Warning: do not book with Wild Goose if you don’t want to have a ton of fun and catch a bunch of fish.We booked an 8 hr offshore trip with Wild Goose for our group of six. We were happily greeted in the wee hours of the morning by Captain Ray and his first mate Ernie. They already had the boat gassed up and all the gear setup. We brought a few soft coolers to keep us fueled and hydrated for the day, grabbed some bait and were fishing by the time the sun came up.Ray and Ernie were awesome. Our group can get a little rambunctious and they were cheerful and enthusiastic throughout the whole trip. They are both really proactive during the trip, which made things easier and more enjoyable for us. Captain Ray always found great fishing spots (we went to 4-5 different spots during the trip) and Ernie made sure we always had fresh bait and all our lines in the water.By the end, the six of us caught eight fish and had a few others hooked. We were all novice fisherman and the crew helped coach us so that we had some technique and were able to reel in some big tuna.Overall, wouldn’t change a single thing about the trip or our experience. Will be recommending Wild Goose to all my San Diego buddies and booking additional trips in the future.

I took my friends, most of whom have pretty limited fishing experience, for a full day offshore trip and it was an absolute blast. Captain Ray had us on the fish all day long and both him and the deckhand were top notch. They took the time to help my friends get the proper techniques down and I even got some tips on how to properly shoulder hook my bait. Can’t recommend them enough and I know we’ll be back again next year. Thanks again for a great trip!

Started fishing with Captain Ray 5 years ago. His knowledge of how to fish, where to fish, tactics of fishing are off the charts. The guy lives and breathes fishing. Every charter has been a success. It is something we look forward to every year.

Captain Ray and first mate Ernie got us on the fish and we could barely keep up. Over 50 fish (yellowfin, skipjack, and one dorado) by the end of the day. Both were very helpful with a group of us that had minimal ocean fishing experience. Also got to see some cool dolphin pods. Boat was very nice and the 360 walkaround deck was super helpful when we had hookups around the entire boat. Definitely a day to remember.

The Captain ignored our dive flag and motored his boat to within 20 yards of my friend who was in the water at North Island of the Coronados. My buddy had just shot a fish the the Captain of the Wild Goose saw it and wanted some of the action. We were anchored and flying a dive flag. My buddy in the water had a big bright yellow float. Buyer beware! This guy is reckless and rude, he will get someone killed, its just a matter of time!

Great people, Great boat, Great trip. I can’t recommend these folks strong enough.Ray and Anthony were amazing- always helping the kids and making sure they were having a good time. They have fished their entire lives. Ray communicates everything well, no surprises.The boat is extremely clean, smooth riding and quick. They can fish in 8 hours what others fish in 12. No sea sickness and no getting “beat up” for us.The trip was exactly what I’d hoped for. Fun and Memorable for the kids. I’ve fished my whole life and used to guide. I can tell you that these are the guys you want to fish with whether you are hardcore or out to have a fun family trip with the kids.

Had the best day out on the ocean with Wild Goose! My boyfriend and I went on their harbor cruise and it was a blast. Captain Ray knows his way around the local waters and showed us a great time. We even saw some dolphins cruising around! Will absolutely be booking with Wild Goose for many more ocean adventures.

Machelle the kids and I went out with Capitan Ray and Anthony and it was everything we could have hoped for!! The boat was very nice and clean.. Ray and Anthony were very knowledgeable and helpful! We caught some decent fish and even saw some dolphins, which was an unexpected bonus!! We had so much fun and Ray and Anthony were incredibly friendly!! We cant wait to get back and fish with them again! Definitely would recommend wild goose fishing to anyone!

Had a great team building work trip! Cap Ray got us on the fish and landed a couple Yellowfin and Rockies on the way home. Definitely booking with them again again!

Awesome trip! Captain Ray & first mate Anthony were great guys and worked hard to put us on the fish. We caught an early- season bluefin and stocked up on rockfish at the Coronados on the way back in. The boat was very clean and the full walk-around was perfect for our party (4 people). Highly recommended .

I have been on several trips aboard the Wild Goose and Captain Ray always makes sure everyone has a great time. Offshore for Bluefin, Yellowfin or Yellowtail or rock fishing the Coronados, the boat rides nice and Ray is determined to land fish. We have taken our young nieces and nephews with us and they had a blast!
