Be careful. We booked online and payed but when we went to the shop it has closed. No one open and never got the service. The bike shop a cross the street told us that they have being close for almost a year.

Pro tip: For those that takes the bike tour to Sausalito, if you are not strong enough to bike back to the bike shop from Sausalito be aware you will need to add additional expenses. $12pp to ship the bike back from Sausalito as well as another $12pp to take the ferry back to SF. Or about $35-50 for Uber.The above cost is no fault of the bike shop, but seems like it’s a hidden cost people don’t know about.The bikes we have was in good shape, great customer service from Alcatraz to make sure bike us Taylor to the rider. Our tour guide was friendly and took us to many great photo-op areas.

Yesterday, we rent two new bikes, that were in a very good condition. The handlebar was balanced and the gear change was impeccable.My bike just didn’t had a quick release skewer, it would have been useful for some hilly parts.The Alcatraz Bike team was very friendly and suggested us some nice places to bike.Although we didn’t compared the price to many other rentals, we found it very fair, regarding the aspects above.All in all: great experience!

Karl was fantastic. He helped us get our bikes and got us squared away with a map and everything we needed. He was so accommodating and would definitely recommend using them if you’re thinking about getting bikes in SF. We got a Groupon which made it a little cheaper and it was super easy to book.

The staff is really friendly, my friends and me rented a bike to make a little tour around San Francisco area but it was too late and one of the guys helped us to bring the bikes later than the time we were supposed to give them back.

I rented a bike from this place for 24 hours. Groupon had a deal for $15. Otherwise they were advertising $22 for the day. Great deal for the area. Easy access to the golden gate bridge bike trail. My bike squeaked a little but rode very nicely. The brakes worked well and the gears were definitely necessary for SF hills. Would recommend.

We rented 4 bikes last week - all were in great condition. Carl and his associate were very helpful and friendly. They gave us great tips for biking to the bridge and over to Sausalito. We purchased ferry tickets from them to avoid the line ups once we got there. Tip: instead of getting a voucher through groupon go directly to them as they will honour the price. A good location to rent bikes for an 8mi bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge to the Sausalito Ferry Terminal and then take the ferry back to Pier 39. Staff was helpful, bikes are in good condition. Wish they would add bells to the bikes.

Perfect option if you want to make a bycicle ride in San Francisco. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They even allowed me to keep the bike at my hostel overnight as I couln’t bring it back the day before. Bysicles are in very good conditions and the location is ideal since it’s just a few minutes walks from Fisherman’s Wharf. All in all a very nice place if you want to hire a bike in order to bike the bridge.The prices are quite fair as well.Cheers

It was a great experience for a great price!! The owner is really nice and was very helpful with tips for the day.

Our tour today was not good. The tour guide did really know the area well. He knew some things but not much detail. Many in our large group had bike issues. Could not change gears, rear brakes were quite worn, and the guide did not have any tools or knowledge how to do simple adjustments to fix them.I spoke to the manager afterwards and found out that most of my issues are being resolved. They are adding 60 new bikes, will require tools on their rides, and are training their tour guides. The manager is new and is committed to good service.

Friendly staff. Place is located close to Fishermens Wharf. As soon as you go down the hill the bike trail to the Golden Gate Bridge starts. Bikes were in good condition, but no bells on bikes. Also, was given a lock without a key and seats were uncomfortable.

Miguel was very, very supportive to us. He gave us bikes for kids that were brand new ones, very good quality. Thru the Groupon deal was just the best option. Cost and Quality. Strongly recommended.

We borrowed 7 bikes. Got a good price. The bikes had a good standard. The service helped with the necessary adjustments. Got a helmet and lantern on the loan, as well as maps and good advice on how to cross the Golden Gate bridge
