Have lived here for 8 years. Moved in 2013 when the building was brand new. This was home and I loved every day I lived here. Really sad to leave. The apartment was sold twice while I lived here. Building management was under a lot of stress during COVID. Things couldve been a little better. BUT everything turned amazing. Sarah, Phi and Jordan do a fantastic job. Always a step ahead and very response. Will miss them and the building dearly!

Ive lived at Etta for over a year and have loved my experience so far. The building is clean and very well maintained thanks to Phi (Community Manager) and Jordan (Maintenance Manager), who are both incredibly friendly and always happy to help.In particular, Id like to highlight how helpful Jordan has been. Ive had a few issues with my dishwasher / garbage disposal throughout my time here and Jordan has been very proactive and quick to respond to any maintenance tickets. Moreover, he always goes above and beyond to ensure that tenants have the best possible experience at Etta.Thank you, Phi and Jordan, for making my time at Etta such a positive experience!

Things have been awesome so far. Moving in was easy. Phi from the front office was in communication with me every step of the way (e.g. helping me get all the paperwork ready in a matter of days, arranging logistics for the the move in).Complex is modern with great views. Demographic skews young. They have parties sometimes -- like an actual party with food and drinks -- and people are very friendly. Also, extremely dog-friendly!I will say that my apartment had several issues of things not working when I first moved in. The dishwasher leaked and there were a few minor fix-its (drawer needed tweaking, patch of wall needed touch-up). The repairman responded almost immediately and let us know what he was planning to do and when. Etta puts a priority on maintaining a high standard for the building.I have only been here a month, so Ill have to write another review in the future, but so far so good.

My significant other and I were looking for apartments near Nob Hill / Pacific Heights in San Francisco and found Etta Apartments. We loved the concrete walls and ceilings and the extra large windows, but most importantly, we liked the friendly staff and the overall cleanliness of the community. Their management team placed hand sanitized at the main entrance and tissues inside the elevator. Also, while touring we noticed their cleaning staff was sanitizing the lobby and gym (btw they have a Peloton - whaaat??). Living in a clean community is one of our top priorities and the reason for us to place Etta on our top 3 places to call home.

My husband and I moved to Etta almost three years ago, and sadly I think this is going to be our last due to the poor management of this building and safety concerns related to changes they’ve made.For the first two years we loved living here. The apartment layout, the floor-to-ceiling windows, the balcony, and many other aspects of the apartment made this a great home for us. The amenities like the gym, patio and lounge were also big reasons we moved to this building and were willing to pay the higher rent. We have a dog, so Ettas dog run was a crucial element for us given the building is in a dangerous neighborhood and we felt unsafe walking him outside at night.This past year has seen a lot of negative changes to the building, however, many of them driven by poor management. The management team has made us feel very unwelcome, which is a sad change from the original team who made us feel happy every day when we arrived home. The new team frequently doesnt respond to emails, makes unannounced changes that negatively impact the community, and responds to questions in either a rude or condescending way. They also have put my family at risk multiple times, like when they deactivated our garage fob without telling us so we were stuck outside the building late at night in an alley full of tent encampments.We are sad to see what Etta has become and hope that the management company brings in a new team to return this community to what it once was. We have made many friends here and will be sad to move away from them if the situation doesn’t improve.

Lived here a year ago and moving back! It was an amazing experience and hoping for another one. The security and maintenance on staff isnt mentioned but they are world class. All the people in the office were friendly and helpful. The dog walk is amazing if you have a pet. The main patio is spacious and has a amazing view but not at the top of a roof so youre not being blown away! AC, appliances and everything top notch! I had a puppy while I was there so I definitely did not get my deposit back but I likely deserve that. I will say though only negative was the checkout process could be better. My situation was different but more transparency (like pictures and/or justification ) and maybe a pre-checkout would help a lot I think.. Still a 5 star place without a doubt! Will update on my next adventure

My wife and I lived in Etta for 1.5 years and recently moved out. I have only good things to say about our time there - from the management to the maintenance and the timeliness to responses. Overall we had a great experience and commend the team for the great work they are doing.

I had the pleasure of touring this beautiful community last week with the property manager Sarah. She had made special accommodations to tour me during my lunch break. Our tour of a one-bedroom and the amenities she was able to show was wonderful! The skyline views are spectacular and my and I loved the floor to ceiling windows. Sarah was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the building. Thanks to her it is one of my top contenders for when my lease is up at the end of November.

I recently called Etta Apartments and got the chance to speak with Sarah the manager. She was super helpful I told her I was relocating and need a place. She asked me what my needs were and matched me with the perfect home. She even offered to send me videos and pictures of the actually apartment I was going to get. She was very warm and and welcoming. It felt like I was talking to a friend about a new home.

My experience has gone from very positive to slightly negative at Etta. When I first moved into the building in 2015, management was very responsive. Over the years the level of communication has deteriorated and I sometimes have to wait weeks to get a simple email response. Response times are very hit or miss. Even when I go down to the leasing office, there is very rarely anyone there. I understand the office was not opened during the COVID19 lockdown, but there was no way to get in touch with anyone via phone or email. When the office did re-open, I find it hard to find a time throughout the day when I can rely on someone being there. Also, sometimes my package deliveries have had to get rescheduled. A delivery attempt is made but no one is in the office to open the door to let the delivery person inside. It gets very frustrating when this happens as I very frequently have packages sent to me with a very sensitive delivery timeline.

Had a tour here recently and the building is very nice. The staff is amazing, especially the manager Sarah! She’s was very attentive and helpful. If my plans didn’t change I would be renting here just because of her!

Dont waste your time with these people. There is a huge inventory out there of units that are up for grabs if you plan to move to the city. They dont have the best location and the staff are difficult to reach. We are shopping for apartments. Etta showed in their website that they have a lot of 2 beds and 2 baths available so I called their number on 11/11/20 to schedule a tour. After several tries, I finally got hold of somebody. The lady I talked to on the other line scheduled me for 11/13/2020 at 5 p.m. Then a few minutes later I received an email confirmation from them. So on 11/13/20 we drove down there while it was raining hard and parked in front of the bldg. We arrived 20 minutes early. When we got inside, however, we noticed that the leasing office was closed but the lights were on. We thought that maybe the leasing agent/s were giving some potential clients a tour so we decided to stay in the lobby and wait. About 30 minutes later, a lady finally showed up. Didnt even ask why we were there until I asked if she worked there. I told her that we were there for a scheduled tour and then I showed her the email confirmation. After hearing it, she said I cant give you a tour because we dont have any units available to show you. So I asked her: Why would you confirm my appointment or why didnt you give me heads up not to come over if you indeed have no apartments to show me? Then she checked the e-mail confirmation I got again and read who sent me the email. After that she said: The guy who sent you the e-mail worked here only for 1 day and shouldnt have sent you that e-mail. So I asked her again: Dont you have access to your system to check the appointments you confirmed? She didnt reply so I said to her: This isnt good. And then we left. The sad part is she knew they made a mistake and didnt even bother to apologize.

Does it get better than Etta? I loved it here and wish I could have stayed. The staff is amazing, especially Sarah! Shes was willing to go above and beyond. I looked at several properties and had so many questions for her and she was more than happy to help me with them and get the answers I needed. In the end I ended up moving to the North Bay because I can now work from home due to Covid, but if I needed to be in the city, I would have chosen Etta...hands down! Im honestly still a little bummed I didnt go with them! Do yourself a favor...rent here!

If you could imagine how stressful It is to find an apartment in this new normal we live in then you would understand where I’m coming from. I took a tour today at the Etta Apartments and all my worries went out the window!!!! Everyone was so welcoming and informative being that i had a lot of questions for my new home being that there are so many unknowns in the the world right now. I got the pleasure to meet the community manger Sarah and she instantly made me feel like i was at home.

Extremely disappointed in the level of communication between management and residents. I’ve tried every single channel, including email, phone, and even the mobile app to get in touch with management about a time sensitive lease renewal situation. Don’t expect to see anyone if you swing by the office downstairs. It’s baffling and downright offensive how often management evades physical and digital contact.The only reason this place even gets two stars is due to the excellent maintenance staff. Any requests are answered within the day, and if maintenance doesn’t reach you, they’ll try again. Thank you guys for being the heroes of this building.

Current resident here at Etta. Im extremely dissatisfied with the management of the building and the lack of leadership from their corporate office. Their lack of concern for the well being of there residents is both appalling and disheartening. If you are looking for a place to call home during these COVID times, I highly recommend you keep looking at different buildings here in San Francisco. I look forward to the day I can provide a more positive review.

After over 2 years of living at Etta, I’m no longer comfortable calling it my home. I used to love it here and actually have referred several tenants in the past. The amenities and apartments are very new and there have been several improvements to the common areas that should make this a great place to live, even though it is in a pretty dangerous neighborhood. Unfortunately, the great facilities don’t balance out the disastrous management of the building provided by the current team.The first thought that comes to mind when thinking about our relationship with the management office is frustration. This was the case before COVID-19 and this crisis has done nothing but reinforce how poorly managed the building is. Some of the changes made by building management around the pandemic have made us feel really unsafe and, when we’ve tried to bring our concerns up to the office, we’ve been met with deflection and no solutions. Recently, the building manager decided to close down the dog run unannounced and with no alternatives or end date presented. There is a tent encampment directly outside the back door of the building (video attached), and the front door has frequent drug use, break ins, and other risks. The management team’s changes force us to take our dog to the streets multiple times per day to use the bathroom, which is especially dangerous at night.Etta no longer is a dog-friendly community, as the management team has increasingly put restrictions in place that dont match what we were told when we moved in. We will be moving out as soon as our lease is over.

Nice apartments, everything works as designed. Prompt response to maintenance requests. Friendly staff.Only downside is its bit expensive if you are not sharing the place.

I have enjoyed the experience of living here great central location near all the restaurants and nightlife on Polk St and just a short walk to Union Square . Management is on point taking care of any issues that may arise .Just had another new Peleton bike ( makes 2 now ) and treadmill installed in the gym .

Been living in this building for 3+ years. Windows are supposed to be cleaned once a year but they were last cleaned in April 2017. Management has not attempted to find an alternative to some broken piece of equipment and when asked said it would take 6 months to fix. Since then no updates. Meanwhile rents keep going up. Management lacks responsiveness and has zero follow up. Unfortunately when you live in a bldg with floor to ceiling windows and you cannot see anything out of them because they are full of dust, soot and grime, it defeats the purpose of those windows.

Lived in the penthouse unit for a year. Echo the issues with management, especially upon moveout. Expect never to see your $500 deposit - they charged us for normal wear and tear painting (Ive never seen a charge for painting between tenants, especially when our roommates had occupied the apartment for 2+ years), as well as carpet replacement. When we asked for evidence of damage they never responded to our note and turned the bill over to collections. They were also unresponsive to requests to clean the exterior windows throughout our tenure. In general, the actual staff in the building are nice, but the management group (sares-regis) is unnecessarily aggressive in the form letters they send and the way they conduct business - would never recommend living in one of their buildings.

Im relocating from Chicago to SF and needless to say after my tour at Etta (originally first on my list of apartments) I would strongly recommend potential renters away from this place.I flew in from Chicago, showed up at the appointment I made a week in advance with the leasing office aka a broom closet in the lobby of the building, and stood in front of the building waiting to be buzzed in for 10 minutes with no answer.Finally I met with the consultant who told me they had no apartments available. It would have been quite helpful to have been alerted to this particularly important piece of info even a half hour before I paid for an Uber to get to the appointment straight from the airport. But fortunately their lack of respect for potential renters time was apparent from the get go.As a side note, their units photograph nicely on the website but the finishes are pretty clearly crappy in person.

Weve been very satisfied with our experiences so far at ETTA. The staff is outright amazing: attentive, responsive and always helpful! Fi and Sarah have all the answers to our questions/inquiries and Jordan is just a superman jack-of-all-trades. Frankly I dont know how his team of one handles so many requests with such speed and accuracy! Very grateful to these folks that make our qualify of living so enjoyable in this building!
