Always super friendly staff. Store is organized and easy to find items. Only issue is like most of retail in inventory. Not a whole lot of inventory on hand for my particular size women shoe in 6.5. Hope this improves in the future.

The security guard was very rude, verbally loud and abusive. I was putting my mask on as I walked in with my family, 2 boys, 8 and 12 years old and my wife, and he started YELLING about putting my mask on before I walk through the door.He was very rude in front of my wife and children. This was on Saturday, September 25th around 4pm. Totally unnecessary. He even physically threatened me. Totally embarrassing and unnecessary.I will NEVER shop there again and will tell EVERYONE and anyone that asks me about purchasing any type of sporting goods NOT to shop there and why.

Last week I took my bicycle in for a much needed tune up. I was expecting to leave it there for a couple hours but Aaron, the mechanic, told me 20 minutes! I recently did a bike fitting at the store on Bryant st.Matt was the one who helped me. He was very detailed, super friendly and very knowledgeable. I have been ridding a second hand road bike for a year now and something did not feel right. Matt help me fully adjust the bike and replace two pieces that made the bike more comfortable for my body and posture.Long story short, I took the bike for a ride the day after and it felt like a different bike, no more back and arm discomfort. This is my favorite sporting goods store in SF! I went in to buy a sleeping bag and pad, hoping to find something high quality that would last me a long time. The store had tons of options and the staff was super friendly and available whenever we needed support. Demetrius was especially helpful with sharing the pros and cons of different options and making recommendations based on our budget and needs.I definitely plan to come back here, especially when making a big purchase where I might need some advice.

I biked over a screw which managed to stick itself into my bike tire and very quickly inhibited my ability to bike anywhere. I took my bike to Sports Basement and was greeted immediately by Janelle in the bike department who went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help me out. Janelle not only recommended a tire with puncture-resistant technology but also took the time to test out a mess of spare tubes I had at home to see if any of them were usable. We found a winner and Janelle installed my new tube + tire in no time. Ive taken my bike to Sports Basement anytime I need a tune up or new tube/tire/advice and have never been disappointed. I recently had a fit with Matt (Leo). Despite my amateur status, Matt spent about two hours with me checking and adjusting every aspect of my bike fit. I didnt even know there were that many adjustment points! I really felt like Matt took my experience and goals into account and set me up for success. HIGHLY recommend!

Favourite sporting goods store in SF! They have everything you need for camping and sports at great prices. As a tennis player, also love their racquet rental/demo program - a great way to test out racquets before you buy! Ricky helped us out when looking for racquets, and was super knowledgeable and helpful with helping us select the right racquet.

I’ve found the bike shop to be courteous and meticulous. They are knowledgeable and clearly take pride in their work. I find it exception these days that I never need to double-check their work or do the finishing work myself (e.g. tightening bolts to torque spec).

My 2nd bike, Trek hybrid, had become uncomfortable. The bike was causing back issues. Since I’ve had prior success w/fittings from Sports Basement I booked an appointment with Matt Leo.Matt spent a good hour conducting—proper measurements—testing prognosis—applying adjustments—explaining technique—finally, adding parts that would provide the proper leg+arm extension that I need for biking.I’ m a tough customer. But, I have to say, Matt Leo is a professional and knows bike mechanics. Am very impressed + now using this bike more than I have in the past.

Impressive bike repair shop — Bryant St SB is my go-to place to get my mtb running smoothly. I find the staff there always eager to help with mechanical issues/questions (no attitude), while also offering great information on bike maintenance. The brake repair I needed was done in a timely manner—they had all the quality parts in-store, and quieted the squealing brakes, yay!

Jason is the reason why Sports Basement will be the place for all my bike needs. I brought in my wifes ancient Kona full suspension mountain bike for some repairs before we decide to take the kids out. Let me start by saying Im always hesitant to bring anything to repair shops because of the cost and dishonest business practice but Jason changed my mind. He was very straight forward and provided great recommendations. It wasnt exactly what I wanted to hear but it was what I needed. I was willing to throw money on the bike to replace certain components but he suggested doing what I could to get it working again instead. Ill see you soon Jason!

Security tag was on shoes when they arrived in the Midwest. Emailed the company for help. Email response was youre on your own, try not to tear your shoes. Return policy is on your own dime. Apparently it doesnt matter if it is company error. If there was a zero stars it would be that. Theres nothing wrong with not doing internet business. There IS something wrong with doing it like this!

Make sure you sign up as a Bassmenter to not only get a 10% discount off everything, but also chose a local school or charity that also gets 10% from everything you buy.If you dont find what youre looking for, they will ship it in from another store for free.

Went in to get my snowboard boots heat molded - which was free because I purchased my boots at Sports Basements a few weeks before - and the fellow who helped me, Demetrius, was super helpful, very friendly, and shared some snowboard knowledge with me while I waited for my boots to shape. Really great service!

I went in to buy snowboard boots, not sure exactly what I wanted but knew I didn’t want to spend a lot. The person who assisted me was very helpful and knowledgeable. He offered many options. I left with a great fitting boot at exactly the price point I was anticipating.

I love going to my local Sports Basement store, they always have very helpful and friendly staff. I can find the things that I want there for very good prices. They have great sales and if you find a better price elsewhere, they will match it and then still give you your basementeer discount on top of that. We have purchased skis, binding, boots, poles, clothing and other gear here. Great all around sports equipment store.

I purchased three pairs of shoes for my children for football. They were out of one of the pairs of shoes I had ordered and did not contact me to see if I wanted A different pair they might have in stock. Very dissatisfied with the customer service here. Today is practice and my son has got to go with no football shoes. Had I known I would have purchased them elsewhere prior to practice but instead I gave it the benefit of the doubt they were still on their way.I reached out to customer service to see what happened and they told me they had been out of stock. Sincerely very unsatisfied customer

The store is fantastic. People are friendly and helpful. Its a great experience. ONLY reason cant give it a give is that items are over priced. The Goggles were not worth $40 and even with discount, they are not great. Just the least miserable option. Id like store to expand goggle options. The hat was not as warm as it seemed it would be and was also expensive.

I’ve gone to this SB several times for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it’s in and out and sometimes I need help. Yesterday I needed help.I approached the bike shop looking for a few particular pieces that are not usually in stock at most places. They didn’t have 2/3 but what stood out was the customer service from Jason, I think he is kinda new. He really took his time in answering my questions and provided additional help that was not asked for but greatly appreciated.Please make sure to thank him again for me. It is always refreshing to get quality advice from someone as opposed to just a robot answer to questions. Keep up the great work!!

What a huge place of multiple floors of various sports equipment! My first time here and I thought the staff was helpful for any questions and the amount of goods they had for camping, clothing, shoes, exercise equipment, basketball, tennis, etc was the best Ive seen a place have. Got the 3lb dumbbells and yoga mat I saw available on their website. Will absolutely be back!

I went to Sports Basement to get my new ski boots custom fitted since they were causing me some pain, and needed to do it quickly since I had a flight to catch. Billy was extremely professional and worked as quickly as he could given that it takes about 30 minutes for this to work. Had a great experience and would recommend this location to anyone, and if you are looking to buy ski/snowboard gear make sure to look for Billy. The boots feel great now, and I cant wait to go back skiing now. And I made my flight!

Guess what? When I was at this Sports Basement, we had a fun event in the basement. Sports Basement are GREAT stores. The event was a comedy night which was a whole lot of fun.

Bike needed new shifting and brake cables. Got lucky brought it in on Sunday morning and they got it done the same day (I didnt pick the bike up until the next day) because other bike shops around downtown are super busy. Will definitely be coming back to this place.

Sports Basement is my go-to bike shop. Yesterday, the Bryant St crew were able to change out my casette while I waited. I know that thats not always possible, since most bike shops are slammed with bike repairs at the moment, but it was greatly appreciated.
