Denise is an absolute life saver!! I booked a boat for my husband’s surprise bachelor party 2 months ago with a different company. I knew it would be busy for Labor Day weekend so I planned everything in advance. I get a call less than two days before, that my boat had technical issues and they couldn’t rebook us because everything was taken. It took two hours to hear back from that contact and by then I had been fortunate enough to find Denise. This angel worked for three hours straight calling every boat imaginable to help us out. All hope was lost in my eyes and she called me after 7pm on a weekday to say she got one. I can’t thank her enough for saving the day and I can’t say enough in regards to how amazing she is. There are not enough people like her in the customer service world. THANK YOU!!!
Beware while booking here. I booked a trip for my son’s birthday online and received a multiple e-mail confirmations back of our trip. We showed up at the correct days next time, to no avail. No one showed up for our trip, and Nick sounded confused when I finally got in contact that morning to see what the situation was. No one was aware of the trip, and it was a big disappointment to say the least. Nick was apologetic and said he would reschedule a trip at a “significant discount”. I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and rescheduled, and Nick verbally quoted me the discounted price. Well when I got the second confirmation of the trip, it was the wrong time. It was changed somehow after I had an initial confirmation of the rescheduled trip at the correct time. I called once again to try and confirm the correct time, and got a verbal confirmation. Then, a couple days later, I once again got confirmation at the wrong time. In addition, I was charged the full price. After a few phone calls and texts back and forth, I was told by Nick that the trip time I wanted was not available and I was pretty much out of luck. There was no attempt to keep my business or make it right, and I was actually made to feel like a nuisance. Not even an offer to reimburse me for the fishing licenses I wasted the money on before our original trip. My son was so looking forward to this cool birthday trip, the whole experience was so disappointing.
Back in August, I began the process of seeking out a 1.5 day six-pack charter to catch tuna. I encountered Denise at San Diego Fishing Company. She was incredibly nice and helpful and said that my boys (9 and 12) and I would have a great time, that this was an excellent tuna season, and that boats, including ours are catching plenty of tuna. She reconfirmed this while collecting the final payment(s). Our entire group was so excited. I brought my adult nephew (30) and niece (23) along, as they were experienced party-boat anglers. Prior to leaving, we went into the tackle shop to get our California Fishing licenses. We were told that Bluefin was hot in Tanner Bank. As I was calling to let our boat know that we were ready, I heard the captain say that they only needed one scoop because they had a scoop from the night before. At the time it meant nothing to me, but it would become a relevant factor to our trip. Upon coming aboard out boat (Tail Magnet), our captain (Joseph) was going over the trip plans and said that we would head up to San Clemente and do some Rock and Halibut fishing. He said the boys would catch a lot of those. Immediately, I protested. I told him that we came from Orange County and could have gotten a day boat to do that for a much cheaper price. I told him about my conversation with Denise and that we were intent on catching tuna. He said that we werent catching any tuna and that those guys (Denise) are used car salesman. We brought up Tanner Bank. He said that there were tuna in Tanner Bank but that we would have to turn around as soon as getting there. I asked him to use his best judgement. The 4 ft swells rocked the boat mercilessly, everyone but me got sea sick. I stayed up all night to keep watch over my boys. The next day we started fishing at about 9 a.m. Throughout the day, we landed on 4-5 small kelp patties throughout the day, never dropped anchor, and never chummed. By the last kelp patty, we were relatively out of bate (this was around 4 p.m.). t seemed to me that there was enough bait to go to San Clemente and fish for Rock fish and Halibut, but not enough to chum or anchor for any appreciable time. Our total time of lines in the water was about 1 hour. We caught 11 Mahi-Mahi, but all were the size of a small bass. After we exhausted the bait we continued trolling using lures, but by this time, everyone was becoming increasing disappointed and sick. The captain informed us that it was going to be rougher than the night before, so I asked if we could just call it and go back. On the way in, my youngest son was talking to the deckhand, Josh. Josh said that they hadnt caught a tuna in more than 10 days. When we got home, I reached out to the boat owner (not San Diego Fishing Company BTW) and expressed my disappointment. He more or less blamed San Diego Fishing Company for suggesting that we would catch tuna and said, well thats fishing. I reached out to Nick and he said he would investigate. That was the last I heard from Nick. If you have time and money to burn with no expectation of a return, then this might be for you. My understanding of spending this kind of money for a six-pack boat is that you are hiring an experienced captain and crew that can put you on the fish. Throughout the booking, the payment, and the final connect before boarding, I was told of the incredible technology and equipment on the boat. There was never a mention that the tuna had dried up or any issues at all. In fact, the owner said that his boat was capable of landing anything. Im not sure if it was working or not, but it didnt improve our odds at all. It did look like the party boats (a couple thousand yards away) were catching fish; we could see that they were constantly chumming. I know a lot of what I write here is in vain, but if it offers insight to at least one person who is considering this boat, captain, or booking company, it might be worth it.
Nick and his crew made the trip fantastic. My daughter and I went out on the 6 hour trip. It was a perfect day. Good fishing, good weather, and a good crew. There was plenty of room on the boat for 6 passengers and the crew of 3. The boat was clean and had a decent size bathroom. Trevor and Steve, Captain Nicks left and right hand guys, were on the ball. They made sure everyone had fresh bait and helped land the fish into the boat. Their patience was incredible as they also worked to untangle fishing lines when necessary. My daughter was the only girl and everyone made her feel welcome and comfortable. She caught the 1st fish of the day :) By the time we arrived back at the dock, our fish were cleaned and ready to cook. (Thanks Trevor) Ive been on the group fishing boats before and this private charter was more enjoyable. The price included reels, bait, drinks, snacks, and lots of attention by the crew. By the time you add up the extras that you have to pay for on the group boats, this private charter of 6 was a great value in comparison. We will definitely be seeing Nick and his crew again. My daughter could not stop talking about what a fun day she had.
I booked a trip with a guy name Nick who presented himself as the owner of a fleet with 22 boats . The guy is nothing but a liar! They shorted our trip in a day and expected us to pay the same. I called, texted and ask via the website to contact Nick but he never responded.. the guy won’t answer to you after you paid. when I chargedback small amount of the payment he finally called me back. He didn’t let me say a word in our conversation and kept telling me to speak to the captain which supposed to be his employee.. I can’t follow his stories.. when I tried to explain my side he hang up the phone on me! rude and liar thats the guy who owns this company. There are a lot of good ppl out there, go look for a better company to book your trip with.
This review is a couple of days late but here it is. On June 7th I went on a six hour trip on the sea sniper with Captain Thomas. I had asked if we could try catching some halibut and Captain Thomas was more than happy to oblige he was very knowledgeable and kept me busy fishing for the six hours. I ended up with 3 halibut and 2 spotted bay bass at the end of they day. I would recommend this trip to any body and will definitely be doing this again soon. Also Nick provided excellent customer service when scheduling the trip or answering all my questions . Over all a great value and great experience
Chartered an overnight June 10th....AWESOME. we chartered the NOMAD 6 pack charter. The trip was epic. They got us on the fish. The captain and crew were the best.( ive taken a lot of charters) super guys and super helpful. Food was great, staterooms were awesome. Very roomy and comfy boat.. I have to take my hat off to the crew. They made the trip fun and SUCCESSFUL. Dont hesitate to book! We are coming back in 4 weeks. We caught 2 LARGE blue fin on the kite and a yellow fin. we were targeting the big blue fin.
We had no idea what to expect since deep sea fishing was new to us. Wow, it turned out to be an EPIC journey thanks to Captain Clint and his mate Daniel. These 2 were as excited as we were and REALLY cared about our catching fish. We caught a 6 ft. Mako shark (kinda glad we couldnt get him in the boat with us) then went out 12 miles for Rockfish and caught 10. Then Clint suggested Tuna trolling and we caught 2 15-20 pounders! We were out 18 miles by then. How did he find these sites? Years of experience. Daniel set up, baited and gave us incredible assistance to make sure we had the best experience ever. He even cleaned and filleted our catch on the way home. Did I say EPIC? This all happened in a 1/2 day charter with my wife, brother, daughter and her fiancee on our own boat with Captain Clint and mate Daniel. BUCKET LIST, PEOPLE!
Captain Mike and deckhand Jonathan were great and made sure our lines were baited quickly so we could catch as many fish as possible. Mike took us out to a great spot with lots of fish. As soon as we dropped our lines, we were reeling back up with usually two fish, one on each of the two hooks. Great day and will take another trip with San Diego Fishing Company next time I’m in town.
Took a 24 hour 6 pack on the Nomad in mid November. Weather was rough, causing some seasickness, and not so great fishing conditions, but the crew was great. Captain Mike, Greg and Josh were professional, understanding of our inexperience and did everything they could to make it a memorable and enjoyable trip.
My husband and I decided to plan a last minute trip to San Diego, to celebrate our belated Anniversary. So planned a deep sea adventure. It was Absolutely amazing, this was my first time and we couldnt have asked for a better captain. We caught some VERY nice size fish, that which two of them are getting mounted on our wall, as a reminder of this awesome weekend. The other 3 will make a great fish fry. We seen dolphins jumping and swimming around our boat, then the MOST AMAZING SIGHT was the little BABY DOLPHIN. Oh man we will totally be doing this again. I want to thank the San Diego Fishing company for making our belated Anniversary the best Anniversary ever. I will never forget the amazing experience. XOXO Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
Trip was on Sunday morning at 5am for a 10hr trip. Recieved a call from Nick on Saturday at 9pm that the boat we were supposed to be on had difficulties with one of the tanks failing. He informed me that one tank was working but attempted to accommodate us by offering us a 20hr trip to San Clemente Island for Blue fin tuna and that would only require us to fish with frozen bait but the catch was, was that the trip would start at 2am.I had family and friends coming down from Los Angeles for this trip so I had to tell them to leave now due to LA traffic to make the trip for 2am. Everyone in my group agreed to the time change. I fell asleep and set my alarm.1am. Got a message informing me that the trip is canceled due to further technical difficulties. My group had just arrived to the dock, even the ones from LA. Guess what.. they had to drive back home.Called Nick when the sun came up said he can reschedule. I asked if I was going to still get the 20hr trip as he promised to make up for the inconvenience and he said that it would go back to the original deal.. got my refund back.
We booked a 24 hour 6 pack trip. Captain Trevor and his crew were top notch. Weather was 10 times worse than forecasted. Even with this. The crew pushed through so that we could have a successful trip. We caught 2 Dorado, 2 Yellow Fin and 15 Yellowtail. We are definitely going to book another trip soon. Thank you Trevor for your professionalism and the crews hard work.
Went out on the ATUN 6 pack and had the time of our lives. Hitting paddys all day that were full of Dodos. To top off the trip on our way back to the docks Captain Clint threw our a Marlin Jig and we ended up putting a 200lb ish Blue Marlin on the deck and safely released back! Thanks guys!
Stay away from this company!!! I reserved a 3/4 day private fishing trip to leave at 7am when we got there we were told the boat was not working and the captain did not feel it was safe to take out. Said he had a smaller boat that he was going to take us out on instead. As he was fueling the boat another group came and said they were waiting for the same boat and had reservations for it. There were two separate groups one with six people the other with four and it could not acommodate more than 6. I recieved no notification of difficulties with the boat. Numerous attempts (both text and phone)were ignored while waiting to resolve this issue. We drove 6 hours and fuel expense and hours of waiting with being told the other group was getting the boat and we were left hanging. I will be pursuing legal action to the best of my ability. PLEASE, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
Had such a great time on our fishing trip! The crew were so helpful and friendly. Been doing a whole bunch of fun activities with my 9 year old son, but every time I asked him what he wanted to do next, he kept saying “fishing”! And so we booked another one 😊
We had a great time. Nick has good customer service skills, combined with Clint’s obvious knowledge of the water and fish, and Trevor is going to be very successful in the industry as well. I really enjoyed being around them all. We caught some good fish, halibut, sand bass, and Bonita. The price is right and the service is as good as any.
Had an amazing time on June 21, 2019- 6hr deep water rock cod did not disappoint! 44 fish kept on the boat with many more released! I could not have asked for a better time and can never go on an open party boat again! Nick will hook you up with the best boat in town! Already booked one in September and working in one for August!
I got together with 5 buddies for a 1/2 day trip and we couldn’t have had a better experience. Nick was very responsive and easy to work with. Our captain Tom and deckhand John were awesome. They took us to great spots and literally within 5 minutes of getting to the spot, we had our first fish on the boat. They had the lines baited and ready to go back in the water before I could blink. I think we caught right around 50 fish between the 6 of us. You can tell they enjoy what they do and that made the trip even better. They filet them up on the ride back and me and my buddies had an awesome fish fry that night. I’d highly recommend a trip with these guys. We are actually planning a day and a half trip towards the end of summer. Thanks guys.
The trip was great. We had so much fun and learned new things about fishing. The crew was very accommodating, helpful and friendly. Definitely would do it again. Thank you!
This was our absolute favorite fishing trip to date!! We had the most wonderful captain who was so polite and accommodating. It was constant excitement because the fish were always biting in the spots he chose. Our whole group caught multiple fish throughout the day. I would book this trip over and over again!
Fun! Fun !Fun!Booked the charter so my boy could have his first fishing experience. He loved it, the crew made sure he got several fish and we had it for dinner! Can’t wait to go again
These guys were great! Would definitely recommend to anyone even if you don’t have any fishing experience. There’s a lot of charters to choose from but I would absolutely use these guys again. They made sure everyone was able to make a catch and we all had a great time!
Capt. Nick and the crew were fantastic. Boat was clean and VERY COMFORTABLE! Caught a bunch of nice fish. Very enjoyable trip! Thanks, guys! A+
I gave this experience to my husband and 21 year old son for Christmas. They had such a great time. They brought home the freshest sea bass I ever had in my life! We will be back for sure. Thanks for such an awesome memory!
We just went fishing last Thursday 1/24/19, myself my son and 4 coworkers. When nobody else was catching fish, Captain Clint put us on the fish and kept us on them. We caught 14 fish and 3 different species, which was great considering its winter. We were in and around the harbor for 4 days and nobody caught fish like we did. Captain Clint and Trevor were great, they listened to what we wanted and then delivered. The boat is great, very comfortable and very safe. I give these these guys 10 stars if I could. I plan to come back this summer and go again. Stop searching you found the right boat!
Nick and the crew were awesome! They provided all the gear, snacks, and a fantastic experience. They are super easy going, fun people and it really felt like a local experience rather than a big company with 30 passengers on board. If you have the option choose this!!!
Me and my buddy took this trip about a month ago. We had an absolute blast! The fishing was a little off due to the whole red tide, but our captain kept a smile on his face and put us on fish regardless of the less than ideal conditions. Captain was also incredibly knowledgable and knew so much about every species. All this aside the trip would have been worth it just for the views and close ups of dolphin pods. 10/10
Beautiful boat with tons of room. Amazing time with Nick, Trevor and Thomas. I am definitely coming back in the summer. When I say crew I am also talking about the dolphins following us and jumping out of the water. If you want a good time, call Nick.
Awesome experience. Highly recommend! Chris was a great captain and took care of us very well. Nick was very informative. I will definitely go out with them again in the future.
Chris was such a fun and laid back captain. He is super knowledgeable about the area and truly cares about making your experience a good one. Highly recommend these guys!!! Had a blast. Thanks SDFC!!!!
Went out on a half day charter, conditions were good, crew was on top of things and very friendly. The fishing grounds were great, came home with my fill of rockfish and sand-dabs. Definitely chartering them again for a longer tuna trip.
Staff was helpful towards experienced and first time fishermen. They did their best to take us where the fish was. Posted price on groupon was incredibly affordable. I would definitely recommend it.
Captain Chris was fantastic. My husband and I enjoyed a no kids vacation after 25 years. Thank you for the great fishing and memories
Clint on the Sundance II was absolutely amazing! We had a blast! Will definitely use him again for our next charter.
Top notch. Was super fun and knowledgeable crew. Caught the fish we were after Halibut and had a feast!! Will def book again.
These guys were top notch and a blast to fish with. I’ll book with them again in the future for sure. They were awesome to my nephews and family. Showed us a great time
I purchased a fishing package from them for my husband for his birthday. We had an AMAZING experience. Clint was our Captian/Guide and he was stellar. He put us right on top of the fish and we caught a bunch! He helped with the tackle and baiting, and everything that we needed. He was incredibly attentive! Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it. We are already planning out next trip!
Great customer service, fair pricing and very accommodating! Definitely recommend to locals or visitors to the SD area! 5 stars
We were in town for vacation with our three children ages 5 and 7. We got a 4-Hour private Charter with fishing and cruising around the area. The captain took us to a spot to have lunch in the middle of the trip and the customer service was outstanding. We highly recommend these guys we will be back next year to continue with the tradition.
We went out for my friends 50th birthday. It was fantastic! The skipper and deck hands were fun and very helpful. We nailed Red Snappers all day! My buddy stole the show with a 21 Snapper that was Bout 15lbs! We are still talking about that trip and will for years to come. Im definitely coming back again!
Great trip! The Sea Sniper was legit! Everyone was awesome, and we were on fish the entire time. I wish I had more time to go on a longer trip.
NickThank you !!We had an amazing day yesterday ! CaptainChris Anderson was exceptionalHe gave my brother and I a forever memory.Looking forward to going out again when we will be here again next AprilThank youScott Forbes - UT.
The captain and crew were great and all 6 of us caught fish throughout the day. Flexible on what we wanted to do and experienced to know where to go. They treated us to a fun day out on the water.
They were amazing!! We caught and kept 4 huge fish in winter! The guys helped teach us how to use the equipment correctly, didn’t make us put our own live bait on unless we wanted to, and even grabbed, stunned, killed, and filleted the fish once caught. If you had questions, they were more than willing to tell you as much as you want to know. You could tell that they were routing for us to catch as many as we could, they would even go as far as fishing with us so we could take more home (size permitting of course). :) Absolutely amazing and friendly guys. We will DEFINITELY be returning, they were worth every penny!
Captain Mike and crew members Trevor and Conor were absolutely amazing. Great energy, super attentative, and accommodating. They were extremely consistent and helpful throughout the day, it made for an absolutely fun and safe environment. Our group of 6 were very happy and satisfied with reaching limit on Yellowtail this past Saturday July 13, 2019. Personally as a beginner, I have to say I really enjoyed the day and want to thank you for the experience
Two 15 lb Bonito right off the bat, 10 minutes after the lines went in the water then the second right after. Tons of halibut, and one well over the minimum length. We had an awesome time and will definitely be back!
We had the most amazing time on this 1/2 day trip. Our initial date/reservation had a few hiccups but Captain Nick made sure we were taken care of- we went out for a 1/2 day on the Even Keel with Captain Leng and caught 6 different types of fish (14 total) within an hour and a half! We’re planning on returning in September for a full day! I highly recommend this company- they had excellent communication, extremely professional and very knowledgeable about where and how to catch!
Nick was vey helpful and knowledgeable in where to fish and how to fish properly. Had the best experience with nick and was quite pleased with the whole charter experience. The boat we were on was quite spacious and accommodative. Was able to lounge about and really enjoy the water. Relaxing yet informative day on the water. Highly advise hanging out with nick on the water. Thanks Nick!
Excellent day of fishing with the crew from San Diego fishing Company. Took the family; my mother, 2 nephews both 14, and my sons 7&9, out on an 8 hr trip we’ll worth it to go with the longer trip and having time to make it out to deeper water and structure. We limited out on rock fish couple pretty nice ones. Multiple times three of the boys were hook up all at once even bringing up double fish. Limited out by 1pm on rock fish so went back into the bay to try for halibut. No luck with the halibut but the boys did catch a few spotted bass and sculpin. One of my nephews a teenager said he “don’t even like fishing but he likes this fishing” I highly recommend San Diego fishing company you’ll have a awesome time out on the water.
The best group of guys. They were so friendly and big on teaching. Didnt make me feel bad I was new to this. Totally going again.
Great trip would highly recommend this for all who enjoy good fishing and good service. This is the trip you will remember and want to come back to
Great trip. Clint was a huge help in finding the fish and a great time was had by all.
Purchased their Groupon for the 6hr fishing trip. My friend and his son went with us, so we had 2 ten year olds. Gabriel our captain was fantastic with the boys. We didn’t catch a lot of fish but we had such a fun time regardless. We definitely highly recommend this company and we will be coming back soon.
We went out With this charter company and it was A great Experience !!! Tom and Trevor were some of the best boat operators I have been around !! A + for there service and knowledge that they shared while we were out on the water!! We choose to do a full day with this crew and it never fell short of entertaining with these two!! They know there home waters and defiantly know how to put you on the fish. I will defiantly be fishing with these two again and would highly recommend them to anyone traveling that way to book a trip with San Diego fishing Company!!!! BONUS !! Dont forget to ask them for there in house grill so you can make fresh Fish tacos out of your catch right on the boat while your fishing !! Trevor makes a great Pico De Gallo !!Thanks Guys for the great day and the tight lines !!RespectfullyMarc Seifert
It was Awesome!!! My fish was the best. My caught was first. 👍The team worked perfect!!! Thx.
The guys were very attentive and showed my son how to fish. They took us to about four spots to try to make the most of the trip. I would recommend them.
My wife had great fishing on your vessel. I definitely recommend trying San Diego fishing out.
Great crew extremely helpful and knowledge caught lots fish. I would highly recommend sd fishing co.
Horrible. These guys cancelled on me the day before my trip. I invited my dad out from AZ to go fishing for his birthday and had to tell him it was off. Very disappointed. The owner would not put us on another boat even after hearing this was for my dad because his profit was more important than our trip. Do not book with these guys!
We had a blast. Crew was professional, boatwas clean, reasonable priced and most importantly we caught fish. looking forward to our next trip
Great weekend long trip, couldnt ask for a better more knowledgeable crew. Put us on the fish everytime. Will come back this summer for the tuna trips!!
This is the best bang for your buck you will get! The trip was awesome, there was two of us and we both caught a ton of fish and had a great experience. We went on the Kraken, driving our boat was Captain Leng. The boat was a bit small although it did its job well. The boat had a small bathroom and a small inside area, but besides that the rest of the seating was outside and comfortable. Captain Leng was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. When it was time to fishing he put us on the fish. Our boat had 3 groups of 2 and we caught enough fish for each group to bring home 15 fish. We found their offer in Groupon but called them and decided to book directly through them. After this trip we will definitely be back and hope that others can have this same amazing experience.
Unbelievably awful experience dealing with Nick and San Diego Fishing Co. My 72 year old parents were coming to visit during prime fishing season and my 6 year old son was begging me to go fishing. I scoured the market looking for a comfortable boat with a cabin, seating, etc so that we could have a relaxing day on the ocean. I chose this company because the Sgt. Fish boat met our needs. I reserved it 3 weeks in advance because it was available on our date. Nick confirmed the boat via text and email and explained that even though they had a Groupon running for inshore fishing for half the price, I should book at full price for this boat and to go offshore. The day before our trip I received an automated email to prepare for our trip aboard the Even Keel, a different boat. I emailed Nick right way 6am No response. I texted Nick 8am no response. I called Nick 12:30 he picks up. He says the Sgt Fish is out of service with multiple problems. I dont believe that it broke that day. He should have called me right away not just send an automated email. He offered me a refund or $200 discount to move forward with the Even Keel and tried to sell me on how it was a better boat and that it has a cabin. He said he would check to see if the Sgt Fish could be fixed in time and said he would ocean test it to make sure. I told him we wanted to fish no matter what since my parents are only in town on this day and my son was counting down the days. No other boats were available in town since the fish were biting. He said he would call me later to let us know about our original boat. 7pm he still never called. I said we would be there 5:30am tomorrow for the Even Keel. He said our captain would call us that night. 8:30pm no word. I text him and he finally calls me 9:30pm. Captain says we need to go at 6:30, not 5am in order to fill the bait tank. My parents are already asleep with 4am alarm set. Need to wake them up to change it.Son wakes me up 5am says we are late. Nope it is changed to 6:30. Show up 6:30 and boat is not ready. We dont depart until 7:15. No chairs. No toilet on board. Cabin is for storage only. My mom has no place to go to the bathroom for 8 hours. She holds it all day and is uncomfortable. Captain talks down about the boat says it is not his boat, his boat is better. Captain talks down about weekend warrior fishermen. What are we? Captain makes comments like Youve got to set the hook, I thought you fished before. That is why we hired you! At one point we have only one line in the water and I have to ask him to rig another pole. We get skunked for 6 hours trolling for tuna near the 9 mile. Captain takes us down to the Coronados and we land some Rockfish. This was a positive. Captain keeps us out for 2 hours longer to keep catching rockfish, also positive. The last 3 hours the boat has a warning beep going off every 5 seconds. Very annoying. Captain does not know what is causing it and does not know how to turn it off. He is down from Long Beach and it is not his boat. Turns out it is not SD Fishing Cos boat either. Everything is for hire it is basically like Hotwire. After our trip I realize that my card was charged for $1,150 the full amount. No refund. I call up Nick and he acts like he never promised the refund and that he would have to check with the boat owner because it is not his boat. I yelled you are in the wrong business and he hung up on me. Over text he explains we got a full day trip for half off, look around. He thinks we are a Groupon customer and cant keep things straight. He admits this. After further texts he says he will refund the $200 himself, please dont post a bad review. Asks for my mailing address. Guess what, over a week goes by, no refund. So bad. AVOID
First rate customer service. Knowledgeable, friendly crew. Had a great time!
We had a great time fishing in Mission Bay with Nick and his crew. They took care of everything. Looking forward to doing it again.
I heard about San Diego Fishing Company from a friend. He knew a family that booked with them and they had a wonderful experience, so I got the number and gave them a call.I booked a trip for April, 2019 for my son’s graduation from high school trip.We were lucky enough to be on Captain Trevor’s boat. Captain Clint was also on board so between the two of them, there was no way we were going to come home without a fish.Excuse my rant but I will say this, and it means a lot to me. Captain Trevor is one great entrepreneur. He has jumped through hundreds of USCG/California regulations/Loan Documents/hours on board a boat time/government shut down delays and whatever else to become a captain of his own Parker which he has a goal of paying off in less than five years. He loves the water and ocean life is in his blood. America is built on the backs of such men and women. If you can book with either Clint or Trevor, they certainly come highly recommended.Anyway, my son and I, along with a family friend, left from H and M landing for a morning, half day tour. We caught several different kinds of fish including halibut, lingcod, sculpin and sea bass. Live bait was used and both my son and our friend chummed for fish by emptying their stomachs into the Pacific. I wouldn’t recommend chumming for fish that way. Don’t be prideful, take the Dramamine. Not once did any of us have to bait our own hooks. We went through probably 50 sardines trying to lure fish to our hooks. Even if the sardines were still alive, they would set us up with fresh bait. The fishing trip is now history, it was both my son’s and my first time deep sea fishing. It was worth the sacrifice for the memory that will last a lifetime. Thanks!
I went out on the early charter 4-4-19 with my girlfriend and had a good time. The weather was a bit rainy, but the boat had plenty of cabin space out of the weather and the captain and crew were great.
Best Captain and Crew by far. Had such a great time.
The crew took fantastic care of us and we were able to take a bunch of fish home to eat.
Our group of four went on a six hour trip and had a blast! We caught rockfish, lingcod, and a huge yellowtail. Captain Clint was amazing!
Bought a $360 Groupon with pictures of a 40 foot vessel. When they booked us they put us on a 22 ft skipjack. We called to see why and the man who answered was rude and unprofessional. This company is over-priced and falsely advertised. Would not recommend this company.
Crew was very accommodating and was a great experience
