Rabinovich knows they are losing his facility thousands of dollars while hes back there working and these ladies are playing on phones.

If I could give zero stars, I would! This doctor is a racist who did not listen to my concerns and looked at me like I was insane when I told him I needed pain medicine. I paid for sedation and it did not work! This was the single, most horrifying experience of my life! I have given birth twice; and the dental procedure, due to the negligence of this dentist was worse in terms of pain. Then he sent me home drugged beyond belief and did not even send someone to escort me out. Unless you are white and a man, dont go here - you may be discriminated against too! Or maybe he is not racist but extremely unqualified!

Dr. Alex Rabinovich is an excellent oral surgeon. Dr. Rabinovich and his team did implants and bone graft procedures on me in a day in his office with modern facilities. The day of my surgery I was put under and when I woke up my temporary teeth was already installed. I did not feel any pain even the anesthetic shot. I research the procedures to be done and also the prices and I have consultations with at least five dentists, finally with the consultation I had with Dr. Rabinovich my husband and I decided to have him do the procedures. Dr. Rabinovich is absolutely phenomenal, precise and excellent in having done my procedures and his office have competitive price that benefited me more.I had my surgery for a month now, my husband and I are very thankful to Dr. Alex Rabinovich, his team, his manager and to his entire staff who are very caring, friendly and professional. I received the best care, my surgery was a success, a very positive experience.

Last year I got serious dental work done by Dr. Alex Rabinovich. I had a few teeth bone grafts, sinus lifting, and many implants put in. My initial consultation was great, Dr. Alex Rabinovich was friendly, personable, and gave me suggestions on how to best deal with these procedures. The actual surgery went great, exactly as doctor described it during the initial consultation. My payments were reasonable for the amount of work I had done and how little my insurance offered. The office is super clean and modern, and the staff is very nice. It was easy to schedule or adjust the appointments when needed. I highly recommend Dr. Alex Rabinovich to anyone who needs high-end quality medical surgery. He does amazing work!

I have received various cosmetic treatments from Dr. Rabinovich throughout the past couple years, and each and everyone was done to the upmost professional standards. The support staff are pleasant and helpful and Im always thrilled with the results. I have an extremely low threshold to pain and need lots of numbing. Dr. Rabinovich is always patient and gives me all the time I need before he proceeds. I never feel rushed. When I read the review from the woman who called the Dr. racist and unresponsive to her complaints about pain, I knew this couldnt be true. What she described was the complete antithesis of what Ive experienced in his office.

My wife went to doctor ALex Rabinovich for facelift surgery. He has done highly professional, superior work on her face and neck, and she is very happy with results. The surgery lasted for about s hours, and she felt no pain or any major discomfort, and it was done with only local anesthesia. As of now, there only 5 weeks passed since the surgery was done, everything on her face totally cured, and our friends can see the great results of the surgery.We believe doctor Rabinovich has really artistic talents which is so important for his profession. Before surgery, he gave her excellent advice regarding what need to be done for her surgery, how to make it without actually changing appearance, but make the face and neck look younger and fresher. The surgery was complete success!At the time after surgery, he responded to my wifes every call, addressed all her concerns, to make her fill comfortable and confidante of her decision.Also, many thanks to the office personnel: Monica (surgery assistant), ALLA (treatment coordinator), Ashley (front desk). Was scheduled for a visit before finding out the day before that they dont work with my insurance. Not recommended at all.

Dr. Alex Rabinovich is a smart and experienced surgeon. Getting all 4 wisdom teeth removed was routine for him and his staff. I was in, under, and out in 1 hour!He patiently answered all of my questions, and his office takes CareCredit (credit card for those without dental insurance.) On top of that, his staff member (wish I could remember her name) gave me a really reasonable price- it was ~equivalent to what Id pay out of pocket if I had Delta Dental Insurance and it was a better amount than the 4 other oral surgeons I called. On top of THAT, they worked me into their schedule for THE NEXT DAY (a friday no less) because I had an emergency (infection of impacted tooth).I read all of his reviews and chose him because nobody gave his dental work less than 5 stars- only his staffs attitude earned low ratings. I can see what people are saying. However, they helped me when I asked for anything and I will always take smart, professional, unflawed, and experienced over a dental assistant not giving me a smile or giving me a stern shh! if I was being extremely loud under the influence of laughing gas (didnt phase me at all).His office is a 1 minute walk from the bart station, too.I am 1 week out since having all 4 wisdom teeth removed and recovery has been smooth progress, getting better every day. Today, I ate a sandwich with no discomfort. Dr. Rabinovich did his residency at Georgetown and all this other academics from competitive institutions I wish I could remember (one was SUNY, one Columbia?). To use the words of his staff, Dr. Alex and his staff have done this so many times. I highly recommend Dr. Alex as an oral surgeon.
