Fantastic service. Take an e-bike and bike via the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito. You can either bike back or take the ferry... It can be foggy on the bridge but it’s still such a nice trip... service at Blazing Saddles is really friendly and helpful. Will definitely do this again when I return.

Staff friendly & helpful. Hired 2 bikes from Mason St & returned them to the Hyde St warehouse for no extra charge. One bike got puncture 2 miles south of Sausalito, not long after riding over the bridge. Called shop, lady very helpful & explained that we’d need to walk the bike to Sausalito, where we could change it. That was all ok, we had lunch & continued to Tiburon, to catch ferry. Great day out but the bikes are not surprisingly in a pretty poor condition. My chain needed changing as it kept slipping but I guess that’s the way it is.

I had such a great day with a rental bicycle from here! Friendly staff♡ bicycle was great condition! I brought my own mobile holder which was really useful for free riding. The bicycle rental fee is included pocket and locker=) It is good to ride a bicycle in the morning. I rented 8am and sent it back at 3pm. There were many cars and people afternoon so.Do Not hesitate to rent a bicycle from here!!!

Quick and painless to get a rental and ride around seeing some awesome scenery in the area. Customer service is great and prices arent too bad.The only thing I noticed was when attempting to rent a road bike, the deposit fee was around $2,000+ and the models presented (TREK, which is a good brand) can be purchased for that price (or less). It is just a deposit, so not that big of a deal and I get it from a gotta run a business standpoint, but I would have just brought mine if I had known. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed my rental and would recommend!

I can’t compare any of the other bike shops, but renting a bike and crossing the golden gate into Sausalito is highly recommended. We chose the tandem (and used a $6 coupon from city pass). The hills were not easy but with the gearing, it was doable. Nice bike path and the return on ferry was a good experience. ($12 per ticket, charged when you turn the bikes in). If you don’t use the tandem bikes, you would have the option to take a bus back for $6 each. We tried but the tandem is too long for the bus.

1 of the most enjoyable and toughest city bike rides Ive done. We tackled the more challenging route but were rewarded with spectacular views and a great sense of accomplishment. Even a broken bike chain didnt deter from the enjoyment, with the speedy response from Avocado who showed great customer service in meeting me out at Ocean Beach to swap me over to a brand new bike that was seamless and greatly appreciated. Cant recommend this tour highly enough - such brilliant variety in terms of terrain and scenery. Thanks to the team at Blazing Saddles for a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

The bikes were great and they offered multiple options to return them at the end of the day. They offered us ferry tickets for an additional cost. This is somewhat misleading because they will hand you actual ferry tickets but they will only charge you for them if you dont return them. There is also an additional charge for returning your bike at another location in the city. In our case, we rode our bikes all day, from 8am to 10pm, and returned them in the after hours lock up near Union Square. We went across the city twice and over the Golden Gate Bridge. We now have priceless memories of that day.One suggestion I would make, however, is to speed up the pick up process. I understand certain rules have to be described but we missed our early bird ferry to Alcatraz because we were told what changing gears on our bikes does. The staff were very friendly, I just think that they should take into account peoples experiences and comfort levels so they can still get where they have to go. Luckily, in this case, they were able to put us onto the next ferry.

So we arrived to pick up our pre paid bikes. We were welcomed by one member of staff. Passed on to another and then passed on to another. It was very hectic. There was us...a German family and a French family. I felt some of the staff were mocking the non English speakers. We were rushed through the check in and taken through the late bike return with the German family. I think the member of staff assumed we were all German. He was rushing all of us...no time for questions. When it was time to get our bikes it was just like get your bike and off you go or to quote them directly get on your bike move out of the way...head to market Street and Turn right. No explanation of the basic cycle laws for the US. Anyway...the bikes themselves were decent enough. You can drop them off at any other blazing saddles place for a 10 dollar charge per bike. So in conclusion...it does everything you need but the staff are very care free and not much for customer service

Very happy to have found this place. They set me up with a very nice road bike, with high quality components and in good mechanical condition. Plus it actually fit, which is saying a lot because I am very tall. I rode 17 miles the first day, and 27 the next. This was such a great way to see the town. Bikes get around better downtown than anything else. Their bike route maps were also very helpful. Best $48 I spent in a long time.

Good bike, friendly service. The map made the trip actively worse. Confusing, poorly labeled, and poorly explained. Missed a lot of landmarks due to the horrible map. The wheels of my bike got stolen. Instead of assisting me, Blazing Saddles made me bring the rest of the bike (no wheels!) all across the city back to their office all on my own. Once I was there, they made me pay 200 Dollars. I understand I have to contribute to the compensation, but they didnt even discount the rental fee. Nothing to make their customer to feel just a little bit better. Well, they know how to make money out of old bikes.

Used the outlet outside the station. Highly recommend using this spot. Brian (or Bryan?) was excellent. He will take the time to talk through your ideas and the numerous bicycle routes. We highly recommend cycling the route along the harbour (sea lions) and all the way over the GG bridge. Its a tough cycle on the other side but its well worth going up to the view points to the left of the bridge. A great cycle back down. The bikes are of good quality and well maintained. They come with lock and helmet. Thank you Brian, your enthusiasm was warmly welcome.

I came here with my family during our vacation trip to San Francisco. The process of renting the bikes was easy and the staff operated very quickly to get us on our bicycles. It was amazing to witness how efficient the employees were. The prices were also very reasonable and we were even able to locate a discount in a brochure we got from a California Visitors Center on the nearby Pier 39 area. The bikes were a little beat up and my friends said that they felt rushed by the employees, but the overall experience of biking across the Golden Gate bridge was absolutely amazing. Everyone should try it!

Got a coupon from a map at the hostel, $5 off for 24 hour rental, which ends up being $31. There was a slightly cheaper type of bicycle on the list but the guy at the Union Square branch said they dont have it anymore (maybe available at other locations? Idk). One of the breaks make squeaky noise but works and otherwise the bicycle was in good condition. The ferry ticket they provide saved the trouble of figuring out how to buy ticket when I arrived at the dock in Tiburon exhausted. They provided helmet for free but charged for lights. I didnt get the light so I just walked the bike after dark (also too tired lol).

The staff at this location was terrific! They were all friendly, professional and knowledgable and made us feel truly welcome. They highlighted the important points along the route, had tips for the ferry ride back and helped us select the right bikes. We had an unfortunate accident with one of the bikes (completely our fault) and the cost of damage was well under my estimate (we did not purchase bike insurance which in the hindsight was a mistake). The bikes are well maintained and mechanically sound to take on the SF hills. Highly recommended!

Pleasant and efficient staff. Bike had seen better days. Rented a tandem that was pretty beat up. Gears kept skipping, had a flat in the middle of nowhere, & missed our ferry back. Blazing Saddles paid for the flat fix. Recommend you take your rental around the block before you hit the trail.

Bikes are relatively affordable if booked online but are very old, heavy and need new parts and some serious repairs. The gears skipped so bad I had to bike 30 mins back to the store to switch the bike. There is an up charge on credit card purchases which is ridiculous. Location is convenient for Dt hotels and dropping off after hours, hence two stars.

FYI - the ferry tickets are not included in the rental price. I had no idea that we would be given tickets and we ended up using them rather than letting them go to waste and just returning them unused. If you do not return the tickets with your rental, you will be charged an additional fee. Also, be careful about returning bikes to a different location - we attempted to return bikes to the Hyde St. location only to be turned away. We then had to ride through busy downtown in the dark with no bike lights or a great understanding of the traffic patterns or route.

We rented our bikes from the Hyde Park Location. The staff was very friendly, and went out of their way to tell us about the route. We biked to the Golden Gate Bridge and back, but did not ride the ferry due to our personal schedule.I also used their garage to park (which was a very reasonable fee, considering the location is so close to the Fishermans Wharf). I had a small accident while taking the car out of their garage (my fault). The owner Jeff Saddles was very helpful and spent a lot of his time fixing my cars bumper. It was good to see an owner who is so hands on and cares for his customers so much. Thanks for making the day great for us in the beautiful city of San Francisco, and I would highly recommend making biking one of the activities you do here.

The staff were knowledgeable and answered all questions with a smile and professionalism. The rental also includes a voucher for the ferry back from Sausalito or Tiburon. The tour was fantastic, as was the route they took all the way over the Golden Gate, to Sausalito, Mill Valley and finally Tiburon. The change in scenery is fantastic. The only thing that could use improvement is the directions between Mill Valley and Strawberry as we got a bit lost.Overall, a great experience for the active family members or friends to see some more of the area around San Francisco.

This was the worst part of our San Francisco trip! They are so nice when they herd you in the door at the beginning: theyre friendly and seemingly willing to answer any question in order to make you think this is a fun, laid back operation. Dont be fooled!! It all changes when something goes wrong. We bought the insurance for our bikes before taking them for the day. My bike seat got stolen when it was chained up. About the same time, my husbands bike lock key went missing after room service cleaned up our room. We went to the shop and all the friendly folks were gone, we were curtly told by a manager that SURPRISE! our insurance covered none of this. They told us it would be $60 for the lost key and stolen seat. They gave us no receipt or itemization. A few days later, it was another surprise to see an additional $90 (not $60) charged on our account - presumably to cover the cheap lock and cheaper seat, which we undoubtely could have purchased for a tenth of the price. They were terrible and rude about it all.Dont go here! Dont give this sleazy place your business! Having looked over the TripAdvisor reviews since visiting, I can tell you my experience was not unique!

On Thursday April 23rd, my wife and I rented a pair of bicycles to ride around Sausalito, starting from Downtown. Both of us have years of experience Mountain biking around Perú, where we live. Ive personally competed professionally in national tournaments. At around 8:20am, 30 minutes into our bicycle trip, my front brake stopped working. Since I barely use that brake, we decided to continue the trip. A few blocks before Presidio, when approaching a traffic light, my back brake also stopped working. Because of this, I couldnt stop and went past an intersection through which cars were going through. Luckily, there were no car, but it could have been fatal for me.After this, I called the number they had provided us at the bicycle shop. Probably from the shock of having sped past a red light, I put one of the numbers wrong, got a voice mail and didnt reach them at this time by phone. We walked about an hour to a repair shop (Sport Basement) where they fix bicycles, but told us they would tak all day to fix my brakes, so we continued walking to the Fisherman Whraph Blazing Saddles. There, they gave me another bicycle and we were able to get to the Union Square Blazing Saddles.I was very surprised when, in spite of what had happened, they still charged me the rent of the malfunctioning bicycle. This had, along with threatening my life, ruined all our day. The person in charge there, told me it had been my fault, since the bicycle had been alright before I started using it.

Staff is friendly, but prices are too high. The bikes are of really low quality and hard to ride on the 10 mile journey across the bridge.

Hired a full ultegra carbon specialised bike. Road 80miles through stunning Marin county. Best ride in years. Staff really helpful and nice. Chatted to them for 20mins before ride.

Flexible return hours and locations! And the price for a day rental is one of the lowest I believe.

Good bikes and good location but they hold your $100 per bike deposit for couple of days. Then tell you to call your bank.

Biking is not recommended in this town. Neither is this company with bad, old bikes and sneaky costumer service
