I have been going to Robert’s Auto Service over the past 5 years since moving to San Diego. The mechanics at this shop are fair, professional, and courteous with their customers.When I first moved to SD, I had an old beater car that needed constant repairs. They worked with me and my budget and only fixed what absolutely needed for the car to run safely. I have a better car these days but still bring it to Roberts because of their honesty and high-level mechanical work.

I needed service on my Fiat 125 Spider and the dealer in Carlsbad wouldn’t set appointment times. I called Robert’s and they said they would be happy to do my scheduled maintenance. I got an appointment very quickly, they explained everything they were going to do and gave me a very reasonable quote. They called to say a part was not available and gave me options on how to address the issue. When my car was ready they called and explained what they had seen and gave recommendations for things to keep an eye on. They were not high pressure, they explained everything thoroughly with detail and no double talk. My family has gone to them before and I will service my car there from now on. I recommend this business.

James at the front desk is extremely helpful...mechanics are well trained. Have. Been Working with Roberts for many years...and we have an antique Mazda that they have maintained for many years...Great service...honest assessments and good service all around.

Gear shift knob was replaced and given an inspection of the suspension which they found no malfunctioning parts with it. Overall, a great service along with constant feedback from their service manager which always kept me in the loop. Will return for any future services needed.

The right-rear passenger power window refused to budge, up or down. It happened to be down at the time so something had to be done. Ive been taking our cars to Roberts for several years now and, as anticipated, everything was taken care of to my satisfaction. Always friendly and professional, the crew at Roberts take most of the worry out of auto repair and maintenance (they are not inexpensive but I feel worth it knowing the job will be done correctly the first time and not require repeated trips to resolve the same issue).

Weve been going to Roberts for years. They are honest, kind, and not out to nickel and dime you for every little thing. They will be very upfront about what you have to do now, and what you can put off until you have the funds. I wouldnt go anywhere else in town.

Very honest! Called in asking about whether or not this is a mechanic shop that can use the fluid and parts I supply and whether or not they can install an oil catch can for my GDI engine. Christian was super helpful letting me know that if an oil catch can is installed it may void the dealer warranty. Thank you for letting me know 😊 He was also upfront and let me know they don’t install parts or fluids with a customer bringing it in. Saving me time! I didn’t have to go there just to find this out! My truck died and AAA recommended Roberts which was close to home, so had it towed there. I suspected a fuel pump, which they confirmed and replaced. Dropped it late Friday afternoon and it was ready the following Tuesday. All good! I only selected 4 out of 5 because I never give 5s.

Above and beyond serviceI took my car in for work on my brakes. They were very busy and said it would take longer than usual so they would have it done by the end of the day. I said fine, no problem. Their courtesy shuttle took me home. They typically close at 5 pm. They called me at 4:30 to say my car was ready. Their courtesy shuttle driver had left for the day so the manager Chris said he would order a Lyft to come and pick me up. He called back within 15 minutes to say Lyft was not responding so he would come get me. All of the people working there were very nice and stayed well after closing to allow me pick up my car. Any other repair shop would have said sorry pick it up tomorrow. They stayed late and didn’t rush me at all. They checked over my car and saw it was 2 quarts low on oil and put it in my car free of charge. They also checked my tires and several other things on the car that needed attention in the future. The car is a 2012 and does need preventative maintenance. They weren’t just adding frivolous things to fix, to increase their business, they were plenty busy and didn’t need to push for more business. They were all legitimate necessary repairs to be aware of fixing at some point in the future. I really liked their courtesy, straightforwardness, and no pressure approach. I will be back in for more service on my car. They were extremely professional, could not have been nicer and made the experience with them really positive. Great experience overall! Brought my chrysler in for an oil leak. Diagnostic and repair was fast. Mostly spoke to Christian and he was fantastic. Honest, reliable, affordable work.

I brought my car in to checked out: it would make a weird thud sound upon acceleration (but very inconsistently) and I asked if they could check my brakes. Their customer service was outstanding and made me feel like I could trust them and their opinions. They called me a few days later and told me that from what they could see everything was running fine, no codes were popping up nor could they replicate what I had been describing AND my brakes were still good. Just my luck that my car decided to behave once it was in the shop! I went down to pick up my car and to my surprise I wasnt being charged! I was prepared to pay $130 diagnostic fee. I really value their honesty in an industry that would normally take advantage of a clueless person, especially women. I will definitely be a returning customer!

Before scheduling an appointment, I reviewed many auto service businesses in the San Diego area, and was most impressed with a near 5 out of 5 quality rating from nearly 1,000 individuals. So I decided to take a chance to have Roberts service my 2017 Mercedes C300 (I am always hesitant to go straight to the dealers). This was a very positive experience. Christian squeezed me in at the last minute, took care of all the car needs in a very swift and complete fashion, and the price was very reasonable; in fact, as a new customer, I got a very large discount which was not expected. I will definitely go back there for all of my four vehicles.

My car was having issues with randomly not having the battery start. I wasnt sure if it was the battery or alternator and didnt want to waste money buying one thing for it to be another. I called in the morning and they told me they could take care of me that day. Keith and Juan did an amazing job with customer service taking care of my diagnostic testing and replacing my battery. I even got free installation and diagnostic testing for being military. I only had to pay for the battery. They did everything quickly and it runs like a champ now. Also I saw they offer free towing to their shop which I didnt personally use but thought it was a bonus for them. Highly recommend these guys. The parking is tight but they can help get you where they need your car.

Dont get me wrong, Ill probably come back here. Also, they were very honest about not finishing the job, and gave me a price cut.What they didnt warn me of, was that my lights werent full brightness anymore and that the turn signals werent working anymore. Kind of a big deal for me, when Im driving it back home on the highway...

Took my older vehicle in for 120K service, and the intake person reviewed what needed to be done (per the manufacturers suggested list) and provided an estimate which turned out to be very accurate. Halfway through the maintenance they did find additional work needed to be done, which could not have been foreseen, and they called with a revised estimate, explained my options, and asked what I wanted to do. Ive always been happy with Roberts Auto Service, enough so that I always recommend it to anyone who needs good (and in my opinion, honest) auto maintenance.

My cars control arms and sway bar links were in bad shape. I took my car to them and got those parts replaced the next day. My car stopped making those annoying loud creaking noises every time I turn or hit a speed bump.The mechanic done an excellent job, quality work for a fair price. Need replacement on my rear brakes and I wasnt sure if I would need my front changed as well. The team at Roberts Auto Service was awesome. Easy to make an appointment with. Then when I showed up quick to get my car back to check what needed to be done. Honest with me that my front brakes were fine. It was only the rear that needed to be changed. Few hours later everything was done at a very reasonable price. Very happy and will be back.

I have taken 2 vehicles to be serviced to Roberts, and have had positive experiences each time. These guys are experienced, professional, efficient, and friendly. I believe they do great work and are highly qualified mechanics and technicians. I have had personal interaction with Keith and Christian, and I trust them with their recommendations on the services required on my cars. They are super nice guys to work with, and the kind of auto repair providers that a woman in her senior years can feel comfortable working with and confident that she is not being taken advantage of.

I’ve been taking my cars to Robert’s Auto for years, through two cars. They are very professional and do not try to up sell. At the same time, they’ll always tell me if something needs to be done for my safety - like when they were pretty adamant when I needed new tires, but weren’t insistent I purchase from them. My car has very low miles, so the standard maintenance schedules don’t apply to my car. Robert’s Auto doesn’t push for standard schedules, rather, they recommend maintenance levels based on my actual miles and time from last service. I love that they keep records for me as I’m not good at taking care of my car.They’ve always given me a ride home and pickup when I haven’t felt like waiting. My car is always ready on or before time. They are extremely nice people and always patiently answer all my questions and explain all work they do, even for a simple oil change.They keep my car safe for my driving needs. I highly recommend to anyone wanting good, reliable maintenance for their automobiles from honest, friendly processionals.

I was having a tough day.It was 7:30 am, and I was driving to get coffee when I heard a weird scratching noise coming from the bottom of my car.Knowing nothing, I pulled into the nearest lot and prepped my duct tape.The skid plate was hanging on the ground 🤦🏻‍♀️Robert’s was just around the corner, so I went because it was the closest shop. I’m so glad I did.The staff was friendly, quick, and super helpful. They didn’t try to upsell me or give me something I didn’t need. They lifted my car up, bolted it, and had me back on the road in 15 minutes flat, without an appointment.In the future, I’ll go out of my way to go to Robert’s.

I had a great experience talking/working with Keith, Christian & James to get me vehicle repaired. My car was damaged and the repair shop recommended by my insurance did the cosmetics repairs well, but missed quite a few mechanical issues. I returned the car to them 3 separate times and they still couldnt figure it out and recommended me to take my vehicle to a 3rd party mechanic. I did some online research and found Roberts Auto Service. They were able to diagnose the vehicle and seemed pretty knowledgeable about the issues fairly quickly. The rest of the process was very smooth and easy.

Much and brake work performed, including oil leak fix. All repairs are now complete after a few days, but the wait was worth it. This is my second time to Roberts and once again I am pleased with the clear communications by James, office mgr., and the great work by the mechanical staff and technicians. The vehicle has a smooth ride now and we are happy!However, we had just placed new floor mats into vehicle ($120) prior to drop off, now driver side has oil / grease stains which may never be able to be removed :( and I would have wanted to receive a AAA discount, which is a discount of 10% / $100 max offered within this survey yet was not offered when I paid the bill. :( Roberts provides great service and the problems are fixed with one drop off! Robert’s auto service is great! Way cheaper than the dealership and they give you a AAA discount too if you have that (make sure to bring in your card because you’ll have to slide it). They get busy so I suggest making an appointment!

This place has been a godsend/gift/blessing! My AAA membership referred to me to this service over two years ago. I am sorry I did not write a review earlier. I have my two dodge caravans and hyundai sonta worked on here and am super pleased with the results and costs. Christian and James are the respresentatives I have dealt with and they are so thorough in helping me understand the mechanical issue and helped me prioritize what should be fixed first to help me manage the financial costs. Today they completed a valve gasket replacement! I wouldnt trust any other auto repair place beyond the dealership. As you know dealerships are also extremely pricy. They are always busy but I am sure its because of word of mouth recommendations. You can trust them and as a woman this is very important. Never have they overcharged or attempted to sell me a service.

This is the best auto shop I’ve ever worked with. They’ve always done a stellar job working on my vehicles. And when I was pregnant and Covid-19 was going around, they came to my house to jump my car, replaced the battery and oil, and dropped it back off when they were done - all so I wouldn’t have to leave the house. They only charged me for the battery and oil change. Seriously the nicest guys in the world work here. Wish I could give them more than 5 stars.

Following a referral from a friend, I have been a consistent customer of Robert’s Auto Service. Each time there has been an issue with my car, it has been resolved in a timely manner. The cause has been explained in terms I can understand without the demeaning tone so often encountered from garages. The recommendations for solutions are logical. I leave feeling satisfied and confident the appropriate actions were taken.

I had my 2010 Jeep Wrangler in the shop for some extensive work. The shop was very professional and straight forward. I do, however, think the prices were a little steep. I normally do my own repairs if i am able t,o so maybe Im not accustomed to hourly shops rates. My overall experience with Roberts Automotive was good. A couple things that did bother me is the mechanic left empty parts bags and trash in the passenger seat when I came to pick up the vehicle, and the linkage to my 4WD shifter column wasnt properly reinstalled. I drove back to the shop and they fixed it as soon as I arrived. Took maybe 10 minutes.

James and Keith at Roberts Auto always take care of our vehicles. Our 2002 Sequoia was stolen and then recovered, so Keith and his team did a thorough examination to be sure it was still in tip top shape. They even put on our new seat covers for us. Timely, friendly and thankfully still open during Covid. Highly recommend!

This place is awesome. The waiting room is clean and comfortable as far as auto shops go. I came in with a certificate for a complimentary oil change and they didnt try to up-sell me at all. The guy at the front desk was super nice. They had a after hours pick up option (which was super easy), since I wasnt able to get back to pick up before close. Overall, the service was professional and friendly. I would definitely go back.

It was my first time trying out Roberts Auto Service. I live one mile away and I usually take my Toyota to Mossy Toyota but I decided to stop going there after something on my dash was broken and they hid it. I am pleased to have found this new repair shop. They were fast and the coffee there is AMAZING! I am a coffee lover and it was freshly made for me and Christian at the front desk was very kind! I had a pleasant first time experience! I will return for all my car repairs!

My BMW has been serviced by Roberts for about 10 years. The car is 20 years old and runs great. Both I and the previous owner have been very happy with Roberts. The previous owner recommended Roberts and I’m glad she did!James and Christian usually answer the phone and are at the front desk.They are friendly and helpful and do a great job.

Service advisers always listen to your issues and offer a solution. If you do everything their system recommends, your vehicle will be well maintained. However, some of the recommendations are nice to dos and not critical for safety or reliability. You have to evaluate every suggestion to make sure it is something you really need or is just a revenue source for Roberts.But their techs seem to know what they are doing, as service and repairs are well done.

Ive been taking my cars here for 20 years. They cost more, but get the job done. They are professional, good communicators, and keep excellent records of past repairs and maintenance services. I feel confident that Ill be well taken care of every time. I highly recommend Roberts Auto Service.

I got a free inspection with them through AAA, and I had just bought this car so I thought Id take them up on their offer. I had a metallic rattling sound that was driving me nuts and even though the car had been inspected prior to purchase, nobody caught the noise (it wouldnt do it until it had been driven a while). So I asked them if they could figure out where it was coming from. It turns out, I had a screw loose and they fixed it for free. Thanks guys - Great job! I still have a screw loose, but the noise is gone! 😂😂😂Seriously, it was a loose bolt on the muffler.

My 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe is just short of 41,000 miles and it developed a message that it needed servicing. I also noticed that the mileage had decreased. I am new to the area and had no idea where to take it locally. The dealer is several miles away. A quick look at Yelp made me feel that Roberts was just what I was looking for that was similar to the people I had used on the East coast for 35 years. I called and Keith told me to bring it in the next morning. I took it in and was received by Christian. I left my car and they felt the message was for an oil change and they suggested a fuel system cleaning. I picked my car up and the message was gone and the mileage for the drive home was increased. Everyone was pleasant. The mechanics seem to be happy and clean. Everyone has their name over the bay where they work. The price was what I considered fair and I will be returning. They also noted the depth of material left on my brake pads.

From my phone call with Christian to make an appointment for service to my bringing my car into the shop and Keith helping me, I was treated with courtesy and respect. The service was done as promised and I appreciated the fact that I was taken home while the car was taken care of and brought back to the shop when the job was completed. I was totally satisfied with Roberts and recommend the shop to all who want excellent service.

The team at Roberts got me in and out so fast that I barely had time to sit down. I have had my cars serviced at Roberts for 10+ years and I know Im in good hands. They do quality work for a very fair price.

The guys at Roberts Auto Service did a fantastic job on my car. I had a bunch of issues that I needed taken care of, and they were able to complete them all within 4 or 5 hours. They quoted me a very reasonable price for replacing my spark plugs compared to another shop down the road which had a audacity to try and charge me over $350. This is what originally lead me to Roberts and along with the fine job they did on my Mazda 3 will bring me back to the guys time and time again if service is needed. Finally, they also offered me a ride back to my house while waiting for my car to be fix and even picked me back up when it was done. Where else can you find service like that in PB? I had my car towed to this place when my transmission died.When I called I was quoted $520 for a new starter.The dealer where I bought it had it towed to his place. He installed a $60 battery and it was fixed aside from his kindness to replace the transmission.That bill would have hurt!

Did what I needed. Got parts ordered in, were ready to go on drop off, despite current conditions. Covid-19 ! Had me ready in a timely fashion, had a good discount available, again good for customer, under these economic/ limited times . God place, good job, good people !

We bought a used car off Carvana, and wanted to get the car checked out within the first week of purchase because it was making an odd noise. Chris helped us get everything together, and discussed our options with the warranty provider for the vehicle. I love my Jeeps. I was referred to this shop about 19 years ago . I love them . Honest and reliable. My first Jeep was in such good condition at 9 years old (maintained by Roberts) that I was able to sell it for what I paid for it. Now my bigger Jeep only goes to them for service (it is over 10 years old now). I feel comfortable asking/calling them with any questions. Always great customer service and I always recommend them.

As always my service at Roberts was outstanding. they are efficient, available, communicative and always come in at or below estimates in my experience. They go the extra mile offering shuttle service and flexible scheduling.

Its hard to find an auto service company you can trust and respect, (especially when you are a woman and know nothing about cars). I have been to Roberts Auto Service on three occasion for completely different services, and I have been very satisfied with the repairs and their fair pricing. I definitely will be recommending them to my friends.

I have an 18 year old Mercedes wagon with nearly 193,000 miles on it.Although I enjoy giving James a hard time about the cost of repairs and maintenance, I completely trust Roberts Auto Service to keep my old girl running. I never worry about getting stuck somewhere with a breakdown, because Terry anticipates problems and gives me good advice regarding preventive maintenance. That said, he has never recommended work that was not necessary or reasonably indicated. Roberts Auto Service is the best!

Roberts customer service is fantastic. They give you great estimates, keep you updated with the progress on your vehicle. Will answer all your questions. They explain what and why they are doing to the vehicle. I have been going to them for 17 years and have always had a great experience.
