The barbers here are amazing. I tried a couple of other barbershops around the area before trying Gold Comb and I have only been there since. None of the pretentiousness of some of the other more modern barbershops.Ive had cuts with Cruz, Adam and Travis and Ive been extremely happy with all of them. I did love how Travis also explained how and why he cut my hair in the manner that he did - it makes it easier for me to understand and explain it to another barber if I were to get my haircut somewhere else, but that wont be happening unless I were to be out of town.The biggest downside is parking, but thats a known issue in North Park, but morning appointments, youll usually find parking pretty quickly. Theres also a laid parking lot if all else fails.

Alex has been my go-to barber here for over a year, and I’ve loved every cut. The shop is super chill and inviting. All the barbers are friendly and offer fairly priced services.

I had such a positive experience at this place. As long as I live in San Diego I will be coming here to get my hair cut, period end of story. Cruz is the best and I am not exaggerating when I say this was the best haircut I have had in my entire life. As if that wasnt enough to bring me back the atmosphere is just really awesome and chill with great music and conversation to match. These people are artists.

Travis! I started going to Travis about a year ago and now I cant imagine going to anyone else. He has consistently given me the best hair cuts and beard trims. Even better he taught me how to better style and manage my hair between sessions.And of coarse, Travis and the Gold Comb team have created a very relaxed and comfortable vibe. The place is just cool!

Gold Comb is just plain awesome. The barbers are top notch people and killer at what they do! Its literally the only place I trust to cut my whacky curly hair, so much so that Ive been following these barbers around for over 5 years. Ive had my hair cut by at least 4 of their barbers, and the cut always comes out clean. They can even hit you with the hot cream razor finish around the edges. Dont waste your time going anywhere else, this is the spot!

Years ago I unknowingly clicked two stars and I had no idea. This was a huge error on my part. Without a doubt this is the best barbershop in San Diego. I’ve been going here for the last four years. I have been going to gold comb since its inception, and while i almost always get my cut from Monica, I have gotten cuts from Travis and Adam as well, and cannot recommend this place enough. The staff all really care about their craft. They do a killer job and knock it out of the park every single time. Great conversation, fantastic shaves, and phenomenal fades. 10/10 would recommend.

Ive been coming to the Gold Comb Barbershop for about four years now. Excellent barbershop with top of the line barbers. I always go to see Travis, who is terrific. I would highly recommend making an appointment with him, although all of the barbers at the shop are fantastic.

He listens to your concerns and thoughts and gives his own opinion on what he think might work best for you. He has a very natural haircut style and always makes my beard look perfect. Ive been coming to GC for a few years now starting at their old location which I loved. They recently upgraded to a larger spot right around the corner and its equally as impressive. Same great design, just grander.My barber, Travis does a superb job. His detail-oriented approach creates the consistency Im looking for in any barber. Hes also great to converse with on many topics so it makes the experience even more robust.With great prices, service and location, its hard to find any reason why you wouldnt try out your next cut or any other related service at GC!

The only place i get my hair cut.. everyone that cuts hair is really good. But ive been going to Linzy for over a year now. As with everything in life you get what you pay for.. and Gold Comb is worth every penny

I am from out of town and just stopped in real fast. Cruz was able to get me in and did a a solid job. I’m a stylist so I’m always paranoid about going to someone new. I’m thankful to have seen Cruz.

Tried to get a Mohawk. The barber acted like I was crazy when I asked for it. Some of the worst hospitality I’ve experienced in San Diego. After the first pass I asked him to make it more like a Mohawk and he just wouldn’t fade my hair up. It looks nothing like a Mohawk. The closest thing to compare this haircut to is on a sportsclips level if not worse. This place should not be ranked #2. I paid $40 for a haircut and hate it. I’m just too nice to complain, but I should have. One star.

Awesome shop, great cut, great conversation, cold beer or water at a good rate, all barbers are top notch. Monica gives the perfect gentleman’s cut, not one hair out of place. Can’t recommend highly enough.

I always used to go to genetic barber shops to get my hair cut, and they always left something to be desired. I finally decide to treat myself and try something new. Got my first haircut from Adam and was shocked that I had waited so long to make this change. When he told me he was opening his own place I of course became a client and have never looked back. The barbers really take their time to make sure you always get a great haircut

Not trying to be comparable but its a tiny little cheap copy or Mr B on university ave overall 2 place where my Man got a haircut by a young girl I think he told me on the 3 chair or something like that he ask for Gentleman Hair cut was uneven hard PART was way too tick quality of the haircut was ok not for the price do she took a long time too waste of time and money thanks again Gold Comb more like broken too me
