They don’t keep appointments. Same excuse from the other reviews. They tried to accommodate me by passing me to another barber. Not good practice. If you make an appointment and then the barber confirms your appointment than there shouldn’t be no excuse on why that appointment shouldn’t be kept. Stop using the notion that the barber got behind. Barbershop just has bad business practices.

Excellent support! I was overjoyed and grateful to the technician who trimmed my hair. He was informative, polite, and pleasant. Furthermore, his manner of giving haircuts to customers was both admirable and endearing. To be honest, it was a rewarding and worthwhile experience to visit here. It was fantastic. Great place but super busy. Appointment required. Nice atmosphere. Feels like everybody knows everybody. Lots of regular customers, like it should be for a business like that. It is great seeing they have a loyal customer base.

They are really helpful and accommodating, and you can check-in online via their website. Their prices are similar with most barbershops, but other shops arent quite as large and sanitary. They have a waiting room with sofas, and you can get free coffee or drinks while you wait! I award them 5 stars and will recommend them!

Went there and got a haircut last Thursday! I arrived kinda early; so I had to sit outside and wait. When my appointment time came up: Coco, (the Barber who cut my hair) allowed someone who arrived long after I did the chair. I said nothing! Thereafter, I believe the manager came out and explained there being backed up all day. Anyways, I got a cut, highlight, beard trim and a black peel for $60. He didnt highlight it enough. But its cool I guess! Debating whether Ill return...

I had an appointment with Nick at 3:15. 15 minutes before the appointment I got a notification that Nick changed the time to 3:30, no big deal. I still got there at 3:15 still and Nick was sitting down another client down. I figured maybe it’s a quick line up or something. Nope, I waited until 4:00 and he was still cutting the other other client during my appointment. I decided to leave. Appointments cost $40, walk ins cost $20. You would expect that to at least mean on time service, but that’s not the case.Note: Nick has cut my hair once before and he did a good job. I had an appointment that time too and waited 20 minutes past my appointment time. Still had to pay the appointment price.

Called at 5:30 pm they close at 7 asked if they had time for a boys haircut he said ultra come on over. Got there at about 5:42 and waited till 6:08, there were 3 employees two were cutting hair and one was cleaning up and then he sat down and did absolutely nothing for over 20 minutes watching us stand outside with a 3 yr old. Finally just left. LAZY if you don’t want to work. Go home.

I wouldn’t recommend this shop. I am in town from New York on a very important trip and dropped in due to fact I did not have time to do so beforehand. I got my haircut for over an hour and when it was done it was the most mediocre haircut I had ever received. There were three or four heads completed before mine that sat down after me. He took all that time and did nothing. Also, it didn’t like anyone leaving had a good haircut. Bunch of amateurs in there. Would not recommend

What an awesome business. I have gone there time and time again for haircuts for myself and for my kids. Every time I have gone, I have left happy. They are great with the kids haircuts. They are patient, friendly, gentle and understanding with the kids as they cut their hair, and they make sure that the kids are enjoying the experience and talk them through it and show them what they are doing, to ensure the kids arent scared. The atmosphere of the shop is friendly, the barbers are great, and overall, the business is an example of a what a small business should be.This time, I went and Mac was our barber. He did a great job cutting my sons hair, shaping it, and giving me some advice on how to care for his hair. You cant go wrong with any of the barbers here, they are all exceptional at their craft, but Im just saying, if Macs chair is open, give him a chance and hell take care of you.

Walked in no appointment today, shawna/ Shanna (not sure on the name) was very professional. Good on the clippers and quick with cut. Price was good ($18). Owner was there cutting hair and cleaning up the shop. Which shows he is not above doing the grunt work. That speaks volumes about people. Also got the chance to see him cut a gentleman’s hair while I was getting my hair cut. He used a straight razor with some skill. Think I found a spot to get my stuff done.

The best Barbershop in SD that I know of. I have been to several, and these guys always make me feel better leaving than when I am coming inside the place. Peoples the barber is the best barber I have had since Ive been in San Diego. He is attentive to the customer and listens to what the customer wants for there haircut. He has given me the only solution Ive ever received to keep my hair healthy and not dry. The overall barbershop is family oriented professional. All the barbers have different life experiences and sports opinions so it makes for good conversation.

TL;DR: Your paying $20 for a $12 haircut.I went to Rawknykz Six times before I deiced to quite. The first time a lady cut my hair and she did great, when I cam back I asked for her and they said she left. I got cut by someone else and he also did great. These where the only good hair cuts I got. The rest were bad or sub-par.I dont mind the barbers talking, joking around or having fun which rawknykz is like. However, there is a line between that and straight up being unprofessional. My barber took two phone calls mid cut (stopping the cut completely). He did an okay job but didnt give me the cut I asked for because he didnt hear me (mid fade vs high fade and not the right length off, small but annoying due to the phone thing).Lastly, I walked in (because appointments cost a lot more, no problem). The guy they had cut me looked new and young but I went with it. He messed up my edge up on the front and didnt even-out the top right. I went home and evened-it-out myself but couldnt do anything about the edge up but try an pick it out. Thats when I stopped going.

Wish Id found this shop sooner- SD doesnt have a huge selection good shops for Black/ Hispanic cuts(originally from Chicago). Chris (Coco) is amazing with my sons 4c hair, I was almost reluctant to leave this review cause I dont wanna share hin lol! Cant say enough about the professionalism, respect for your time, and SKILLS of all the barbers..but Coco will be my sons barber 4 life!!

Best haircuts in SD hands down. The whole vibe of the shop is lively, upbeat, and inviting. They do a great job cutting hair and you cant beat the price for a cut that comes with a straight razor clean-up which I feel most barbers just dont do anymore. Make sure you come early or call in advance because the place is ALWAYS packed, theyll give you an accurate picture of the wait time. The owner Nick is highly skilled and often gets caught up but I cant blame him he always does what he can to please his customers and keep the atmosphere of the shop alive. He makes sure every person is greeted, signed in, every child is happy, a conversation is going, and that the music never dies. Ive tried many of the other barbers and theyre all great. Rawknykz gets +5 in my book and is my go to barbershop.

1st of all the staff here is awesome, however my 1st experience was not a great one. I came in on Friday and I requested a 3 on top and a 2 on the sides. This location is known to be very busy I got lucky and got a spot at 12. The young girl that cut my hair was cool but she unfortunately cut my hair all over at a 2, and she accidentally cut part of my forehead, not painful but noticeable. Today Sunday the awesome gentleman at the register was cool understood my situation and gave me my money back. As I was leaving there was a kind barber who offered to fix my haircut, however I declined because my hair was too low to modify. So I kept it the way it was, my hair will grow back in due time. They are human and mistakes happen, unfortunately it was my turn. The girl might need to practice some more, to get it down right the first time.

Man I was excited when I found a spot close to my house. The vibe was good. But being from the east coast we are loyal to barbers. This spot has a couple of rookies and just felt like I landed one. Cause he left spots in my head and taper was mediocre. Line up was horrible. Sorry vibe of the shop was dope but cut was not good.

My boyfriend and son went to get a haircut and all I can say is this place needs to be shut down. My boyfriend has cuts all around the back of his head. He says he would feel the barber pressing into the back of his head and sure enough he has really bad cuts. They shaved off all of his sideburns and certain areas of his head look longer than other. By far the worst place. My sons hair is so uneven and just awful. I do not recommend this place. The only reason they went there is because the barber they go to had a long wait. Moral of the story... next time just wait the hour!!!! By the way they don’t even deserve one star.

So I read reviews about this place and they seemed legit. This place was close to the crib so I thought I would hit it up. I only went cause my barber was out of town. I asked for a skin fade medium with a 2 on top and a lineup. The fade was not great it was decent the lineup was horrible. The worst part was the barber didnt even cut the top right with a 2. I had to go home and line myself up right to make it look presentable. Ill continue to drive my 30 min for a great haircut vs the 5min drive to this place.

The Barber Shop with the weird name is the place to go. The prices are reasonable, and they really take their time with your cut. All the staff is always friendly, theres a great environment of comraderie in the shop. Tell them what you want, and they will take care of you. Some days are busy, so be ready to wait a while. Its totally worth it though.

If there was a zero stars I’d leave that. I asked for a low fade tapered into what I already had, while leaving the top alone. I walked out looking like a disgruntled muppet. The guy blamed my terminology for receiving a bad haircut. I’ve been to barbershops all over the country, I travel 22 days out of the month, and have always asked for the same thing. Poor service, I believe his name was Sammy. I’ll only come here again around Halloween, since I plan on looking like a 1920s villain with a horrible head of hair.

Everything was good. The wait was decent and my barber was nice and friendly. I didnt feel rushed at all. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 being that after they finished my hair they offered to take me into an area behind a curtain to give my pubic hair a tape up. I thought that was weird but I figured why not. It was very uneven down there.

They dont take walk-ins, your a shop that dont take walk-ins....on a Friday,i go there they say appointments only cool, I ask can I set an appointment(for Saturday) they say no! You have to call day of....thats a walk-in. Ive never been to a shop where somebody didnt wanna make money and turn a potential client, I live 4 mins away from them ! Thats guaranteed money but Ill be taking my money elsewhere,no appointment needed!

I took my 3 year old twin boys here.....The staff was amazing. Two of the barbers offered to cut my twins hair at the same time and did remarkable jobs. Each time I have visited, the barbers chosed and gave freshess cuts without me asking. I would recommend this shop to everyone.

No professionalism with disregard of sequence to whom arrived. Seems they take interest in known clients, which by no means let me intrude although not after Ive waited over 45mins. The haircut was not my best so tip was never an option. The cost was outrageous especially since advertisement states 13$ for military with blade but I was charged 18$ after I refused to pay 20$. Ultimately Ive moved on to a different location just providing my two cents.

My line up is not crisp.my haircut was not cut in correct formation.the barber did not pick my hair out to cut it evenly.my hair is very important to me as i have had quality haircuts and know the difference. 30$ down the drain. Def should not have paid. 30$ for a taper less than a inch and uneven cut on top.

From the moment you walk into Rawknynz Barber Shop, you IMMEDIATELY know youve found your home. Im greeted by EVERY single barber in the shop like they are the owner and are welcoming you to their home, therefore immediately making it MY home.For those complaining about the wait, I went in at 2pm, signed up on the list (as expected based on all the yelp reviews about the wait) and before my seat even got warm (about 30 seconds), I was invited to sit in Damontes chair.Ive been going to barbers for at least 30 years. Damonte is in my top three barbers in those 30 years. Ive been waiting a LONG time to find another barber like the previous two that have been my favorites. All I had to do was show him three pictures on my phone of my favorite haircuts and the rest was all Damonte. The man is an artist.From the banter between the barbers to the entire environment of the shop, I must say that based on my experience today alone, I will be coming back to Rawknynz for LIFE.
