Just moved here from SF so my standards in a barber are fairly high, admittedly. I found Anthony and Bay View from both reading reviews online and from the recommendation of a friend. I have to say, I am so glad I came here.Anthony gave me the best cut Ive had in a long time, at a price that beats most others. Other shops couldnt fit me in (or didnt seem to care to) but he fit me in and didnt seem to mind. Very charismatic, outgoing dude who made me feel at home.Im happy to say Ive found my new barber.

Stopped by Bay View Barber Shop for cut and am now a regular. Alex was my barber and he gave me such a fresh cut. I was so impressed by his attention to detail. It’s refreshing to find a shop where the barbers care more about the detail and giving you exactly what you are looking for, rather than speeding through the cut to get to the next customer. Anthony is the owner and he was so welcoming when I first walked in and he greeted me with great hospitality. I absolutely recommend Bay View Barber Shop and make sure to ask for Alex for a cut, you won’t regret it!

Legit! Best cuts in town, no doubt. Dont worry about parking, you can park in garage or street. Anthony is outstanding and so is Mayra. These cuts are performed by seasoned professionals that care about details. Lots of open space to entertain yourself if you walk in, but I would make an appointment. Second time getting my hair cut by Alex. His attention to detail is incredible. Ive never had someone care about my haircut the way he does. All the guys at the shop are super welcoming and treat me like family. Got a complimentary cold beer while I got cut too! Ask for Alex when you go in. You wont regret it. Client for life!

Im glad to see that Anthony has changed venues and had to cajones to be a true believer in his abilities to perform his craft by opening THE Bay View Barber Shop. With truly masterful hands, Anthony steadily and consistently delivers great haircuts (I cant say perfect cause no ones perfect, but theyre pretty darn close to perfect) to exactly how I describe them.Mind you, I never remember what guard I used last. I had no clue on the technique he performed, but yet my cut, whether it be a haircut or a flat blade shave, is amazing - every... Single... Time.Lets talk about the haircut - Anthony knows how to guide your head around to do what he needs to do without you needing a chiropractor after the fact. Hes very deliberate in his actions, so this is not your flash bang oh crap, I need to look sexy in 9point2 minutes for my date down the street at Mona Lisas kind of place. Although I have no doubt that Anthony could whip it out, given his 17 years of experience. This is a place that while fresh and new takes us to a better time when people experienced life and didnt rush through it.The flat blade shave - just do it! Be a man and get it done. Nothing is more about the experience than this and not many other experiences are truly a mans moment to enjoy. Sure, I know how to use my safety razor, but if Im on the chair, why not let a master do his thing and enjoy the moment? As I write this review a day after my shave, I still look fresh and none of those spots I always miss that you tell yourself not to forget are missed. Its not just about the shave. This is where you get to lay back and truly see the focus come out. Anthonys skills are more evident and you know hes not messing around. An air of seriousness feels the room, cause lets be real. There really is a knife to your neck nowThe shop was brilliantly decorated. There was definitely a lot of thought and time put into the place. I cant wait for it to be finished and see what transpired. It has a very homely, comfortable feel due to the use of a lot of wood, but its very classic, yet fun and hip at the same time. Whatever youre age or gender, its just a fresh and comfy place.To sum things up and if Yelp made me make my reviews shorter, Anthony has a personality that will bring the conversation out of you. He has a genuine interest in his fellow man and that comes out immediately. He is truly a master of his craft, and you his patron are his benefactor. His creation, the Bay View Barber Shop is a genuinely community focused venue and Im sure it will be a staple in Little Italy and the San Diego community.

He is great about telling you what will work with your hair and making suggestions to ensure that you always get the best hair cut possible. The owner Anthony is an amazing barber and anyone nearby - or from anywhere! - should stop in for a cut. Affordable, QUALITY cuts in a cool part of town with good conversation. Ive been going to him for years now and Im happy to see him open his own shop. I know with the quality he represents and the pride he takes in his work that hell only hire barbers who can help him live up to that standard.

Anthony and the staff are exceptional and make you feel like you are at home. The barber shop has a small town feel in a big city. I walked in with no appointment and got started with no delay. I feel bad because I cant remember the very nice lady that cut my hair but she was very good. They have a bad ass ping pong table to use if you had to wait. Killer killer vibe.

Walked in at 6pm and was able to get a cut right away. The owner Anthony was very nice and did a solid job, could have charged me more and I wouldnt have minded. Easy to walk to in Little Italy. Definitely worth checking out.

After trying several different Barbershops & Gentlemans hair salons in the SD area, I found that Anthony and the Bay View team offer the best mix of Quality Cuts and cost.

Anthonys shop has a great welcoming and an easy going vibe. He was friendly and managed to fit me into his schedule last minute. Well versed in his craft, he gives simple vision for whichever hair style intended. If youre in San Diego and you need a hair cut I highly recommend you stop by!

Anthony has been giving me super consistently clean haircuts for two years. He also advised me on growing my beard out and does all the touchup work once every two weeks. 10/10 on service and skill.

Good cut, the barber was friendly and took his time with my cut, and used a straight razor for my fade. The music was also excellent if youre into as into Steely Dan as I am. I found the price to be rather steep, but I dont get many cuts in San Diego so that could be locational. The space itself was sort of strange, seemed like a cross between someones garage and someones basement, between the ping pong table and pile of old furniture not being used.

Anthony, the owner was a pleasure to meet. Great friendly atmosphere, professional and down to earth. When Im down this way again I know where to go for an excellent haircut and service. Cheers, Paul

Ok barber shop, the staff was friendly but they seem a little rushed. the venue is huge but just seems to be filled with random items. its better to make a reservation ahead of time as they dont like walk ins too much

Great place to get a cut, the whole shop seems very vintage and it felt a lot different (in a good way) to get a cut here compared to other typical barbershops.
